4.5 taboo and delicious stars
After the cliffy from book 1, I couldn’t wait to dive into this one, and I wasn’t disappointed. Plus, this one has some delicious taboo/almost caught scenes 😈 my faaaaavorite kind in taboo romances.
Brandon (27) finds out Mia (17) has a boyfriend. So he does what any man would do in this situation: he forced-proximities himself ANNNND threatens the OM 💅. Yeah. He gives no fs 💁🏻♀️. He wants Mia and no one else is gonna have her 🤷🏻♀️. The problem? Ummm… well, her family 😬 specifically, her older brother who happens to be one of Brandon’s closest friends ANNNND business partner 😅. Whoops 🫠.
Brandon wants her and he’s willing to break rules to be with her. I love me good bulldozer 😉.
What I loved: (possible spoilers)
—ummm… the 🔥. Jeeeezus Christ. They’re 🥵. Brandon gets duuuuurty. Good LAWD. This man’s insatiable, just the way I like ‘em 😉. From the pantry to the car to the bedroom with people on the other side, he’s gonna have her whenever and wherever… whether she’s ready for him or not 💦

—his favorite anything is her 💁🏻♀️. Sigh. I love me a man that is OTT obsessed over his woman 🥹
—the taboo factor. Sigh. If I’m gonna read about a taboo romance, give me the taboo aspect please. The “shhhh be quiet” scenes, the sneaking around scenes 🥵💦👀 all of the Yesssses please. And we get them 😉
—his manipulation 😈. I mean. He buys a complicated coffee machine so that he’s the only one that knows how to use it so that Mia’s forced to ask for his help 🤣. He slowly moves her in as well 👀 bahahaha. I can’t help but love him, and then
—OMD- sigh. I luuuurve this 😅
—the blackmail scene 😈. It was 🔥 but also very very smart 😉 this man knows what he’s doing 💁🏻♀️

Discord is the second and The conclusion of Mia & Brandon’s journey. I would recommend reading the quarantine series first, as some parts of this series run concurrently with the quarantine series for a better reading experience.
I was never a fan of Mia and loved Brandon. After reading book one, Brandon was on shakey ground with me, and I had a newfound love for Mia. Needless to say, I am again in love with Brandon and his morally grey self. Mia actually shocked me with how far she has come. It was a great pleasure to read about her character growth.
What I like about these two are their love and special bond. Brandon sees her for who she is, Not what her crazy family sees and tries to control. You have to be a strong and unique individual to deal with the Sinclairs’. Especially Milo.
There were times I wanted to smack them both. As brilliant as they are, they both could be completely oblivious.
Overall, Discord is a fantastic read filled with chaos, emotions, and steam. I loved it! For some, it may push your boundaries. Read your trigger warning. For me, it was just right. I always love a ton of grey.
As much as I was invested in this book, I was on edge for the last thirty-five percent. The ending was perfect, and I wasn't crying with joy. Not me. I thought it was you.

YESSS!!! oh my!!! What a great book! I love that the hero is soooo over the top possessive protective millionaire alpha male😍😍😍 Another great author who writes OTT POSSESSIVE HERO YAY😍😍 I immediately read this after i read and liked a review about this book! (Thanks sonia)☺️ Damn it was the best decision ever cause this book made my night so much fun🥺😍 Like I can’t stop saying “aww” 🥺🥺🥺 I said it many times when i was reading this book🤩🤩

The mystery, the plot twist and the whole romance from the couple is so freakin romantic! A fun one to read! I was so curious and keep on going!
Especially the book (first book) starts with the hero getting all jealous because he saw some guy flirting with the heroine🤣 Damn when I read that, i just keep on going 😍 cause i love when the book starts like that, that it shows the hero is already jealous and turns out he is that over the top possessive 😝

BOOK ONE IS HOW THEY MEET AND BOOK TWO IS HOW THEY CONTINUE THEIR RELATIONSHIP FURTHER…

The story starts with the hero is at a business trip in french. He was sitting at the hotel bar alone and before he notices the heroine, two girls was flirting with him but he ignores them and tell them to go away. And suddenly he see the heroine walking into the hotel bar and he sets his eyes for her… He said he was drawn to her… And then when the heroine sits, some random guy just come up and say hi to her and offer her a drink. The heroine politely say no but the guy insists to buy her a drink. When the heroine said she was waiting on someone, the hero comes up and say to the guy that he was that someone she was waiting on… The guy say okay and go away. And that’s when they meet and starts this lovely crazy hot journey together 🥺❤️❤️❤️

When he have the time, after the heroine shower he cleaned her hair and blow dry her hair. The hero likes to cook for the heroine and make sure to get her favorite food and even drink. The hero even buy a big coffee machine and told the heroine not to study about the machine but just let him to make the coffee for her🥺🥺 When the hero invites and drives the heroine to his apartment for the first time, she was sleeping in the seat so the hero carry her to his apartment parking spot to the lobby and lets her go when they arrived inside his apartment 🥺 OMG. When the hero drive the heroine to her house, he make sure the heroine is on her room with her turning the lights on and then he goes… When the heroine was away for college and they have to do a long distance relationship, the hero make sure he visit her on the weekends. Like every single freakin weekend! Never missed a weekend…

The mystery, the plot twist and the whole romance from the couple is so freakin romantic! A fun one to read! I was so curious and keep on going!
Especially the book (first book) starts with the hero getting all jealous because he saw some guy flirting with the heroine🤣 Damn when I read that, i just keep on going 😍 cause i love when the book starts like that, that it shows the hero is already jealous and turns out he is that over the top possessive 😝

BOOK ONE IS HOW THEY MEET AND BOOK TWO IS HOW THEY CONTINUE THEIR RELATIONSHIP FURTHER…

The story starts with the hero is at a business trip in french. He was sitting at the hotel bar alone and before he notices the heroine, two girls was flirting with him but he ignores them and tell them to go away. And suddenly he see the heroine walking into the hotel bar and he sets his eyes for her… He said he was drawn to her… And then when the heroine sits, some random guy just come up and say hi to her and offer her a drink. The heroine politely say no but the guy insists to buy her a drink. When the heroine said she was waiting on someone, the hero comes up and say to the guy that he was that someone she was waiting on… The guy say okay and go away. And that’s when they meet and starts this lovely crazy hot journey together 🥺❤️❤️❤️

The hero even buy a big coffee machine and told the heroine not to study about the machine but just let him to make the coffee for her🥺🥺 When the hero invites and drives the heroine to his apartment for the first time, she was sleeping in the seat so the hero carry her to his apartment parking spot to the lobby and lets her go when they arrived inside his apartment 🥺 OMG. Drethi is my new favorite author and I wish she had more stuff I could binge. All in good time 🥰.
Ok so I’m glad I read The Quarantine Series first 💗Milo💗 cause not only did I absolutely LOVE that series so much but I also liked having the inside track to what was happening in the background. BUT You definitely DO NOT need to read it first to enjoy this.
⭐️This starts out with Branden meeting a woman at a bar and having a spark with her that he’s never had before and making him brake his rules. This leads to a long weekend together where he falls in love with her. And then she disappears.
⭐️Fast forward 6 months of endless searching and he finally finds her but discovers her true identity which is a HUGE problem for many reasons.
⭐️I don’t want to spoil the twists and turns that happen but Brandon is not happy with this turn of events.
⭐️Mia is smart and loves her family more than anything even though they are complicated…….💕Milo💕.
⭐️Brandon is a complex man and has lots of issues that would keep Him from Mia. But he just can’t help himself. Brandon is explosive❤️🔥, sometimes conflicted in his feelings, faithful, loyal and NEVER giving Mia up❤️ He will do ANYTHING and go to the ends of the earth to have and keep Mia. And this is exactly why I love this Author.
😍She writes complicated men that are so obsessed with their woman they will do what it takes to have them.

This duet was TESTING my morals
But thankfully, that ship sailed a long time ago.
It was interesting to see how the heroine's family dynamic plays a huge part in their relationship.
Especially since Brandon's possessiveness has no bounds.
Man literally wanted Mia to cut her family bonds and choose him
Though I am sure I would have faltered at the first sign of his baby blues, I am glad Mia was able to stand on her ground with him.
The author was amazing at the jealousy scenes, I was soaking every bit of it😩
I liked how Milo found out and reacted about their relationship , he literally tried all resources to get Brandon on COURT.
It was believable, given Milo's personality
But the best was the ✨TENSION✨ he hated how much he wanted her but his need for her overpowered any moral compass that he had left.
Their back and forth was almost comical and I even snorted a few times.
For a man as smart and business-minded Brandon was, he could be just as childish and possessive when faced with the woman he loved.I think that was what made him endearing and gave the characters a sense of realism to it.

I enjoyed reading this story. It kept my interest. I was never bored. I read it in one sitting.
Jealous, possessive, and protective heroes are my kryptonite and I love that Brendon is still very much that way in this book as he was in the first one, Organized Chaos. It led to yummy scenes where Brandon felt the need to continue to claim Maya, to let her know that in no uncertain terms that she was his. Talking about which, this book contains plenty of hot sexy times, which I always want included in the romance books that I read. I am just not a clean romance gal.
I liked that there were no long separations. I have no tolerance for them and that was not a problem in this book. I am glad that Brandon didn’t give into Maya’s proposal of being apart for a couple of years. I would have been extremely disappointed if Brandon agreed to that. Thankfully Brandon is too jealous and possessive to let her go, even if it was only supposed to be temporary.
I love that Brandon is not, nor every has been, a manhoe. He is faithful to Maya and visa versa. Until this book that was only thing that I disliked about Milo from the Quarantine series, was that he was a manhoe before becoming intimate with Raven. After all, how could I not love a hero who was crazy jealous, possessive and obsessed with a heroine like Milo was about Raven? However Milo disappointed me in this book. You’re such a hypocrite Milo. He applied one standard to him and Raven and a different one for Brandon and Maya. I didn’t like how he responded to hearing about them being together, not at all.
I like how this book, like the first one, is told from a dual point of view, which is always my preference. It helps me get to know the heroes and the heroines better if I know what the both of them are thinking and feeling.
Like Organized Chaos, this book is not a PC story. The heroine, while legal, is still in high school when she hooks up with Brandon in the first book as well as this one. Brandon is about 10 years older than her. I know that some readers will find that objectionable, and so be aware that element is included in this book like the first one.
Initially I was turn off by Maya stalker behavior that was referenced in the first book as well as this one. I am a hypocrite because I only want the heroes to be the stalkers. However it turned out that it was a good thing in this book, which completely surprised me.
I would be happy to read another book in this world as long as it is not about Reid. I just don’t think that I could ever see him as hero material – not even a little. I got too turned off by his behavior in the Quarantine series.

Just when I thought Brandon had already reached the heights of his deliciously manipulative behavior, he goes and takes it to the next level in Discord 😍🥵.
Oh did this man have me swooning over his singular öbsession with clāiming Mia once and for all. He's tired of fïghtïng it and will do whatever it takes to have Mia by his side. If that means he has to bläckmail, schēme and mänipulate those around him, so be it. Brandon is a man who knows how to fight dirty in more ways than one 😈 and dämn did I love every minute of it (especially his methods of reminding Mia she's his). Definitely left me fanning myself more than once 🥵🔥.
Mia may have loved Brandon since she was a child, but dreams are always different than reality. She doesn't want to want him anymore and knows her best best is to avoid temptation. Kinda hard to do when the man you are trying to avoid keeps railroading his way into your life 😍
I absolutely loved the conclusion to this duet! I loved watching Brandon brëak all his rules for Mia. Combine that with how jëalous, pøssessive and mänipulative he was, and I was in book heaven 😍. I also loved seeing Mia embrace her individuality and independence, and finally take control of her own future.

Oh did this man have me swooning over his singular öbsession with clāiming Mia once and for all. He's tired of fïghtïng it and will do whatever it takes to have Mia by his side. If that means he has to bläckmail, schēme and mänipulate those around him, so be it. Brandon is a man who knows how to fight dirty in more ways than one 😈 and dämn did I love every minute of it (especially his methods of reminding Mia she's his). Definitely left me fanning myself more than once 🥵🔥.
Mia may have loved Brandon since she was a child, but dreams are always different than reality. She doesn't want to want him anymore and knows her best best is to avoid temptation. Kinda hard to do when the man you are trying to avoid keeps railroading his way into your life 😍
I absolutely loved the conclusion to this duet! I loved watching Brandon brëak all his rules for Mia. Combine that with how jëalous, pøssessive and mänipulative he was, and I was in book heaven 😍. I also loved seeing Mia embrace her individuality and independence, and finally take control of her own future.

So this book was better than the first one, but it was still not without its issues. It's more accurately 3.75 stars, but because I devoured it in such a short time, 3 stars is just entirely too low, so I'll settle on 4. But not without fully explaining why I wasn't completely enthralled by all of it.
I think the main problems I had with this one is the fact that once our heroine started interacting with the hero again, she seemed like a completely different person. And maybe you could validate that by claiming she was previously playing a role, but if that's the case and that's who Brandon was initially attracted to, then one could argue that it was not so much Mia that he was into as it was Maya. And wouldn't the attraction just kind of fizzle out once she reverted to acting like a bratty child versus a quirky woman? With that said, I loved that Brandon's OTT jealous, possessive, and, oftentimes, unhinged qualities were maintained, but I'm not going to lie that Mia did get on my nerves quite a lot.
I also want to touch base on the book and Brandon's tattoo. When accusations were being thrown around that Brandon had groomed Mia, and they were arguing against it, supposedly it was the book that made both Milo and Raven understand how much he loved Mia. I did not get this. Not one bit. If anything, the way it was presented would have confirmed their suspicions as the book detailed a past memory shared between Mia and Brandon in which we learn that Brandon had told a TWELVE YEAR OLD Mia that she was really a stealthy leopard, but disguised as an adorable bunny. This inspired Brandon's tattoo that he has across his torso. So you're telling me that a grown ass man, getting a tattoo because of a memory he shared with a 12 year old little girl (long before the story started in France/Italy) would put them more at ease that he later fell in love and was sleeping with her??? Yeah, I'm not buying that.
Also, a lot of this story was just being told and very little of it was being felt/shown. So it was just hard to understand why they were so passionate about each other. There's also the issue of this being marketed as a dark romance, yet I didn't really find too much (if any) of this to be dark. That might just be me, though, being desensitized as a result of all the truly dark shit I read on a regular basis.
Lastly, the ending was a bit rushed. Almost as if you could tell that the author was just more than ready to wrap things up. I think she had a good concept, just didn't quite know how to deliver it, so once she saw any semblance of an out, she took it and ran with it.
Final Thoughts:
It's not like this duet isn't worth reading. It's entertaining for sure. It just lacked a certain kind of finesse some of the other books I've read that covered the same tropes possessed. I think if this author keeps at it and focuses on developing and perfecting their craft, they have the potential to produce some truly spectacular material. They're just not quite there yet. So don't expect a masterpiece between these pages, but it's certainly not a waste of your time.

This was much better than the first book. I loved how crazy, manipulative, and OTT Brandon was. I wish there was a better epilogue though. This duet just couldn't really compare to Milo and Ravens series.

I was absolutely entranced and mesmerized with Mia and Brandon’s story and could not stop reading their story until the end.
This couple has been through so much, Mia’s family being so controlling and manipulative and Brandon’s family being just as dysfunctional. I loved this back and forth and push and pull while these two struggled with their feelings and their concern of how their relationship will be perceived.
Discord was marvellously written, the characters created with depth and passion, and the plot flowed beautifully.
Marvellous story with breathtaking moments ❤️

I was enjoying this story but got the ick when there were some ableist comments, so knocked down the star rating a bit. I don’t think the author’s intentions were to be ableist. These two were a whirlwind of chaos and taboo desires and actions. Brandon went full on when he made up his mind, which I enjoyed.

loved this book, love the shit out of it. my eager self actually read this book first by accident and didn’t even realize it. i guess i sped through the beginning disclaimers about how this book was a duet and not a standalone. lmaooo i don’t know how i didn’t realize but i was halfway through this one and found out i skipped book 1 entirely then went back to read that.
i didn’t even think i would like this book very much but oh my it was insanely good. loved the spice. loveddddd the forbiddenness of the whole relationship and i loveddddd how Brandon was so in love/obsessed/infatuated/possessive with Mia that he could never stay away. i even loved his psycho side of being a manipulative bastard because he needed to solidify that Mia will be in his life forever no matter the consequences. that is what got me swooning and on the floor with my heart so full❤️🔥❤️🔥

OH MY GOD! Mia and Brandon both are crazy and unhinged. Brandon is definitely more though. Phenomenal! Just when I thought Brandon had already reached the heights of his deliciously manipulative & obsessed behavior, he goes and takes it to the next level in this book.

The chemistry and relationship between the two was off the charts. These two have a special bond. Their love can be seen by everyone. This book had emotions and drama.

an issue i had was that both Milo & Raven annoy the shit out of me and I was tired of reading about them with such a heavy presence in this book.

If you've read Organized Chaos (Book 1) then you already know the content of this book. If you haven't then you need to read it before this one. Again check those TW because some of this content will not be for everyone.
Picking up where Organized Chaos left off - boy did things get really interesting really fast! So many feelings about the situation Mia and Brandon now find themselves in. I completely understand his anger, his hurt, how he feels betrayed. But I can also see where Mia was coming from and how nothing she did was with malicious intent. It may not have been the best choice she could have made but she wanted something for herself. Something she had control over and no one else so when she saw that opportunity, and with the man she had secretly loved for years, she took it. The way Brandon becomes completely obsessed with her - yea I ate it up! Even though he knew the truth and hated himself at times for the feelings he had he couldn't make them go away. And even though it became so physical between them (and boy did the spice jump up a notch in this one!!) it started out about so much more than that. You could see that it was still about so much more than that any time he wasn't with her. She was the only person who made him not want to be alone, who made him want more from life.
For her he was the one person who listened to what she had to say. He wasn't embarrassed by her quirkiness or her social awkwardness, he adored it and was in awe of her intelligence. She was being smothered by her family and then there was Brandon trying to show her that she deserved to stand on her own, that her quirks didn't hold her back but made her stronger. Over the course of the part of this book I will be honest, Brandon was not getting the kindest words and thoughts from me. His obsession with Mia went from desirable to cringe as he made some awful choices when it came to her and their future. There was some manipulation there that I honestly wasn't sure I could get past even though it was done out of fear of losing her. But seeing him prove his love for her in ways I wasn't expecting made it possible for me to begin forgiving the temporary insanity he was clearly going through when he made those decisions.
While their relationship may have started under not so great circumstances and was seen as inappropriate by most people I truly feel like they were good for each other and had they not been in the situation they were in and their circumstances a tad not so forbidden, the scheming and manipulation would have potentially never happened. Love makes us all capable of doing some crazy things when it consumes every part of us. In the end things were made right as best as they could be and the epilogue was freaking awesome! I totally think Brandon was behind a certain mishap for Mia's benefit because he knows her as much as she knows herself. And her nephew.. that kid stole the show with one line lol! Wonderful ending to this duet!

When I first read Chaos I had a love/hate relationship with the story. I feared what would be happening between the two characters, and it really turned out pretty good.
I have an open mind and believe books are fantasy, creations of the mind. I will state that I don't condone these kind of things in real life, but for the sake of the story and the way this character pairing happened, I really enjoyed it.
Again, only go into this book if you have an open mind and are easy going.
I loved the story, its filled with angst, (don't even get me started the noises I was making...) and personally chapter 20 was my favourite of the entire series (and maybe the epilogue)
Overall, great book, great writing, LOVED it!

I, of course, still loved me some crazy obsessed brandon. Definitely a lot of triggers and unlikeable moments for all of characters so don’t go into this expecting everything to be all rainbows and butterflies.
Smut was on point and of course I loved Drethi’s writing. I guess i just felt like maybe something was missing? Maybe it was my dislike for some of the side characters at time. I thought Milo was a little bit ridiculous at time. Like this guy just plans his sisters entire life without her input at times and it just bothered me sooo much. I’m glad Mia’s character got to have a little room for growth and got her HEA.
Still, i recommended this duet and will pick up whatever Drethi puts out next.

This book was one of my top reads of the year!
Book one was absolutely amazing, but book 2 was the extra icing on the cake. Brandon and Mia were absolutely everything. His desire and his obsession to have Mia anyway and by any means was indescribable. This book showed how much they both grew up, and the growth of the relationship. I truly felt I was living in their heads and in the walls and I was living out every aspect of their relationship with them. Brandon and Mia were hot and spicy and you could literally feel the heat off the pages. There was jealousy, lust, obsession, desire, angst, and of course forbidden love. Drethi Anis never disappoints, and I promise this book is worth every word!

Even though I enjoyed this book an devoured this one and the previous one in one day, it wasn’t a complete five star read for me. I didn’t totally understand Brandon’s actions and sometimes it was hard to believe he was truly in love with Mia. He sometimes said really nasty things to her and seemed only interested in the physical part of the relationship. Only toward the end of the book did I get the feeling he was truly all in and in love with Mia. I just need my men to be more obsessed, sweet and caring next to their alpha nature. Brandon seemed too reluctant for too long. It was a compelling story that kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for the secrets and their consequences to come out. Four stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Brandon is jealous and possessive and I was really not a fan of him for half of this book. We know that he would do anything for Mia but he just acts like an a##hole. But the more I read the more I realized he has her best interests in mind.
Mia has wonderful character growth from book one. She seems more mature and more grounded.

I’m the beginning the goal might not have been to make me hate Brandon…but If it was, consider that a win. Normally I’m all for the brooding, tall, cocky/overly confident man. Brandon just hit that mark absolutely, but something about him in the beginning really rubbed me wrong. Mia slowly growing into herself is great to see, but I just want to see more of her standing up for herself faster. I’m happy for the progression of their relationship now, there were multiple times where I wanted to smack each of them for some of their actions and feelings…not a lot of duets make me that involved.

I was counting down the days for this book and I have to say it not only lived up to my expectations but exceeded them.
Brandon was such a manipulative a hole and I was HERE FOR IT!
He wasn’t afraid to play dirty to have Mia and keep her. My favorite part was how he slowly moved her in without actually asking her to move in.
And then when he made that book for her even tho it went against everything he was, he proved how he was all mush for Mia… omg I swooned.
