Dr. Emmaline Majors (“Emma”), like many other women, saw Ford Baldwin as the runner-up on a dating show. He has all the qualities most women look for in a man. So when his 8-year-old son Sam encourages him to participate in the bachelors’ auction fund-raiser, he agrees, even though he still doesn’t feel ready for dating since his wife died.
Emma bids on Ford and wins the date. When the sitter can’t watch Sam and Ford has to take him along on the date, Emma and Sam bond like best friends. But Ford still is doubtful that he can love someone else, afraid of the pain of losing someone again. He lets his fears take hold and he pushes her away. Will his son, Sam, be able to convince him that sometimes even scary things can turn out to be good and are worth taking a chance?

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I really enjoyed this one.
Ford and Emmaline met when she goes to a charity event that he's going to be auctioned off at. Emmaline has seen Ford on tv when he was on a bachelor show, but he didn't win. Ford's son Sam put him on the show. Now for a charity event to benefit the hospital Ford is being auctioned to the highest bidder. After Emmaline mets Ford and his son she bids on him and wins. While working at the hospital Emmaline is paged, she finds out that Ford's son's babysitter can't watch him for their date. Ford wants to know if it's alright if they have a change in plans and take his son Sam with them and they all go to the winter festival. Emmaline thinks thats a wonderful idea. Ford's son Sam wants to know if Emmaline wants to play a few games before they go on rides. Emmaline and Sam win a few prizes. Soon Sam wants to go on the ferris wheel, and tells Ford and Emmaline he'll ride by himself. Ford doesn't like close spaces even though he's a firefighter and Emmaline doesn't like heights. Ford kisses Emmaline, when the ride stops the operator has to get their attention to stop. Ford needs to get Sam home for bed so he asks Emmaline if she'd like to come over for a glass of wine. After Sam is in bed, Ford and Emmaline sit on his couch drinking wine, she pulls him to her and kisses him. Ford takes Emmaline to his bed, where he pleasures her then they make love. Ford and Emmaline are curled up in his bed, when Sam comes calling for his dad. Emmaline makes it to the bathroom before Sam comes in. Ford finds out that Sam has been throwing up and has a pain in his stomach. Emmaline comes out of the bathroom to check on Sam and tells Ford she thinks he should go to the ER. Emmaline works with another doctor who tells her that Sam needs to have surgery. So Emmaline goes and tells Ford, Sam's appendix is inflamed. Ford finds out that Sam is on pain medication to help with his pain. Ford. asks Emmaline how this works, and she tells him that Sam should be back in school by next week. Emmaline asks Ford if she can get him anything and he tells her he's fine. So Emmaline stands and hugs Ford. Emmaline comes and finds that Ford has fallen asleep, he jolts away. Emmaline offers Ford some coffee, and tells him Sam made it through surgery, and he's fine. Ford soon realizes that for the first time in years he depended on Emmaline, he let his guard down for the first time since his wife passed. Ford doesn't think he can do this so he tells Emmaline, he can't do this he can't do them. Ford tells her it's not her it's him, he tells Emmaline that he's not ready. Emmaline tells Ford it's okay Sam and him deserve to be happy. When Ford finally gets to see Sam, he sees that his son is happy. Sam asks about Emmaline, and Ford tells him she had to go home. Ford finds out that Emmaline was in checking on Sam, and brought his elephant and lots of Jell-O. After Ford talks to his son, he finds out that maybe he should take a chance on Emmaline. Emmaline gets a emergency code for Sam's room and takes off. Emmaline finds out that it was Sam who paged her, but Ford tells her that Sam is fine they'll be headed home today. Ford asks Emmaline if she'd like to come over for dinner. Emmaline asks Ford why she thought they were over. Ford was extremely happy with his wife and son, Sam until, his wife was killed in an accident. From that day forward, he lived for his son. Everything he did was for Sam, but Sam decided dad needed something for himself. Sam being wise beyond his years got his friends in school to help him file an application for his dad on "The One " a reality TV show. He was excepted, but he did not win. It did lead to a local bachelor auction for charity at the local hospital where he met Dr. Emmaline Majors. She was so taken with him back stage watching him and Sam. She bid and won the date with him. They had to take Sam with them on the date and everything went fabulous, but was Ford ready to move on with his life? A beautifully written story of someone picking up the pieces after a traumatic event in their life and moving forward. Sam was priceless and Emmaline was perfect making all the characters fit together seamlessly.

Emmaline is a doctor who has the winning bid for the sexy widower but it is his son who really is the instigator in them having more than just the obligatory dinner date. It seems Ford has finally found the woman who can help mend his broken heart and open it at the same time.

This is a very good single dad instalove romance because this single dad just doesn't feel like he can love again after losing this wife. Emma feels the deep connection after their one date and wants to move forward. Even though Ford feels deeply for Emma he is afraid to give himself a chance at love. I loved this story, instalove, hot and steamy with great characters and a little boy who can make the adults face their fears. Awesome read.

This is another awesome read from this author. He’s a single dad who has an 8 year old son that wants him to start dating, so he ends up at a bachelor auction where he is bought by her, the doctor at the local hospital. He doesn't feel like he can love again after losing this wife, but he feels the deep connection to her after their one date and wants to move forward. But he’s afraid to give himself a chance at love, so the kid has to save the story. This is a lovely insta-love, hot and steamy story with solid, lovable characters.

Fantastic single father romance with all the feels! I even cried a little during this book. Ford is a widowed single father who’s son feels like he needs to find love again. Emmaline is a doctor at the hospital that is hosting the bachelor auction fundraiser. These two are a perfect match from the start but Ford is afraid to find love again for fear of losing it. Their first date was incredibly sweet with a very spicy ending! Plenty of chemistry and steam between Ford and Emmaline! I also really loved his son Sam and his role in helping these two find each other.

Ford is a widowed single dad and Emmaline is a doctor with no time for dating. Sam is Ford’s son who wants his dad to get to dating. Ford goes on a reality tv show and is loved! So, he does a local bachelor auction and Emmaline wins him. They have an instant connection as do she and his son. Ford struggles with moving on, but makes it right. This was a really good, heartfelt story with some steam and the cutest little boy ever!.

Emmaline wins the auction and gets her date with Ford. They fall hard and fast for each other, but Ford is scared to loose another woman that he loves.... Instalove, sweet, romantic , fun to read and safe with a sweet HEA 😍😍😍

There are some ups and downs during this story and Ford is trying to get past a previous trauma that has him second guessing his wanting a relationship with Emmaline. This was a really cute short book about an auction with a single dad.... Ford son becomes his wingman but Emmaline loves the little boy as much as the dad.... I loved how she fit into their family, but also understand where Ford is coming, he went threw alot after his wife death, but there was chemistry between him and Emmaline that they couldn't denied.... I enjoyed this and will tried more from this series....

This was a really cute single dad romance. I liked the flow of the story, it was short so everything happened fast but it wasn’t rushed. It had some drama but I didn’t think it was too much. Ford and Emmaline had a lot of chemistry and I liked them together. I enjoyed reading this story.

Ford and Emmaline meet during the bachelor auction. His sweet, brave son has signed him up for a couple of things to get him ready to mingle and get out there. Ford falls but is scared. Luckily Sam, his son, is brave and outspoken. Emmaline falls fast as well. This story is sweet and fun. This is my honest opinion of this story received from the author.

I think this book might be my favorite in this series so far. I absolutely loved this story. Sam is the sweetest cute kid ever and a little sneaky too, Emmeline is a beautiful smart doctor who takes a chance on a Date, and Ford is a single father who will do anything for his son.
This story was funny, enjoyable, and I could not help but fall in love with all these characters.

What a cute book this was. 8 year old Sam keeps pushing his dad to go on dates and live his life and in the process meets and falls in love with Doc Em.
This book had all the Kate Tilney feels Insta-love, Fast Paced and quick read. You won’t be disappointed in this story.

Quick short entertaining read. Lovable characters with wonderful chemistry and some smexy times. Lovely appearance by main characters young son who is encouraging his father to find love again. HEA after some angst but not too upsetting.

Emmaline can't help grin watching Ford's son give him a pep talk before he goes on stage to be auctioned off for Charity. He is precious and hilarious in his advice to his Dad. She can't help bidding on a date with Ford and try and get him to live and love again.

Loved Ford. He has a good heart raising his son as a single dad, he's done a fantastic job. Emmaline comes into white lives and just fits perfectly, but Ford is afraid of losing someone else. Such a sweet story.

Tear jerker
I love when a short story is so good that you get attached to the characters and feel the sadness and pain they feel. I also love a good single dad romance, and this had both.
