Don't miss these Warriors manga adventures! This box set includes three manga adventures from the world of Erin Hunter’s #1 nationally bestselling Warriors series! In the Graystripe’s Adventure manga arc, follow ThunderClan warrior Graystripe after he is captured by Twolegs in The New Prophecy #3: Dawn— and embarks on a difficult journey home. After being captured by Twolegs and seeing his Clanmates driven out of their territory, ThunderClan deputy Graystripe longs to escape his new kittypet life and go home to the forest and his Clan. When he meets a feisty kittypet named Millie, she encourages him to search for his lost friends. But with the forest destroyed, and no clear path left to lead him, how will Graystripe find ThunderClan?
Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. As well as having a great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by her interest in astronomy and standing stones.
Originally published as three b/w manga volumes, this full-color collection tells the complete story of Graystripe's capture by the "twolegs", his life as a "kittypet", and his romance with Millie, who makes the decision to join in his attempt to escape back to his beloved Thunderclan.
Erin Hunter's world of feral cats is fun, and it has a an interesting level of depth, especially around the mythology the cats have developed, and those mythological elements play an important role in this epic journey.
There are plenty of encounters and dangers along the way, and the romantic elements between Millie and Graystripe are handled with only the occasional slip too deep into romantic trope territory.
The real strength of the story is Graystripe's internal conflict as he battles his doubts and fears that his time living with humans has somehow altered him so much that he may not be able to regain his warrior nature.
This conflict takes center stage as he is forced to decide whether he can possibly compromise his beliefs that all contact with anything to do with humans must be avoided.
This is an excellent heroic journey with character who experience many stumbles, but find a way to follow their quest to its end.
James L. Barry's artwork is excellent, and the vivid use of color brings the story to life in ways that weren't possible in the black-and-white manga version.
Graystripe and Millie are SO CUTE TOGETHER!!!! I'm so glad to have finally learned what happened to Graystripe because it was killing me. He's my fave! I love that he found someone else after losing Silverstream.
"I couldn't have made it here without you. You saved my life, but...more than that...you saved my soul. You found me when I was lost, and you brought me back to who I really was."
I read the 3 in 1 graphic novel edition. A beautiful fantasy story that shows kids the difference between domestic cats and wild cats - the difference between compliance and freedom. Such a sweet and sometimes sad story that shows that life is an adventure and family (clan) along with a sense of self is very important. My only complaint is that some of the speech bubbles seemed out of order or hard to determine which to read first on the page which would be an issue for younger readers. All in all, I would recommend to those that are looking for a fun animal story to share with little ones.
Greystripe's adventure was really good! The art was stunning, as always, and I loved watching Millie and Greystripe's journey. I'm a big fan of how deeply introspective Greystripe can be - which I saw a lot of in Greystripe's Vow - and so I really enjoyed this one. I liked it even better than SkyClan and the Stranger I think!
This book was really good, and the first full manga I have read. It was about Graystripe, and his companion Millie. He and his friend travel a long journey until they finally make it to the clans at the lake
Brooklyn and I are loving this adorable series about a cat’s quest to find his tribe after he escapes being captured by human “two-legs.” This graphic-novel series is a fun read for the whole family!
Whether you are a fan of the Warriors or just getting started, this is an enjoyable graphic novel. This book contains three previously released black and white comics, but now in color for this collection. -The Lost Warrior -Warrior’s Refuge -Warrior’s Return
⚠️ Parental Warning ⚠️ For parents familiar with the series, there isn’t anything new or beyond the established lore and language.
Starclan is the heavenly clan of passed on warrior cat ancestors, friends and mates, that watch over and guide the clan cats. Appearing like a Star Wars force ghost vision, they will communicate through dreams.
The series usually contains slurs such as “mouse brained”
🚨 Controvery 🚨 There is concern of homosexual, or #Agenda based content within this series. There is nothing of that sort in this series, nor any other Warrior books that I’ve seen. The rumor seems to have started from within the fandom as a way to retcon two male characters that are close friends, to be gay. And this started from the graphic novel Ravenpaw’s Path. But the creator of the series has gone on record to say that the characters are not gay and that homosexuality will not be a factor in these stories because the cats are realistically based, and there is no homosexuality in cat behavior.
I really really loved this one. I have always loved Graystripe and just reading about his journey back to his Clan was amazing. In the main novels I am not this I to Millie tbh, but if you get to know her better she seems to be alright. Moreover, I was near to tears when Graystripe went back home and saw that his Clan and his home were gone. Same as in the end when he finally gets reunited with his Clan.

Man, why didn't I ever read this as a kid?? It answered all my questions about Graystripe's journey (my favorite character as a kid). I remember crying when he left, and being super freaking happy when he finally came back to the clans.

This book is mostly about Graystripe finding his way home. In the first book, The Lost Warrior, Graystripe is trying to save his clan, ThunderClan. Because the cats he saves were attempted to be taken away as kittypets (a cat that lives with humans), Graystripe got taken away instead and didn't like being with the twolegs (us!) and found a tabby cat that was a formal kittypet in the trees named Millie. They set off on a journey to find Graysripe's home. In the second book, Warrior's Refuge , Millie is scared to cross a big Thunderpath (a road) because there are so many cars which they call monster and Graystipe is able to get her across. They finally find their way back to the forest, but sadly it gone. In the last book, they went to find ThunderClan. They found ThunderClan and the other clans (WindClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan) all at the lake.
Regardless of being a little lost on the story line (I have not finished the Warriors original series), I enjoyed reading this graphic novel alongside my kid.
The storyline of Graystripes begins with his capture & life among humans, where he constantly misses his clan. Making a new friend & not a few enemies in the suburbs, eventually the wild in him wins out & Graystripes, along with his companion Millie, set out to find Thunderclan. Small adventures, obstacles, conflicts & a growing friendship are all excellent discussion points for my own kiddo & I.
As a parent, I deeply appreciate the common ground books can be, and the opportunities to bond they present. While I would likely never have picked this book up myself, I’ll continue to read the novels alongside my child.
This book was a fun read. I have the in color 3 in 1 edition. I read this a few years ago but I forgot what happened. But to get to the actual review it was great, the art style the storyline. I don’t like gray stripe as a character that much but I love seeing him and millies interactions. Along the way there’s so many fun background characters as well. My favorite moment from this book is graystripe teaching Millie about how to hunt and fight as well as teaching her about the code and the traditions of the warrior cats. My only thing is I really want to know more about the background characters like a novella about diesel or husker and his family.

I love the Warriors series so much. Graystripe is definitely one of my favorite cats in the entire series. (Yes I am caught up on the series). Graystripe was captured by twolegs while trying to save the cats from his clan from getting taken away and he ended up getting caught in the cage and couldn't get out. He then woke up in a twolegs den. The manga then follows him trying to escape and get back to his clan and along the way he meets another kittypet named Millie who decides to leave her twolegs and go with him to find where the clan cats went.
I really love this manga. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves the Warrior series.

When the forest is uprooted, Graystripe gets serparated from his clan. He tries to find the way back with the help of his late partner, whom he meets in his dreams. On his way back he meets the pet cat Millie, who falls for him and joins him. Together they find the clan and finally confess their feelings for each other.
It wasn´t the most complicated story, but it still is a 5 star for me cause both characters had enough time to consider their situation and fall for each other. It felt so warm and beautiful watch their feelings grow. Still it never was "too adult", but you had all the feels of First Love, at least from Millies side. I think it´s a good book for young readers!

I have never read a book like it, it tackles so many feelings and cats that i could not even put it down. Graystripe befriends a kittypet and miraculously finds his clan and all the others, while the kittypet grows into a warrior like him! Although it was short and wish they met Purdy and midnight. In the book moonrise it takes them a long time to get ro the sun drown place but it Graystripe doesn't take nearly as long. More detail and a longer story would be five stars hands down.
Over all this was pretty good. It fills the gap of Graystripe's story well. The longer the series goes, however, the less I like Graystripe generally. He's really not that loyal (I mean... he did leave ThunderClan for RiverClan for a while too) and seems to be totally ready to give up basically all the time.
It's also kind of amusing that in the same book he both asks Millie to be his mate but also states that he'll always love Silverstream, lol
Bottom line really is I know what I'm expecting coming into any Warriors book and it delivered as much as can be expected.
Reading Greystripe's dilema and his feelings about forgetting the true meaning of being a Warrior was interesting. He adopted this grumpy personality to try to hide his troubled feelings and sadness, some kind of shield that Milie is able to break through.
Their conection is amazing, and I love that he never forgets Silverstream, just realizes that now he loves Milie too.
By the way, I loved that he quickly understood the meaning of Silverstream messages. That doesn't happens a lot in the books and it was a nice touch.
My sister and I used to read the Warrior books to encourage our nephews to read. One of my nephews was more visual, so I was delighted to see Graystripe's Adventure come out in a graphic novel. Graystripe is one of my favorite warrior cats; a noble and true friend to the clan leader Firestar! For parents there is some violence (warrior cats are fighting cats), and some romance that parents may want to explain to their children while reading.
This was so cute!! I liked this way more than I thought I would, especially after feeling meh about the ravenpaw bind up. Millie is adorable, and graystripe was done pretty well from what I remember of him! I definitely didn’t read this at the proper time (I thought I’d be safe 😔), but I don’t really mind knowing how this ended. Now I’m excited to get to it in the regular story arcs!! And I want more of Millie! What a sweet cat.
This small series is definitely just supplemental material so the reader understands how Graystripe came back with Millie to the clans in Power of Three. It's enjoyable to read, but I don't enjoy reading Greystripe getting mad at Millie over and over for being a kittypet. It's what she is/was at the end of the day. The second one was more enjoyable though because he can see Millie's strengths, but the last one he goes right back to insulting her again until the end. It's definitely skippable.
