I read one poem from Anne’s exquisite testament to enduring love almost every day before writing. Her poetry, so totally accessible, spare and lyric in its profound human understanding, never fails to elicit a thrill of recognition and awe. Anne captures, within a phrase, an entire lifetime and transforms our understanding of that lifetime.
