A new mother, Rachna is unhappy with her life and her decisions. Her best friend Devi understands it’s a phase of postpartum depression. She tries to soothe and comfort Rachna, but Rachna only seems to regret her own life while she compares how much fun Devi’s life is - as a travel blogger, getting to visit new places while learning healing practices like Reiki.
Rachna desires to go back in her past, reset it and restart living as per her choices. Choices that will make her life exciting.
Will Rachna be able to change her past? Will she fulfil her dreams? Or will she make more mistakes leading to another troubled life? What happens to her baby? Where is Jay in the new life?

I love writing stories that are straight from the heart. For me, the key element to live a happy life is smiling through whatsoever comes her way.

Rachna and Devi's lives described in the book could be anybody's. At some point, some of us chose to be Rachna, and some, Devi.
Like Devi says, the fun is in not knowing the future. Going with the flow, with the hiccups and smooth riding.
Reset. Restart. Resume is a wonderful book about a new mother, Rachna, who is fighting Post partum depression. I was able to resonate well with Rachna. The author has captured the nuances of motherhood very well. Be it the unkempt hair or constant exhaustion, Namita has captured it all so well.
The pressures of being the epitome of sacrifice after giving birth to a child is so humongous that many new mothers succumb to it. They take drastic decisions or just silently resent the existence of the helpless baby. Truth is, instead of glorifying the entire motherhood journey, if women or other people could deal with it practically it would be so much better.
Kudos to Namita for this book. It was a timely read for me. 👌
The book deals with two important issues - depression and regret in a delicate manner under the author's trademark style of simple and easy storytelling. Through the characters, one connects with the what-if questions that plague many of us in our life.
This is a very beautifully written book. Postpartum depression is an issue that should not be ignored. And most of us would have at one point in time wanted to change our past. So this book is for all of us who regretted our choices. A very heart-touching, short read, that will confuse us as in a trance. Happy reading!
Becoming a parent change your life dramatically. When you hold your new bundle of joy in your hands, you may wonder what it means to be a parent. Being a parent means you are now the mother or father of a baby. Most new moms experience postpartum "baby blues" after childbirth, which commonly include mood swings, crying spells, anxiety and difficulty sleeping. Baby blues typically begin within the first two to three days after delivery, and may last for up to two weeks. But some new moms experience a more severe, long-lasting form of depression known as postpartum depression. Rarely, an extreme mood disorder called postpartum psychosis also may develop after childbirth.
Reset. Restart. Resume by Namita Das is a very short story about Rachna who is a new mother to a baby boy. She is naively suffering from postpartum depression and emotive chaos. It is then her best friend Devi who helps her to come out of it. Devi is a travel blogger and Rachna longs for the life of Devi. The book then travels to the past where Rachna changes her life. What happens next is something not to be missed and to be experienced personally while reading this book.
With just 26 pages, this very short book has life lessons to offer the reader. A novel concept which is brilliantly written by the author in a very simple and easy-to-understand language. The author juggles easily between the past present and future in the book and explores the concept of two parallel lives with ease.
This a recommended read that will make the readers think about the most important question in life, What If…
I really love this short story. Why? Because it’s base on a thought that many of us think at one point in our lives. I absolutely recommend it to young adults and adults. A powerful life lesson with a twist. What I love most, is the author’s ability to explain to us the concept behind her ideas. A great short read with a powerful message.
Sometimes in life, we feel the urge to time travel and set things right! And it was one such urge that redefined the lives of three people! As usual, well written and narrated in a very simple manner with timely humours! I loved reading it.
A short story that teaches us to accept our present without regret over our past actions and decisions
My rating: 4.4/5 Rachna is unhappy in her life, being a new mother and a wife to her loving husband, Jay. She talks about her dissatisfaction to her best friend, Devi, saying how her life would have been different if only she had taken decisions differently in her past. In the next instant, Rachna finds herself at that point in her life where she took those decisions. Will making different choices make her happier?
