Ich bin nur so druchgeflogen. Sehr intensiv und gleichzeitig sehr ruhig. Alles in allem einfach die gewohnt tolle Atmosphäre. schön zu sehen, dass die Geschichte auch ohne viel Action funktioniert und fesselt. Der Zeichenstil lässt mich auch in Band 4 geradezu erfürchtig zurück. Jetzt kann ich nur hoffen, dass Band 5 nicht so lange auf sich warten lässt wie Band 4.

Okay, okay, I'm a little confused, but I mostly really enjoyed this. A lot of questions get answered in this volume! which was very nice, and I loved seeing more of Katsuya/Shinohara. I'm not sure what I think about the ending yet, because I don't know these new characters, well, "old" characters that resurfaced, because they are from Undertow: Illustrated Novel, one of the prequels, which I didn't read, and I can't get a feel for their relationship/dynamic yet. Soo -- I'm hyped that I got another addition to this series, but I'll hold my judgement for this upcoming story arc until the next volume. Overall, loved the art, loved the explanations, less action and more backstory in this one, mixed feelings about the end of this!

I loved the Artwork, the paperback came with three!! Beautiful illustrated cards.
I loved to get more of the backstory!
I would recommend to read Undertow before ITW4

**** Avis global sur les 4 tomes ****
J'avais acheté le premier volume de cette série il y a bien longtemps (dans une galaxie lointaine, très lointaine... ahah ^^). Ce n'est que tout récemment que je me suis décidée à me plonger dedans !
Il faut dire qu'à la base, je ne suis pas spécialement une fan de manga, du moins ceux que j'ai déjà tentés ne m'ont pas laissé un souvenir impérissable. Pour moi, tout va toujours trop vite, et je tique beaucoup question romance, consentement, toute ça tout ça.
Dans « In these words », je n'ai pas ressenti cet empressement. Les mangaka ont bien mené leur histoire, qui est d'ailleurs surprenante chronologiquement parlant. L'univers, les dialogues, tout est bien posé aussi. Le début est très énigmatique, mais toutes les pièces du puzzle se mettent en place au fur et à mesure. Toutes nos interrogations trouvent leurs réponses à la fin, même si j'aurais aimé en savoir tout de même d'avantage.
La psychologie des personnages est bien travaillée et l'intrigue générale est captivante. Les dessins, les planches sont superbes et le texte bien écrit. J'ai aimé cette ambiance sombre et pesante de début, qui nous tient jusqu'au bout d'ailleurs.
C'est une saga très addictive, je me suis empressée d'acheter les trois tomes dès le premier englouti, pour les dévorer eux aussi dans la foulée.
Ce qui est certain, c'est que je veux en savoir plus sur l'univers de cette saga mais aussi des studios Guilt|Pleasure !

The magnificent filler in Volume 4 is a prelude to the impending mind fuck of a story that will unfold for Katsuya and Shinohara. The art keeps getting finer and more distinctive than the last, and I got to appreciate Shinohara’s design and devotion to our gorgeous Ice Queen. Undertow, a separate novella, is essential to comprehending the volume's concluding scene.

Diese Manga-Reihe ist wirklich etwas besonderes, aber nicht immer nur im positivem Sinne. Der Veröffentlichungsrhythmus ist eine Katastrophe und das bei dieser komplexen Story, die mit ständigen Zeitsprüngen einfach total verwirrend ist. Dies ist das großes Manko der Reihe, meiner Meinung nach. Ich finde diese psychologisch aufgebaute Story bei der die Polizei gemeinsam mit einem Psychologen einen Psychopathen/Mörder finde will, wirklich grandios. Doch der Leser wird mit sehr verwirrenden Fakten gefüttert, die meist erst in einem oder zwei weiteren Bänden eine Sinn ergeben. Ansonsten steht man sehr oft da und weiß gar nicht recht wie bestimmte Sachen zusammenhängen, wieso da gerade etwas passiert und was der Autor einem eigentlich vermitteln möchte. Dieser vierte Band bietet zwar einige Antworten, aber endet auch wieder mit einem enormen Cliffhanger und das obwohl sicher die nächsten Jahre kein neuer Teil erscheinen wird. Das ist einfach nur nervtötend.
Inhaltlich kann ich daher aus Spoilergründen nichts sagen.
Ich kann nur sagen, dass ist wirklich Mindgaming vorm Feinsten. Nur eben leider zu sehr aufgestückelt und man hat bis zum Erscheinen des nächsten Bandes oft schon wieder fast alles vergessen.
Die Beziehung zwischen Katsuya und Shinohara gefällt mir sehr und dieser Band hatte auch wirklich viel davon. Die erotischen Szenen sind eher wenig und es spielt sich mehr auf der emotionalen und sozialen Ebene ab.
Der Zeichenstil ist klasse. Die Mimik und Gestik ist wieder sehr ausdrucksstark.
Auch die Aufmachung des Mangas ist Hammer. Dieses softe Cover fühlt sich sehr angenehm an und die drei Prints, die als Extra beilagen, sind erste Sahne.

The tragic, tensely beautiful aftermath of Shinohara showing just how devoted he is to Katsuya while Katsuya puts the pieces of himself back together again took my breath away. Watching Katsuya use his experiences of being abducted, violated, and nearly killed in tandem with his psychiatric training to analyze the killer was the most powerful depiction of vulnerability being weaponized I’ve seen since I watched a certain profiler offer himself as bait to a certain devilishly manipulative therapist in a certain television series. Watching Katsuya respond to Shinohara was a touching breath of fresh air amidst the darkness. To top it all off, Katsuya revealed he had one than one dangerous man dangerously obsessed with him in his life as his reckless youth was fleshed out beautifully. All in all, this was an exquisitely gripping new chapter in this erotic thriller.

Considering that I didn’t even knew, that this Series Had another Volume and then having the audacity to End on a Cliffhanger, I’m more than slightly annoyed.
It’s Sad, this was one of my fav Series. Yeah, many Questions were answered and it got wholesome in few moments, but still don’t like where the Story is going.

A peine reçu, aussitôt lu. 4 ans entre le T3 et celui-ci, autant dire que je n’allais pas attendre davantage pour le lire.
L’histoire reprend là où elle s’était arrêtée sur le T3. C’était un régal de retrouver cet univers sombre et torturé. Cependant, faut être honnête, autant d’attente pour pas grand-chose. L’intrigue n’avance pas. On reste bloqué dans les flashbacks, donc aucune surprise à l’horizon. On a quelque bribe de l’enquête mais pas d’évolution significative et c’est bien dommage.
Si j’ai adoré retrouver les personnages (surtout mon chouchou Shino), on retrouve quelques séquences émotions, mais rien de bien transcendant.
J’ai tout de même apprécié la lecture de ce tome mais j’aimerai tellement que le prochain fasse avancer l’enquête avec plus de péripéties et de complications pour nos héros.
Bref, je suis impatiente de les retrouver, et j’espère qu’on n’attendra pas 4 ans de plus pour avoir la suite (et peut-être fin ?) de l’aventure.
