Putting on the Mind of Christ: How to Conquer Your Thought Life

Rate this book
Someone once said that “you are not what you think you are, but what you think, you are.” The Bible says it better in Proverbs 23:7, when Solomon wrote, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he...”

Your thought life is the foundation of who you are and what you will do. You cannot do right and have an impure thought life. We are told by Paul that we should, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 2:5). How do we put on the mind of Christ? Is it even possible? The exciting answer to these questions is yes! It is possible, and God has given us a road map to accomplish it.

In this book, Dr. Carter explores the process of putting on the mind of Christ and developing a fortified mind that is protected against the attacks of the enemy. You can have victory over your thought life through the truths that are written in God’s Word and explained in this book. Don’t spend another day without the victory God has made available to you.

This book is essentially an in-depth look at the book of Philippians. To conquer one’s thought life is only possible by putting in the mind of Christ. This is the theme of the book. Dr Carter takes an expository approach to explain and apply each verse. You could use this book as a daily devotional very easily. Dr. Carter has a wealth of experience dealing with those who are in the midst of beating addictions. His approach throughout the book is so practical for everyone as we seek to overcome the sins that so easily beset us.

The only drawback is again the editing. Many times throughout the book there are spelling and grammar mistakes that could easily have been removed with a good pre-editing. Don’t let this keep you from a great Bible study book. Just realize that you need to slow down sometimes to figure out exactly what he means.
