The Woman Who Welcomes Angels

Rate this book
As she learns to war in the spiritual realm, both strangers and friends come to her for help. Can she meet such a great need? How long can she survive with the enemy’s target on her back?

Sophie Ramos has a calling and maybe even an obligation. But she can’t do any of it by herself. The team she traveled with the previous year was helpful. But she was just a guest, not a real member of that team. Can she form her own team of gifted people, skilled and committed to freedom for all who come to them?

Not everyone who seeks Sophie out is looking for spiritual liberation. An old nemesis has barged back into her life, bringing his own skills and his own team with him. Does Sophie have enough of the light she cherishes to overcome the darkness Maxwell Hartman brings with him?

The girl who sees angels has become a woman who welcomes angels. She has grown in her faith and grown in her gifts. Does she have what it takes to lead a team of spiritual warriors? Only God and Sophie know the answer to that. Though Detta certainly has an opinion.

This is Book Three in the Sophie Ramos series which began with The Girl Who Sees Angels.

As a small boy in Lincoln, Nebraska, I listened enrapt to my grandmother reading me children’s stories, such as The Little Engine That Could. I also recall the elementary school librarian who read us Winnie the Pooh, imitating all the voices. And I remember the first summer I was allowed to ride my bike to the library on my own.

Writing started for me in school. Teachers encouraged me to pursue what they perceived as a gift. For me, my imagination was a challenge as much as a gift. I found the real world so much less enthralling.

In my Christian high school, the English teacher supplied me with unassigned novels. I wrote the senior class play and served as editor of both the yearbook and the school newspaper.

At Houghton College, I majored in writing, including coursework in poetry and fiction. But I also majored in biblical studies and was persuaded to take my writing skills in a more “respectable” direction—academia and nonfiction writing. Remember that less enthralling real world?

When all my academic work led to no great employment breakthrough, I hopped from there onto that rapid conveyor known as the tech industry. Starting in the 1990s, I shaped a new career, eventually starting my own computer consulting firm.

During those years, I focused on raising two boys and cherished the role of doing the bedtime reading, including attempting all the voices in The Chronicles of Narnia series. I also composed a few stories from scratch for my attentive little audience, usually around a campfire.

I started writing again in 2006. Following a friend’s suggestion, I meditated on scripture by imaging myself present on a day when Jesus healed an entire multitude. That meditation turned into my first novel, And He Healed Them All. Closing the gap between the sparse descriptions in the Gospels and what must have been a rich miraculous experience enticed me.

A series of unusual events (ask me someday) prodded me to write my second novel, The Reign: Out of Tribulation. I began self-publishing with those first two books. My third novel, Seeing Jesus, expanded into a series when numerous readers begged me for more. As it turns out, that kind of begging is hard to resist.

In all, I have published fifteen books on Amazon, fourteen of them as installments in one of my series. I am constantly working to improve my skills and to better share my message with the reading public.

Anyone tracking my address could guess that I’ve had some setbacks in my life. But God has stayed the same, even as I evolve and have to start over again.

Now I am married and living in Vernon Hills, Illinois, attending a vibrant church and meeting new people. I work part-time on my computer consulting business, and I devote much of the rest of my time to writing and marketing my books, with my wife as my highly motivated marketing director.

I love truth wrapped in an awesome tale. This book in the series, so far, is the best in my opinion. Love how the characters are learning and growing; how depending more on 'The King' and the Spirit's leading. The whole story is thrilling and keeps you 'in there" as they put together a team who support and assist each other in various situations. Absolutely love the prayers and the love between them all. A true winner. Didn't want it to end. Left me wanting more.

The third in the series, this is a very welcome addition, continuing the story of Sophie Ramos, “The Woman Who Sees Angels.” I appreciate that Sophie shows very clear growth over the series’ progression, from the confused and troubled young woman of the first book, here reflected upon as “disaster and depression”, to her growth in the second book (The Woman Who Chases Angels) to the woman she has become by the start of this book. Here she realizes that she needs to assemble her own ministry team, and that is much of the story of this book.

As always, I very much enjoy Mr. Jones’ drive-by humor: one of the recurring characters in this series is a Star Trek nerd, and he makes a passing reference to a dark spirit as a cling-on, and later, when Sophie’s angels light up a wall next to her, she thinks of it as a forcefield. Another good one is the secret service detail of angels flying by on a mission.

As much as I like his humor, I most l appreciate the spiritual insights sprinkled liberally through his books: in this one calling foul on religious burdens laid on someone by people who attempt to restrict and control others by dictating behavior rather than leading others to focus on God and on our relationships with him. And, later, ‘“I am confident that God wants to keep us all safe. And I believe we’re safest when we’re doing God’s will. But I know folks are free to do what they want... We get free will even when we’re working against God.”’

This is a book that can fill you with hope without denying that there are spiritual battles we all face.

I received a copy of this book from the author, in exchange for my honest review.

Definitely a favorite!

I absolutely love this series, both from a biblical perspective and an entertainment perspective! Definitely a very unique story, with lovable and relatable characters. It's also very realistic in what it'd really be like for normal people to see into the spiritual realm, as well as, nonbelievers looking in on those of strong faith (not always roses, especially at 1st). I also appreciate how the author is careful not too overemphasize the angels in a way that leads towards worshipping angels versus the one who sent them - something all to familiar in today's society.
I read a lot anyways, but this series is especially hard to put down and I finished this last book in just 3 days. Really if I had one complaint, it'd be that each book and the overall series is simply too short! Please continue with the Sophie Ramos series, there's so many directions to take it and I greatly look forward to reading those yet to come!
P.S. I rarely write reviews, but this is a series I believe all would enjoy and definitely should read, no matter your spiritual background or beliefs! There's truly something for everyone here!

Wow! Was given the opportunity to pre-read book 3 of Sophia Ramos. She is a dynamic woman with the ability to see in the spiritual realm and now using her gift to minister to those needing deliverance.
The author captures what our imaginations never imagined and opens us up as if we are in the experience. I was not able to put the book down the last 80 pages. After reading books 1 and 2, this one will not disappoint.

I received an advanced reader copy for review. It's so good to see Sophie all grown up and settled into using her gift! She's come so far! Mentoring others along the way, being mentored and encouraged, and now forming a team of ministry heroes who are constantly listening, learning, and growing - relying on God and each other as they join the battle to free those who are willing to step into God's freedom. Start with book one to grow along with Sophie!

This is part of a very insightful series by one terrific author! This series opens eyes about spiritual warfare and the power as a Christian that we have through our Lord. People go about their everyday lives and don't think about anything going on around us. This really is a thought provoking series! And I really believe in this ... but to see it would be something else! wow! I forgot to add... I was given this book as an advanced reader copy to review honestly. This is my honest review

As a child she saw angels. Now she welcomes them into her life
This book - WOW — She sees angels and demons. Spiritual warfare — friends that help - which she REALLY needs. Terrific book — what we all need is friends that pray and stand with us!!!! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.

True to Jones’ style, this book was a real page turner! It had more action than the 2nd book and reminds believers that there is a spiritual realm and things going on all around us that we’re often unaware if! Also a good reminder: only Jesus has ALL power! Demons are limited in what they can do.

It's hard to explain how...comfortable...Jeffrey's writing is. Not boring but relaxing. Jeffrey takes you into the life of Sofie Ramos once more with likable, authentic characters. You get to know a group of friends forming bonds and using their gifts to serve the Lord in a unique and specific way. I received an advanced readers copy for an honest review of this book.

Interesting book

This book is very interesting and I'm intrigued by the subject of angels but the way the book is written is a little hard for me to understand what's going on. I made my way through it but there is a lot I don't understand.
