Probably the best Catholic Bible Study program I know of. As opposed to going about his series chronologically or with historicism Binz approaches concepts thematically through the Bible . This approach isn’t for everyone - it’s more a breadth than depth approach, but I think it’s useful, especially for those with limited Biblical background.
My experience is that this book takes a little work and thought to get much out of it. It doesn't spoon-feed me, like I thought it would. But if I get myself in the right frame of mind and sort of meditate on the Scripture passages provided for the lesson, and then really think about the explanation portion of the lesson, and then think even harder on the questions at the end of the lesson, then WOW, I get it! Usually, lol. Sometimes I have to backtrack a lesson or two and take it in all together.
This was a little difficult for our group. We found some of the questions repetitive and not any more enlightening the second time around. One good thing that evolved from this was a better awareness of the Holy Spirit moving through our lives.
