"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly." —Colossians 3:16a Many of us want God’s Word to dwell richly in us, but life can get in the way. We’d never intentionally write chapters of confusion, failure, loss, pain, conflict, or suffering into our stories. No one plans to wrestle with her identity in Christ, to struggle to love her husband, to feel lonely in ministry, or to feel helpless in motherhood. Yet we often find ourselves in these seasons, struggling to embrace the gospel hope we need to fill our discouraged souls. Join Ruth Chou Simons in this 7-session study of the book of Colossians as she leads us through a practice of preaching gospel truth to ourselves by studying Paul’s example. In every changing season of life, we can rest in God’s character, rehearse our identity in Christ, respond in faith, and remember God’s provision for us. In today’s culture, there’s no shortage of self help, easy fixes, and worldly advice, but only the truth of God’s Word was meant to fill you up and satisfy you fully. Video

Ruth Chou Simons’ Truthfilled is a gallery through the patterns and practices of preaching truth to ourselves. She walks us through a Colossians salon of seasons–winter: resting in His character, spring: rehearsing our identity in Him, summer: responding in the faith that He inspires, and fall: remembering His provision through it all. It is an artistic masterpiece that meets the perennial frustrations and perplexities of faith with the Way, the Truth, and the Life of the unchanging Christ.
Prettiest Bible study book I’ve ever owned! I do think that the beautiful artwork and photos made me more excited to dig into this study. I love studies with lots of homework, and this is one of them. All the application questions are so beneficial, but I would have appreciated more exegesis of the text.
I desperately wanted to love this study, but just couldn’t find myself connecting to the content. The group I went through this study were in unfortunate agreement. While the book itself is visually stunning and high quality, the weekly questions and practices did not teach me anything I hadn’t already known. Our best and most vulnerable conversations had with my group going through this study were had when we went completely off topic.
I do think this book has its place and could be good for younger believers, but it was not quite the right choice for my Bible study and that severely colored my experience of it.
