Mexico has lost the path of development. The mistake relies in focusing on the past instead of defining a sustainable route towards the future. On 2025, most of the Mexican population will be in the middle age segment and the productive potential of that generation should not be underestimated. The possibilities for stimulating and redirecting the strategies that would drive us to a sustained development are already present in Mexico, we just need to organize and innovate in order to adopt the necessary measures. The present book contains the guidelines for directing the country towards a far-reaching reform process. The authors here analyze the pending tasks for modernizing the economy and the society: the myths that surround economic growth, poverty alleviation, loss of competitiveness, the persistency of informal economy, the educative challenge and the strengthening of the bilateral relationship with the United States. Through the discussion of these issues, we attempt to promote an integral transformation of the country by the adoption of a development strategy that combines governmental action capacity, a clearer vision of politicians as well as the efforts of society as a whole. Mexico has to recover the path to growth and development. In a context of continuous transformation, it is time to decide, organize and innovate. The costs of present inaction will be huge for Mexicans and their expectations on for a better living. Time is running out. We have to further a political and economical process guided by a will for development. If Mexico s future is built today, now it is the moment to get to work.
