Thoroughly revised and updated, this text provides the basic economic tools for students to understand the problems facing the countries of Latin America. In this third edition, Patrice Franko analyzes challenges to the neoliberal model of development and highlights recent macroeconomic changes in the region. Including charts and tables with the most current data available, the book also offers a wealth of new boxed discussions and vignettes.
Great introduction that provides a clear understanding of economic development in Latin America and will help explain economic terms and concepts and how they relate to the Latin American context in a clear and concise fashion
This is one of the better written eceonomics books I've been assigned to read, and its surpisingly cheap for a textbook. I actually got into it enough that I read beyond what was assigned for class.
This an academic text...but I actually found it very interesting and easy to understand. Loved the sections on health, education, and rural development.
