This book was what I would classify as a great book to read in the toilet, it keeps you busy but it has nothing you haven’t heard before if you’re into this kind of psychology, it keeps you entertained enough to finish it

Everybody lies and manipulates to survive, but some do it unintentionally (like children) and some do it much more extensively but not just for sake of survival but to gain more where it's in many cases is not even zero sum game but entirely one gains many looses. Like politicians, religious leaders etc. The book would be very useful for many Americans during several last elections, when some people lie and manipulate so much that eventually it becomes in many people's minds a truth.

The first manuscript is 5 stars - excellent yet deeply chilling after escaping a financially and psychologically predatory narcissist. The ex-narc used every single one of Turner's 19 Predatory Manipulative Tactics.

The second part I'd give 3 stars. After suffering 12 years of immense abuse, it was difficult reading this "how to" manual on manipulation.

Nothing earth shattering in here

The book reads more like a summary of the topic. No deep insights. The author has written a giant essay. Cliff notes.
