Talk about an addictive story!
I seriously flew through this book. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough because I needed to know what was going to happen to Hadley. I was so excited when she stumbled into the twins' lives, and I immediately thought, Okay... is this a new favorite trope for me?
Then Matteo aka Gramps entered the picture, and I was completely sold. I fell for this MMC from the moment he appeared. And don't even get me started on his nickname for Hadley... Kitten. I absolutely adored it.
Hadley is such a strong FMC who refuses to let anyone walk all over her. But love has a way of making you question what you truly want, and she let it cloud her judgment for a while. Even so, deep down I knew she never would have been truly happy if she'd stayed with Jackson.
The second Matteo came into her life, I knew it. This is it. Matteo and Hadley belong together.
And the whodunnit? It had me all over the place! I had a different suspect every few chapters, and just when I thought I'd figured it out, the story kept me guessing. At one point something finally clicked, and I thought I'd solved it, but the way everything unfolded was so clever. It made the story even more addictive.
Now I'm dying to jump into Book 2 to see how everything wraps up. And you already know I'll be rooting for my man Matteo the whole way!

I have no words for this book oh my gosh it is so good i finished it yesterday morning and im still thinking about it the next day in this book we have hardly who came from the “wrong” side of town. She gets charged for a murder she is trying to convince the whole town that she didn’t do it but then she meets Mateo her lawyer and the banter between these two is so funny Mateo believes that she didn’t do it so he does everything in his power to try and get her free lines get blurred and he just wants to show her that she means way then she believes herself to be if you like a book that keeps you guessing all the way though then this is the book for you

Wow, what a great crime thriller..
Hadley is charged with the murder of her boyfriend but when her boyfriend's brother hires a lawyer things start to heat up.
This book had me guessing on every page and man was I wrong, amazing twist I loved it.

Great book
I loved every second of this book. I love romance, suspense and a good thriller story, and this is it. Half way through the book I wondered what on earth could happen next. I assumed that would be the ending, but oh no, there's so much more to come.

This was my first book by C.E. Invernizzi, and let me just say...
I went into this expecting a romantic thriller. What I didn't expect was to become completely invested in both the murder investigation and Matteo and Hadley's relationship. I honestly had no idea who to trust, and every time I thought I had figured everything out, another twist came along and proved me wrong. 😂
Matteo is one of those characters you can't help but love, even when you want to roll your eyes at him. He's confident, driven, and has this tough exterior that slowly starts to crack the more time he spends with Hadley. Their banter, the tension between them, and the way they slowly begin to trust one another made me fly through this book.
Hadley was such an easy character to root for. Imagine finding your boyfriend murdered, being accused of the crime, and realizing your only hope is putting your life in the hands of a defense attorney you don't know if you can trust. Enough said!
I should have known there would be a cliffhanger, but I was still completely unprepared. The second I finished, I immediately needed to make sure I read the next book, because there was no way I was leaving Matteo and Hadley's story there!
If you love books that blend romance, suspense, and a mystery that actually keeps you on your toes, this one is absolutely worth picking up. It had me hooked from beginning to end, and now I completely understand why readers keep recommending this series.💖📚✨

This is the first book I’ve read by C.E. Invernizzi, and it definitely won’t be my last! I’m immediately diving into Book 2 because I have to know how everything ends for Hadley and Matteo.
I’ve never read a romantic thriller before, but wow… this might be my new favorite genre. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Hadley and Matteo. A hot millionaire lawyer who may be rich now but grew up poor, just like Hadley? Say less.
The twists in this book were absolutely insane I never knew what was coming next. It really shows that not everyone is who they seem to be, and sometimes the people you trust the most are the ones who can hurt you the worst.
If you love romance packed with suspense, shocking twists, and incredible chemistry, I definitely recommend picking this one up!

This book had my attention from the very beginning. This was my first crime/murder mystery in a long time and it definitely didnt disappoint. I absoultley love the authors writing style and characters.
We follow Hadley who is being charged for murder and her super sought after defence attorney Matteo. Hadley is trying to get everyone to believe that she didnt commit this murder but no one other than Matteo and a select few actually believed her.
Hadley comes from the “wrong” side of the tracks but gets into a relationship with a boy from the “right” side of the tracks. Matteo is this big shot defence attorney who only wants to get Hadley freed and to show her shes worth everything.
Lines are getting blurred. There is someone trying to keep from anyone being in Hadley’s life. Can Matteo prove that Hadley is in deed innocent? Will the real killer be revealed?
Pick this book up to start to solve the murder. Can you figure out who the murder really is?

I LOVE a good crime thriller! As my original favorite genre, I was so excited to read this book and I have to say it did not disappoint! The very first page had me hooked!!! I couldn’t put it down. I read this on my kindle and after finishing it, I now know that I need to purchase a physical copy! I need a shelf trophy, that’s how much I absolutely love this book!

A tightly written mystery-thriller that kept me guessing the entire time. The final twist was genuinely surprising, and the cliffhanger sets up the next book beautifully. This is just the beginning of Matteo and Hadley's story, and I can't wait to see where it goes. Easily a 5‑star read.
