Here, in one volume, are the three most famous and beloved of Og Mandino's twenty-two books:
The Greatest Salesman in the World: Originally published in 1968, Mandino's first book combines the power of parable with profound psychological insights. It recounts the legend of Hadid, a lowly camel boy, who is given ten ancient scrolls that contain the wisdom he needs to achieve all his goals.
The Greatest Secret in the World: A Complete guide to putting the wisdom of the scrolls to work.
The Greatest Miracle in the World: A touching tale of Mandino meeting the mysterious Simon Potter, who reveals ageless knowledge, hope, and inspiration.
I don't know if any of you have read Og Mandino's books: THE GREATEST SALESMAN IN THE WORLD, THE GREATEST SECRET IN THE WORLD, or THE GREATEST MIRACLE IN THE WORLD. If you have not, you should.
They are interesting allegorical messages to guide the reader toward the goal of becoming the best. Most would, on first blush, read it to be a guide to become wealthy. However, wealth is a subjective matter, with respect to the individual person. Possessing knowledge is a form of wealth. It was in one of my pastor's messages where it was revealed to me that if you make just $34,000 annual income, that you are part of the top 1% worldwide. Now that is an eye opener, for certain!
Each of the books follows from the previous and you can purchase Og Mandino's Great trilogy. If you are looking to get yourself out of a funk and change the way you do things, perhaps, this is one way in which you can attain that goal in your life. Perhaps you want to teach your children about money, this is one way you can accomplish this. Thereby creating responsibility and a certain amount of autonomy. The first and third are great stories, the second book is a great guide to teach with.
I think this is one of those books everyone should read. On the bookshelves in the bookstores and libraries it might be listed as a business book, but this is a truly a book about living life.
I have not read all three books, only the Greatest Miracle in the World. I found it very interesting and also found that much of what it was trying to say, I already believed. Perhaps this is why I enjoyed it so much. Always easier to enjoy someone who agrees with you. :-)
Refresher check in for me. Chasing something to help someone else. Early works in self-help before it became popular. In the 60's and 70's along with "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, "See You at the Top" by Zig Ziglar, Mandino's works were the leading edge of helping to change your way of thinking to transform your life. While not necessarily scientifically proven, changing your inputs and thought patterns can change your focus towards being a better person and redefining your life responses to challenges, adversity, and circumstances. Mandino delivers a method to do precisely that, folded in to an interesting set of stories.
This is 3 books in one The Greatest secret takes commitment to follow through on the call to action. And it reminds me of the Law Of attraction’s sequel the Magic. I loved the Third Book in this trilogy - the Greatest miracle in ur World. A great easy read - excellent for anyone in recovery- specifically the 12 steppers. It addresses positivity and vigilance in moving life in a positive direction with a positive mindset and a clear reminder that blessings come with gratitude in daily persistence.
What wonderful wisdom given in each of these books. The world would be a better place if we all lived our lives according to what Og Mandino teaches us through the "parables".
These were easy reads. Although the titles and some of the concepts related to selling/marketing, these books were really about living a successful life.
