Good things come to those who stake.

The nephilim have big plans for me––but they’re not the only ones.

The fae magicked my blood and are using it in ways I never imagined. Brisa and her allies will stop at nothing to obtain my light, even if I die in the process. And my own relatives are intent on weaponizing me against other supernaturals.

But I’m tired of being everyone else’s pawn.

I'd rather be their villain.

The start of this book really dragged a bit for me. It may just be that my mind wasn't in it because I was focused on other things in my life at the time though. Whatever the reason, I ended up really enjoying the book because the ending really pulled everything together for me. I was so happy with how things ended. The author did a great job of plotting things out and creating a satisfactory ending for her readers. As a whole, I have been so smitten with this series. I love this author's take on vampires and other supernatural races. I enjoyed the main character's journey throughout the series and the romance left me wanting more. I can't wait for the next book from this author!

True Death is the fourth and final book in Nina Walker's Vampire and Vices series. The plot of this book took unexpected turns and had plenty of action and excitement. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, from the first page to the very last.

It's been a minute since I've been in this world but Eva, it seems is just as annoying as ever. Is she really that bad, no but she just rubs me the wrong way. She's still reactionary and making rash decisions in the moment but at least she's starting to show improvement by thinking things through. Eva became really crafty in this story, finally using her brain and her heart. I think she's starting to understand the vampires a little better and stop hating them based on their species, so growth. She's also finally admitted her feelings about Adrian and not only to herself but she confesses to him as well.

Adrian is a complex character, not bad, not good, just very morally gray. At times I like him and at times I don't. This time around I'm leaning more towards like. He has also admitted his feelings for Eva to himself and to her as well, so yay. He's also very growly and possessive in this one and like Eva, I'm not mad about it. Eva admitted to being the one who always cared more about the people in her life than they did her, at least now she has Adrian.

Everyone wants a piece of Eva. Sebastian and some of the more untrustworthy vamps, her crazy nephilim family, and everyone knew Barisa wouldn't stay down for long. All of them were in a deadly struggle for power and now the fae have joined the game. I love reading about the fae so I was excited that they had a much bigger role in the final book and man did they change everything. I didn't trust or like them at first but turns out they weren't that bad, however, they were still as crafty as I expected. Things totally changed. Eva became more important than ever and Mangus was a true friend and ally to both Adrien and Eva. There were a few battles, a major plot twist that dropped my jaw, some tender moments, a few reveals, and a possible hint at a spin-off.

What a read! True Death was epic and my favorite of the series. Nina was really creative with her plot and kept me guessing the entire time. I will admit I was really nervous about who was going to make it till the end because of the number of issues Eva and her allies were facing but needn't worry. However, Nina blew me away with an ending that no one could have predicted. True Death was a fantastic ending to a great series.

After reading the Color Alchemist series I became a loyal fan of Nina Walker. The vampire and vices series is equally awesome while being totally different than her other books. From the beginning I loved the contemporary world she created of vampires and humans interacting out in the open. It honestly was a very believable storyline. Obviously there are magical elements since you are dealing with the supernatural but it still was plausible. Eva is a tough girl and I like to see how she grows throughout the series, from being totally against all supernatural beings and thinking they are evil to realizing that not all are bad and in fact, most might even be decent or good. Her ultimate goal has always been justice and equality. Isn’t that what we all want? I felt myself getting frustrated right along with her as it seemed hate, pride, prejudice, greed, arrogance… well vices, really, we’re going to win out at numerous points throughout the story. Even Eva felt that the only way to come out on top and ALIVE was to sink to the “bad guys” level. So not fair. Anyway, thankfully this book resolve things in a way that I can feel good about. But boy do you go for an emotional roller coaster of a ride to get to that point. All of the twists and turns! Pretty sure I yelled “What?!!!!” out load more than once while reading. Scared my toddler and husband when I did, too. Highly recommend this series. Honestly I recommend all of Nina Walker’s books to everyone of my book loving friends.

I was very excited as to where this story was going to go cause it really could have gone anywhere.

I liked having the point of view with Adrian more in this one and felt like we got a little pocket look into him and his life a lot more. He is very protective and I enjoyed seeing more of his relationships with people, especially with some characters like Mangus who I really enjoyed.
Eva definitely did grow more in this book and seeing her come into her self more especially with all of the different situations she found herself in.

Overall the story was enjoyable and was an interesting twist on the supernatural genre. I did feel like there was a little too many aspects that were added though the world can be expanded on a lot with a number of the different side characters.

Excited to see what this Author does next!

Oh my goodness! So many twists... But they are awesome! The ending surprised me most of all. But I loved it! Nina never fails to keep me enthralled until the very end! I go through her books so fast! This is a perfect combination of all the creatures/characters Nina has imagined for us. I loved that there was a little more fluff to get the spark burning a little more in this book. You really begin to see Adrian and Eva’s connection through this book more. Way to go Nina! Now I don't know how I'm going to wait until your next creation comes out. I've read all of the books now! Nina is one skilled and amazing author full of so many fantastic ideas. Her creativity is beyond compare! This book is a must-read!

What a whirlwind!
Although I get pretty annoyed at Eva, her choices and her personality, I still enjoyed this book. She didn't seem to develop as much as I would have hoped, she was still pretty childish by the end.
Also, just as a warning for parents: there are some pretty spicy moments, that I was a little uncomfortable with, but not as spicy as the last books. (I wouldn't want my young teen reading it yet).
Besides all of those things, I really enjoyed reading this! There are crazy twist and turns that I didn't see coming! I'm pleased how the series ended, and wish there were more to this series!

I love the Vampires and Vices series. When I started the series, I wasn't sure what to expect. However, once I started reading the series, I couldn't put it down. It's so fun to see how the story unfolds and how the story lines and all the different races and characters interact. Nina is able to capture your imagination and pull you into the world she created. She makes you fall in love with the characters. I'm hoping there will be a spin-off series. Maybe with the newest race introduced, at the end of the story, since we didn't get to learn much about the race and the secrets that still loom there. 😀 -Che'ree

Just like every book before in this series, True Death doesn't disappoint when it comes to plot twists you didn't see coming! I love when I feel like I know where things are going and bam! a totally different thing happens! I always have to keep reading to see what else is going to happen.

It was interesting to see Eva's character change through the series. There are other characters that I would love to know more about, and maybe they'll have their own store someday.

I've always enjoyed whatever Nina writes, and I can't wait to see what else she comes up with!

Wow, what a twisted and wild ride!, this book is the perfect finale for this fantastic series! 🤩
I have loved and enjoyed this series from the start; Eva is amazing and Adrian, hot! 😍
The plot of the Nephilim VS the rest of the supernaturals was so intriguing, and then discovering that... wait, you have to read the series to find out, because, damn!, I didn't expect a lot of things that happened in this installment, but loved how everything turned out; amazing job Nina! ❤️

What a wonderful way to end the best vampire series I've ever read! So many unexpected twists and turns, but the ending couldn't have been more perfect. I could barely put this book down! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a spinoff series because (no spoilers) I'd love to know more about certain events/races. I'll be reading this series again in the future, for sure.

I have loved this series since the first book and have fallen in love with the characters.

These books were filled with so much emotion and turmoil but also strength and love. I really enjoyed following Eva and Adrian’s story and couldn’t have asked for a better ending.

A fantastic finale!
The vampires & vices series has whisked me away from the first page. Eva has grown so much through this series, and I am thrilled with how all the tangles and loose ends came together in the end. This is going to be a series that I keep coming back to for sure💜

enjoyed the entire series

This was a good series all the way through. It’s rare that I find a book that I don’t skim through some of it. This one kept me entertained the entire series. One of my favorites.
