Why I chose to read this book:
I'm thrilled to receive my copy from author Louise Bélanger since I loved her previous work, Your Words Your World.

Praises:
1. as a gardener, I fell in love with Belanger's breathtaking photos of vivid flowers, and as a Christian, I was moved by the beauty of her words praising our Lord;
2. it is difficult to pick a favorite photo - they're all stunning! However, I am partial to peonies and I loved the whimsical blueberry! and,
3. again, how does one choose one favorite poem when they're all so beautifully written? I thought the poem about a snowman, "Tinsel", was so sweet. I did lean towards "A place", "Which one" and "What do you see?" "All I want for Christmas is ..." made me do a doubletake, but the one that deeply touched me was "Yet You didn't" as it reflects the true meaning of love.

Overall Thoughts:
Louise Bélanger captures the essence of beauty through her thoughtful words and gorgeous photos - they touched my heart and my soul. All thoughts are my own.

Recommendation?
I highly recommend this beautiful collection of poems for followers of Christianity!

Thank you, Louise, for gifting me with your exquisite book, and for including a most lovely personal inscription!

This is the third book in Louise Bélanger’s wonderful Christian poetry collection. As I write this, it is the number one new release in both the “Christian Poetry” and “Religious and Inspirational Poetry” categories on Amazon. The poems are accompanied by stunningly beautiful photographs. The author’s strong and simple faith shines through on every page. Louise’s words show us that faith in God does not have to be complicated and will bring you great peace.

The poem Prayers in the excerpt above is one of my favorites, as it conjures up images of millions of prayers flying around the world, on their way up to God. I also love Who Wins, which starts out:

There is a glass
inside of us
Where trust and doubt compete.

It is about what we allow into our soul and who and what we trust.

My favorite poem in the book may be Petals like Hearts. It starts out:

Petals, like hearts
are subject to frost.

That may be my favorite line in the book because it’s so true.

The poem most evident of Louise’s strong faith is With You. The poem makes me feel peaceful whenever I read it.

The photographs of this book were taken by the author in her home city of Montreal and they are absolutely spectacular. The cover photo blows me away. It is just so mesmerizing.

This book will leave you filled with hope and beauty, and that's a great way to start, end, or continue any day.

Poetry forces my mind to pause and read between the lines, decipher the message, and appreciate the elements of poetry, such as alliteration, meter, rhyme, scheme, verse and stanza. I find that I need time to digest and reflect upon each poem. Moreover, author Belanger includes a carefully selected, photographed picture to accompany each of the 26 poems in this collection, which guides the reader to pause, widen their perspective and gaze upon the beauty of creation. A few poems resonated with me, and the words touched my heart and mind. Very few authors are able to do such, so I must commend the author for putting the following poems together that moved me.
a) Which one are you? This poem is based on Luke 17:11-19, the parable of the 10 lepers.
b) How much does it cost? Reminds me that some things are priceless and cannot be bought, such as the gift of salvation and prayer.
c) Reflection This poem reminds me to make sure that my character, conduct and conversation are ones that reflect Christ. Romans 10:14-15 (Be the hands and feet of Christ) Colossians 3:23 (Whatever you do...)
d) Detours I really like this poem. It reminds me of the following: Proverbs 16:9, Proverbs 19:21, and Romans 8:28. I find that as I move along in life, the journey has taught me to appreciate the detours rather than complain. I now have an attitude of gratitude for the detours, for I know that there is a greater purpose and appreciate the exciting adventure that lies ahead. I also really like the photograph that accompanied this poem, as I find the purple flowers along the path to be so very beautiful.
e) Deep within our soul⁣ Reminds me of what comedian Steve Harvey once said, "God created each and every soul with a gift. Find and discover your gift, not your passion, and your gift will make room for you." Steve Harvey referenced Proverbs 18:16
Overall, a fantastic collection of poetry. Thank you to the author for the gift of her poetry collection. I thoroughly enjoyed reading all three books.

Another Beautiful and Inspirational Treasure

I waited with bated breath for Louise Belanger’s next poetry book, and it exceeded my expectations from cover to cover. Her photographs alone are breath-taking, colorful as well as powerful, as powerful as each of her poems. Admittedly, I am far more spiritual than religious, and while the author’s faith shines through, I am simply captivated by the depth and perception of her words, and her ability to weave them together so beautifully.

I can’t decide on my favorite poem, but I love Tinsel and Dew. And my favorite stanza is in A Place, “Where judgement remains outside, and acceptance welcomes you in.” I treasure all three of her poetry books and highly recommend them! I often rely on them to either share with others or simply as an inspirational boost that we all need so often these days.

“Your soul can rest at the end of the day
And the echo you hear is love from your heartbeats”

“Petals
Hearts
The sun can warm one
The Son can heal the other”

“The world sees
Your reflection
On the water of our hearts”

Another beautiful collection of poems and photographs by Louise. These were great and I loved the themes centered around one’s heart. These are excellent reminders to be kind in how you treat others and to examine your heart because we are a reflection of the Almighty God. These poems had a nice maturity about them and I could feel the beauty of nature around me, like a reminder of growth and rejuvenation healing and rebirth. We see these beautiful reminders all around us and Louise parallels them with our heart in a really creative way. The love and grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus are present in this wonderful collection. My favorite ones are Who Wins?, Reflection, and Yet You Didn’t. Definitely recommended for poetry lovers who yearn for something to stir their own heart and soul.

Louise Belanger has an incredible gift. In this, her third book of poetry, she translates Jesus' life, teachings and love into radiant words.

I especially appreciate Yet You Didn't. Jesus, You could 'leave us in our sinful rags' but You didn't.

Louise,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with your readers and reminding us of Jesus' profound love.

Louise Belanger has done it again with this beautiful collection of religious poems. Her words are meant to comfort, challenge and inspire you and the accompanying nature photos are breath-takingly beautiful.
This one's a pleasure to read and I learned, with the previous volumes in the series, that even on a paper-white Kindle that only displays black and white photos are beautiful, but this time I had the good fortune to get hold of a paperback version, and the photos blew me away.
A definite five star read for poetry fans.

Beauty in Bloom
Louise Bélanger’s Your Words Your Heart is a remarkable mix of photography and poetry. It is a book which should be savored like a fine meal. So, put away all distractions and journey into Louise’s world of floral and biblical imagery. The poems are captivating and insightful. “Which One Are You” contrasts the 10 lepers whom Christ healed with people today who are “too busy with selfies…” “Which are you? Are you part of the 9 who always has better things to do…” Another standout is “Dew” where the author beautifully compares the dew that falls each morning with God’s grace. The photos are amazing. Bélanger is a master artist who captures the depth and luminosity of a single flower to lush bouquets with breathtaking intimacy. Your Words Your Heart is a book you should surely read. Then, when you soul needs a pick me up, read it again.

A beautiful meditation on the love of God. The poems are filled with such tenderness and the accompanying photographs serve to enhance the reader's enjoyment. I found the pictures helped direct and focus my heart, bringing stillness to my soul. It was the perfect read for All Saints Day, especially since the homily at morning mass centered around the beatitudes, the solemn blessings spoken by Jesus during his Sermon on the Mount.

Worthy of sharing, I believe this collection will speak upliftment to the hearts of those who read it.

Fans of Louise Belanger’s wonderful poetry will be happy to hear she has put out another book in the Your Words series. This one: Your Words Your Heart, is as emotionally stirring as the first two. The poetry is heartfelt, and the accompanying photos are breathtaking. Light appears to glow from within some of the delicate flowers showcased. This author has a definite talent for capturing beauty in nature, and her deep faith is evident through the words on each page. I find these books to be very uplifting, and this one is yet another addition to a collection that is well worth owning.

This is a lovely book of beautiful poetry and nature photography. The images are compelling and show nature in a range of images throughout the year. They are well chosen to accompany the poems alongside them.
The poems are filled with faith and hope. They vary in tone and are often both uplifting and joyful. The poems are also thoughtful and make the reader think as they read.

Such thought provoking poetry and beautiful pictures showing the beauty of God’s creation are contained in this book. A printed hard copy would make a great coffee table book and/or gift.

I loved the different pictures placed among the poems that allow a natural pause between the different topics of the many poems. Disc poems compels a certain topic and begins and ends naturally.

Your Words Your Heart is a poetry book by Louise Bélanger, who is also the photographer. There are twenty six poems, with photographs scattered throughout the book. The poems were written from the end of 2021 to mid 2022. The photographs are generally flowers and plant life. The themes of the poems are things like emotions and the way the author feels about life, and there is a variety of portions dedicated to religion; Christianity specifically.

One of the initial poems I really liked in the book was “Who Wins?”; a poem about the trust and doubts that live inside us, and the feelings they can generate. Another poem I really liked was “Ripple Effect”, which talks about how actions can affect the world in a variety of ways, and things like consequences of those actions. A later poem that I enjoy is “Detours”, which is a poem about taking different paths, in the hopes of seeing more in life, and gaining new experiences. I think it was a nice, pleasant poem.

For me, I’m not really a religious person, so I don’t feel the same way about these poems that another person might, in consideration to the religious stuff. However, I still think a lot of the poems are absolutely readable, even if one isn’t religious. For example, there’s a poem I really liked, “Which one…” The poem talks about being in a boat, out at sea, in danger. And the author mentions “The One” who is coming to help you. While they are referring to God, you are able to interpret it as someone you know or someone else who might be metaphorically reaching out to help you in some way. I quite like the poem in general; I think it captures a good sense of being able to see the troubles around you, but not being able to see who might be coming to save you. Though I admit that, for a lot of references to Christianity, I simply don’t understand what the author means. However, that’s just a personal thing; someone else might be able to enjoy those poems more than I do, and they might be more understanding of the references and can interpret them properly.

As for the photographs, I quite like them. There’s a lot of good flowers and vibrant colours to see. There’s some really nice close ups of blooms, and a nice range of flowers. I think it was a good showcase of Bélanger’s photographic work.

Overall, I think there were some good poems in the book. I’ll admit that I didn’t like all of them, but I think a lot of you might like the ones I disliked; it’s just personal preferences. And the photographs are a nice touch. I think the book was definitely worth a read. There are a couple of other books in the series, and I might give them a read at some point.

I have read the first two books of poetry and photos that Louise Bélanger created, but this third volume is IMHO far superior! The first two were filled with fear (written when forced to stay home due to Covid) but Your Words Your Heart jumps up and down with joy and happiness.

There are a couple of poetry snippets I really liked as I felt they show the depth of Louise's writing ability.

Others have mentioned the poem "Tinsel" and I enjoyed it overall, but was captivated by the imagery with:

Giggling children
Running with wet mittens

I read that and my mind erupted with memories of playing out in the snow with my brothers and sisters. Thank you for that Louise... {{{warm hugs}}}

And From “With You”:

The tapestry on the wall is comfort
And serenity is all you can breathe

What a peaceful piece of imagery! I hadn't thought of combining the word serenity with breathing, but it's true. Walk outside on a day after a light rain when the earth is damp and the trees and flowers are cloaked in sparkling rain drops ...And the breath you draw in is filled with serenity. A peacefulness that surrounds your heart, your very soul ...that's what I experienced when reading that last line.

And I would be remiss if I didn't mention my favorite photographs! All of the roses, Louise, are of course stunning but there were two others that I felt touched me in some manner. The first one follows “Did You Choose To Keep” and it is a wonderful photo of a tree in silhouette with a cold cloudy sky and a setting (or rising) sun positioned near the horizon.

And then there is the photo of the lilacs! They are one of my favorite bushes to look forward to blooming each spring. Lilacs, forsythia and honey suckle bloom along one wall of my yard, and they combine to produce another earthly scent that will wrap you up in both peace and happiness!

I highly recommend this newest volume, Your Words Your Heart, by Louise Bélanger , and rate it a solid 5 stars!
