USA Today Bestselling Author Kameron Claire writes stories with witty tongues, wicked needs, and wild deeds.
Her full length and short, steamy contemporary and paranormal romances emphasize strong female leads and the protective alpha men who know how to love and support kick-ass, take-charge women. She may not NEED him to save her, but she WANTs him to love, support, and most of all, RAVISH her.

Deacon needs a fake fiancé to become his family owned football teams GM. He’s always been committed to the game and after his career/almost live ending back injury during a game he has been committed to managing the team. He hasn’t had time to date or have a relationship. The most flirting he has done in years was with London, the woman who called from his high school to invite him to the class reunion. So when his dad tells him about the ‘must be married’ clause his grandfather insists on he tells his dad he’s seeing a woman he knew in high school and they are serious. At the reunion he sees London, she manning the registration desk and is surprised to see him since he had told her he wouldn’t be attending. He’s intrigued by her and after talking to her he realizes he remembers her. They didn’t run in the same circles so he never thought of her after high school. He immediately likes that she’s not fawning over him and isn’t even charmed by him. London had a bit of a rough childhood and a very bad experience with her best friend turned bully in high school so she’s jaded and reserved. When she leaves the reunion Deacon chases after her and they go out for gelato. He asks her on a date and she agrees. He lays out his need for a fake fiancée and offers her a nice chunk of money for her help. A little disappointed that he’s not really interested in her she agrees. But as they get to know one another the develop genuine feelings and decide to go for a real relationship. The ladies of the family are thrilled and really like London, the men except the grandfather all know it’s fake. When the grandfather tells Deacon and London he knows they are faking and he won’t give the GM position to Deacon, London speaks up and tells him she loves Deacon and will stand beside him no matter what. Satisfied they are really in love grandfather gives his blessing. Epilogue months later with the team winning a championship, Deacon getting the GM position, and their wedding one week away.

In order for Deacon to become the next GM of his family’s football team he has to be either married or in a serious relationship. After going to his high school reunion he sees London and knows she’s the one who can help him out with a fake relationship. London hated high school but promised her best friend she’d help with the class reunion. After chatting with Deacon and getting to know him better, she excepts his crazy plan. This was an interesting fake relationship romance with lots of chemistry. London and Deacon had a connection from the start and became friends and then lovers. London was independent and didn’t trust easily due to her past. Deacon always had his eyes set on the future and was driven to succeed but in the end would he get what he wanted most? I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It all starts with one secret bylaw and ends with a HEA...and the journey to get there is delicious
Play Action Fake by Kameron Claire is part of the multi-author Gridiron Love series. It is also the first book in the Scott sibling "series". Deacon Scott is a retired professional quarterback who played for his families team, the Rocky Mountain Rangers. and now is the Director of Football Operations. His grandfather is getting ready to retire which means that his father will take over his grandfathers place and Deacon will then become the new General Manager of the team. It is a job that he has been groomed for since he retired. But his grandfather has added a stipulation to who takes over the GM position, and thus would inherit the organization. The person must be a family person, so that it always stays in the family. With no time for a relationship and no good girl friends to ask Deacon is not sure what he is going to do. But there is hope as a couple of months ago he was contacted about his 15 year high school reunion. At the time Deacon had talked and flirted with the woman on the phone a couple of times. So he decides he will attend after all, in hopes of connection with someone who might fit the bill of a no benefits relationship. London Black is struggling to find enough work to pay all her bills and keep her father above water also. She is a creative goth girl at heart, who can definitely pull off the sexy goth queen look and the attitude to match. London's best friend is a perpetual ray of sunshine and so London helps her on the planning committee for the reunion. It was London that had talked with Deacon a couple of times to try and get him to attend the reunion, as that way they could use his attendance to get other people to come. So when Deacon walks in and London is at the registration table she is peeved, but she can understand his reasoning for not telling anyone he would be there. Deacon is intrigued by the beautiful goth queen who he realizes was the woman who he had talked with. He is determined to get to know her as there is a pull he can not explain, but one he wants to get to know better. It all starts with a drink, then a bad high school joke/rumour coming back to haunt London, and Deacon is ready to fight her battle and keep her safe. But he needs a serious girlfriend, well maybe a fiancee...well maybe a wife, to get the GM position and stay in line to inherit the team. Will London be the woman that ends up being his future?
I really enjoyed this first book in the Scott siblings series. It is a very engaging story that packs a lot into it, but it is not overcrowded. I really loved London as she is a fighter who walks a line that she is not sure where it is. Deacon soon finds he is crossing the line he initially drew, and then blowing it all away.
Grandfather’s Dislike. Fantastic book. Deacon is next in line to take over the role of GM for the family’s team. So, he is shocked when he’s told that he has to be married to get the position, a rule set up by his grandfather to ensure a family run team. He thinks he has the perfect woman in mind to help him pull off his plan. He’s only talked to her on the phone but, he wants to get to know her before he even knows about the rule. So, Deacon goes to their high school reunion just to meet her. London is surprised to see him since he declined to attend. She talks to him for a bit and informs Deacon she has no intention of joining the party. He asks her to have a drink with him at the bar when she’s done with checking everyone in. She finds him surrounded by people she doesn’t want to be around and heads to the other end of the bar. Deacon instantly leaves the crowd and goes to London and orders drinks for them. After a rude comment is made by a drunk bully she walks out. Deacon goes after her and asks her to go somewhere else with him so they can talk. As they sit in the coffee shop he tells her that he has a favor to ask of her. As he lays out his problem and plan she wonders why he chose her. London agrees to help Deacon by pretending to be engaged but, after six weeks he decides he doesn’t want to pretend anymore. She feels the same way and they make it real. But, what happens when his grandfather declares that London is not good enough to be part of the family?.

Thanks to Kameron Claire and her team for selecting me for this ALC. And a HUGE!!! thank you to the wonderful author herself for writing this amazing book. THANK YOU!!! ❤❤❤
Deacon and London.
I love me a fake dating gets complicated with feelings but with this book it was insta-attraction and while they acted like they didn't like each other, they did. I loved the fast pace of the book and how they fell for each other. I love how he supported her because she said she doesn't have an ongoing job and he got her one at his job. He didn't act all weird when she saos she doesn't drink, he just got the waiter to change it and the fact that he was so sweet to the neighborhood kids that's always looking out for her. This man was incredible. She was also a very strong and independent FMC who was a ride or die for Deacon. She stood by him.
Overall I give this book a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. I'm always a fan of instalove romances and Kameron Claire books get to the point real quick and they're always filled with love and of course spice so you know it's amazing. This was no different and Deacon has a filthy dirty mouth on him, these two were already hot and heavy before they even made it official so you know that when they actually got together it would be explosive🔥🔥🔥.
Play Action Fake is a fun, fast read with steamy twist and strong turn that makes this no ordinary fake relationship story.
With his grandfather planning on retiring, Deacon knows the GM job for the teams should be his, that is until his father lets me know of his grandfather's stipulations.... the team is a family business, and the job should go to a family man.
Determine to appear in a serious relationship, Deacon hoped to find someone at his reunion to help him. He did not expect the beautiful woman at the check in desk to catch his attention. London remembered Deacon from school and had interviewed him, it was her question that made her stand out to Deacon when he was always focus on the future.
I love London's character, she strong, determined and real. When confronted by his grandfather, she did not shy away or back down. She gave as good as she got. She was not about to let someone walk over her. Deacon and London have a great connection and their passion is electric.
Amazing story.

Deacon, the male lead, was focused on his football career and then his family’s football club; he’s never thought about a family until his father tells him that his grandfather requires he be married to takeover a leadership role. Knowing his high school reunion is approaching, he claims an old relationship. At the reunion, he approaches London, the female lead, who was never popular in school, because she actually banters with him and pushes back AND he’s attracted to her, as a business arrangement. Then he starts to want more…
This novella is dual POV, well written, and an interesting fake relationship to lovers romance. I enjoyed the strength of London’s character, especially in light of her high school years, and Deacon’s creativity. I also appreciated Deacon’s willingness to take a stand when it mattered and London’s active support of that stand.

Deacon Scott was the star quarterback of the Rocky Mountain Rangers football team which his grandfather owns. He had a career ending injury when sacked in a game and hurt 3 vertebrae in his back. He got better and threw himself into learning all about the business and wants to be the next General Manager. There is only one big problem with his plan. His grandfather mandated that all of the GMs have to be married. Deacon goes to his 15 year high school reunion hoping to find someone to be his fake fiancé.
London is one of the organizers of the reunion and is surprised when Deacon shows up.
Will London talk to Deacon even though she wasn’t one of the cool kids in high school? Will Deacon find someone to be his fake fiancé? Will Deacon convince his grandfather to still give him the GM position?.

Deacon goes to his 15-year high school reunion. He's hoping to find a fake fiancée so he can become the GM for his family's football team. He flirts with London who is handling the registration table and planning on a quick exit. When some untrue rumors rise up, London leaves the reunion with Deacon closely following her. He takes her out. London wonders why then finds out he wants a fake fianIcée. She agrees then both start having feelings for each other. His grandfather is suspicious of them. Can London win over his grandfather? Will they let their feelings turn into reality?
I enjoyed this story. I liked Deacon and London. They were opposites but made for each other. They don't want their attraction to me any more than a short-term affair, but their hearts have other plans. Deacon's family I could have kicked in their backsides once or twice. I liked how London told his grandfather where to get off. It was good to see.
Deacon needs to be in a committed relationship before his grandfather will trust him as the team's general manager. He finds London at his high school reunion. He was intrigued by her when she called as part of the reunion committee the week before to ask if he was attending. There is an immediate spark but London doesn't feel like like she would fit with him, besides they had not run in the same circles in high school. It is fun watching Deacon fall for London hard and fast as they pretend to be engaged, even though they hardly spend any time with each other. London is strong and kind and caring and absolutely her own person. Deacon is sweet and caring and driven to be the GM for his family's football team. I love how his mom and sister accept London without question. His dad and grandfather are harder to like. This short story is well worth the time. The audio version is very well done as a duet with nice tone, inflection and attitude.
Deacon is single, a sexy alpha male and the former star quarter back of the family owned team Rocky Mountain Rangers. He set to be the next GM of the Rocky Mountain Rangers except for dear old granddad has put a clause in the bylaws that he must be married. Deacon goes to his 15 year high school reunion and he sees London who is one of the organizers of the reunion and the light bulb goes on. Deacon thinks that London would make the perfect fake fiancé.
Will London agree to being Deacon’s fake fiancé, will the relationship go from fake to the real thing, will Deacon become the next GM of the Rocky Mountain Rangers?

Deacon has always known he would one day take over the GM position of the Rocky Mountain Rangers because it's family owned but he didn't realize his grandfather has a stipulation that the GM has to be married. Now he needs to find someone to be his fake fiance at his school reunion. London is having a rough time and needs money so when Deacon comes to her with an offer she takes it. I loved that Deacon and London started out in a fake relationship and things got real pretty fast. This is a quick read with family drama, strong characters, and a great ending. Play Action Fake is part of the multi-author Gridiron Love series and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Deacon has been groomed to take over the GM position Rocky Mountain Rangers, a team his family has owned for sixty years. He learns that the bylaws require him to be married to take over, he has never had a serious girlfriend. Maybe if he finds a serious girlfriend his grandfather will cut him some slack. When he sees London at his high school reunion, she just might be the one to help.
They enter a fake relationship, but the more time they spend together the more the lines blur. She is like the perfect one for him, she actually knows football.

Deacon needs a girl that'll accept a fake relationship. Once he receives an invitation to his high school reunion he figures that's a good place to look for a candidate.
London is helping out with the reunion. When Deacon shows up after declining the invite she's a little peeved. He confesses he'd kept quiet because of his celebrity status.
Deacon soon sets his eye on London to assist him with his situation. After sharing a kiss to demonstrate to those watching, sparks are flying and what was something fake has turned around to become fierce and very real!
Tender, simple romance 3.5 I chose this story because the summary presented a hero, Deacon, with an arrogant air, focused on himself, while London, the one who will help him seems on the verge of ruin, ready for anything. The characters aren't really that extreme, but they do have a friendly side, and you can feel the tenderness growing in their relationship when they don't expect anything from each other at first. The story is tender, and gently rises in the relationship of the two characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Deacon Scott was always focused on his football career, even during high school and that's why he never dated. Now he needs a fiancée, otherwise, he won't be able to assume the position of manager of the family team. He goes back to high school to propose to a classmate to be his fake fiancée. What he didn't know is that London would be much more than a fake bride. Romantic and sweet, Deacon is a perfect gentleman and their love may have started under a false pretense, but it was never fake.

Aww, I knew from the first page that I would love Deacon. He is kind, has his ego in check, is focused, and when he falls, he falls hard. He may be a professional athlete, but is easygoing and cares about his fans. London is sweet and can hold her own. Even after the life she lived with an alcoholic father and addict for a mother, she persevered and became someone special. I love her sass and loved how she put Deacon's grandfather in his place earning his respect and love. Such a great swoon-worthy read!!
This book is about Deacon and and London. Deacon needs a wife to be able to take the GM position of the football team. London agree to the business arrangement. It has some hot and steamy scenes. It was a short quick read. It was an addictive read that I couldn’t put down. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

Deacon and London are absolutely delightful. I love how Deacon sees through, yet appreciates, London's initially frosty and snarky exterior, and the way London choses to trust and let Deacon past her defenses. Their honest interactions, sizzling chemistry, and resilience amidst life's challenges was wonderful to read. I was completely engaged and invested from the first page and loved the HEA.

What started out as a fake date ends up being the best thing that ever happened to Deacon Scott. He can only become general manager of the Rocky Mountain Rangers football team if he is married or engaged. At his 15 year high school reunion he sees London Black and talks her into being his fake fiancé. What happens when they develop true feeling for each other and his grandfather finds out and wants London gone. This is an excellent love story, loved London and Deacon together. Perfect amount of steam, excellent story and I loved it.
Play, Action, Fake is a well-written romance that kept my attention throughout. This Sports, Fake fiancée, Opposites Attract, Billionaire tale was full of great characters that drew me into their story. I loved London and Deacon with their bantering, easy-going but focused friendship. I was cheering them on as their friendship and relationship developed into more. Their story is worth the read!
