Her latest book, Lost Time, is romantic suspense with a touch of magic.
Sweet and clean romance with a bit of a mystery mixed in. Lovely slow paced story with a gentle build to a very satisfying happy ending. The female main character shows a lot of growth from her immature attitude in the beginning to a slightly older and a lot wiser perspective after some mistakes and a bit of learning. I had some flashbacks to when I was this age and struggling with some of the same issues of identity and what it is that attracts us to others. Also, brothers are a sore trial indeed! The various male characters were an interesting bunch and even though they were a little cliched those stereotypes exist for a reason and they worked within this frame. Mention of off scene violence, no sex, very mild language.
I can't stand the main character. She is a teen, I get it. But she is so dumb, shallow and obnoxious that it's not pleasant to read about her. Her family and her future love interest are all very pleasant, so they made up for MC's bratty behaviour. Not enough to warrant my finishing the story, though.
3.5 ⭐️ This was a hard one to rate. I really enjoyed the last quarter of the book but I struggled with the rest, with the main character being such a brat. I almost gave up on the book but tried to wait it out and lucky I did. The ending was fun but ugh, no thanks to the main character 🙅🏼♀️
A sweet, relaxing Regency romance where the MC starts out an annoying brat but demonstrates significant improvement over the course of the narrative. I loved how all of the characters were so fleshed out, and how there was a little mystery to the story as well. Perfect for reading late at night or if you just need a comforting story. The romance is very slow burn, and there was really no sensuality so if that’s what you’re after in a Regency romance, look elsewhere.
But as a mood reader, this was absolutely perfect for what I needed in this present moment. A sweet story, a gentle romance, and a guaranteed happily ever after. 💜
