23 books6 followersI am a clinical psychologist with a second doctorate in Ministry, an ordained interfaith minister, and the author of 12 books on the psychology, spirituality and mysticism of the second half of life.
Upon turning 75, I felt the compelling need to spend time in solitude, to live more fully in the mystical consciousness I have been writing about. So I did. I stopped doing workshops, talks, papers. For three years!
As the experience deepened, I started spontaneously writing mystical poetry in the tradition of Hafez, Rumi, Kabir, Gibran. It was a complete surprise. Hundreds of poems poured forth, and they keep coming from the deep place of God’s residence in my soul.
My first book of mystical poetry was titled, I Am God: Wisdom and Revelation from Mystical Consciousness. My second book, just published, is called, Divinity Rising: Beyond Illusion, Suffering and Death. You can learn my work at www.johnrobinson.org.

During tough times, it’s hard to imagine anything positive and peaceful. Life seems so very chaotic. Difficult economic conditions leave us feeling tired and worn out. Perhaps, we all could use a little piece of heaven.
Finding Heaven Here is a timely book that reminds us that no matter what is happening in our life, we can find peace and joy. Using the author’s Heaven’s Compass, he shows us that we tend to spend most of our thoughts and energy on worldly things and in darkness. It’s no wonder that we feel so overwhelmed. However, the compass has four directions and the other two directions are heaven on earth and divinity. It’s all a matter of seeing where you are and changing directions appropriately.
I very much enjoyed Finding Heaven Here. I began reading with a very dark feeling hanging over me but now understand where that heaviness comes from. Moreover, I was able to easily adapt the exercises provided to match my interpretation of the divine.
