What a book to end a cracking year of reading. Although it being only lunch time I will no doubt start another one, suffice to say this will be the last one I finish in 2022.
So... book 18 in this series - jeepers! If you haven't already started the series I think by now you are beyond playing catch-up. But still, I would have to recommend doing that for the main characters' backgrounds and development. That said, as always, the main story is self contained. And boy what a story it is!
We start with an illicit liaison which is rudely interrupted. Said interruption escalating and leading to the death of one of the couple. Sara is rudely awakened to attend the scene which, when she arrives, appears cut and dried with a suspect already apprehended. But it would be a very short book if Sara accepted things on face value...
Things have only just started with this investigation when Sara is again called out late at night, much to her partner's irritation, to attend another scene. Either the two are linked or they might have a serial killer on the loose...
Things escalate further but, you know what? I'm going to leave you to find that out for yourself!
Well.. what can I say that I haven't already said in the hundreds of reviews that I have done for this author's books. It's obvious I enjoy her work. Love her characters, her storylines and her no nonsense attitude to getting on with things with absolutely no superfluous waffle or padding. How her writing style fits my reading style like a glove. How much I love the banter and shts and giggles between all her characters. I am not sure there is anything left to cover!
Suffice to say that I hope that 2023 starts as well as 2022 has finished, reading wise, although I'll have to be very selective in what I start next to be able to top this book.

Another cracking book from MA Comley although I still find Carla really unlikeable with her moodiness.

Comley is an author who knows how to grab hold of her readers attention right from the off. With the dark way this story starts off, I was left with a ton of questions which could only mean if I was struggling to fathom out what the hell was going on, how would Sara and her team fair any better?

Poor Sara, her job really gets in the way of her home life and you can see that even the ever so patient Mark is starting to lose his patience with his wife going out of the house at all times of the night which cuts into their quality time. Both have quite demanding jobs but catching criminals and killers is something that sadly can not wait and as like most industries, with cuts and shortages, it means that people like Sara are even more in demand.

There is a real sense of urgency with more bodies turning up and the onus is on Sara to start finding some answers as to whether something ties all these killings together. It is like looking for a needle in a haystack as they try to work out what connects all the victims and more importantly who. It will certainly keep you guessing as a few likely suspects come into play but whether they are the killer or not you will have to read and find out for yourself!

Deadly Passion had me hooked from the first page. There is plenty going on in the story to keep you gripped and I ended up reading the book in two sittings. It would have been one if it hadn’t been way passed by bedtime already! Compelling and thoroughly suspenseful, I was literally biting my nails in anticipation on how it would all end. Word of warning, it will send your emotions through the wringer a few times but it was well and truly worth it!

My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

This series just gets more and more intriguing, thrilling and fantastic.
We're at number 18 of the D.I.Sara Ramsay series and as always the Author gives readers a fabulous, gripping and unputdownable read and keeps us guessing to the end. MA Comley has an absolutely amazing, brilliant and powerful mind, which we shares with her readers.
D.I.Sara Ramsay, her partner and team certainly have their work cut out with this latest case and all what's to follow.
I highly recommend reading the whole series from the beginning to be able to follow D.I.Sara Ramsay her wonderful team and personal life's aswell. I really can't believe we're at number 18 of this series, its so much more than watching a series or film on TV.
I cannot emphasise and praise MA Comley enough, she never stops to amaze us readers with her abundance of cleverness and dynamic imagination.

I reckon this is the best one by far in this series. This is book number 18, how have we got this far? I’ll tell you because this author is fantastic at writing plot lines which are really hard to unravel.
DI Dara Ramsey had her work cut out for her with this one as she is woken up through the night to attend a new crime scene. She finds the suspect sitting in the car, but is she the killer or isn’t she? That’s what Sara & her magnificent team have to try & fathom out. As the book gallops along there are 2 more bodies discovered & the team have to get cracking if they’re going to solve this before another killing happens.
You always know you’re going to get a superb read with this author as she puts her all into every book for her readers. We so appreciate you Ms Comley.

This is book 18 in the brilliant DI Sara Ramsey series. Sara gets called out during the night to Haugh Woods where a male body is under a car, and a female is sat in the car. When the female tells DI Sara Ramsey what happened she soon realises this is not a simple case. Things very soon escalate and Sara and her team have their work cut out trying to solve it. As with all Mel Comley’s novels I found it difficult to put it down, it kept me guessing right to the end. If this is the first of Mel Comley’s novels you have read I guarantee you will want to read the other 17 in this series, and her many other series. Mel Comley is a wonderful crime writer and I highly recommend this and all her many novels.

Thanks for letting me review an early copy of Deadly Passion. I love the di sara ramsey series. If your looking for a new author, or series to read, sarah ramsey is the one, you wont be disappointed.... when a woman reports her lover has been murdered in front of her by a masked person, something doesn't add up..... sara and the team are bought in to solve the case. Did the woman kill her lover, or is it as she says it happened? The knife used was found in the back of her car... more bodies pile up, there seems to be a link with the murders, what is it???? Will the team crack the case? Saras career is at risk.... highley recommend.....

DI Sara Ramsey is called out to an interesting case late at night. The suspect is sitting in the back of a police car and tells Sara a story that sounds suspicious at the very least.

Sara, Carla and the team have their hands full with more murders to solve. Who is killing people and what is the motive?

This is a dark story that had me working as hard as the team did to solve it! I like that we still see the relationship between Sara and her husband, Mark as well as the cases that Sara and the team have to solve.

An interesting and complex story that had me glued to it from start to finish.

Wow, this had me completely stumped. Didn't have the first clue who the murderer was going to be.

I love it when an author can surprise me like that.

And what an apt title, was totally hooked on finding out what would happen next.

It was the perfect book to distract me from the lack of heat at home while waiting for British Gas to show up. As it engrossed me and kept my mind off real life.

Another simply amazing story from the mind of M A Comley, and it is always good to catch up with Sara Ramsay and her team.

Thank you to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Sara arrives at a murder scene but discovers that things are not as they first appear! A woman has murdered her lover, or has she?

Sara, along with the rest of her team, begin investigating, but it’s not long before another body turns up which lends credence to the first suspects story. The team soon discover a motive for the killings and uncover the mystery of a cold case in the process.

Some unexpected twists and turns but good old detective work by the team solves the case. Really recommend.

Deadly Passion

When DI Sara Ramsey is called out to a murder it seems a simple case. A male under a car with his lover sat in the driving seat, however all is not as it seems. The female is insistent she is innocent and that they were attacked by a maniac wielding a knife. When another body turns up its apparent that she is telling the truth. As the body count rises Sara and her team have to solve the case before anybody else loses their lives.
Once again a brilliant read from the pen of M A Comley. This is book18 in this series and this is the best yet!!

A ruthless and heartless serial killer hidden in plain sight. A truly gripping investigation. And a definite must read. To say more would totally spoil this amazing read.

One callous murder followed almost immediately by another two, leaves Sara Ramsey and her team pushed to their limits in an all out attempt to stop further deaths.

Another tense and gripping story by this amazing author.

Highly recommended.

What a fabulously fast crime thriller! Lots of chasing about the town, following leads and interviews led by the team. Once again, the relationships between Sara and the police family, and Sara and Lorraine were a pleasure to read. Another winner.

The killer - creepy and sinister. This was a non stop full throttle race against time that had me gripped right up to the exciting denouement. That ending was kapow!

Fancy being a witness to a murder of someone you love, then things take a huge turn for the worse and you’re stuck in limbo.
Then other murders happen and what’s linking them.
This book just kept coming up with it all.
Excellent read. Just keep getting better.

It’s the first book I’ve read of Sara Ramsey and a good thriller too. The clues where there be they where a bit mixed up and she likes to take the bull by the horn though sense prevailed

I enjoyed this new edition of Sara Ramsey. There were times when the characters are winding each other up and I don’t care for that but that is just me. I prefer my characters to get along. The plot is good and you have no idea why what is happening to these folks and who until the end and I love that. All in all I think Ms. Comley has done it again. This author is one of the busiest and best to her readers.
