Paisley Hill cared about one thing – she was building her company from the ground up without accepting any money from her wealthy family to do it. That was important to Paisley, and she took her job as a consultant seriously, wanting to help companies grow and get more efficient because of her ideas. The one thing Paisley hadn’t cared much about in years, was a relationship. She’d been fine with casual dates and hookups every now and then, but Paisley had watched several of her close friends find love this year, and she tried to push the loneliness and fear of losing her friends to love out of her mind.
Trinity Pascal had an idea one day, told her best friend about it, and now, years later, they were trying to establish their new company with money from investors. Trinity loved problem-solving and brainstorming, but she wasn’t much of a fan of the day-to-day business stuff. When her business-partner-and-best-friend suggests they bring in a consultant to help, Trinity is more than surprised to see her old high school bully, Paisley Hill, walk into the building.
While Trinity definitely remembers Paisley, Paisley doesn’t seem to know who Trinity is, at first. As they navigate their work relationship, and things clearly start to move from beyond work-only, both women have to decide if they’re ready for something that might just be the real thing – right in time for Paisley’s nosy mother to invite Trinity to the family Thanksgiving dinner.

'THE MISPERCEPTION' is the enjoyable 5th book in the 'Holiday' series -- that again showcases Ms. Pyland's hidden layers of telling another good story --- and this time it's all about Paisleys' openness to finally finding her person. She does finds something that she has never found before, someone who feels and thinks the same way as her and with a bit of the same attributes also.
When finding that person whether by accidental meeting or through people or friends -- then realizing that while your life might be changing, it will always gets better because of Love or...
This book is at times breezy yet is meaty enough to be enjoyed.
A still recommended ongoing series to Ms.Pyland's fan base and even to other interested readers!

School crush.
I thought I liked Aria's story best but it turns out I like Paisley's one even better. To give a bit of context, this is the 5th book of the Holiday series that features a different friend of a particular friend group in each book. Paisley is one of the friends who didn't stand out much in earlier books but this book tells us more. While Paisley comes from a rich family, she is an independent woman who built a company all on her own. To Paisley, work always comes first and that means putting relationships in the backburner even when she's feeling lonely.
The turning point for Paisley comes when she develops feelings for a certain client, decides to take a step further with her and attempts to navigate their relationship to the best of her ability. I really love Paisley's story with Trinity, but I don't know if that is politically correct to say this out loud because Paisley was also Trinity's bully at school. I just thought it was really cute that Trinity had a longstanding crush on her own bully and how apologetic Paisley was as an adult even though she was never aware of how mean she was back in school.
Paisley and Trinity had legit chemistry too. The sex was awesome, but beyond the steamy bits, I thought Trinity was just what Paisley needed - a push towards a more balanced life and a considerate, understanding and reassuring girlfriend.
I think this is my favourite book of this series thus far (we still have one more friend to go).

Paisley Hill's newest client doesn't seem to like her very much but Paisley can't seem to stop thinking about Trinity Pascal. As the two go from rocky start to casual sex Paisley can't help but feel uneasy since she's never had much luck with the relationship game but Trinity is making her want to try for something more.
I have always enjoyed books by Nicole Pyland. I am loving this holiday series this year and I really liked Paisley's story. The chemistry between the two MCs is great and I really liked Vidal as Trinity's best friend and business partner. The small glimpses of Paisley's friend group were great but they definitely weren't as present here as they have been in previous books. Paisley was the mysterious one before this, with her constant travel schedule and I liked that we got to know her a bit better here. Their previous history together was also a great addition to this plot, especially since it was so different from London and Arias childhood history. As always this was well written and a fun read. Nicole Pyland always keeps me coming back for more.

I this is a fantastic series with a diverse group of friends all finding love. I was surprised by Paisley being a sot of bully back in boarding school. She works very hard to earn her own way and feels she is too busy to have a relationship. Trinity has had a crush on PJ since boarding school and those old feeling rise to the surface when they meet again. Their journey is heated and exciting in the office and out. I highly recommend reading all of the Holiday books.

This is book 5 in Poland’s Holiday series and it’s my favourite, so far.
In the previous books we haven’t seen a lotion Paisley, she’s always away for work. She’s a bit of a workaholic. Proud of the business she’s building all by herself, she has no time for a relationship. Trinity is a new client of Paisley, as luck, or misfortune, would have it, Paisley is Trinity’s high school crush AND bully. Paisley was unaware of being a bully and Trinity isn’t really over either of it. I really like this pairing because Trinity pushes Paisley to try harder for a personal life. She has her off kilter but balanced, it’s so nice. And their chemistry? Amazing. Although I think the best moments are the quieter ones, where they are supporting each other, just being together.
Oh and yes, Trinity this friend group with all their girlfriends and business parents is a lotto be introduced to and keep track of. Great of Pyland to incorporate that in a funny way.
Absolutely my favourite of the series. With one friend still to come and one book to wrap it up they’ll have an uphill battle when it comes to taking the favourite of the series crown.

- She’s the mysterious one among the friends. We read some snapshots about her; rich family background though she doesn’t flaunt it, constantly travelling for work, near ‘workaholic’ cos she just wanna make it big on her own.
- Enemies to lover romance
- Hot sexy scene and great chemistry between Paisley & Trinity
- Witty banter
- Low angst….not a fan of angst-free or low angst but that little ‘mishap’ made the story more interesting and highlighted Paisley’s character.

Solid 3. This series is kind of getting better as it nears the end. This book is about friend #5, Paisley (gawd awful name btw), and we don’t know much about her except she’s loaded but works a ton so she has her own money. Respect (thumps chest twice and points at Paisley).
We get fewer and fewer scenes with all of the 6 friends, which is good. And with all of the other friends having serious girl friends, it was just getting too cluttered with characters. Specifically with the characters from the first book. IDGAF about what’s her name and the other one at this point. There’s also MUCH less copy and paste from previous books, so that’s a bonus.
It’s still good summer time fun and easy reading. Low angst, decent spice and HEA. This one gave me some levity after I was devastated (in a good way) finishing another book and this was comforting.

Book 5 brings us the story of Paisley. We saw glimpses of Paisley in the previous books but very little so in this book we get to know the real Pais which is different that what I expected. She comes from money but insist in creating her own path which makes her work all the time and neglect her personal life. As a business consultant she gets to travel the country. Hired by a new company, she fails to recognise that her old high school colleague Trinity is her new client. And Trinity remembers all too well and boy is she not happy with her new business consultant. I tend to keep repeating myself but once again the current book becomes my series favourite.

In book 5 of the Holiday series, we get Paisley and Trinity’s story. They knew each other in passing as teenagers, but they reconnect through their work and sparks, of both annoyance and desire, fly!
I really enjoyed this book for a multitude of reasons. First, the chemistry between the MC is amazing. I felt both were relatable and I like the enemy to lover / blast from the past combination. The steam was great and there was wonderful character growth. There was no dreaded 80% break up but rather they worked through their issues and it was so nice to see. I devoured this book and am looking forward to the next instalment.
Would 100% recommend.

I knew I was going to enjoy this book because I found Paisley to be a bit sassy, but the main reason was her past with Trinity.
Bring some of that high school drama to the present with mature people, great combination at least for me.

Book five in Nicole Pyland’s Holiday series is The Misperception, and it is Paisley’s story. It could be classed as opposites attract, enemy to lover’s romance, though it depends on whose perception you take the story from.
Paisley is the woman in the group who is always away for work. She has dedicated her life to building her own business without help from her rich family, and this is something she does with pride. She has always been happy with her way of life, although loneliness seems to be creeping up on her.
One of Paisley’s newest clients, Trinity seems to have taken a disliking to her the moment they meet, and things are uncomfortable and awkward. She doesn’t realise that the two women attended the same boarding school, and Trinity remembers Paisley as the bully she couldn’t help crushing on.
There is no denying Nicole Pyland’s ability to write sizzling chemistry and hot-as-hell love scenes. The characters are relevant and relatable with fast-paced and snappy dialogue. The other couples from previous stories in the series all continue to make appearances, which is a great way to give readers little snippets about how their relationships are progressing. We also get a sneak peek into Scarlet’s story which will be the basis of book 6.

This is my favorite of the whole series 🥺
This book has more depth than the previous books
I loved both Pais and Trin so much, their chemistry is amazing, I liked how their relationship developed and how it was more complicated than the others due to the long distance and the fact that they were supposed to be casual, the way the figured everything out together and they didn’t break up over a fight or whatever, you can write a conflict and let the MCs fight it out without having a third act breakup which what Nicole did here
And The sex scenes was hot as fuck 🔥🥵
Also Paisley mother? Oh my god i need that woman in my life, she was the BEST 😭😂😂😂

Book number 5 in the Holiday series is about Paisley. She hadn't piqued my curiosity in the previous books, because she wasn't really present. But she turned out to be very nice. There's always a good dose of sex in Pyland's books, but this one has just a bit extra. At least the first part. You won't hear me complaining. It was HOT, in a very good way. 4+⭐️

This book probably contains one of my favorite pairings in all of this author's series. The juxtaposition between bully & victim, business partner to consultant is done really well. There is a bit of angst/distrust but not overly done so you can't believe the bonding. This book had a lot of steam♨️! I'm always taken back by this author's ability to keep crafting characters & stories that always draw me in.

*Honest Review as part of ARC*
Misperception is the 5th book in Nicole Pyland's Holiday series. I was slightly disappointed at first because I was so hoping that Scarlet would get her book before Paisley (mostly because I've been in love with the idea of Scarlet's character since she was first introduced and it just seemed like she was in need of love more so than the super independent Paisley), but in the end, the story was pretty good.
A classic really. High school bully turned lover.
Paisley Hill has spent nearly everyday since college graduation trying to build her own company from the ground up with no help from family or friends or employees. Her dream has led her to sacrifice so many family and friends get togethers but she's determined (and I found that admirable). She has done her best to block out the past but the past always has a way of coming back to bite us.
Trinity Pascal is from a pretty humble upbringing. She was the scholarship kid at a prestigious boarding school. She knew Paisley there as PJ Hill. Trinity was in love with PJ but felt as if PJ even gave her the time of day or sent her minions to make Trinity's life difficult. Fast forward a few years and Trinity now owns her own company that manufactures... something. It was never clear and it kind of bugged me. Her partner suggests that they hire a consultant and Trinity has to deal with PJ Hill walking back into her life.
The pairing starts off kind of rough. Mostly because Trinity has a hard time of letting go of the past and because Paisley has a tendency to act stuck up at times. I'm not sure if the coffee spill was meant to be funny but I found it hilarious. Also the drink date/dinner where Paisley's mother kind of crashed that party. Anyways, the pair soon get over this as the sparks start to fly and the love begins to grow.
Speaking of Paisley's mother- I absolutely loved the back and forth between mother and daughter. It showed a new side of Paisley that I really appreciated. I saw a woman who wasn't always so uptight and career focused. The dinamtic showed Paisley's sense of humor- something you don't see in the first few books when Paisley is mentioned. I thought this added more realism to her character- made her more reliable in a way.
I enjoyed this story but it wasn't my favorite of the series. If I had to rate it, I'd put it in 4th place, so far. I was happy for Paisley to discover that love is just as important as building a successful career. I was proud of Trinity for letting go of the past in the hopes of embracing the future; as for realizing that she needed a change and going for it.

In the 5th book of the Holiday series, we learn more about Paisley’s character. Out of all the group of friends, she’s the most mysterious to me since she’s always MIA/traveling for work. Though she comes from a wealthy background, Paisley is a workaholic, and works hard for her money rather than live off her parents. Because of her hectic schedule, she seldom has time for her friends, and definitely does not have time for relationships.
This all takes a turn when Paisley partners up with a start-up business, which happens to be co-founded by a former classmate, Trinity. Trinity crushed (hard) on Paisley in boarding school. But she was also a part of the popular clique that bullied her friend group. Trinity gave her a hard time about this, but loved how apologetic Paisley was to get her forgiveness.
I liked watching their story unfold because of how well their personalities complemented one another. Where one is anxious, the other is calming. Amazing chemistry. They support each other through various obstacles that came their way and balanced each other nicely. I also loved how supportive Paisley’s mom was of her daughter’s relationship from the get-go, which is not always the case.
Another great read from Pyland, and now I am anxiously/(im)patiently waiting for Scarlet’s story to come out!

This all takes a turn when Paisley partners up with a start-up business, which happens to be co-founded by a former classmate, Trinity. Trinity crushed (hard) on Paisley in boarding school. But she was also a part of the popular clique that bullied her friend group. Trinity gave her a hard time about this, but loved how apologetic Paisley was to get her forgiveness.
I liked watching their story unfold because of how well their personalities complemented one another. Where one is anxious, the other is calming. Amazing chemistry. They support each other through various obstacles that came their way and balanced each other nicely. I also loved how supportive Paisley’s mom was of her daughter’s relationship from the get-go, which is not always the case.
Another great read from Pyland, and now I am anxiously/(im)patiently waiting for Scarlet’s story to come out!

The 5th book in the Holiday Series is another hit! I really enjoyed The Misperception. It's an easy to read and hard put down book. This time you take a journey through Paisley’s life where you discover why she’s so hard working and focused completely on her business. Then she meets Trinity, (someone who she’s already met, but doesn't completely realize it at first) and her life begins to change. Trinity also has worked hard to get where she is in life, but is completely thrown when her high school bully is hired to help with her business. The series of events when they “re-meet” and get to know each other are hilarious. You know, overheard conversations, run ins, mustards, and all that good stuff. There are some awkward and enduring meeting the family moments as well. (loved the Trinity and Grandpa moments) Problems obviously develop, but they don't feel too heavy with the way the MC’s work through them. The misunderstandings these characters have are completely believable where at one point you're on team Paisley, but then just as quickly switch to team Trinity. Eventually you're on team Trinsley which is where you should be. These characters mentally have to tackle a lot, but do it really well and definitely earned my respect in the end. If you are looking for something with some misunderstanding, comedy, steam, and/or enemies to lovers action I would definitely recommend this book!!!

What happens when your childhood bully walks through the door? I’m not sure how Nicole Pyland does it, but with each book the stories and characters make you simply fall in love with them, I have a hard time choosing a favorite and I thought Eleanor’s story in this series was it and then she gives us Paisley’s story and I could not put it down till the bitter end. Nicole Pyland is responsible for a lot of my sleepless nights and I want to thank her for it, LOL!
In this book, Paisley has strived to be independent of her wealthy family by running her own business, which has caused her to not have much of a life, personal or otherwise. Her newest client is someone she went to school with, but someone she does not really remember. Trinity had a tough time finding her passion and with an idea she had, she created a business with a friend of hers when her childhood crush walks in, that same crush, Paisley, was one of her bullies. Paisley, though she barely remembers any of that time does her best to make amends to Trinity. They over-come their past and form a friendship that becomes so much more. The chemistry and friendship between these two characters are amazing. They are able to compliment each other in so many ways that you want them to make it. If you enjoy stories told by a writer who genuinely knows character development and is able to provide some very steamy scenes, pick this one up NOW!!!

This series focuses on a friend group from college but Paisley is perhaps the one with the least screen time so far. Paisley started her own consulting business after school and has yet to hire anyone so she is somewhat consumed by her company.
During one of her consulting trips, she meets Trinity. Or more accurately, Paisley becomes reacquainted with Trinity, they went to the same high school but haven't seen each other since. Despite going to the same small boarding school, Paisley and Trinity were not friends. Paisley may have actively bullied or at least didn't object to when her friends picked on Trinity. This was kind of hard to get over.
Despite a rocky start, Trinity and Paisley have a lot of chemistry and connect on a lot of levels outside the bedroom as well. This relationship is also tested pretty early on. It was kind of refreshing to see a romance novel couple have to talk about logistics and have to discuss expectations when it comes to professional pursuits and relationship requirements. To quote a wise book character, you have to want to work through all the hard stuff with someone.

She has now watched 4 of her 5 closest friends meet their "person" this year and is starting to feel lonely. We didn't see a lot of Paisley before since she was always working. This book digs into her past more.
Trinity's business partner, Vidal, has just hired Paisley as a consultant. When they are introduced, Trinity realizes Paisley does not recognize her, as one of Trinity's high school bullies and her crush. Trinity is pissed and takes it out on Paisley; yet, Paisley develops this attraction. They definitely have strong chemistry. Nicole can sure write sex scenes! Creative and smokin'!
I love this group of friends! Nicole continues to bring the magic into her books. This book has humorous moments. The coffee crash had me cracking up! Paisley's relationship with her mom and their back and forth was great dialogue. I loved grandpa and Trinity.
She has been publishing for 5 years yet seems like she has been publishing all of her life! She creates relatable characters that allow you to comfortably escape into their world.
I highly recommend all of her books!

The Misperception by Nicole Pyland is book 5 in The Holiday Series following straight on from the party in the last book – The Sweet Escape, book 4. I would suggest reading these books in order.
This novel follows the story of Paisley Jane Hill which I must say has intrigued me since the beginning of the series. Paisley wants to survive on her own, building her consultancy business and not rely on any family money although she does have that option. What Paisley has sacrificed is a long-term relationship due to work commitments and travel.
Trinity is an old boarding school acquaintance who has firm opinions of the young PJ Hill (they did not get along) as well as a long-term crush. Trinity and her best friend Vidal now have their own business.
The set of longstanding friends featured in the Holiday series are still here in book 5 offering friendly advice and support as well as light-hearted humour.
Paisley’s mother, bless her, supports her daughter’s sexuality. She is a great character that adds to the story.

Another great book in the Holiday Series!
The Misperception is the 5th in Nicole Pyland's Holiday Series. In the previous books you would get a little glimpse of the other friends in the group, however, Paisley was always portrayed as a workaholic. In this story you get to see that behind her workaholic tendencies, she is someone who doesn't want to rely on her parents wealth and instead needs to be successful in her own right.
Paisley only has one focus: work. That is until she meets with her new client Trinity Pascal, who happens to be a forgotten aquaintace from her private high school days. The relationship between these two starts off rocky because of Trinity's long held anger of Paisley's youthful actions from back in the day. I love how apologetic Paisley was to Trinity for the unintentional way she acted back in highschool.
The chemistry between these and the way they support each other through obstacles they face was great. I love that even though her job has been her sole focus and the most important thing to her, Paisley didn't even think twice about postponing her client meeting to rush back to Trinity when she was in a minor accident.
This book was another fantastic story and I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

The misconception has a few meanings in this book. Paisley and Trinity knew each other in high school, but this isn't a second-chance romance. The interaction at least for Trinity wasn't 100% positive. When Paisley went to college she had an attitude adjustment, as I like to call them, when she fell in with the crowd that is currently her core group of friends.
P&T meet again through a job, you know that job that P hasn't really lived her life for because she's very driven to make her company succeed. Since T doesn't have 100% warm feelings they get off to a rocky start, they clear the air.
This is where I had to put the book down. It started to depress me. P&T are a 4-hour drive apart and I didn't see how Nicole was going to write herself out of this one, you know to my satisfaction. When I picked the book back up, I got further. I started seeing the signs of where this was going and I got the steam to finish this off. I should have known better. I can't really say any more without giving the ending away. But I was pleased. I can't wait for the next book, then the where are they now so we can see how everything finishes out.

I've put a lot of thought into it and I can't decide if The Misperception or The Fireworks is my favorite. Perhaps they both are! I love how a character that comes in and out of her friends lives, kind of a whisper ends up with a whole lot to say in her story.
Paisley comes from money, and the money is there available to her, but she doesn't want it. She wants to find her own way and she is. Finding her own way leads her to someone she never expected.

Fifth in the series and I just can’t get enough.
The characters are so well written that you can relate to every one of the group of friends. The banter between them in their text groups is so real with them teasing each other and people answering a question further up the text etc., it’s just lovely to read.
This book is about Paisley the friend that we have found out the least about so far. She travels with work so cannot always be there when the group get together but is nonetheless an integral part of it and keeps in touch on the group texts especially when she can’t get home. The concept that people change from their childhood self as they move on in the adult world is beautifully described here and as always Nicole Pyland give her readers a lot to think about.
I would recommend reading this series in order to enjoy it to the full although they can all be read as stand alone books.
