Bound de Jessica Grayson y Aria Winter Serie Ice World Warriors libro 2
Argumento:
I really liked the first book in the Ice World Warriors series and while I still enjoyed this book too, I found the writing style somehow sloppy. There were so many repetitions throughout the story and it always seems like that the previous conversation where the same thing was mentioned before didn't even happen??? And I was so confused and irritated the whole time and the conflict with the miscommunication at the end was so unnecessary and also fell into the whole "you guys already talked about this before so why are you doing this now?" spiel. There was also some stuff that was basically directly taken from the first book that felt super repetitive as well and with some sentences I had the impression they were just copy/pasted. Idk, I am disappointed that it was no more than the same book as the first installment but with only a few changes. The macro plot is moving forward, though, and I am curious to see where this is heading so I might pick up the next book.
Everything this author writes is romance gold. Her love stories are full of swoon and emotional connection and steam. With characters who are nuanced and vulnerable and dynamic, incredible world building, and thrilling plots, it’s like diving into an adventure every time I read one of her books.
And thankfully, so far, always safe. No sliming with others, no forging emotional and mental bonds by being physically intimate with others. I truly appreciate an author who can consistently deliver these elements and I can’t wait to read more from her! (I need more time in my day!)
I had such high hopes for the second book but it felt like a repeat of the first with slightly different characters. I found myself skipping a lot of stuff because I already knew what was going to come. I wish it had been written in a different way but connected at the same time. Can't bring myself to read the third book it would be more of the same.
i love this world! This is Alana and Vorek story! Running, escaping and finding true love ❤️. Its very swoony and easy to read! i highly recommend! Im glad some sort of an alliance was form between different species and i hope they get work together more. After all, they both have the same goal and enemy.
All the books are the same. And as someone who loves that hallmark like familiarity of a lovestory that wouldnt be a bad thing HOWEVER This series is literally like the exact same story same characters same issues same concept SAME PHRASES to the point where id you removed their names you wouldnt be able to tell the books apart.
So for that reason i have a dislike. And the first book i liked more because of course that was original. Its repetitive i find the characters in the same story have essentially the same conversation over and OVER and OVER again. Like to the point where it feels like groundhog day movie. Which i hate with the firey passion of a thousand suns.
The overall world concept is great like universe wise and the whole various species and yeah the lore basically is fun.
The akai are fkd up and theres a lot of dark shit like dead girls and being stalked and hunted and mind raped and attacked and like just ive already started the third book with the fae guy and its the exact same i thought perhaps now thag the various species tribes whatever had a understanding and werent just swinging dicks around that the story would move on from this same ol bs but alas no. The dudes all have the same personality and frankly the chicks do as well. Most of the backstories are the exact same and like idk i can usually deal with as i memtioned hallmark same old comfort food for the soul type hea stuff but this is not that theres more cons than pros and with each book it seems to get worse.
Now will i finish book 3 probably because i hate dnfing books because it feels like i suffered for nothing then.
I have hope that maybe the overarching story will progress like all the terrans will be with the alien dudes and its not just gonna be catch em all in the wild and rinse and repeat bs. Like they should be blowing up akai and coming together and such and instead weve got a weird timeline and mind numbing repetitive bs like even when the character has something unique about them its barely mentioned and then theres never an opportunity where they show it or use that in their experiences od survival or adding depth to the story so its like who cares if this persons a healer if they never heal and they all use the exact same gel and do the exact same thing or if shes a chef or whatever but they all live off ration bars and jerky and never forage or cook or use those knife skills or anything like jesus dudes youre building a tribe and you gotta wrangle them all together and just ugh its shit. Like the more ithink about it the more it pisses me off yes because i what i said but also because its wasted potential like the concept could be amazing and should be its just gone about so badly that im like AHHHH. Like if im gonna read such stories i want them to be comforting and happy end worth it. But the romance is like non existent in most cases then all of a sudden theyre together usually due to some mating heat or the like forcing them to actually talk like christ. Or someones in danger and they suddenly declare their feelings like GIVE ME STRENGTH I CANT WITH THESE CHARACTERS. ugh. Theyre homeworlds sound awesome like why why is the sotey like this when it has great ideas that are fkn used. Blah. Angry late night me frustrated beyond belief LIKE I LOVE STAR TREK and the akai and volaryns or whatever their names are are 100% rip off of the spock people who my brain wont tell me the name of right now. And their history of being ragey lunatics and then going all emotionally suppressed and then they have like a spinoff of bad spocks who are viewed the same as akai its not exact but its very much you cant not see that its the same shit with a different dress on. And then like the ice planet barbarians obvs amazing and i wouldnt say ruby dixon came up with the alien mates etc concept but you cant not know her and know how popular shit became because of her and the storyline and books and mates and tribe stuff and this feels like a cheap chinese imitation where the english is wrong and the characters are rip offs but like slightly changed enough to avoid copyright and like a rough draft of a homage mized with like star trek and like typical earth fantasy shifter world stuff and like thats a weird mish mash of stuff that isnt executed well enough to make sense and gives you a headache much like my review style of just write it all out and hope for the best which is not what you want when selling a final product. Idk i just hell im gonna hope it improves and im gonna skim all the books since i already have them and pick ojt the stuff thats relevant to the orcharching plot of akai bad lets kill them and then try to all come together and leave the planet type deal. And ignore everything else. I would hope the wolf dudes would be different as the fae seems slightly more likeable than the previous couples but given what ive seen of the morons so far they seem stubborn aggressive and seem to make shit 100 times worse so that moron alpha bs is not what im about.
I loved this book! The growing relationship between Vorek and Alana was beautiful to watch. Alana is a doctor and is brave and strong- a fighter- who endured torture and pain when enslaved to elf-like aliens (although actually more like vampires) called A'kai who fed on her blood and agonizingly ripped into her mind via a forced mind link. V'loryn alien Vorek's species is similar to the A'kai, coming from a common ancestor, and sharing some physical traits and similar abilities. The V'loryn are telepaths able to transmit and receive thoughts and emotions through touch. It was fascinating to learn about how the V'loryn can utilize (or prevent using) this ability with others, and even more so when Alana and Vorek share experiences and emotions together through the sharing of minds. I love how respectful Vorek is of Alana, not only in consideration of the trauma and abuse she's suffered, but simply in regards to another person who deserved respect, boundaries, and consent. Alana is the perfect partner for Vorek and brings out emotions in him that he's never felt.
In addition to the budding romance, this book has good action as Vorek attempts to bring Alana back to his people while they struggle to avoid being hunted by another species. And in contrast to those hostile interactions, we get to see peaceful interaction between V'loryns and the fae-like Aerilon aliens. So it felt like a very nice balance. This book also gives a good sense that appearances may not be all as they seem with the other alien species. A wonderful book continuing this series. Definitely give it a read! 5 stars
The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was competent, with the wintry landscape of this world coming to life. The characterization was okay, with the hero and heroine being mostly sympathetic, though the internal conflict between them was somewhat clumsily drawn. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and romantic, with swoony Fated Mates elements. The heat level in this novel was two chili peppers, which is typically tamer than I prefer but which was enjoyable in this case. The plot was full of action and danger, and as a consequence the pacing was very quick. My eyes were glued to my Kindle! There was some tiresome angst which I felt was not well justified and high stakes throughout, which I did enjoy. This novel used the Fated Mates trope, the Road Trip trope, and the Forced Proximity trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. The characterization was three stars and the development of the romantic relationship was four stars. I therefore rounded up and gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I may buy myself a keeper copy of this whole series. I will wait and see.
I received a free advance review copy of this book, and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I’m loving this series so far, this is the second book and it is everything I expected and more. It’s well written, has fated mates, lots of steamy scenes and Vorek and Alana get their happy ever after. While searching for the Terran females, Vorek hears a scream, a female scream. He rushes to where it’s coming from and sees a female trying to fight off the A’kai soldier that wants to drink her blood. Vorek fights him off and then tells her they have to get away and fast as there are Lycaons tracking them. They only just get away but are unable to go to the ship due to the weather, they will need to stay in a cave. Alana is very skittish and frightened but not of Vorek, this is because for the past five years she has dreamed of him every night. Unfortunately they have to move from the cave but disaster strikes when they fall in water as Vorek can’t swim and Alana will freeze quickly in the frigid temperatures. Once they get to a safe place Vorek senses the Lycaons are still tracking them. They need to get closer to the ship to be able to comm their allies to fly them back to the ship. Along the way Vorek tells Alana she is his fated mate and when they get back to the ship Vorek enters his mating cycle, he locks himself away so he does not hurt Alana by accident but when she finds out she goes to his quarters and declares her love for him and asks him to claim her. Once their bond is cemented they will be together for life and both of them can’t think of anything better.

Alana was woken early from cryo. Something had attacked the ship. Her next awakening is to the A'kai, who've kept them as blood slaves. They're determined to find Terra so they can have all the humans. Luckily the ship gets pulled apart in a wormhole and everyone has to evacuate. Even better, the refugees already here hate slavery and the A'kai.
Spoilers ahead. Yeah. This one is every bit as abrupt as the last. Grayson's main series and spin offs are much better detailed, with great bonding moments. These are speed railed and abreviated, barely even half stories in comparison. And the repeated phrasing is a bit annoying. Every time it's mentioned it's always this whole phrase: "the sacred blood ritual of the S’acris". Her hair is the sun, her smile is like the sun. Winter's main story lines consist of not communicating, and that comes into play here. Assumptions are made, even after she says she wants him. It's like their conversation never took place. I'll look for the continuation of the main series but am going to pass on these. Those looking for quick reads may enjoy these and I don't want to just rip them so I'll stick to the main sets. Also, the editing is not to Grayson's usual standards. Quotation marks are dropped or added randomly, run on sentences, chopped sentences, repeated thoughts, comas for address dropped, plurals with apostrophes- little things but ones not seen in her other series.
Alana awakens from her stasis early her ship has been boarded and everyone is in danger she is necked unconscious and awakens again to a nightmare strange alien slavers and alien vampires her captivity is awful and she and some others are forced to flee there slavery ship when they get sucked into a wormhole that leads them to and icy planit with its own secrets other aliens and some of them hate slavers.
Vorek his race is often mistaken for there enemies the ones that drink blood he hates them he lost his sister because of them so when his people discover that they have crashed on there planet and they have slaves he knows they must help. He finds his fated mate fighting for her life at the hands of his enemy. There journey to get back to his people is full of danger everyone wants Alana why.
So I liked the word building in the story the dissipation of the planet and the other alien races my only complaint some of the scenes seemed cut a little short and the ending threw me it just stopped maybe it was my ARC copy I'm not sure other wise I liked the book.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
Alana has hung on to her dream man for years. He is what has got her through the worst time ever being effectively a food source for her owners when she finds herself a slave. When the ship she is on crashes she tries to find her friend but that leads her to be found by another of her so called owners. Vorek is out looking for the Terrans, he sees Alana fighting and saves her. She sees the man from her dreams. Together they have to endure trials and tribulations to get back to his home each saving the other along the way. Vorek knows she is his fated mate but with her time in capture is unsure if she will ever accept him as he is simialr in ways to her former owners. Can love and friendship triumph over prejudice? I haven't wanted to give too much away here as this is a such a wonderful book I want people to read it for themselves.
A wormhole tore the ship apart and it crashed on an ice planet. With human blood slaves available, the A’kai vampire master fed on Alana for his immediate need, forcing a painful intrusive mind link. She is rescued by Commander Vorek of House H’laeth, a V'loryn who recognizes that Alana is his Si’an T’kara, or Fated mate.
She does find herself attracted to him, especially as she begins to trust him more. But his people share a genetic lineage, a common ancestry, with the vampires. Can she truly trust him once she learns that? Is the V'loryn telepathic mind link as painful as what the A’kai force on the humans? Will she be able to fall in love with gentle and kind Vorek?
So read book one yesterday and was hooked loved it so eagerly started book 2 today sad to say book one and book 2 are so similar in the basic storyline it felt like I was reading book 1 in places. To the point, both books had main characters hiding ended up realising they are fated. meeting the rest of their group. learning about the different species ending both the same way Was hoping for more story granted a little bit was different but not much still a good read but maybe not so good back to back. The question is will book 3 give me more story or is it gonna be another book 1 again, in essence, compelled to give it a go to see but not holding much hope.
The V’loryn are the species that are closest to humans in looks. The problem is that that also look like the A'kai(vampire) species. Vorek is out searching for surviving Terrans when he hears a scream. He finds Alana fighting against her capture and enemy. This story has a lot of similarities to the first book. Some of the wording is the same too. But it does not take away much from the overall story. I would love to find out if Voreks brother finds his bondmate. I would love to read a book about Rokan and the healer from book one too. There are so many people that have been introduced that I would love to read more about. Now on to the "fae" book.
I hate to give this book 3.5 stars... but this book is a carbon copy of the 1st in the series. I don't just mean by sequence of events... but right down to the exact same dialog and conversations. It's like reading the same book but with new names. I literally laughed when the intimate scene was THE EXACT SAME.. down to the dialog. Even the part where she says "you didn't...?" And his reply is the same too.
I didn't want to give this book a lower rating, but come on. If you copied and pasted just one paragraph into that database that teachers use to see if you plagiarized... results would come up that this book plagiarized the first book.
The writing in the first book was a bit repetitive but tolerable since it was a new story but this book didn’t just have the same repetitive writing but was pretty much the same story same as the first book with a few minor differences with different characters who were pretty much same characters but with different names and minor differences so it was hard to pretty much read the same story all over again even though there was nothing wrong with the book per say esp if read as a standalone but it does make me hesitant to read the rest of the series if it’s gonna be the same story over and over again even though the others sound interesting
This book was out of this world, haha a pun. But seriously, I loved the characters, especially Alana and Vorek. Alana was such a strong independent woman, as Vorek was a strong warrior, they balance each other perfectly. The story was believable and so much emotion, especially the fear and despair, as Alana and her crew were taken as slaves. Then they see the rest of the people as well. It definitely did not disappoint in the steamy scenes either.

Just wow! I absolutely loved this story! The character development was spot on and I felt I could connect with the characters and understand their feelings and reactions. Vorek and Alana have both been through so much before they meet, and they have to go through a lot together. It was great to see a glimpse of characters from the first book in the series, and get a teaser of who will be featured in book 3.

Grayson did a good job of building a different world with a twist on well-known myths, vampire-like aliens. Alana is rescued from her master by an Alien, Vorek, that claims they are mates. She is hesitant because of her abuse at the hands of her master and Vorek has some secrets as well. The storyline was fast paced with action and adventure. I enjoyed this book and will be looking for more in the series.

It's a good read but I've read other things by this author and she carried almost identical ideas from one series to this one, or maybe vice versa. If a reader doesn't read the other series, then they won't know and it's no big deal, but I would have liked to see more originality between series. I also got a bit annoyed at how often the word "obsidian" was used in this book. Very repetitive in word choice and character development. Otherwise it was honestly a good read and I liked the characters and the world that was created.
I hadn’t read book 1 in this series so luckily for me this book can be read as a standalone, this is an alien sci-fi romance with plenty of blood sucking aliens who are definitely the bad guys and this is Vorek’s and Alana’s story. Sorry guys no spoilers but there’s plenty of action, adventure, suspense, danger, passion and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages, fantastic story I loved it and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.
I was worried after being in the situation with the Akai that falling for a V'loryn might be an issue. I should have trusted Jessica Grayson more. This sequel does not fall victim to the curse of the follow up in a series. I loved it and may have (totally did) added Ms. Grayson's entire backlist to my TBR list.

This is a story of fated mates. They take a long time to get together but it is well worth wait. She is abducted and trapped by aliens that want to enslave and use the humans. It is a story about escaping your captors and fighting back. It has action. bravery and love. It is a well rounded story that will have you eagerly awaiting the next book from her.

Vorek and Alana romance is one that can be seen in your dreams, just as Alana dreamt of Vorek before they ever met. Their's was love at first sight. This book is beyond outstanding. It is beautifully well-written with instant chemistry that leads to some very spicy and deliciously hot scenes of passion. I loved this book and cannot wait to read the next one in the series. Guaranteed HEA!
Sucked into the story from start. Can not wait to find out about the healers story, and what I hopes is the beginning of all the species forming an alliance that will continue if they get rescued. Or decide to stay on the planet. I am speculating but can the worm hole be responsible or taking the humans along the Mars route? Or at least bring them back? Would be reason they stay on the planet to help protect route, humans.
Lara's friend, Alana gets saved by his fated mate a V'loryn. The formula is basically the same in these books. Although, with some differences. Their relationship was cute and sweet, I enjoyed their telepathic connection due to being fated mates, but I wish it was explored more. Some phrases and dialogues are repeated through the books and it sometimes gives a generic feel.
Loving this ice world series! A cold and unforgiving world full of dangerous creatures from earth’s myths, legends and fairy tails! A new ship full of vile(vampire) aliens with a bunch of human captives crashes onto the planet. One by one the humans are rounded up and rescued from their captors and claimed as mates by the dragon men, the Fae, the werewolves and the telepaths.
This Alien romance love story is for Commander Vorek and Alana. WOW I loved this danger filled aliane love story. Around every corner there is not a time were these two have to save each other. I loved this book and can not wait for the next one.

The second book in the Ice World Warriors series a well written short sci-fi story that kept me turning pages. Commander Vorek and Alana's story of suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, villains, and romance. I want to read more in this series.
