(Sigh)...Where do I start...

I loved the story, but I hated Maeve character. She went back and forth with her feelings so much that I have whiplash...one minute she is all into the guys..couldn't possibly leave them..then the next minute she is all you killed my kin..we are enemies..blah blah blah..I don't mind the adult scenes but sometimes it's too much and takes away from the story...and it's usually some type of danger going on or a serious situation the dealing with..but um hey..let's knock boots. I really don't even know how the mer king is gonna bounce back.from stabbing her either..somethings ate forgivable..but come on...the fact that she even slept with them after they used her to slaughter a bunch of her kin was far fetched enough..but now one.of her men stabs her..yeah ok. I'm curious as to what will happen , but my dislike of Maeve is enough to make me pass on the next book.

Every time I look at book 1 & 2’s cover I keep expecting the book to have some really dark moments, like torture, rape, dark play whatever. Sadly, there is none. Book 2 did continue with some of the same problems that I found in book 1 but not as much. I honestly probably won’t continue to book 3 when it come out in March unless it jumps out at me and it free. Book 1 & 2 were free. There were 2 chapters of the MMC POVs in this book not nearly enough.

Whoa!!

Action, betrayal, fate, and war. There’s so much going on and Maeve is still trying to figure out her role in everything. Now she’s a wanted person and still a pawn and she hates it. Two of her princelings find her and claim her. But there is still a war to end. I can’t wait for the rest!

Man, I was so into the first book! This follow up though just fell short for me. If I'm being honest 2.5. I felt checked out at times, and a lot of this plot didn't really move the story much. Maeve still is not a great main character and we didn't even see two of the main males for a majority or at all in this book.

Great Under the Sea RH

Enjoying this series! RH is my favorite trope and I like how this one is playing out slowly. I’ve been on a mermaid kick lately (okay, so she’s a undine) and this one is perfect. Will be starting book 3 tonight. :)

An amazing book to be perfect I just need mord Rainn and Tor and less Cormac (I can't stand that man)

This book allowed me to piece together more of the world, so I was able to vusualize a semi-solid idea of the universe Haze created. I still feel like the story was rushed. I felt like I was jumping all over the place within the world and that all the shifting took away from the characters. I never really felt Maeve mature, and I definitely did not feel the bonds between her mates. I think the world holds promise, and I enjoyed the various breeds of Fae introduced. I think it just needs more depth and structure.
