”How do I know if I’m in love?”
“You’ll feel like your world has been turned upside down and the only thing that makes sense is the person who occupies so much of your head and heart. When they are with you, everything seems perfect.”

this was a very sweet read. that’s about it though.

so i want to start by saying that i really like this author, i’ve been a fan ever since i read Temptation by her (her best book imo). i’ve spent time reading through a lot of her backlog since then, and i hate to say this was probably my least favorite. even though it was cute, i had a lot of problems that kept me from fully enjoying and engaging with it.

so let’s start with the characters. annie foster is the typical girl next door who is also an aspiring singer. she was a super fluffy, nice character that was a bit naive at times, but sort of endearing. unfortunately, i struggled to connect to her. we were given information about her that could’ve been played up more to give her character more depth but her backstory felt more like a throwaway. kind of a waste.

then there’s bristol baines, world famous pop singer extraordinaire. i liked her character a bit more, but i also felt like i never got enough of her to really, fully connect to her on a deep level. again, it just felt like an issue of throwing us pieces of information just to have them rather than actually utilize them to draw us into the character’s heart. i could understand her motivations, but sadly i just didn’t really care as much as i hoped.

the romance really fell flat for me. i didn’t ever feel their connection. it felt like we were constantly told they had this wiiiild connection, but we didn’t get to actually see it. the characters actually spent very little time interacting on page for a good chunk of the book and i felt pretty confused and disappointed by it. and then when they did start to have meaningful interactions? they were always interrupted. so tell me how i could ever feel they built any sort of lasting, memorable bond during these moments? it had to happen somewhat off page (i’d assume) or maybe it just didn’t work for me. i guess i wanted more.

lastly, the plot felt really slow, uninteresting and just didn’t captivate me. there were 2 small issues for the characters that were resolved so quickly and almost didn’t make sense or feel realistic to me. i know it’s a romance and they tend to be predictable but this one just felt too predictable.

overall, i think the story had a lot of potential that it just didn’t reach.

however, despite my issues, the book was really quick, light and easy to breeze through. if you like overly sweet romances with not a lot of angst, then you may enjoy this more than i did.

A celebrity romance as a celebrity romance should be, plenty of glitter and glamour, but also some of the downsides of the music industry combined with a sweet romance between a pop star Bristol and relatively unknown singer Annie. Those that follow my reviews will know that celebrity romances are not my favorites, but since this is written by Bryant I decided to go for it anyway and she did an excellent job making this a very enjoyable read.

Bristol and Annie have different ambitions for their musical career. Bristol once craved to be a famous pop star, but now she is one, she’s tired of the fame. Annie never had ambitions to become a pop star, she lives happily from her musical career as a jingle writer and a hostess of an open mic night and YouTube channel. When their paths cross they quickly become friends even though Bristol is guarded at first.

I like how the romance in this book slowly builds up, there is attraction but the romance is really coming from a friendship perspective and they both have their reasons not to go beyond that. They are at very different points in their life but at the same time they both face decisions that may change their lives forever, which brings some tension to the story and keeps things interesting. The characters are believable and likeable and I also liked the side characters. I found especially Lizzy, Bristol’s manager and friend, an interesting character. She doesn’t have a huge role and she’s flawed and therefore not always likeable, but in my opinion characters like that give a bit of extra flavor to a story. There is also a sort of villain in the story and I enjoyed that storyline as well. It’s important for the final decisions that the MCs have to make and, yes, I was happy about the choices they made in the end.

A sweet low angst romance that many will likely enjoy.

Kris Bryant gives her readers another deliciously delightful romance to devour. This slow burn love story revolves around the intersection of an ascending singer/songwriter and a jaded and weary mega star on the brink of walking away to live a quiet life.

The plot is framed into a number of months and although there is a lot of things happening the writing presents everything in an easy and consistent fashion. This just adds to the slow sexual buildup between the two main characters.

Bristol and Annie are both very likeable characters. I wondered how the plot could provide a happy ending and was very surprised and pleased at the result.

A singing career.

I love that I'm reading so many celebrity romances lately. It was a stressful period at work last week and I really needed good books with my favourite tropes to de-stress and this book was the right one. It's not too heavy or angsty but also not too fluffy.

The main characters are on the same career path but at different stages of their career, which is a concern for at least one of the characters when considering a relationship with each other. Annie is a jingle writer (I actually had to google that), the hostess of an open mic event and has a healthy online following whereas Bristol is a famous singer. Bristol is at the stage where she wants out and on the other hand, Annie is a rising star after she gets offered a chance to go on tour with Bristol.

I love that both characters are so likeable. Bristol is approachable, humble and down-to-earth and Annie is just the same. And when they are together, they have good chemistry so it was pretty enjoyable. My only complaint is that it's a slow burn when it didn't need to be.

This is a story about Bristol Baines, pop star extraordinaire. She’s at the top of the music world, tired of the concert stage and all the behind the scenes music industry people controlling her life. All she wants is a normal life. Annie Foster lives in Denver and works in a coffee shop and writes songs that she sings there a couple nights a week. She also has a young niece who, is going through a serious medical procedure in
the local hospital Annie is vey close to her sister Sarah who is the charge nurse at the hospital where her daughter is getting treatments. Annie sings weekly to the kids who are at the hospital to cheer them up from their illnesses. While singing there one day she meets Bristol’s manager Lizzy. Lizzy is wowed by Annie’s voice and asks her to be the new opening act for Bristol’s concert tour that is in its final weeks. Annie agrees to do it for the remaining six weeks.

I had reservations about reading this book because I’m not a fan of celebrity romances. But I was pleasantly surprised at the way this book unfolds and the great writing that Bryant displays here with it. The book is told with alternating points of view from both Bristol and Annie..
We get to know their fears and joys and share these deep emotions. The core of this book comes in the last 20% where their feelings and hopes and dreams are brought out in the open and shared with each other.

If you enjoy the feels and angst of a good romance, this book is well done and a very enjoyable read.

A sweet, low-angst romance in the music Universum. Wonderful characters who love to make music, but are in very different places in their life, and how they navigate their lives and careers to find a way to be together.

Two musicians of similar ages but at different stages of their careers have their paths crossed by serendipity. Annie Foster is a jingle writer by day, a budding musician at night. Bristol Baines is at the top of the pop charts, super famous but tired of the demands of nonstop touring and recording. When both women meet, they feel an attraction but what happens when their paths drive them apart?

This is a celebrity romance with a focus on the music industry. By coincidence, among the Summer releases, there were a couple of romances with musicians leads who happen to share the stage: The Duet by Harper Bliss and Another Stupid Love Song by Em Stevens and Miranda MacLeod. Each story is different and Serendipity focuses on something that happens often: two people who find a connection but are at different places in life. For this reason, this is a very slow-burn romance which isn’t usual for this author but, eventually, the pent-up tension that Ms. Bryant builds so well pays off.

If you are looking for a low-angst celebrity romance, this one is a good choice. 4 stars.

You can rely on Kris Bryant to write you a nice story.

In this book we meet Annie and Bristol. Bristol is a superstar and Annie is an up and coming artist. They strive for the same career but are definitely at different points of that journey.
With any celebrity romance you might expect some issues with the fame, being closeted, iciness. I am happy to report that’s not the case, ok maybe the first one. Bristol is done with all of it and wants out, it’s the downside of the very successful career she’s had.

Bryant managed to write a fun and heartfelt story with two very likeable characters. Both Annie and Bristol are likeable, approachable characters and you can’t help but rooting for them.
This is a super fun story and I really enjoyed myself.

Annie Foster is a jingle writer by day who loves to write music and sing at open mic nights and for kids at the hospital. Bristol Baines is a world renowned singer wrapping up a grueling world tour and had just lost her opening act. Fate intervenes and Annie ends up filling in for Bristol's tour in Denver. One night turns into six weeks of crazy tour life and Annie and Bristol finding a new friendship where they didn't expect it.
I have always enjoyed reading books by Kris Bryant but I think this one is my favorite. Celebrity tropes tend to draw me in and this one was great. Bristol and Annie really clicked and I loved their progression from friends to more with the backdrop of a world tour. There was plenty of interesting side characters ranging from the lovable best friend, to endearingly annoying family to an easy to hate villain. I already want to read it again and I stayed up way too late last night completely engrossed in this story. This is definitely a new addition to my favorites.

Serendipity is one of those books that makes you feel good after reading it. Kris Bryant brings a different perspective on celebrity romances, and reading her two latest books has been an absolute pleasure.

Bristol Baines is a famous pop star, while Annie Foster is more of a music influencer to me...? I love the story setting and how Kris unfolds it. Their chemistry is great, and they are both lovable characters. There's also a glimpse of the industry's dark side(just a tiny little one.) Overall, it's a delight and heartwarming read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The manager of Bristol, Lizzy, is also my favorite. I wish there was more about her, and I really hope she has her own book. She has so much potential!

Kris Bryant is always a must read. In Serendipity she writes about Bristol Baines, a famous musical star, who is at the tail end of a long musical tour. In Denver her manager discovers Annie Foster, who sings, hosts a weekly youtube open mike night and who has a strong social media following. She becomes a replacement opening act for the last six weeks of the tour. As they entertain in different cities they get to know each others better. Their talents blend harmoniously but Annie is at the start of potentially something big while Bristol is ready to step back for awhile. This is a well written, slow burn romance with two likable characters. I wish there would have been a little more personal one on one time building the will they or wont they. But there was more focus on who Annie will sign with and glimpses of the harsher business side of fame. A solid read and romance. Annie Foster is perfectly content writing jingles and hosting an open mic night at her local coffee shop, but fate has different plans for her and before she knows it she is touring with superstar Bristol Baines. It's everything Annie always wanted but didn't dare to dream about. Bristol has been famous for years and she is over it. She wants to be able to go to the grocery store without security, she wants to have a life beyond performing. As the tour carries on, the two women develop a friendship that evolves into deeper feelings.
I love celebrity romances and this one is top notch. Annie and Bristol are wonderful characters, and I was instantly invested in their story. Bristol has been famous for so long and she loves performing but after so long in the spotlight she is burnt out and ready to start living her life for herself. Annie is ready for her moment in the spotlight. Kris Bryant has weaved a slow burn that really works. She allows the two women to get to know each other and let the feelings develop organically.
Annie and Bristol are so incredibly likeable. This book made me smile. It's a low angst delight that is the perfect read for a warm summer's day. I know I will be revisiting these characters sooner rather than later.

Serendipity is such an enchanting tale. I just fell in love with the characters, the story, and the romance between Annie Foster and Bristol Baines. Of course, I should’ve expected this since Kris Bryant is one of my favorite romance authors.
Annie Foster is very happy creating musical jingles during the day. She is also the hostess for Coffee and Chords, an open mic night at her best friend’s coffee shop, which is also broadcast on her popular You Tube channel in the evenings. She loves her music, her online fans, her friends and family, but sometimes she feels like there is something missing. Bristol Baines is at the pinnacle of her career. She has been in the music business since she was fourteen and is now at the top of the pop charts. She is so famous she can’t even walk down the street without security. Life should be perfect, but Bristol is not really happy. She is lonely, and she wants a fresh start. The two meet when Annie is asked to substitute for an opening act in Bristol’s musical tour. The attraction is immediate on both sides. Chemistry may not be enough, however, since the two seem to be in different places in their lives and careers.

This is a delightful character-driven, slow-burn romance written by an expert in the genre. The settings are well described, especially the part of the story set on the actual tour. The characters are realistic and easy to connect with. The love story between Annie and Bristol is both charming and steamy, with just enough angst to keep you reading and guessing. The fact that the book is based around music just adds to the amazing atmosphere.

I thoroughly loved reading this novel. I recommend it to all romance lovers.

The meeting of musical minds
Kris Bryant gives us a very well written romance where a fresh, rising star and a successfull though jaded, disillusioned star meet by chance. A very sexy f/f romance unfolds. I esp. loved the music which was very well written as was the secondary cast which was just lovely: the very young Peyton battling cancer rocks her scenes.
Alas, I was a bit irritated about the chance meeting at an unlikely location and IMO it took too much time to clear up how it came about. This is a very, very slow burn romance and at some point it bordered on annoying, but the finale is grand and very satisfying.
As always Bryants writing is great: the story and the dialogues flowed really well. A little less repetition of on similar on-stage scenes could have enhanced the story even more.

Thanks for the ARC via netgalley and Bold Strokes Books. The review is left voluntarily.

Bristol Baines has it all – fortune and fame – but she’s sick of being a virtual prisoner to her fame. She wants to be able to walk down a street with the love of her life without being mobbed by crazed fans. She hadn’t met the love of her life until she met Annie Foster, a talented musical artist, whose simple life of doing what she most loves – playing music – explodes after she meets Bristol who asks her to open for her on the last few stops on her world tour.

Bryant doesn’t disappoint readers who love her books. She has two strong characters in Annie and Bristol. The book has conflict, angst – lots of angst – and the struggle to accept each other as they are not who they seem to be. While some readers may prefer less angst, especially the kind of angst that can be dealt with by asking a simple question, most readers will speed right through the angsty parts of the book and on to the expected and well done HEA ending.

Fans and newbies alike will love this book despite all the angst. Bryant has given readers a well-written, well-plotted book with characters who are well-drawn and likable especially Annie Foster.

My thanks to Bold Strokes Books for an eARC.

What a delightful change of pace from Kris Bryant. We aren't accustomed to the suuuuuper ssssloooowburn in her books, but it really works here. To me this is not only a celebrity romance, but a "A Star is Born" sub-trope. Bristol and Annie are basically the same age (unlike Kris Kristofferson and Barbra Streisand), but because they're at completely different stages of their careers it feels like Bristol is a major contributor to Annie's stardom.

What I appreciate about Kris Bryant's writing style is that it is so readable. Her sentences flow along as if she is telling you a story in your living room. Not oversimplified in any way, but rather just the perfect word choices and sentence structure.

2022 has indeed been a stellar year for Kris Bryant, with Always, Forever, and now Serendipity covering all the feels that her fans have come to expect and look forward to.

Annie is jingle writer by day but does open mic and live on her YouTube channel at her best friend Charley cafe The Night Owl. When a chance encounter get her recognition she gets a chance to open for one of the bigger singers in the world Bristol. Bristol achieved her dreams but she at the point where she just want to live a normal life. Annie and Bristol sing well together and decides to duet which each of their songs and become a hit. They both grow closer but will they be able to have a relationship when one is just starting and the other wants to leave fame behind. I enjoy this read it’s was fluffy not a lot of angst which was refreshing because I really thought we were going to get backstabbing and jealousy especially with Bristol friend and manger Lizzy who was cold at one point but that wasn’t the case. I like both MCs and I love that they both had supporting families.

Who can resist a woman on stage with a guitar? Not me, that’s for sure. Kris Bryant’s newest release, Serendipity brings a pop star and an up-and-coming musician together to create a sweet, low-angst romance.

Annie is a musician who is completely satisfied with her low-key life. She has a great support network and a small but loyal fan base. When a chance meeting lands her as a support act on the final tour of one of the world’s most recognisably famous singer, Bristol Baines, Annie is thrust into a world she had only ever dreamed about. From the moment they meet, Bristol and Annie hit it off, finding themselves drawn to the other but doubtful of any future together. Both women must decide what is most important to them, and whether their views can align to bring happiness to their lives.

The book is told well, and the characters, including the secondary ones, are authentic and likable. Each one adds to the depth and authenticity of the story. Serendipity delivers a smorgasbord of emotions. There is a mix of sweetness, and frustrations born from miscommunication. There is a little bit of angst, and some hot love scenes.

Serendipity is a glimpse into the world of fame and fortune focusing on the music industry and how it can build people up before slowly breaking them down. Kris Bryant has written a story which feels real and relevant, and it is easy to imagine that this is the way a big percent of ridiculously famous people live today.

I went into Serendipity a bit cautiously. I was fairly disappointed with the last Bryant book I read, Home, and didn't want to set myself up by having high expectations this time around. I actually debated whether to read this ARC but I'm glad that I bit the bullet and clicked that button on NetGalley.

Bristol and Annie were a pleasure to spend time with. They had great chemistry and the story was interesting and felt believable. There wasn't a lot of miscommunication or extremely over the top bad guys so that's a big bonus for me. The loads of hot sex was a bonus too. :-)

So I'm back on the Kris Bryant bandwagon for sure and eagerly awaiting her next book.

Thanks to Kris Bryant, Bold Strokes Books, and NetGalley for making me happy for a few hours.

If you’re looking for sex, drugs, and rock’n roll you won’t find a single cliché in Serendipity. This story took a direction I least expected, and it turned out magnificent in all the right ways. Annie is on her way up while Bristol only wants out. How the two make their together work despite obligations, expectations, and the lure of fame, recognition, and wealth is a story that’s light and fluffy yet deep and meaningful where it counts. Both women grow together in their shared experiences through communication in music as well as words. I just adored this feel good story, and I think you will too. Bristol Baines, the hottest singer of her generation and wants out of the spotlight. Annie Foster, a jingle writing musician wants her big break. When Annie is asked to open for Bristol for the last six weeks of her world tour, the two become closer. But can two women at totally different points in their careers really make it work?

I’m a sucker for a celebrity romance and this one by Kris Bryant didn’t disappoint. There was a nice slow burn with a touch of angst. The added bits of drama with Lizzy and Sterling created a bit of tension for our mains. Annie and Bristol were well fleshed out characters with real feelings and emotions. Their chemistry was off the charts from the first moment they met.

I do wish that we were able to spend a bit more time with Annie’s sister and niece as well as Bristol’s mom and brother.

Overall this is a great celebrity romance that won’t be easy to put down!!

Loved this book. Bristol and Annie were such a cute pairing. I liked that this was a slow burn romance and that the two main characters got to really know each other before anything romantic developed between them. Annie you could tell was just starting out in the music business and her star was rising, were as Bristol was a superstar who's burnt out on the touring and never getting to see her family as much as she would like deciding to step away from it all and take a break. This was really informative on what happens when musicians are just starting out and how treacherous it can be when you sign with the wrong people or company they can take you for quite a bit before you even see any monetary gains come your way. This is why it's best to have a really good lawyer on retainer and a manager to look out for your interests. I felt that Annie was very smart in this and took her time to get the right people for her career. Bristol was younger and got taken advantage of and I can see why she wanted out. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends and family and I look forward to what's coming next from this author.

𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘:
I love celebrity romance books but I prefer actresses to singers. I love how the romance was slowly built in this book. The way it is like a mirror but also opposite, when I read the synopsis, I lie you not, I didn't see how a conflict would be built from something so small like that. But in those moments when Bristol opened up to Annie, I could see that she was really struggling. It was a solid and beautiful love story.

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒:
I love the character setting. Vanessa, I will marry you because you are awesome 😏🤤 and I would love see Bristol blush furiously.😈😈 Shy baby. 🤣🤣.

I love the main characters. I think I love them equally. And Charly, Sarah, Peyton, even Lizzy. I just love how Bristol loved Annie and Annie her. The way Annie loved her sister and niece. And Raven, whom I thought was a bird by the way, until I read a meow.

This entertaining read provides a behind the scenes look at a successful pop star Bristol Baines and a potential up and coming, internet famous talent, Annie Foster. This cute romance presented two likable characters who wanted different things in life. Annie wanted in and Bristol wanted out. I really appreciated the supportive family and friends. I had a like dislike for Bristol's manager, Lizzy. The slow build romance was nice and fit well with Annie and Bristol. I also liked the low angst.

This is a story that deals with the relationship between a well-known song star and an emerging singer, which has its bit of drama but without excess and also does not have situations of abuse of substances or alcohol, as these environments generally favor. So it's a soft story, perhaps excessively so.

Bristol is a pop superstar, touring for 18 months straight, racking up hit after hit with every performance. Annie is a singer-songwriter who makes commercial jingles for a living, performs at her friend Charley's place, and promotes new artists as well as herself on her YouTube channel.

By a fortuitous coincidence, serendipity, right? while Annie sings for the children in the hospital where her niece is in, Bristol’s manager hears her sing and proposes that Annie open for some of the remaining performances on Bristol’s tour. That will give her the opportunity to see the world of music at the highest level from within, with its ups and downs and with the miseries and greatness that fame brings with it. Since Bristol doesn't have as idyllic an existence as one might expect, and if Annie wants to get close to her level, she'll have to give up a few things. But Bristol and Annie have chemistry together, when they sing and offstage, so if they're going to dare to pursue that attraction, it's going to have to change their lives a lot, both of them.

The story has its ups and downs, its bumps in the road, its frustrating moments, its infuriating supporting characters. But overall it has been an interesting story, not very original, but that meets what would be expected in this kind of storyline.
