Self-doubt limits our perception of our potential and diminishes our joy and hope in who we are and what we can become. When we don’t feel good about ourselves, we have help. Jesus Christ saves us from not only our imperfections but also our imperfect understanding of ourselves. This book explores sources of self-doubt and the impact of positive psychology in changing our thought patterns. It emphasizes and often-ignored dimension of the Atonement of Jesus how Christ helps us overcome self-doubt and unproductive thinking.
I was gifted this book from someone that walked the Camino with the author and I loved the book! I felt that it brought me a lot of hope and clarity! Recommend to anyone trying to come closer to Christ!
I almost gave the book five stars, but I try not to hand those out too easily. But this book might be a five star
I picked up this book to read, because my daughter was having a little bit of guilt for having questions with the gospel. I have explained to her that questions are good and that she shouldn't feel bad. I saw this book and thought it might be nice to read and might help give me some good insight for my daughter... It was so much more
This book had so many things in it that really resonated with me and with issues of today, I have a hard time even explaining exactly what the book was about.
I can accidentally judge people for not having hired standards or for not working harder in the gospel, and it addressed issues like that. It also addressed issues for people who have doubt , it also just issues of people having problem with patience. Problem with forgiveness , grace, explain the atonement, understanding living in the now. It just seemed to touch on so many things.
Don't know if the reason this book was so good is because it hit so many things I've been really struggling with personally, or if it was because it was truly that good. All I know is I love this book and very quickly felt like it was one a lot of people would benefit reading. I will definitely be reading this one again. It's one that I would want to sit down and study.
I really liked how it helped explain how we accidentally fall into some of these problems. I also feel like she did a great job giving us tips of how to get out of these problems we find ourselves in. I thought it was good for people who are fully living the gospel and I thought it was good for people who struggle in the gospel. It really was a very versatile audience.
I also really appreciate that the author actually presented solutions and real situations. Not to be harsh on women, but I feel like often women leaders and authors in the church, they're so big on being so focused on feelings and emotions, they don't actually talk about the foundations of the gospel. It's always about love and grace and not really on the purpose of why we're here or the issues at hand. This book has a nice balance of reminding us of the love and forgiveness and grace, but actually focuses and talks on issues and solutions.
What a sweet sweet joy this was to listen to!! The words, the thoughts, the ideas and concepts, and her voice.
I think I’m going buy a copy of this book. If I’m going do her “Think And Ink” prompts I want them to be where I can easily return to them, where they make sense, and have greater relevance.
This was indeed a thought-provoking book. She put a “new spin” on a couple of old topics and I liked it.
A nice book with some interesting perspective on how Christ's Atonement also covers the crippling effects of self-doubt. There are prompts at the end of each chapter to help you journal through some personal doubts. I loved how she tied it all together with her journey along El Camino De Santiago. A year after reading it, though, I can't tell you what specifically I learned, so while it's not that memorable, it's a good in-the-moment book and worth 3.5 stars.
Such a beautiful book that reminds us of how to more fully rely on Jesus Christ. I especially loved the part about Kintsugi, a Japanese art form that takes broken pottery and makes it more beautiful. We try so hard to avoid being broken, when we should Focus on letting the Savior’s atoning power make us whole, stronger and more beautiful than before.
Excellent book about how the Savior can help us overcome all of our faults and weaknesses. This is one of the better recent books from Deseret Book. I listened to the audio on Deseret Bookshelf Plus.
Oh how I needed to listen to this book! I believe we will all eventually get to the point(s) in our lives where we are shown we cannot do it all on our own. I need a Savior and I also need to trust Him and actually accept and receive His help!
This is a book I will read again. So many great insights, and exercises to do to help you feel the love of Jesus Christ in your life and overcome self-doubt.
Initially I wondered where this book was a year ago or even years ago- but also I know I listen to/read certain books at the right time in my life- this was definitely one of those books! Loved it!
