BOO! It's Halloween, and the school is having a spooky school disco to celebrate. But who, or what, is haunting the school hallways? There's a spooky mystery at school, in the sixth hilarious case in the award-winning Anisha, Accidental Detective series! It's Halloween and everyone is excited about the school disco. It's a bit much for me - all that dressing-up and dancing. I'd rather cosy up with a good book, but Milo, Mindy and Manny are all super excited. Or at least, they were excited, until all these strange things started happening - messages appearing on the whiteboard, lights flickering on and off, books flying off the library shelves... Some of the other kids have been whispering that the school is haunted, but Mr Graft says that if the spooky mischief doesn't stop, then the disco will be cancelled. Looks like a mission for me, Anisha, accidental ghost detective!Praise for the Anisha, Accidental Detective series:Winner of the Sainsbury's Children's Book Prize and of the Crimefest Best Crime Novel for ChildrenShortlisted for the Blue Peter Book Award, the British Book Awards Children's Book of the Year, and the Laugh Out Loud Book Award"DELIGHTFUL! I am a big fan of this series and to have a spooktacular one just in time for Halloween is brilliant! When spooky things start to happen in school, it’s down to Anisha and pals to solve the mystery and save the Halloween disco. These books are so full of fun! And Anisha’s family never fail to make me smile.
These books are always a hit and this one is no exception. Perfect for the spooky season - and with a valuable lesson.
Anisha, Milo Manny and Mindy are on a quest to find out who is responsible for the haunting of their school. Following the clues they not only solve the mystery but help solve the problem and put things right.
If you have a young detective then this book is definitely a must read - a perfect investment for the upcoming half term.
Add in a crisis at home and this really is a story that will keep readers entertained.
Anisha’s family are a very likeable bunch and the story reads well aided by the wonderful Illustrations. A great read for children and I would recommend age 7+.
A perfect series for any classroom to build representation through high quality stories.
Anisha’s school is having a Halloween disco and Anisha doesn’t like discos. One of the skeleton decorations moved and lots of people said the school was haunted! Anisha investigated and found out that Beena did it, because her birthday party was on the day of the disco. Beena said she would never be mean to them again!
Although I haven't read the other books in this series, this middle grade novel was a fun read and is definitely the perfect one to read right around this time of the year.
I found this was enjoyable and I liked the illustrations that are featured throughout the book too.
