He’s a cop tangling with the most dangerous man in town…
“As long as he knows the deal, it’s fine. He hates cops, so it should make for some pretty rough scratch-your-back sex.”
Chief of police Jamie Allen is smitten by the new arrival in his remote Alaskan town of Barrow until he realises Ephram Welles comes with baggage—he’s an ex-con. Any liaison between them is strictly forbidden. Jamie would be risking his job and reputation if he tangles with a convicted felon. But Ephram isn’t easy to resist. He’s everywhere Jamie turns, and the mutual chemistry between them is sizzling hot, just waiting to explode. Jamie’s willing to risk everything for just one night of passion with Ephram, but can he stop there? As he learns more about Ephram, he starts to realize that his feelings run way deeper than lust and can’t be denied.
“I don’t know how to carry on. I thought I could, but I can’t. I don’t have anyone. I could disappear, and no one would notice.”
Ephram’s running from his past and his own loneliness since he lost everything in one moment of madness. He’s come thousands of miles to an isolated community to start again and the last thing he needs or wants is a cop prying him open inch by inch, but that’s exactly what Jamie seems hell-bent on doing. Ephram doesn’t need this complication. He’s tormented by memories of prison and he hates cops with a vengeance. But Jamie’s a different proposition from anyone he’s ever met before. He’s the sort of guy Ephram’s been looking for all his life, even though he knows he should throw him away...

Before I start this review, I want to clarify that I have NOT read the first 2 books in the series. This is the third book, but I think it can be read as a standalone. I decided to embark on this adventure and start from it because I really liked the description of the book.
And the result was totally... WOW. The book is one of those that is extremely easy to read and hits you in the right place to keep you reading until you reach the last page.
I can't get my head around it though - at first I didn't see how things between Jamie and Ephram were going to work out at all. From their first meeting, there was so much desire, tension and anger between them.
Jamie struck me as the typical cop who is too dedicated to his job and wouldn't risk his badge for the forbidden fruit. And Ephram strikes me as someone who would rather run than indulge his desire.
I'm glad my expectations were not met because Jamie and Ephram turned out to be an explosive combination capable of melting even the snows of Alaska.
If you're a fan of instant lust and love, this is definitely your book!
There was a lot of everything – drama, misunderstandings, hot sex scenes, passion, emotions and even a meeting with a polar bear.
The only thing I was missing was an epilogue to show what happens to Jamie and Ephram after they get back from the airport. Well, I guess we'll learn more about them in the next book.

Entangled is the third book in the Cold Love series. Scarlet Blackwell takes the enemies to lovers to whole another dimension. Jamie is the sheriff and is gay. He hides it from the town he’s in charge of. He’s attracted to Ephram, an ex-con who is new to town. But he knows that they cannot be together because a cop and an ex-con is a violation and that angers him. Ephram went to prison for beating someone to death, even if it was accident of sorts. They both want each other so badly but violence ensues when ever they are together. They do have a lot of hate s3x and I’d almost classify this as insta-lust/love. Overall, a good story.
WOW!! This is Book #3 in this COLD LOVE SERIES!!!! Angst! Angst!! Angst!!! If you love men who can't get out of their own way, this is PERFECT!! Alaska can be lonely and extremely cold. It's a place where you can leave your past behind. Jamie is the Police Chief, solid, caring and highly regarded. Ephram is an ex-con, looking for a new start. These two can't see their own worth. Both are damaged by the past, their shame is like a invisible cloak around them. They both use it as a shield around their hearts. SCARLET BLACKWELL does angst to the nth degree before she gives you a happily ever after. I loved these characters. This is Book #3 but these can be read as stand alones. I'm just really enjoying reading about each couple as they come along. I'm really looking forward to reading Book #4. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS COLD LOVE SERIES!!!!!

It is another book in the series Cold Love, but it can be read as a standalone.
Entangled, and they really are, Eph- scarred and jaded, Jamie- lonely and wounded, they both had experienced disappointment and betrayal. And they both are not looking for a relationship, just some quick thryst to sate their lust, to scratch the itch… But there is a sheer magnetism between them, they can't fight the feeling that one night will not be enough, and even though in the eyes of the law and people their relationship is doomed from the start, they still will get their happy ending.
Their journey is not the easy one, and sometimes you would want just to flick them on the forehead for being too stubborn and trying to deny that they are made for each other. But give them and the book a chance, and you and they will arrive at the point of their destination- together.
What can I say about Jamie and Ephram? They are both stubborn broken who despite their instant connection can't seem to get it together. I wanted to smack some sense into them both at times lol. If you love anst, hurt comfort, and stubborn men you'll enjoy this. I would of loved an epilogue but Kanen's story is up next and I'm sure we'll see plenty of these two.

I went into this book completely blind and didn't read the first 2 books. I felt bored until about 80% into the book when some feeling where actually felt between the guys. They don't have much of a connection other than sex here and there. They don't hang out or form a bond in any other way. It felt like friends with benefits but with feelings they each held in and didn't express to each other. It was good towards the 80% mark when they finally got thier heads out of thier butts and did something about it. The ending however felt non believable.
If the characters actually got to know each other and did things outside of the bedroom (so to speak) it would have felt more believable of a story. Maybe because it's written is 3rd person that I didn't feel the connection the characters supposedly felt towards each other. It didn't feel like a real relationship to me. They needed A LOT more character development in this book. Also the story is based in Alaska with the main characters being from California and Florida yet there are terms used that nobody in the US uses. They are definitely from the UK. Just a small thing that pops up throughout the book that drove me crazy.
I think this is the best story in the “Cold Love” series! I finished it in one sitting! It was soooo good IMHO!!! I loved Jamie and there were times when I would like to shake some sense into Ephram but I do understand his experiences and trauma that causes him to act out the way he did. I’m so glad that Kamen will have his own story next because I loved him as a minor character!!! Looking forward to it! This one would make for a good TV movie/Movie to watch.
The story focuses on Jamie, the police chief in a small town called Barrow in frigid Alaska and how he struggles to separate his role as a police chief and having lust over Ephram who was an ex-convict. Ephram went to prison for killing someone so he has some resentment against any law enforcement officers for how they treated him. That made the no-casual flings between Jamie and Ephram complicated for Ephram. I’m going to stop right there and have you pick up the book and read to find out what happens next! Definitely a 5 stars read!!!!
I'm loving this series. Even though these two aggravated me so much I still loved their story. Jamie is the chief of police and Ephram (love the name BTW **sigh** Everwood) has just arrived in town after being released from prison 2 years prior. Even though they really like one another and have fantastic sexual chemistry they both are afraid to go there, because neither one wants to ruin Jamie's career. After a talk with the mayor everything else seems to fall into place and the couple finally get an hea. I can't wait to read book 4 and see Kanen find love!
"Animals play such an important part in our lives and give us such unconditional love." ❤️
"The kiss tracked down to his heart and restarted it." 🥰

I don’t know where to start. I’ve read a couple of other books by this author the ones in this series and they were like okay they weren’t outstanding but they were decent and I enjoyed them while I read them I can tell you what happened in them now but While I read them I enjoyed them. So I thought I’d try this one boy was that a mistake I’ve got about 70% and I really wanted to DNF it but by that point I’d made it through 70% of it I thought I might as well just finish it. For sex was borderline abusive, they do not know how to talk to each other at all and right at the end they end up engaged like this is not a relationship that would ever last. Both characters were so annoying I vehemently disliked both of them so therefore they probably deserve each other I just don’t know one good thing about this book really.

As always, Scarlett brings another energetic and mind blowing story of illicit affairs. Entangled quickly became my favorite of the series thus far, with the past experiences and trauma of both characters, brought emotions to the forefront, making the reader experience every emotion in this masterpiece.
The forbiddances of their connection mixed with such intense chemistry was so explosive!! Their instant attraction, the lack of restraint of desire beyond the animosity at every encounter. Their constant bickering and merciless banter made for such an emotionally, intense storyline!
So excited for Kanen’s story next with yet another outsider!
This is the third book in the series and all I can say is wow!
Two lonely broken souls- one a police chief and the other an ex con looking to start over in a small Alaskan town to get over their past….
There dynamic starts off as enemies at first but the attraction is too strong between them although it is forbidden in all aspects regarding their dynamic- law enforcement verses convicted felon….
I loved the banter and sexual tension between them that only Scarlet Blackwell can incorporate into her thrilling steamy, twisted novels and look forward to book four with bated breath!

Jamie and Ephram are our MCs. It's insta-lust from the beginning. They have a tumultuous relationship throughout the book. Honestly, I don't see how these two fell in love as all they do is fight or Fu**, which makes for a very hot🔥 book. I would have liked for the author to have gone deeper with Eph's character as he carried a lot of trauma. Ultimately, this is what was lacking. A lot of the arguments were due to lack of communication and understanding. I would also like to have seen some healing for Eph for the same reason. Jamie ran hot and cold as well.
Scarlet Blackwell should be the Queen of Angst and the Queen of Hurt and Comfort tropes. Because that's what Entangled is about - all about the delicious angst and emotional hurt and comfort. Let me just to tell you that Ephraim and Jamie's love journey is relationship goals. Their story, their journey had all the feels. I had lumps in my throat and my heart kept beating hard reading this story. Then I cried ugly tears of joy!
All I can say is I fell in love with Ephram and Jamie from the start! Once again scarlet has made another masterpiece. The love hate relationship between the two main characters had me locked in and unable to put down this book for a minute, I’m so excited for the next book and to see how Kanens story goes. This is the third book in the Cold Love series and continues the theme of angsty stubborn men, enemies to lovers, and hurt comfort. It's the story of Ephram, an ex-con and Jaime Chief of Police and their hate-love attraction. Like the other books in the series the story is a dark and sometimes violent as the two men deal with their past traumas. I received this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.
This series gets better with each new book but this story is my favorite of this series so far. These two broken and hurt men find the comfort in each other despite everything that makes it seem like they shouldn't be together.
I went in thinking this book would be similar to the first but the whole thing was the two characters fighting back at one another. I unfortunately didn't connect with either of the characters and it was a pushto get myself through the book.
I'm enjoying this series but this one wasn't quite as good as the other two, though I did enjoy it. It didn't feel so much of a romance between these two as much as just hooking up because they were attracted to each other.
*almost 3 stars* The hate-love tension could have been extraordinary but it ended up being… meh. Actually there was not hate at all, only that the cop could lose his job. I am always disapointed with stories like this.. overall the book was okey, but I probably will not read more from this author.
Unlikable characters, no plot, too much push and pull, too much sex without any relationship development and an unrealistic marriage proposal out of nowhere at the end of the book.
