From Love Uplifting stories of faith, forgiveness and hope.
Living on a remote self-sufficient homestead in North Idaho, Patrice Lewis is a Christian wife, mother, author, blogger, columnist and speaker. She has practiced and written about rural subjects for almost thirty years. When she isn’t writing, Patrice enjoys self-sufficiency projects, such as animal husbandry, small-scale dairy production, gardening, food preservation and canning, and homeschooling. She and her husband have been married since 1990 and have two daughters.
With her uncle's health declining Esther Yoder wants her uncle's sale of the store to go through. Little does she know the buyer is Joseph Kemp, the man who spread rumors about her in her hometown before she moved in with her aunt and uncle. Esther is afraid her past will threaten the sale. Can they forgive each other or will old guilt stand in the way? I liked this book. Want to read more by this author.
Ms. Lewis wrote a book that kept you fighting for our heroine to win in all aspects of her life. I hope that the next book is about the 'bad sheep of the family.' This novel is a perfect pick-up to laze by the window during a summer storm and enjoy the day inside. You will honestly feel the story is about you or someone you know growing up to adulthood.
When Esther was in her teens her and Thomas were caught by his brother Thomas were caught in a compromising position. Rumors were spread and Esther moved out of her community to live with her Aunt and Uncle.
This book was really good. When Esther was in need her Aunt and Uncle stepped in to help her, Now it's her turn to help her Aunt and Uncle.
Check out the book I enjoyed the character's and the story.
I loved this book! The mystery of what happened to Esther kept my attention. Then when Joseph arrived causing her anxiety that made the story more intriguing! The trouble Thomas caused added excitement to the plot of the story! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for mystery, excitement and Gods hand in people's lives.
Esther Yoder left her hometown due to a scandal. She moved towns away and started over with her Aunt and Uncle. Her Uncle taught her all about the mercantile business, which she excelled at.
Now her Uncle is sick and needs to sell the store. Who comes to buy it? Joseph Kemp, the guy who sullied her reputation!! Uh-oh!!!
I love when an author puts you right in every scene with the characters as you eavesdrop on their lives. Lewis is one of those writers. She transports the reader to a time and place few go. Although this is placed in the present, it could easily be the heartland of the U.S. during the 1800's. I did get slightly confused in a couple of places and had to go back and reread parts.
I truly enjoyed reading this book. Esther found that her enjoyment in quilting was a healthy way of relieving stress and as a way of finding forgiveness.
A lovely and enjoyable read about love, forgiveness and many other lessons to be learned. It's also a quick read that will keep you engaged up to the very end.
