Painfully aware of the doomed fate of his desires, Yeonwoo wanted to let go of his attraction to his boss, Keith, and free himself of the control his feelings had over him. Despite his attempts at pushing the other man away, however, Keith starts sending Yeonwoo mixed signals, further confusing his troubled heart.
As Yeonwoo's mental and physical health begins to deteriorate due to the trauma of what happened to him, he seeks help… which Keith unexpectedly provides. Although still committed to his philandering ways, Keith takes care of Yeonwoo whenever he needs comfort.
What can Yeonwoo do when Keith is so hot and cold, pushy and gentle, loving and harsh? The emotional whiplash has Yeonwoo cementing his desire to leave Keith for good, but that is easier said than done. Before he truly can, Keith's rut and Yeonwoo's heat hits them full force.
Everything would be much easier if they could only be as honest with their hearts as they are with their bodies. How deeply do the lies they tell go into the foundations of their relationship?
So the last 25% of this is basically all sex, but since the first novel and 75% of this book are all "will they/won't they?", it at least answers a major narrative question.
Yeonwoo unwittingly makes Keith's life miserable. That's why I keep reading. Also, Zigs writing is highly seductive. Just to be clear, I am in no way excusing Keith's behavior. I think studies have shown that even kids from horrible families can grow up to be good people too, but Keith has preconceived notions about omegas. No matter what Yeanwoo says, Keith can not comprehend anything different than what he has been told or witnessed while growing up with his male omega father.
Still, I'm saddened that with all of Yeonwoos' efforts, he can not change Keith's rude behavior. Even so, I wish it for Yeanwoo, though he deserves better. This slowburn was worth the wait. You get rewarded many, many, many times. Keith is showing a softer side that, despite what he has done, makes my heart glow for Yeonwoo. This taboo story just claws at me, and I can't get enough. I'm not sure what that says about me, but there it is. So, book twos plot is mostly smut and made to get the readers' hopes up. But no worries, I'm here to ruin it for you first. Keith is still an a-hole.
I enjoyed it and glad that they finally hooked up but I was confused with the timeline because when did the prologue happen in the first book?
I deducted a star because page 176 was missing and some spelling errors.
In the next book I'm expecting the Omega to be preggers with twins, an Extreme Alpha and an Extreme Omega because of how much unprotected sex they have had so far.
I'm also confused on the timeline in relation to the related series "Kiss Me If You Can".
Red flag - no... Burning forest.... More like it... Oops I didn't mean ...a burning forest🌲 literally 🔥😏 I cried at the end yopie... I do love when men suffer... Like a lot 😏🙊🫢
