The benefits of sports in day-to-day life are amazing. Many people are starting to be concerned about their health and one way that they do this is to engage themselves in different sports activities. If you want to have a healthy body you should start by picking the right kinds of food to eat and of course, it will be more effective if you will exercise too. However, many people especially the older or more mature ones are too lazy to go to the gym to exercise. One good form of exercise that will be more enjoyable and fun is by having a sport. Studies have shown that playing sports can make you live a longer and significantly healthier life. Regular exercise leads to a lower body mass index and more developed muscles which can lower the stress on both organs and limbs and makes it possible to be mobile for longer.

Also, another important topic covered in the book is the jargon used by runners. Many new words like Cadence, Recovery Run, Fartlek and many more find their way into our vocabulary.
This a beautiful book to learn the techniques of running and installing these beautiful habits in the fitness regimen.
Health is a very important thing in our lives. We practise many things like proper diet and exercise for our healthy life. Running is also a good exercise and this title grabbed my attention instantly. There are many things that can be learnt from this book…
Here are some lessons from the book about the running effect that I understood. The book has a lot to offer and you should give it a try to get a comprehensive information and knowledge in one place:
To get started with running, here are some tips:
Start slowly: If you're new to running, start with short distances and slow speeds, gradually increasing the duration and intensity of your runs.
Warm-up: Always start with a warm-up, such as a few minutes of walking or light jogging, to prepare your body for the activity.
Use proper form: Maintain good running form, such as keeping your shoulders relaxed, your arms bent at 90 degrees, and your feet landing under your body.
Rest and recover: Rest is just as important as running, so make sure to incorporate rest days into your schedule to allow your body to recover and prevent injury.
Stay motivated: Set realistic goals, track your progress, and mix up your routine with different types of runs, such as interval training, hill workouts, or long runs, to keep things interesting and challenging.
Remember, running is a journey, not a destination. It's important to enjoy the process, listen to your body, and celebrate your accomplishments along the way. This wonderful book was suggested to me by a family member as a way to educate me and, ultimately, assist me in attaining my aim of being active and healthy.
" Most runners run not because they want to live longer, but because they want to live life to the fullest." - Haruki Murakami
This is one of the quote I read in the book. It was a surprise to see one of my favorite authors quote in a book I started loving. The chapter ended on a high note with me making notes about the impeding new year resolution and the author " Sweta Samota" tips to make it work.
The book is about running. The benefits, essentials to keep in mind for a runner as well as a beginner. The authir gave a good outline about the do's and don'ts, the myths and the necessary mindset to make running a part of one's lifestyle.
I was into sports but once college ended, my connection with sports or one can say - physical activity severed. However, with marathons being in vogue and looking at the wonderful inspiration around me, I wanted to restart running.
The authors book was also one reason for me to start. I really enjoyed the examples stated in the book, the frank tone in which the author conveyed her thoughts made me feel like I was go coversing with the author upfront.
The key points at the end of each chapter also acted as a reference point for me to remind and motivate incase I wanted to delineate.
Coming to the language of the book, I found it crisp and to tye point. The author has done great justice to the subject she has taken and her passion towards running is evident.
Hopefully, I'll be as passionate about running as I was and I'm surely motivated to give it a go after reading to the authors encouraging words.
Running has been a passion for me since I was a child. Growing up, I heard a lot about PT Usha and coming from the same state, she has tremendous influence on me.
Running on the beaches were a fun activity whenever I visited Kerala and this habit decelerated as I started growing up and couldn't visit my hometown owing to exams, hectic college classes and erratic work life. But those moments on the beach served as a nostalgia I still visit in my memories.
But the pandemic and the work from home practise has totally crumbed my wishes to go out. Hence, action has to be taken and that too quickly. I badly wanted motivation to get my body out of the sedentary position I was used to.
Thus, upon research, I picked up this book and saw that it was a recent release. I gave it a read on my kindle and I got the much needed boost to my lethargic brain. The authors story and her inspiration pumped me up. The author kept a positive tone throughout the book and it surely had a positive effect on me.
As suggested by the author, I slowly increased my momentum and its been 20 days now and I can say that I am enjoying my time outside and also reliving my childhood memories which I so longed to revisit.
This book is amazing for anyone who want to start over and start afresh any activity and mainly running.
The book will provide you with all the details on what happens when you start exercising and how to start doing it. There were a lot of questions answered like can we run in a saree. what is suitable clothing for such exercises etc. I love how every detail for a beginner was written down and explained and on top of that here are few things you must know before you start running which will help you decide why to start running.

The book running effect by the author Sweta Samota has worked like magic on my psyche. I had several preconceived notions about running. Partly, it was due to my own misgivings and partly due to paying heed to the many voices surrounding me.
The author did a fantastic job in dispelling all my negative thoughts and confirming the pros related to running.
I had a notion that running couldn't be taken after a certain age and this was for my aunt. She had to reduce weight but it wasn't going to be a easy job. She is like a mother to me and honestly, Google couldn't answer all my queries with honesty or may be I couldn't rely on it completely.
The author through her various examples, her own experiences and a friendly tone calmed my nerves and cleared my doubts.
Another doubt I had regarding running was how much one needs to run. This might sound like a clumsy question but I couldn't maintain the consistency due to this and finally had lost heart for a while. But this book acted as a guidance and helped me understand basic things one needs to keep in mind to have a balanced running regime.
I wrote this book review as I felt that many also must be facing the same issues and I strongly feel that this book will help you and answer your queries. I hope you find it helpful.
I have seen many in my neighbourhood who go to morning and evening walks enthusiastically. The sight of them giggling or the general atmosphere of togetherness in the community is a spectacle to watch.
I have observed that this kind of atmosphere is created anywhere there is a park and if one resides nearby, one will never feel isolated in a concrete city atmosphere.
Coming to running, though I felt motivated to pick up running shoes and give it a try, my busy schedule and also my lethargy kept running at bay.
However, I had recently made a resolve to pick it up seriously and as a person that I am , I wanted to gain complete information before I venture into this. During my research, I came across this book and I have to confess that it enriched my knowledge, misconceptions and understanding about the benefits of running.
Having a holistic information about anything is important for one to be able to venture ample amount of time and also to do it wholeheartedly.
This book broke my several my several myths about running, the importance of the right mindset and others.
I appreciate the author for giving information about her own experience which made this book more relatable.
Overall, it's a great book to pick up if anyone would like to start running or learn and demystify myths related to it.

Running has not been my forte when I was a child. May be because I was more of a healthy child. But as I entered my college days, I started taking part in sporting events and I fell in love with running.
I still remember how we ran for the relay in the district level competition and we won gold. Those were great moments. However, after college, I lost in touch due to work. But what you love always comes back to you.
I joined a running club and this book was recommended by the coach. I read it and I have to say, it was inspiring. I could discuss the incidents with few other members and it surely motivated us to pump up for the upcoming marathon.

“The habit of running can help you install the habit of completing what you start.”
Multiple interviews along with the author's perception about the activity as an activity made the book more interesting one to engage in.
The simple writing style and the impressive content added to the books phenomenal work. I loved the book as it has been written to serve each prospective reader. Not confining the book to any particular age group opened dimensions of the same like one couldn't even imagine.

Although we all are well aware of the dynamic changes one can observe in himself one's we engage ourself in running as a regular activity, still there are much more benefits that comes along in the way.

I love books that focuses on practical aspect. Although running is always a great activity to indulge in but trust me I haven't ever been motivated intensely to bring this one into my routine. But finally saw a change in myself that too a positive one after reading this great work of the author titled,'The Running Effect'.

Like many people, I have often found myself hesitating to take the necessary steps to bring about change in my life. The author's words reminded me that patience and perseverance are the keys, and that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
Tl;DR - Not meant for experienced fitness enthusiasts/runners.
Finished reading this book over the last couple of days and at the outset I must take a moment to appreciate Sweta for the efforts she has invested in becoming a marathon runner. It is no easy feat by any stretch of imagination.
That said, the book itself comes across as very superfluous and extremely generic in its coaching for runners. The training plans are very high level, that anyone with a working knowledge of fitness can create. And in today’s day and age of AI, perhaps chatGPT could toss out a better structured training regimen.
It’s a mish-mash of a handful of stories about people who took up running (again, kudos to them) alongside her own personal journey into fitness, followed by a very loose training plan.
Perhaps this books would have been better placed as a biographical account of how the author overcame obstacles and became a runner instead of a self-help book on how to become a marathon runner.
The Running effect... partly a reflection of MY RUNNING JOURNEY... A simple guide to truly start taking care of oneself. I am a firm believer of better late than never. This book details on running - how to start, what are the initial glitches, hurdles and caution points, how to sustain running as a habit and lifestyle. In addition, the testimonies are truly inspiring. Over the years, I have realised the significance of some form of physical activity as part of the day. It is not only essential for physical health but also has miraculous impact on mental health as well. Find atleast a 30 min slot for yourself & let that be a way to show gratitude to yourself for SELF Love & YOUR well being. I run for myself with no lofty ambition or formal training. I learnt it myself with baby steps over the years. Listen to your body, respond to its immense signs and alert. That's the easy way. Everything starts with a small step.
We all know that there are many benefits to running. It helps in keeping us fit, which in turn keeps the diseases at bay.
The book tells us everything there is to know about running. Though running is a general phenomena , I didn't know that I had so many misconceptions about it till the author addresses it in the book.
It was good to know that an hour of running adds 7 hours to our life. That is, it adds 3 extra years to the dwindling life expectancy.
The author has covered every aspect possible. I liked the jotting down of key points at the end of every chapter and helped me to recollect points.
I also feel that I need to keep several things in mind before taking up running. Health is offcourse at the forefront .
Lastly, I thank the author for a good book on running which I didn't find elsewhere. It's indeed motivating and educative.
Do you put any effort to make yourself healthy and fit?

It's true that a healthy mind dwells in a healthy body. And to be blessed with both, one need to maintain one such a routine that will serve its purpose in a highly effective and impactful manner.
What I loved about the book is mainly the writing style that helped to clarify all those doubts and misconceptions of the same that ligers around her mind but are never clarified. A great effort of the author to cater to the reader with the best of the best techniques to make the best of their mind and body.
What to see a change in yourself ? A change you are desperately craving for but ain't able to get the expected results .

The Running Effect, written to serve its readers to mold your actions for one's own benefit is the sole purpose with which the book has been penned by the author.
The content of the book is written by the author's own experience and observation, making it quite a relatable one to go for.
The use of words are simple yet precise to make it an easy read. The benefits of physical exercise are many but yet we don't cater much attention to the same. So instead of juggling over multiple exercises to stay fit and healthy let's inculcate a simple habit of running in form of jogging or walking to experience uncountable changes in oneself. Each one of us wants to look good, feel good. But when it comes to taking advice or assistance from others we confine ourselves in a nutshell.
This amazing book came as a recommendation from a friend to enlighten me and altogether help me in achieving my goal of stay fit and more lively.
The outcomes of running are always tremendous, but the only problem with we humans is that we are too anxious looking forward for quick results, that leads to not being consistent in our efforts. Which is totally not going to help.
In totality this one serves its readers to get a hold back on their life and induce into all those habits basically running habits and other physical exercise in order to attain outstanding results, but all this is assured and delivered by one's consistency towards their goal. Because great things take time so does great mind and body.
