A Third Moment in Time is a collection of stories by Susan Stoker, including 3 short stories that have been published previously in recent anthologies, a story written specifically for social media, and a brand new, never been published novella featuring a beloved character from the Silverstone series.
The Bully: When a bully at school targets the seventh-grader, Annie Fletcher is on her own. But after getting some advice from Truck…it’s game on.
Tex Meets Akilah: How Tex and Akilah met and how she captured the Veteran SEAL’s heart without even trying.
SEALing his Future: Two of the most popular of Susan Stoker’s characters (Tex and Baker!) meet on a Navy SEAL mission…and one finds out the truth about the woman he thought loved him and was waiting for him to return home safe and sound.
Finding Peyton: When Peyton realizes she’s purposely been left in the middle of the ocean to die, she almost panics…until she realizes that the handsome Navy SEAL she’d been ogling earlier on the boat that had ditched them, had been left behind as well.
Trusting Willis: Gregory Willis spends his vacation getting to know his neighbor, Maylah, as well as tracking down the carjacker who put her in the hospital in the first place. He’s lost one woman he loves, he won’t lose another.
New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author, Susan Stoker has a heart as big as the state of Tennessee where she lives, but this all American girl has also spent the last fourteen years living in Missouri, California, Colorado, Indiana, and Tennessee. She's married to a retired Army man who now gets to follow her around the country.
I really liked this one, thought it had a good mix of stories we had read before and new ones. I don't remember reading the last 2, thought the left at sea one was crazy! Not sure that I would have been able to remain that calm, even knowing Tex was looking out for me and would save me.
I really loved the last one. Greg and Maylah were very cute. I liked that they had a shared experience with their spouses being gone and how neither of them shied away from talking about them. I also loved that both went with the attraction and saw how good it was for them both.
The ending was perfect, loved how happy they were.
Susan outdid her self here, but she always does. Loved the Bully, heck any story with Annie and I am hooked, and this one was the best I read, and the advise she got from Truck and her Dad was the best, and how it happened was even better.
Baker was awesome even if I already read it.
Tex and how he met his daughter, again a wonderful and warm story
Heck they all were great, but Annie and Baker were the best
This is a collection of 5 short stories/novellas. Four previously published elsewhere and the last written specifically for this collection. I loved having them all in one place! And the new story (starring Willis from the Silverstone series), was terrific.
I had read most of these stories in the various anthologies they debuted in. So worth the re-read! Willis and Maylah's story was amazing! Willis is so intense and sexy. Love, love, love!
SS doesn’t have characters that I don’t like except for the villains😜) but there are some that are just a bit more special. This collection of novellas focuses on some of the great series and amazing characters such as Annie, Baker, and Tex!!
A moment in time
The Bully Annie…if you know her, you love her! Add in Truck and their heart to heart, this story is sweet and embodies them and the other family members perfectly.
Tex meets Akilah I cried the whole story, which might be a record for me. Tex is truly the best character and person in this series and heck I think probably any series. The connection and beginning of how they became a family and the immersion of different cultures as beautifully told. I love seeing Tex and can always hope and enjoy more side stories!
SEALing his future Tex and Baker!!! So much goodness and I loved it. Now with that being said, this little snippet is heartbreaking, but also so enlightening for the Baker we met in the Hawaii series. It also makes me love Tex even more and I am pumped to finally get Bakers story!! Those are two amazing characters and I enjoyed seeing them on a mission together talking about the future and seeing how they both did go on to help others with computers and other means!
Finding Peyton Great story, but I want more!! Who was the bad person? How did the new character show up in the cartoon or at least what was the name! Loved the dynamic and how quickly the story moved. Seeing Baker always brings a smile and of course Tex was instrumental in finding them!
Trusting Willis Now that is an HEA that I was rooting for! Willis did not have much page time in the silver stone series but his role and background were memorable. Now he has his own story with his own second chance of love and she comes with her own loss and current problems. The blend of action and romance is great and the call on his love of justice, righting wrong and government led to a fascinating story. Tex and Baker don’t show up, but the story still brought in some other characters from the garage and previous stories!
I don’t know why I put off reading this installment of a Moment in Time for so long. But I’m glad I finally got through it. This collection of 5 stories will keep you turning the pages.
The Bully Here, we get to see Annie again. It’s always nice to bounce back and see her at different stages in her life. In this story, she’s 12 and tired of dealing with a bullying girl at school. But it isn’t because she’s the one being bullied. Oh no, she has no issues ignoring a bully picking on her But when the bully turns on the new kid in school, one that has a handicap, she has a desperate need to defend him. With the advice from Truck and the support of Fletch, she does what needs to be done.
Tex Meets Akilah WOW! There’s not much more to say than that. We already know who Akilah is. But getting the full story of how she came to be in Tex and Melody’s life was pretty amazing.
SEALing his Future Did you know that Baker and Tex met while on a mission? The mission that changed Tex’s life forever! Not only that, but Tex is the one that gave Baker the idea of what to do when he retired from the SEALs. I had no idea. But then for Baker to return home and find out the truth about Tabitha, the woman he was ready to call it quits with anyway? Boy did he dodge a bullet there.
Finding Peyton This was absolutely adorable. I know it was written as a short story for a FB Group and LOVED how it tied so much to that group with the tacos and everything. But did you know it was turned into a full length novel? I can’t wait to get my hands on Protecting Remi and get the full story of what all happened here.
Trusting Willis I can’t express to you how happy I am to see Willis get his HEA. After everything he went through after his wife and daughter were kidnapped and tortured before being unalived… then putting together Silverstone and how ever many other groups he works with…. He needed to get some peace and love in his life. And Maylah is the perfect woman for him. Absolutely amazing story.
If you’ve read the first one…well IYKYK! And there is none of that here
A super collection of lovely little stories. Stand-alone little breakouts and introductions to new characters, this book has it all.
More Annie ( be prepared to fall in love of you haven’t already met her!!) and her family (*sigh* *swoon* Fletch!) and take note of the someone who will become a lot more to her.
Willis is a lovely story and I enjoyed how it fleshed out an under developed character from a great series. Sweet to the core with a little sadness but mainly love.
Baker - the character most Stoker readers want to meet and are having conniptions over waiting for. Doesn’t help when she drops spoilers like candy all over the place!!!!
Tex and Akilah - a story people begged for because the character most featured in any interlinked series of books just demands more words!! Also because so much interesting stuff happened behind the scenes and it needed more detail!! Well here it is.
Peyton - a fun story but reminiscent of Elodie for me. A little too similar but written under the circumstance outlined, Bravo!!
Enjoyable and a nice filler whilst I (not so) patiently await the next Stoker book to drop
This is a great collection of previously published short stories, along with a brand new one featuring a character we grew to know in the author's Silverstone series. I highly enjoyed each of them!
I loved the short featuring Peyton & Rob! It was quick & super fun & involved a Baker sighting, and a little Tex magic. 😉 I really wish Peyton's comic strip really existed, too.
😍😍😍
Greg & Maylah are the couple in the last story, and it was full of Susan Stoker's signature suspense, humor, 🔥, and love. Excellent novella & I love these characters! Their back stories are exactly what made them perfect for each other. And there may also be a Princess to join their family... 😁 So cute!!
It occurred to me that if you're not familiar with Susan Stoker's work that reading A Third Moment in Tima as well as A Moment in Time and Another Moment in Time would give you some great glimpses into her charcters, their romances and the action/suspense/drama that she so skillfully incorporates into her books. These short stories featured some of my favorite characters. The novella Trusting Willis was a great eaxmple of what you'llfind in in Ms. Stoker's book. I loved that two people who'd suffered similar loss were brought together by happenstance and given a second chance for happiness.
Of this short stories collection, Trusting Willis was absolutely the best part. I wish that got a full book instead of a short read. Greg and Maylah, two broken people, who found each other despite their grief. Maylah, a lonely widow, and Greg, the workaholic widower, manage to take on the threat against her while learning to love again.
The rest of the stories were fine, and I love that Trusting Peyton evolved into a full series, but Trusting Willis was the gem in this collection.
Willis is good but not my favorite, not that I want to take anything away from him. My absolute favorite is Annie and Truck! Annie is such my kinda girl. Dirt never hurt anyone. It washes off. But Truck, the gentle giant, would do everything in his power to help and protect Annie. Annie wants to be Special Forces, her father and "Uncles" know how hard that is going to be for her. I've read Annie's story, I know. God bless all the protectors out there.
It's not often that I become so entangled with characters in a book, but I do have a very small group of Authors who inspire emotions and can as easily break my heart as well as have me cheering with joy. Susan Stoker does that for me. Her books are always fun to read. I look forward to her new releases and this one is great. Anxiously waiting for the next chapter, Susan.
I love these moments in time so much. This one didn't make me cry, I'll take that as a win. Little snippets of characters from beloved books make me happy. I adored Willis's story immensely. I have wanted him to get his hea since I first read him in the other series. An excellent book and a definite recommend to anyone looking for samples of characters and writing style.
Let me just say be it a short story or a full length journey. Susan Stoked give you a well written amazing emotional journey. It captures you giving you the story you need and leaves you full of happiness for the wonderful characters she is writing about. I just love her books and I have read slot some day in hope to say I've read them all. But the dear lady writes like crazy
Another amazing moment in Time from my favourite author. Who wouldn't cheer Annie on while she confronted the bully's. You can't help but feel very emotional when Tex meets Akilah. Baker and Peyton's stories were wonderful as well. Nicety see a very happy ending g for Willis story too. Thank you Susan Stoker for a Third Moment in Time.
I love Susan Stokers books. This accumulation of short stories was perfect for a day when you don’t mind having your reading interrupted. Tex meeting his daughter for the first time, Tex and Baker meeting, Finding Peyton and Willis’s story. All great reads, thank you Susan.
Such a great collection. Seeing Baker’s “origin” story, meeting Peyton and Snacker, finally hearing about Akilah’s beginnings, LOVING how we see more of Annie as she grows up and for crying out loud! It’s about time Willis got his HEA!!!! Especially when it includes rescue dogs. 😍😍 10/10 recommend you read this one!
Love these short stories that reconnect with other book characters written by Susan Stoker. Each one brings back memories of the reason the characters written are well loved. You get a glimpse into a secondary person's life and loves. I will be rereading this again.
Please make sure to have tissue handy as you will need them, maybe not for every story but you will definitely need them. I especially love Willis and Maylah and how they fell so quickly and she didn't even bat an eye at what Willis did for work. I loved Annie taking on the bully and the advise Truck gave her.
Truly enjoyed all the background stories on characters from other books. The book brought new light to characters from other books. These characters were not the main characters from the series and now they are in this book. Interesting how these characters evolved. I truly enjoyed the read.
This book has short stories to give you a little more background or just a moment in time with a specific character from one of Susan Stokers books. These short stories make you fall in love a little more with Susan's characters. The stories are original and the characters are amazing. I loved this book!!!!
I enjoyed reading these stories about some of the characters from other books. I especially loved the fact that through their darkest moments they found love, friendship and forgiveness. This is the third book of stories I have read by this author, and I enjoyed every one of them. Definitely a must read.
This book is a romantic suspense novel containing 4 stories. This book is a great story. 1 - A bully targets Annie Fletcher; 2 - Tex first meeting Akilah; 3 - Peyton is saved by a Navy SEAL after they are left by the boat they were on; 4 - Gregory Willis meets his neighbor, Maylah after she is carjacked.
Fab collection of short stories with some of our favourite characters from Susan’s books. It’s awesome to get a glimpse into some of the background characters who make up her main stories.
This book is perfect. If you are a Susan Stoker fan ( and who isn’t?) then these stories give extra insights to most of her series. They are beautifully written, tender, exciting and all round great. Highly recommended.
This selection of stories by Susan Stoker is perfect for anyone looking for a new author to follow. I enjoyed getting to know Willis better and happy he finally got his own story. Looking forward to more of Baker and cannot forget Tex and how Akila came into his life .
This was a remarkable book. The stories were inspiring. MS Stoker has outdone herself with a "Third Moment in Time." A must read for fans of her books, and if this is the first book you have read of hers, put on your seatbelt you are in for the ride of your life.
I love all of the Moment in Time collections. Finally meeting Willis and what a bada** he really is was great. He is most certainly an unassuming computer geek. As always...Enjoy!!!
