Join the tight-knit MacKenzie clan as they dodge killers and unravel mysteries, finding love and renewed faith along the way. A series of clean, inspirational action adventure romances, each guaranteed to lift your heart.
I liked the information about arson. The investigation sounds credible and police are efficient. Characters are competent lending credibility to the story. It was nice to hear more about other characters from past books. I will continue to read the next books in the series. I used the virtual voice. While the narration is subpar, it does allow me to complete the books while working mundane household chores, a blessed distraction from the boredom.
Rising Fury’s character arc was predictable because it is the same as the other books. This and every other book in the series has “loner” characters. The “loner” character, in my opinion, is very selfish and often untruthful as well as untrustworthy because he / she tends to lie, omit information, and flee when problems arise. It is difficult for me to listen to them preach about Jesus when they are so untrustworthy, so lost in their own heads. I have no sympathy for them because they would rather run than do what is right and love others as Jesus commanded us. Ultimately, that isn’t a psychological problem; it’s a character and spiritual problem. They don’t just need to realize God loves and forgives them, they need to repent. If James dealt with their problems that way, gradually showing growth and change throughout the book, I would have enjoyed all the books more.
4stars. I purchased a copy of the Christian Romantic Suspense Rising Fury: Mackenzie Cove Book Four by Edie James, and this review was given freely. A story of redemption, forgiveness, and love intermingled with a serial arsonist, and attacks on a halfway house/ charity for teens. Sentenced to 6 months of light duty and made the department’s public relations officer after a building collapses leaving him injured, the seasoned fireman captain Dante Mackenzie struggles with nightmares, his growing feelings for returning entrepreneur Rachel Scott, controlling his anger, solving the case of an escalating arsonist, and his feelings that he caused his mother’s death. Contains a good amount of violence, people who are not what they appear, and a happy ending.
Another fun family suspense in this fast-paced series set in the north-California shoreline. It's been fun to see previous characters reappear and it's also nice to settle in for another story in a similar flavor as the rest of the series I enjoyed.
Dante has a lot of demons from the past to battle and he hasn't felt ready before to let his family help him shoulder any of the burden of them with him. Rachel is sure her worst day of the past can never quite be forgiven and forgotten, but she's doing her best to reach out to needy teens with her shelter house.
Wow! I love this series. There is a lot of action, suspense, faith and romance. It is Dante’s turn to tell his story to the reader. He is a firefighter who was injured in the line of duty. Now he is trying to stop the arsonist responsible. Rachel had been shunned by the town when she was younger yet she managed to start a halfway house for troubled youth. She has returned to the Cove while her director is on medical leave. This is a great Christian suspense series that is highly recommended.
As with most books in the Christian Suspense Romance genre, the story is a bit formulaic. But like a good Hallmark romance movie, the books in this series are light, fun reads with some unexpected twists and character development. Edie James does a good job of driving the plot forward through action and a variety of circumstances without sacrificing the underlying romance. I enjoyed Rising Fury (MacKenzie Cove #4) and recommend it for readers looking for clean, contemporary romance suspense with Christian themes.
Interesting and Intriguing, the fourth book in The Mackenzie Cove Series. This is Dante's story and it packs a punch! Dante and Rachel are both loners and outsiders but trying but not really understanding how life, faith, and family really work. When Rachel comes under "fire" for her work with disadvantaged teenagers, it is Dante Mackenzie who comes to her defense. Read this amazing, standalone novel in this series and enjoy Mackenzie Cove and the Mackenzie Clan.
Rising Fury is a wonderful suspense read as it involves an arsonist. Dante, a firefighter who has been injured in the line of duty, has demons from his past. Rachel, who was shunned by the town years ago, returns to MacKenzie Cove to ensure her foundation continues, but someone's not happy she's returned. This story has tension, danger, intrigue, and twists and turns. Who is the villian? Who is targeting Rachel and why?
I love the McKenzie Cove series and Rising Fury did not disappoint. Dante and Rachel’s love story is full of suspense, doubts and secrets. Dante is the perfect dark broody hero protector and Rachel definitely needs saving since someone is targeting her. The twists and turns keep you turning the pages and you might be surprised at who murders who!
While each book is stand-alone, I love the MacKenzie Cove series! Rising Fury is no exception! It's full of the adventure and great characters that one associates with Edie James' novels. I love how she develops each of the MacKenzie sibs with their skills and struggles, and wraps it with a story of excitement, faith, and family. Already waiting expectantly for Book #5!
The way Edie James does mystery of who is the killer or bad guy is amazing. I always think I know who it is and then I am wrong to who it is. Love how faith is inputted thru out the book. This is a great read. Cannot wait to find out what really happened at their mothers accident .
This book has great characters that I enjoy with entertaining suspense with some twists. I like the way some of the characters display their faith or their struggles with faith. The romance is light and clean. It's a very enjoyable book!
I loved this installment of the MacKenzie family, focusing on Dante and Rachel. Their pasts present several issues that need to be addressed before they can truly begin. There’s a great mystery as well as continuing revelations regarding the death of Mom MacKenzie. Great characters with intense mysteries.
I never thought that Dante was going to get through this story without his heart being completely smashed in a bazillion pieces. How this story ends will melt your heart. EVRey step Dante took, Rachael always took 10 steps further back. What a great book this is. Enjoy.
My review today is the Christian Romantic Suspense, Rising Fury. This is book four in the series, MacKenzie Cove. This is an awesome book. It’s well written, action packed and full of faith. Edie is one of my favorite authors and I love when a new book comes out. Now I'm back to waiting for the next release. This book is well written, action-packed, and full of intrigue. I know you are going to love it.
Dante MacKenzie was injured in a fire when a beam fell on his leg and broke his femur. He is now working to try to find the arsonist that started the fire that injured him and several other fires. Can they find him before he harms someone else? His school friend returns to town and is now a target. Can he keep her and the kids safe?
Rachel Scott has returned to MacKenzie cove to keep her foundation going. Her manager is in the hospital. The home houses teens that are at risk. Several people in the area are trying to shut down the home. Rachel had her own set of issues with the town. She pays for everything but will the town allow her to stay until she finds a new manager? A terrifying journey as these two broken souls try to discover who is trying to destroy their city. God has a plan for these two, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Give Him your heart and watch Him turn your life around.
This one had me in years at the end. Dante's heart and change are truly beautiful and so very precious. Thank You, Jesus, for always accepting us back, for always loving us! A great read! I highly recommend!
Awesome read. The ebook has been out for a while, and the paperback is still coming. I re-read the first three, and couldn't wait, so I read this one on Kindle Unlimited. Will still buy the paperback if it ever comes out
The Reiko House is about to be closed and Rachel is fighting to keep it open. Little does she know that a crazy man is planning to burn it down and destroy it along with her and the residents.
Dante has always been on the outside looking in when it comes to his family. But the guilt he carries leaves him there. Thus book was well written, I thought I had it figured out, then something unexpected happened. Good clean romance.
This is another great addition to the series and I can’t wait for the next one! This growing family grows on you! I encourage everyone to enjoy this fun and suspenseful series!
dante is the firefighter of the family but carries a burden he does not think he can share but when rachel is attacked he has to help her if he can and just maybe they can unburden their souls to each other . this is a good story from start to finish
Edie James continues to provide her readers adventure, entertaining characters, intriguing storylines and Christian values. If these are the qualities you look for in a book, !lol no further. Great series try it you'll not be disappointed.
Love the family and their faith in the Lord and each other. The mystery grows and when you think you have it figured out, surprise. I love how the community keeps growing and changing for the better. Love these books!
Another winner in this series. You can't help but fall in love with this brother who's always on the fringe, looking in at his loving family, feeling like his guilty secret prevents him from joining his dad and siblings.
Have loved reading this Hope Landing Series! Keeping you on your toes to find out who did it. Edie James is a great author to follow. Can’t wait for the next one to come out in June.
Good, fast pace, clean read. Looking forward to the next book and next Mackenzie Cove drama. Thank you, Edie James for hours of listening while I work.
This story was so well done. I loved the family dynamics and the suspense of the story but Dante finally talking to his dad had me crying. Great series.
