The bride is stunning. The groom is delightful. Shame the best man is a class A jerk.
When my BFF asks me to be her maid of honor, I’m, well, honored. Until she introduces me to the best man and I realize we’ve already met, just this morning when… wait for it…
I accidentally spilled a cup of OJ all over his pristine designer suit.
Not my finest hour, but he didn’t have to be a dick about it either. And now—God help me—I’m forced to spend five days on a paradise island with a guy who’s the complete opposite of me.
He’s bossy, a clean freak, and hates tardiness. I’m sassy, messy, and will turn up late to my own funeral.
But if I dig real deep, there are some similarities.
I loathe him, and he despises me. He loves to win. I hate to lose. He’s a playboy… and I’m a playgirl.
Which is why it shouldn’t surprise me that we’re dynamite between the sheets.
Not that it matters. Life is too short to commit to one guy. Especially when that guy is Mr. Billionaire Penn Kingcaid.
Tracie Delaney writes billionaire romance where the men fall hard and the women make them work for it. Even though she has more than 35 novels published across many different series, Tracie still considers herself a reader first and foremost and loves fangirling over her favorite authors.
At night she likes to curl up on the sofa with her two furbabies, Murphy & Cooper, and binge-watch shows on Netflix. There may be wine involved.
A nice and lighthearted romance read, funny, steamy, where the banter and chemistry between Gia and Penn were amazing. Their relationship was so explosive!!! 💥
Enemies to lovers this is my troupe to read and this had that in spades at the start of this story plus the dynamic between this couple and the banter was just brilliant. There was plenty of steam throughout this story and laugh out loud moments, there was just never a dull moment between Penn & Gia as they are like two peas in a pod as they were so alike. Another fabulous read in the Kingcaid world where there is definitely fun times and romance along in this story, can't wait for the next book.4.5 stars.
What do you do, when your enemies have gone to lovers and everything is on its way to the HEA, but you need a big moment to make them realize/ admit their feelings and also to add extra pages to the book, so it doesn’t become a short novella?
Well, you can do one of two things:
You can create an external issue which will bring them closer together, while they plow through it and grow into their relationship or…
You can choose the easy way out, i.e. make them act childish and/or stupid, so you can put them through a ridiculous third act breakup, completely destroying the character arc and cheapening the experience.
The author of this book chose the door number two.
It all started really good, actually. Those characters had an awesome chemistry, great banter and the sassy back and forth was chefs kiss.
And then it all went downhill with the most cliche (soap opera style) miscommunication trope, which led to the third act breakup. I swear, I suffered from second hand embarrassment, reading those parts.
Those characters deserved better. And so did I, even though I know what I’m signing up for with Tracie Delaney. It was just a new low and after a promising beginning, it was more disappointing than it should have been.
Other important words ➞ Funny, snarky, kinky, explosive.
These characters, Penn and Gia, rub off of one another like nobody’s business. Their love/hate relationship literally makes the reader tingle. I know this to be true because I felt it. It takes a lot to make me flustered and several times I got that feeling whilst reading this book!
This author has a way of really capturing her readers. Her words flow so well that before I know it I’ve finished the book and in a slump.
Another massive hit and highly recommended read!
I cannot wait to read Johannes book though. Something tells me that Kingcaid is going to break my heart. And I’m totally here for it.
Note- you may want to read in order. Not necessary but you will have more details going in.
So we take off right after book 1 where older brother Asher meets Kiana. Now it is time for their wedding and time to pick the wedding party. Best man is brother, Penn and Maid of Honor is best friend, Gia.
Gia is running late. She is always running late..to everything. She went out last night, overslept, and now is late to work. Since she is already late, what’s a few more minutes so she stops and gets something to eat. Food and OJ in hand, she checks her phone, no doubt work wondering where she is, and BAM! She runs right into a man and her OJ goes all down his very white, very expensive shirt. Oops!
Penn is having a terrific morning. Not! He has a very important meeting with his family, and they find it hilarious that my, not now white shirt, is orange. The girl was infuriating. Why couldn’t she pay attention and watch out where she was going? Her nose stuck in her phone. Ugh! Well, life goes on. After the meeting, Asher asks Penn to be his Best Man and he is thrilled..and honored. They make dinner plans so Asher and Kiana can introduce the Best Man to the Maid of Honor. Imagine the surprise when Penn walks to the table and finds Kiana’s bf and MOH, Gia, OJ girl.
Such a fun read. Love the banter between Penn and Gia. They are so much alike. You know the chemistry and the bedroom are going to be off the charts hot. My pet peeve is a simple misunderstanding or miscommunication and well..it’s in here. Gia Gia Gia. She can be quite frustrating. But, the book was still good and so far the series. So many secrets around the next brother so looking forward to his story next.
This was a great second book in The Kingcaid Billionaires series. I would say I enjoyed 80% of this book. What I absolutely hated was Gia's behavior during the third act breakup, which like enough of the third act breakups already. They're so predictable and unnecessary! Anyway, Gia's actions just seemed so out of character for her. Chapter 3 Gia would have walked right up to Penn and slapped him or something if she saw him with another women, so it seemed very childish and unlike her to just run away crying. (I also hate when the female character has to grovel but that's just me) Overall, I loved Gia and Penn together and thought this was a cute and funny read, but can we please for the love of everything that is good, be done with the stupid third act breakup in every romance novel. Why don't we get a twist or an almost breakup but then the two characters actually communicate like they've been doing for the entire book!!

Second book in series we get Penn the youngest kingcaid a story along with Gia who is best friend of keina they have been picked to be best man and maid of honour for the wedding of Ash and keep from book 1 having never met they have a disastrous first meeting she spills orange juice down his shirt when they bump into each other and only realised who the other is when they meet later They are like copies of each other both driven strong characters who both have had to overcome difficulties which forge who they are tand their beliefs It's a hot instant love hate relationship which gets hotter but secrets could cause them issues I devoured this book such a good read

These two characters are hilarious!! Penn, gorgeous billionaire, meets his match! He first meets Gia by accident on the busy streets of NY when he so carelessly bumps into him and destroys his expensive shirt with OJ. Straight off the bat the banter between these two is epic! They give as good they get. Their second encounter is when Asher & Kee invite them to meet up as Best Man and MOH to discuss wedding details. This story is full of banter, witty remarks and a whole of lot spice! Don’t forget the FOOD!! Our girl Gia comes with a very large appetite! Fun, sweet, HEA….great read.
I’m usually very generous with my ratings, but here I just couldn’t. I like a good “enemies to lovers” story, but in this case I didn’t buy it. She was annoying, he was annoying. There was no real plot. His “guilt issue” felt overly exaggerated, her infantile reactions were exaggerated and at time I was wondering are they adults or toddlers.
I kinda have hopes for the last one in the series, because I liked the glimpses of the MMC so far. But I think I need to read something different in between and hope that I won’t be disappointed when I finally continue. Because the first one was rather decent (gave it 3 stars) compared to this one.
What a fun read this second book turned out to be. The dynamic and banter between both main characters Penn and Gia is hilarious and their chemistry is off the charts!! This is a light, fun read with plenty of funny moments and very steamy scenes. If you are into that, then you will definitely enjoy this book. I must say I liked this book much more than the first one, and even though reading the first book can enhance your reading experience, this book can be read as a standalone. Enjoy!
Book 2 of the Kingcaid family shenanigans. I love this family, there's never a dull moment. Penn and Gia are two of a kind. They're so alike it's unreal. They say opposites attract but not in their case. Gia is a hot head she does and says whatever she likes. I laughed, I cringed, and I high fived her throughout the book. Even her childish outbursts didn't bother me because as the story continues we see where her insecurities stem from. I look forward to book 3.
This is a fun story with many twists and turns. It contains the wedding from a couple in the previous book in the series. His brother and her best friend have their wedding and they are the best man and maid of honor. It turns out they start off hating but end up loving each other. The one thing I am kinda missing is an over arching story. I prefer a bit of mystery but with this one there's not slot of mystery. It is fun though with humour and drama.
This book was a fantastic enemies-to-lovers story! From the very first meeting, it was pure chaos and hilarity, absolutely loved it. The way their relationship evolved from tension to tenderness was so well done. I really enjoyed seeing how their connection deepened and how they went from antagonistic to completely in love.
It was a fun, lighthearted read, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it!
Penn and Gia. Two people who are so alike that they spark “hatred” towards the other. In reality, that spark is attraction. I enjoyed this story and the back and forth that was the relationship between Penn and Gia. I look forward to continuing the series with Johannes.
I go this far and am about to continue on to the 3rd one. I honestly don’t know what to write but definitely it’s nothing negative because I’m warming with Tracie’s writing style. I’m appreciative most on the issues being thrown upon on each of this series. So far, she’s not just writing for sweet nothings but she’s doling out eye openers on life struggles that readers could relate to.
Well another winner in the books for me!! Loving this new author I have found. This story was great. Gia and Penn - a favorite couple of mine. They r indeed hilarious. Don’t miss this series and give the author a try. Read to see sparks flying between Penn and Gia! I hope you enjoyed this book as much as I did reading it
Gia and Penn are perfectly matched. This book is full of fun, snark, heat, hopes, dreams and angst. The characters are brilliantly created and you are drawn into their lives and emotions. Looking forward to more in this series.
Yet again another amazing book. Absolutely loved the banter between these two... gosh they are well suited. Really can't wait for johannes and Ella's story the anticipation is killing me....
The push, pull and banter Gia and Penn have together is hilarious but will make you want to bang their heads together! The hidden insecurities they both have and their silent struggles make you love them! I can't wait for the final book!!!
Absolutely loving this series by Tracey Delaney. Penn and Gia make a great couple and watching their romance develop makes a great read. Funny, great dialogue, steamy sex and a fab couple. What more is there to ask for? I eagerly await the next in the series!
Gia and Penn story was just okay. I had to skip over the constant bickering between the in the beginning of the book. It was totally childish in my opinion plus the ending was predictable. I hope Johannes book is much better and as good as Asher book.
