Trix Winchester has been promoted to head of romance acquisitions for London’s leading literary agent. The problem? Trix hasn’t believed in romance for years.
Kel Bradshaw’s looking for a sugar mommy to pay her way through art school. But she just can’t bring herself to be mercenary enough to trick someone into it.
So when Trix shows up to her American half-sister’s wedding and Kel breaks up a fight between the two, it’s only a matter of time before they realize that they could be a match made in heaven. Kel’s playboy reputation makes her the perfect romance coach, and Trix, well, Trix has money.
There’s only one rule: don’t fall in love. Because Trix is definitely not falling for any of those pesky romance tropes.
Fake dating has never been so profitable. But with an evil half-sister, a psychologist for an estranged father, a cake shop owner who seems intent on poisoning her customers, and an interfering mail lady, that no falling in love rule is getting tougher and tougher not to break...
Not Only One Bed is part of a new series of Transatlantic WLW romances from Sienna Waters, the bestselling author of The Wrong Date, Tea Leaves & Tourniquets, and A Quiet Life. The books can be read in any order and are standalones featuring only the happiest of endings.
Everyone who knows me, knows that I’m a huge fan of Sienna Waters. One of the things she always does with her stories is to make me smile. This time I was already laughing out loud before I even started the story. There is a content warning that is the funniest I have ever read. You definitely can look forward to this, but not only this. What you also get is another incredible read that contains wonderful characters and like I already mentioned so much humour.
Trix the one from England with the perfect job, but doesn’t believe in romance comes to the states to visit her father. One thing she didn’t expect is to meet anyone. And well Kel the player and she definitely couldn’t be more different. Their background but also just their whole personalities just don’t match. That’s what you would think. But circumstances lead them to need each other in a way they wouldn’t have thought. It leads them to fake dating and Kel trying to show Trix what romance means. Even if you would think at first Kel isn’t the right one for this, she definitely is. And that’s exactly what Trix notices too with the time.
I just loved this ride and their journey. There is another thing I loved so much in this book, which would be all the references to romance books. All the tropes that were woven into the story. For me that was perfection. All of this leads to to say once more that you just need to read this story. Sienna Waters is for me one of the authors you don’t hear about all the time. She isn’t as much in the spotlight as others, but what she does every single time is to deliver. And she doesn’t only deliver, she also improves every book and I’m just in awe of her. I can’t wait for the next one.

Book 2 in Sienna's latest series and a few characters pop in from book 1. Clever writing from the book's content warning then through the plot and I was hooked easily. This storyline is loaded with humor, push/pull romance and a bit of heat. Trix, a literary agent promoted to lead Romance Acquisitions, doesn't believe in love and desperately wants the top job in Literary Fiction. A die hard non-romantic she thinks romance books are fluff with no real future. Crossing the pond to reluctantly attend her American half-sister Emily's wedding, she meets Kelly/Kel. Kel is a happy-go-lucky barista seeming content to pile up bedpost notches. Secretly she longs to leave the small town to attend art school in the UK but lacks the funds needed. To be a worthy head of the Romance Dept., Trix realizes that she needs to learn about romance and with few options regarding that knowledge eventually Kel appears to fit the bill as tutor. Weddings are supposed to be romantic anyway, right? Really - a fauxmance? Kel needs to believe in her self worth and Trix needs to open her mind and heart to love. Communication is key but as with most romances, the road ahead is full of twists and turns. Will Kel's dream of art school become a reality? Poking fun at the concept of romance, the stark differences between the leads, starts and stumbles, over the top grand gestures of love and worthy side characters all add up to a very enjoyable read with an HEA. Easily recommend and on my favorites shelf.

‘Everyone who believed in love knew exactly what the words were trying to say.’ Yes! Another great Sienna Waters’ read. I loved the concept and the characters. The beginning Content Warning was brilliant and set the tone for the book. It will make you laugh and then give the satisfied little sigh all romance readers give at the happily-ever-after. I received a preview copy from Booksprout and have left an honest review.
Trix has a very one sided view of love and romance due to her childhood experience. Kel is able to open her eyes to the possibility of wanting more. I love how Kel teaches Trix about tropes and romantic gestures. Trix has some unresolved issues with her dad and step sister. Trix makes Kel feel like she does deserve more in her life. They seem like an odd couple but they are also so sweet together. I like the inclusion of the characters from the first book and Joey is a hoot. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Fun book that though the reluctant Romantic Commissioning Editor goes through every plot ever devised in Lesbian Romance. Good fun and made me laugh. Recommended.
I found the characters in this book very interesting. Trix is a book agent in England and Kel is a bartender/artist in America. They meet accidentality when Trix comes to America for her step sister's wedding. Trix does not believe in romance and Kel avoids all romantic relationships. The plot follows them as they both declare they have no feelings for each other. I found the book interesting and well written. I recommend this book for romance readers. I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
I love this book! Trixie is so jaded about romance. But with her promotion she needs to learn about it quickly. But first she has to go to America to meet her father and 1/2 sister Emily, for Emily's wedding. So, after meeting Kel, a known player, she hires her to teach her about romance. And the fun ensues. This is an easy and fun read. I give it 5 stars!
This is the weirdest reading experience I've ever had. It started with me having reached a point in writing my latest novel, at which I thought I'd let it rest until tomorrow, then finish and end it the way I had planned. So I gave myself licence for some funny and hopefully sexy entertainment. Well, imagine my surprise to read an author gleefully making fun of the tropes of our genre and it was heartwarming to read with how much humour she was also making fun even of what she'd written herself in the novel. Then the real weirdness hit.
Somewhere in the pages running up to the 58% mark something triggered an idea in the back of my mind. Now I have to say I'm writing a crime thriller and could not just put my mental finger on what it was, that inspired me, but just had to stop reading and get back to my book. When I had the two hair raising last chapters finished it was late and dark outside, but I was hyped up and wanting to know how Sienna was going to end the tale.
I admit to my shame, that I jumped about 10% of her book in my impatience and dropped back in when Trix went about her grand gesture and it was still a fantastic read and the ending was brilliant and very satisfying. So somehow I managed to get two very satisfying experiences out of just one book.
This book was super cute. I loved Trix and Kel from the very beginning. British, 'ice-queen', doesn't believe in romance one bit, but gets to be the head of romance fiction acquisitions for a book publishing company, Trix goes to America to be at her half-sister's wedding. When there, Trix meets an American, London art school hopeful, playgirl, and barista, who doesn't believe she deserves anything but one-night stands, Kel.
Trix, wanting to get on her rude, self-centred half-sister's nerves, asks Kel to teach her about romance, so she can try and get her head around the genre. Kel, wanting to find herself a 'sugar mommy' to get herself enough money to get to London, agrees, but at the same time, wants to prove that she can woo Trix.
Cue the fake-dating, the grumpy/sunshine, the rich/poor, and the age gap romantic tropes, but 100% much cuter because of how Sienna writes these two characters and all the characters around them.
I loved this book. I loved the ending. It is the first one I have read from this author, but definitely not the last.

What do you get when you cross a stuck in her ways ice queen with a self proclaimed player? Well I got someone I wanted to slap, more than once I might add. And someone I would love to just sit and watch her pick up women. This was my second ARC from Sienna Waters and I believe it's even better than the first in this series. The poking fun at romance books was great. I love that we got to know Billy is still doing good lol. Great book. You can't go wrong!
"Suspending your disbelief is easy when there's something you want to believe in. It happens without thought, without trying."
I enjoyed getting to know the romantically jaded, Lady literary critic and adored the character arc in the quintessential Playgirl that she inevitably falls for. An interesting meet cute and a lot of communication where tropes abound.
Funny to read a romance novel trope about romance novels involving tropes ... like breaking the fourth wall or something along those lines. The only sour bit was the phrase "sugar mommy" instead of "sugar mama" and it was used a wee bit too much. Overall though, the dialogue is effortless to read and very humorous and who doesn't enjoy a sweet HEA epilogue?.

It’s been a few months since reading this book so I don’t remember the story in great detail, but there are a few things that still stand out in my mind. First, as an American currently studying in the UK, the lack of research on the character’s part was frustrating. Her problems could have been easily solved with a loan—FAFSA (government) or private—depending on her credit score. I don’t remember that ever being brought up, even if she ultimately decided that she didn’t want to deal with paying it back. I realize that everyone’s different but, she didn’t do any research about the terms of her visa either. And I guess that bit of knowledge beforehand would have gotten rid of a key conflict in the story but I think it could have been reworked to still work. Next, Iappreciated and was entertained by the differences that were presented between Americans and Brits. I also enjoyed the parts where the author and characters laughed at and subverted or theorized some of the bigger romance tropes. (On the topic of tropes, I did not like the final scene.) Finally, I remember being interested in and disturbed by this story as, at the time, I wasn’t certain what I would be doing with my life (returning home or remaining in London after school) and how I would deal with what that meant for my own relationship (whichever way I landed). Overall, I remember liking but not loving thisstory. I enjoyed the character development but was inordinately frustrated by the lack of research
Thoroughly enjoyed it and totally recommend. Light hearted and fun read from SW who seems to just keep writing winners. It may be my new favourite but I think that after every one I finish! As ever the plot zings along at a good pace, the characters are all clearly defined, likeable and believable, and you can just lose yourself in the dialogue & story.
I particularly liked the affectionate look at all the different tropes in the romance genre. It felt like an inside joke but one that you’re included in.
Easy recommend.

I like this book! It’s full of tropes, and discusses many more tropes at length. It contains a classic rich girl/poor girl trope, an airport rush trope, a wedding trope, a false dating trope, and possibly an age gap too… plus it discusses many others, as Trix’s job is as a literary agent. Kel is the barista in the coffee shop Trix visits while staying with her father and half sister Emily, who becomes her false date for the wedding of Emily. This story is comical in places, especially when we realise that Sienna Waters is writing as many tropes into this book as she can shoehorn in. Trix is a jaded soul, not wanting romance, not believing in love. Kel is an aspiring artist and a womaniser, only hooking up with each conquest once. This is the story of how Kel realises what she wants, and has to persuade Trix of the reality of love and romance, that they are not just a series of fictional tropes from romance novels. Trix has just been made head of the romance department at her company, a position she emphatically does not want, but because the money is so good, she is getting Kel to teach her about romance. And things go from there. They fall in love… I also like that this dovetails nicely into the author’s other book ‘Crossing the Pond’, and contains some characters from that book.
An entertaining read. Like a rom-com. A lot of misunderstandings and communications. But a lot of laughter as well. The difference between the Britisch and the American people is well written.

4 stars. I loved the character growth in this. It was easily my favorite thing about this book followed by the romance. Trix and Kel are both flawed characters and there were things about the both of them that I wasn’t too crazy about in the beginning but by the end I loved them. They’re great characters and their romance was really good. I love the way it developed as Kel ends up being Trix’s date to her sister’s wedding and then Kel ends up helping Trix understand romance novels for her job. It was all very cute.
The ending half was my favorite as it read just like a classic romcom movie with Trix rushing to get to Kel to do the grand gesture and declare her love. It was sweet and adorable and a great full circle moment for her character. This was a fun read.
I just loved this book and the characters views on romance. The comments about romance book were funny and true! I sat and read the entire book, such a great read, highly recommended
This is a decent read. Good characterisation and a believable storyline. There was a nice line in humour and the book wasn’t scared of making fun of the very thing it is, a romance.

Overall a good book. It was fun and had some refreshing moments. It was different and clever to have a romance novel that was self-aware about its use of typical romance tropes while also having a main character who was entirely ignorant of romance tropes. A nice HEA, relatively low-angst. The characters had backstories and character arcs (although simple), there was an actual plotline outside the MC's romance, and there were actual side characters, which was all nice.
I have a bunch of criticisms for this book but nothing significant that doesn't feel like I'm nitpicking. In the end it was very enjoyable, particularly the last chunk , so I gave it 5 stars. I absolutely loved when
Some of the characters were somewhat inconsistent through the book, but not enough to ruin things. There was too much instalove for me (which I dislike) but that's a preference on my part; it still worked in the story, and . The fact that the MC was so bafflingly ignorant of romance tropes and overall clueless took some serious suspension of disbelief to accommodate; she was a very smart and capable person who apparently never bothered to do a cursory google search about the topics that she was supposed to be an expert in. I understand that she was romance-adverse however I can't believe that a literary agent would be so ignorant of basic tropes, especially after being put in charge of that department.
I loved this latest book from Sienna. Trix doesn’t believe in love after learning of her parents story of heartache and separation. Unfortunately her new job is head if acquisitions in romance. Kel is tasked with teaching her by playing her fake girlfriend. Kel believes in the theory of love but doesn’t think she’s good enough to fully experience it. One by one they encounter some of the tropes found in romance novels, proving to Trix that it’s not all dreams and fairytales. I loved how Sienna linked the tropes to the situations. I especially loved the part where she says communication would be more believable than it causing problems and causing couple to split up unnecessarily. I couldn’t agree more. Another winner from Sienna.

3,5/5 I enjoyed this very much. It's a very original story with things happening different with the tropes we all know.
It's my second book from this author so I'm a little disappointed, beacause even in this book the character that apologies and does the "growling " ,the big declaration, is the wrong character.
Trix was right, and the points she made were also right. It was Kel the one that had do open Trix's eyes ,the one to apologise and the one to show that things can be different, really disappointing that she didn't.
I don't think these characters were in love,I have no doubt they like eachother, but love feels too much.Trix liked Kel beacause she didn't really like anyone before and Kel mostly liked Trix beacause she was different than the girls she usually had in her bed since Trix wasn't really interested in the beginning.
This is the second book I've read by this author and I love it. Two women with two very different perspectives. One understands the premise of romance, while the other is pragmatic about the human condition. Seemingly very different, the outcome is the same - neither forms long lasting intimate connections. That is, of course, until they meet each other. A mutually beneficial agreement helps one with her career and the other with her finances while leading to futures brighter than either could have predicted. Of course there's a little matter of both women daring to dream of more than what they've always known and for a potentially disastrous miscommunication to be overcome first. An enjoyable journey of two hearts that are well worth the read.
Sometimes romance is the epic declaration- the airport dash, the countless bouquets- and sometimes it is just the willingness to tell the other person how much you care, how much you know they deserve more and better, and how you hope the might take a chance with you anyway
celebrating doing the scary things, big and small, for love, lust and so much more.

This is a fun romance between a grumpy British book editor and a hopeful American barista. There are many amusing snippets reflecting the author's dry sense of humor. There is a decent supporting cast providing both help and hindrance at various points throughout the story. As a bonus there is a separate story arc following Joey's efforts to not poison any of her customers. This is a nice read with an enjoyable conclusion.
Sienna Waters is brilliant in a way that filters out all the noise. She leaves you with your heart open and your soul barred. This book as well as her first book in the Transatlantic series, Crossing the Pond, has not only great storylines but is funny and heartwarming. She has a way of breaking down human relationships in a way that is easy to understand. I look forward to reading more of her work.
My second read by Sienna Waters. I really enjoy her Trans Atlantic books as I'm a big fan of the UK! Great leading ladies, supported by interesting secondary characters. Now to find another novel by this author!
“That falling in love makes you believe. Believe in what, I’m not quite sure, but believe in something. It gives you reason, it gives you motivation, it gives you confidence. It changes you indefinably. And in the end it makes you better.”
This book is about romance, but it also studies it and discusses it, with characters that are humorous, skeptical and wise. It is a fun trip that includes analyzing romance novels, tropes and dreams. A warm hearted book.
