Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
The Covid fog has lifted and my braincells are back. (I haven’t decide if that’s a good thing or not. You know what Tame Impala said - ignorance is bliss)
I am stopping this weird binge marathon here. Ironically, this felt like the final book in a series but it isn’t? Idina defeated her big final boss, made peace with her family and reconnected with her long lost uncle. What is there left to do? Idk because I won’t continue but good luck too and Godspeed for all those who are continuing. You’ll need it.
Idina has finally found the perfect unit to be a part of AND a family to boot. I loved the battle with The Olc, but I wish her twat of a grandfather had witnessed the whole thing. I'm so excited for the next book to find out how he reacts to her saving his pitiful life!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
If you’re not a fan of Micheal Andrele’s writing but are a fan of the story, I’d suggest Graphic Novels audio version. It cuts hours of filler & sticks to the plot rather well. It’s an improvement but it’ll be an extra $10 easily.
Idina and her Uncle, Richard, are training hard, to get them BOTH ready for the confrontation they know is coming, where their family monster, the Olc, is concerned.
Idina is also adjusting to working with a whole new team of people, and even more so, with those who also have magic - though each soldier seems to have their own kind to play with!
Between training with her Uncle, and doing the same with her own team, Idina doesn't appear to have much time to think about just how crazy her life has become and yet, day by day, she settles well into the new routines that her training has created.
But, when she finds out that one of her team is a true Warrior, such as she and Richard are, with his whole family trained in battle magic, then she starts to believe that ANYTHING is possible, and just how, and where, this information can be used.
This seventh book of the series really explodes with action, and Idina very much comes into her own, where her magic is concerned.
I really enjoyed getting to know her new team mates, and found all the twists and turns of the story to be highly entertaining.
This story ended on a really positive note, but there's still more to tell, so I'm going to go on to read Book Eight: 'Ready For All', to find out what's going to happen next to Idina and her Team.
So, once I've done so, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I thought about it all!
I started this eighth book a little reluctantly feeling as though I was kind of finished with the series, but to my surprise I absolutely loved it! It almost felt to me like the first book with all the rousing adventure that made me read another then another then another book. Going into this one, learning that The Warrior tale had grown into an 11-book serial, I expected the authors to string out the storyline along a similar path to what had come before. Consequently, I was startled [and DELIGHTED] to find some of the pieces of the story wrapped up in a way that felt very satisfying. Now, I GOTTA know how it’s all going to end. On to book 9!
Idina and her new team blend into family. Family needed to fight Olc to death
Idina continues to train. Her new team becomes the family she had never had. They understood her and had her back like she had never thought would happen. She learned the weapons needed for her battles and how to give others the support needed to finish the battle. Now the Lt Colonel her uncle decided to fight the last battle without backup. She knows it is the wrong thing so asks for help from her extra family. And they backed her and her uncle without his knowledge, they backed her to the last man and women.
Now with a new Company of magic Idina is learning more about her own magic. How to control it. How to use it effectively. Idina knows she and Richard need to kill the Olc. Idina is also learning how tight Bravo Company really is. The battle against the Olc takes place at Idina is and Richard's childhood home. It is a very exciting and a "can you believe that" ending. Spoiler Alert: cussing, blood and guts, violence. Great job. Can't wait to read more of Idina's missions. Thank you.
Ah heck, what is there to say? Carr & Anderle have written another winner. Idina & her uncle figure out that family can mean many things, a monster is only as unbeatable as you allow it to be, and magic is awesome. Not a typo to be found (mostly because nobody said "whoa", which both authors tend to misspell), the plot was tight & moved at a good pace, and the world-building was consistent through the series & very imaginative. Looking forward to reading the next one! Highly recommend to buy or borrow on KU. Loved it! 9/10 unicorns 🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄
With all the futuristic gadgets in this story it could be now or sometime in the near future. To is a compelling tale of a young soldier learning about her warrior past and the powers that come with it. As the newest member of an elite team of "monster" hunters attached to the military all things are possible with help. Hard to put down even by a old lady closer to70 than 17.
Idina finally has a permanent unit that fits her skills and finds she also has a family that that she doesn't have to hide her magic from. Her new unit is made up of soldiers with their own skills that they can use against the things that go bump in the night. Great storyline with plenty of action and magic. This book finishes one of the main arcs and I can't wait to see what they are up against next.
This entire series has been exceptional and different than anything I've previously read. I love the characters, the action and interactions. There is something for everyone in here. I can't wait to see what comes up next. This book as well as all the others in this series has been a real "can't wait to see what happens" page turner. Well edited also. 5⭐
I really think that this is my favorite book in this series (so far)! Idina learns a lot about herself and the military in this episode. Some good, some bad, just like real life. She is transferred to a new unit and learns quirks and habits of her new teammates, hopefully being able to stay with them for awhile. The ending is very action packed and may also resolve some issues.....hopefully. I can't wait to read the next one!
Idina and her new team go through all sorts of exciting and amazing adventures leading to new relationships and the ending of old ones. Missing her old friends until the new ones become more than that. This is such a good story. Can hardly wait for the next part.
I just adore this series. The characters are so compelling. The suspense is carefully orchestrated. The fun of watching abilities grow, learning new characters and seeing them come together in complementary ways. When I see the latest book has been released I can’t resist reading it in a day. Then j have to wait for the next!
A very nice end to this arc! Can't wait for the next! Will Idina ever have a romantic interest? Possibly not since this is a military structure. I hope Idina and Richard are able to expand on their familial connection in future books and become closer despite the military structure.
Now we are getting somewhere. Somewhere dangerous and dark. Adina is finding her footing with Team Bravo and being able to acknowledge her magic. Heck everyone's magic. I have loved every Adina book but this one is extra special. Can't wait for the next one. Enjoy!
While all the books were good, this one was great. I hope Martha and Michael keep the series going. Seeing the family nemesis finally get destroyed was cool. Keep up the great work. Martha, you have to keep living for another ten years or more. You just keep getting better.
Idina is learning how different things can be when she gets the opportunity to become part of a very different unit. Instead of having to hide her unusual abilities as she learns more about using them to their fullest in company with other magic users. However the danger presented by the Olc remains in her thoughts.
It's not about money or prestige! It's about being there for one another and having their back when needed! Harold Senior doesn't have a clue what true family is, and unfortunately I don't think he ever will. But Dee has her real family in her uncle and Bravo Team!
Another great adventure in the Warrior series. Awesome characters and writing make this one a great read. I love that this story brings up the understanding that sometimes family is more than blood. I am so glad I read this book and I really liked the ending. Now on to the next one…happy reading!!!
Great series (even though some of the books were frustrating while waiting for the next one). Glad they finally came together (team & family). Really looking forward to what's next for these characters.
Idina is with Bravo as a warrior, it turns out that there is another warrior in the group. She becomes a part of this new group and they become family. The family that she and her uncle end up needing to attack the Olc!
This was the best so far. Idina has finally found a home with the Bravo Hellion team . She and her uncle the colonel finally face off against their age old nemesis. Good read.
While I agree it started slow, but, it all came together and I am glad it did. It was well worth the wait. The author could continue the series with missions and finally give Idina her own squad.
This series has me nonstop burning through it, the action which is intense, the feelings of anxiousness as the story leads up to its unending crescendoes, excellently written to keep the reader, involved.
Yes, now a team Now a family Will the past team mates show up? I personally thought they were very fun The story came together! Hope that the rest of the story is just as fun Great stories Great characters
I really enjoyed this book. It round all the other books before it, and finally gave it a great ending. I’m sure Idina will still have more adventures ahead of her!
