This book has mature content. Proceed with care. A lot of books, shows and movies have been made on the subject of supernaturals, gods, archangels, lycans, vampires and everything else in between but this book starts with a googly. Being a great fan of graphic novels in this genre this small entree hits the sweet spot and swings the reader into the trees. A census bureau for the unnatural, a desperate broke man and a job which pays makes for great fun. Very few characters in the small booklet but it has everything packed a contract, technology, supernatural beings, a young innocent and possibility of young love. Tremendous reading.
I haven't read a comic in a hot minute, but a friend recommended this one, and it sounded interesting, so here we are.
Liam Malone is a young man in desperate need of some cash. So when an opportunity comes along promising great pay with no experience, how can he say no?
As a census taker of the supernatural beings in NYC, Liam certainly has his work cut out for him. I love the endless parade of potential creatures he could encounter, I loved the clever dialogue, and the artwork is eye catching. I would have loved for it to be a bit longer, but that's the draw, right?
Three and a half stars I guess. A funny idea--a loser who can't find a job gets one performing a census in New York... a census on supernatural creatures. On his first day, he ends up meeting a bunch of succubi, with predictable (?) results. Kind of funny, ridiculous premise, light fantasy, not bad art. It's alright.
Wow this is pretty hilarious. I love the concept and I wish the first issue was longer but boy was it funny. Will be reading issue two soon and hoping there will be more coming!
Liam braucht dringend einen neuen Job. Bei der Arbeitsvermittlung bekommt er den Auftrag, alle übernatürlichen Wesen in New York zu zählen und befragen.
Super Idee. Bin auf die Begegnungen gespannt. Mit nur 24 Seiten allerdings viel zu kurz.
Entertaining comic book. A little on the short side, but easy reading makes for some fun reading sometimes. If you want a casual comic book and are a fan of the genre, the 24 pages of this will prove good fun.
I really liked the concept but this is really not my sense of humour. There is something distinctly edgy 20-something man about it and I am none of those things.
I read all four parts that exist so far BUT I'm only making the first volume as part of my read for the year. It was interesting and I definitely hope more ends up being made in the future.
Fun read. Instantly interesting world building through the eyes of an "everyman" main character. Would've been interesting to see how he could have been fleshed out and developed over a longer run.
