An enemies-to-lovers story about heartache and desire.
Olivia
I’d been handed the contract of a lifetime, revamping the flagship Madison Avenue store of Fashion icon, Farrah Goldsmith Couture. There was only one person standing in my way. Her grandson, Ari. Now he was my boss and my arch enemy. I wanted him to get hit by a bus or run over by a pack of rhinos. But no, I wasn’t that lucky. For the next three weeks, I’m stuck with him and his sickly gorgeous body and mocha-colored eyes. Help.
Ari
She thinks I’m an arrogant jerk… I think she’s uptight and sassy. I didn’t like her before, but now I was her boss, I had the upper hand. So making her life a living hell was priority number one… until it wasn’t. I don’t understand why she ignites a fire inside of me, all I know is I’m addicted, hook line, and sinker. Now if only she’d let me in.
An enemies-to-lovers steamy boss romance with a HEA that will leave you swooning.
Trigger warning - Scenes of loss are part of this novel.
Although characters are interconnected within the series, this book can be read as a stand-alone.
Missy is an Australian author who writes kissing books with equal parts angst and steam. She loves writing stories about billionaires, enemies to lovers, and the boy next door- just to name a few.
When she’s not writing, she’s taking care of her two daughters and doting husband.
Inspired by the acreage she lives on, Missy regularly distracts herself by visiting her orchard… some days more often than writing!
Then there’s her overweight cat, Charlie, chickens, and bees if she needed another excuse to pass the time.
And, when the day ends, there’s nothing better than unwinding with a gin and tonic as the sunsets surrounded by the ones she loves.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ .5 Loved, would recommend to everyone, only a small issue 🌶️: start at 50% vanilla sex, around 3 described scenes, might have praise kink and maybe one butt play scene.
olivia secures a dream contract to revamp the flagship madison avenue store of farrah goldsmith couture, but her excitement is dampened by the fact that her new boss is ari, her arch-enemy and farrah's grandson. despite wishing he would disappear, olivia must endure three weeks working closely with the infuriatingly attractive ari. ari initially plans to make olivia's life difficult, viewing her as uptight and sassy, but soon finds himself inexplicably drawn to her. the fiery tension between them turns into an unexpected attraction, blending their professional and personal lives.
i had so much fun with this book and these two are easily my favorite couple of this series. the angst and steam, combined with the banter, were absolutely iconic. my poor baby boy ari was so misunderstood, but he was finally seen by olivia. liv was such a strong fmc, and i loved seeing a story of a girl who has worked so hard for success. these two definitely drove me crazy at times, but i did love them. i think the only thing that doesn't make it a 5-star read is that i just wanted a little bit more. i really loved the plot and drama of this one, and i'm so glad there are no toxic parents here.
This is the 4th book in the series and this story is about Aristotle and Olivia who are sworn antagonists ever since their paths crossed. They have mutual friends and are often brought together at gatherings because of that.
Olivia's newly formed company wins a contract with Ari's grandmother's couture house to decorate their new flagship store and Ari becomes her new boss. Being forced into working in close proximity with each other on a daily basis and with the undeniable attraction and chemistry hovering between them, their relationship begins to change and develop into something different. I really liked both characters immensely and enjoyed seeing another side to each of them, especially Ari who is portrayed as a complete playboy in the previous books.
The story is interconnected with the previous three books in this series but it is a standalone book, however I would recommend reading the books in order as it makes the characters and storyline more understandable.
The story has some steam and the author has delivered angst and humour together with an interesting glimpse into the lives of these young billionaires, which makes a very enjoyable read. I recommend this book and can only commend Ms Walker as she continues to get better and better, this book is a vast improvement on her first two books of this series. I rate this book 4.5*.
I was given an ARC copy and look forward to reading more of Ms Walker's work.
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS A SPOILER AT THE VERY END ....
Aristotle and Olivia ... what a very back and forth relationship. Hate, love, mad, swooning ... up, down, left, right, it kinda gave me whiplash in a goodish way. There is a lot of assuming [mostly on Olivia's part] and assuming the worst at that ... I get that she is a bit of a pessimist in her personal life. It was a good read. I have to say the *surprises* didn't surprise me at all. I predicted the losses Ari had and who the embezzler was. But I am a writer and I think like a writer ... but it still seemed really obvious.
SPOILER: I just wanted to throw out there that I predicted Lourde getting pregnant book one when I pointed out that it was not stated that Barrett used a condom twice when it was stated every other time. I didn't state it in my review of the first book, BUT I did point out the condom issue.
Also noticed that Lourde did say she was on birth control in book 2 .... but apparently something didn't work considering the short time span of the book .... I think? Maybe?
Regardless ... also noticed it's not *always* stated condoms were always used with the other couples but they had the "are you clean?" Let's do this without condoms moments so [shrugs]
This is the fourth book in the series about Elite men of Manhattan. They have it all and they do have the money. But the men in this series also needs to find what the meaning is with their lives.
This one is about Ari, a bachelor that seems to have it all and is surrounded by beautiful models and famous friends. That would be the perfect life but there is something missing.
When we first got to know Ari it was like he was the handsome man that was happy with life but in this book we do get a darker past from him and that is also a part of the story.
Olivia is working her way up in her new company and she has her formal boss and his fiancée to help her. Ari isn't her favorite person but when his grandmother asks for her help she decides to do what she can to help even if that means working with Ari.
This story is a slow burn with hate growing into something more and in a way I would've wanted to read more about one character that has been in all the books and that is Magnus but we can't get it all and I am happy to see that this series grew into something amazing and it has emotions and also a lot of story that is so beautiful to read.
Olivia and Ari’s story is amazing!!! I loved this book from the moment I opened it. I completed this book in a day, and I just couldn’t put it down.
Olivia and Ari bicker and argue, and loath each other. But really they love each other. With loving families and completely different pasts they come together amending each others hearts and making it known that “it’s okay to not be okay.”
With enemies to lovers and boss/employee romance this book has so many qualities and tropes that we all love. I loved this book. It hit all the right places. Making my heart hurt and burst at the same time. Having sad moments and happy moments where we get glimpses from the other characters.
Ari and Olivia were made for each other. Olivia saving Farah from falling at her fashion show was meant to be and that had an outcome of the love story of Ari and Olivia.
I rated this book 5/5 stars and I wouldn’t change it for anything. The elite men of Manhattan series is such an amazing series. I can’t get enough of all of the characters and they all have a special place in my heart.
This is book 4 in the series Ari and Olivia are introduced by their circle of friends. Who now regret doing so since all the two do is fight. She thinks he is a jerk and he is he thinks she is uptight. Olivia has left her job where she worked with Lourdes the boss Barrett was wonderful. Now she and Lourdes have started a design business. Lourdes is planning her wedding do when the job if s lifetime that could get their company recognized comes up Olivia has to handle it herself. Success at redoing Farrah Goldsmiths flagship store on Madison ave would open doors for them. Problem Ari who hadn’t been so set of his grandmothers business for ten years has come back. He is planning on making Olivia’s life hell since the three weeks she’ll be in this project he intends to make a living hell. He has demons from his past that made him try to bury them by going from one women to the next. Olivia really needs her company to succeed not just for herself but her family interesting book to see how everyone works around family and the job. I recommend the book
Missing Love by Missy Walker is book 4 in her Elite Men of Manhattan series. A manipulating grandmother plays a matchmaker between Ari and Olivia by bringing the bickering couple together by hiring Olivia to design the new fashion store that Ari is now in charge of running. The two have common friends and run in the same social circles but can’t agree on anything. Ari provokes Olivia with verbal barbs that sting, yet he can’t keep his eyes off her. Olivia feels an attraction but has more break-ups than true love. Both are carrying emotional baggage that hinders giving in to deeper feelings or indulging in more than the passion that blazes hot between the two. A steamy read with an emotional heaviness. Ari’s past dictates how he treats Olivia. Their trek to HEA is an emotional one with surprises popping up along the way. Missy Walker can write stories that blow her readers away with each book published.
Missing Love by Missy Walker is the fourth book in the Elite Manhattan Men series. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I would strongly encourage you to read the other books in the series first. The stories are interwoven and make more sense when you know the history of this group of friends.
I enjoyed Missing Love! Olivia and Aristotle have mutual friends, so they see each other often and end up working together with Ari as Olivia’s boss. As the story progresses, we see them grow and their relationship change. They bicker, a lot, and the undeniable sexual tension is strong between them. The result is an intense relationship that is steamy and full of angst that keeps you reading for more.
Many thanks to Missy Walker as I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I look forward to reading more of her work.
Missing love is book 4 in Elite Men of Manhatten series and would have to be my favorite Missy walker book to date . Ari and Olivia's story is an enemies to lovers romance. Their banter had me laughing out loud but their stories pulled at my heart strings. Ari is misunderstood and has built a wall around himself after experiencing an unimaginable heartbreak. Olivia is tough as nails and has become that way after her family goes through some hardships. Together they are fire and ice but are made for each other. I love that the couple from the previous books made an appearance. It's addictive, sexy, emotional must read romance. You don't need to read the series in order but I recommend it to get the full story of all the couples.
Really enjoyed this one. Missy has found her groove and hits it out of the park. Both Olivia and Ari were fantastic characters. Olivia strong, sassy, sarcastic, hard working and accomplished but also hiding insecurities that she covers up with bluster. When we first met Ari, he was the kind friend who noticed when something was wrong with one of the Hunkholes and gave sage advice. Now he's taciturn and difficult. Throughout the book you are privy to why he's this way and see the relationship between Ari and Olivia help him grow and heal. It was wonderful catching up with the rest of the Hunkholes and their partners, and the new characters added well to the story. 5 stars
I felt as if the book ended too quickly, the timeline was quite quick and I would have loved to read more about the relationship between Ari en Olivia. It now seemed as if it just ended too quickly without anything in between hating and dating each other. I loved both characters in the previous books in the series and it felt as if the story was written and finished too quickly. Ari is such a mysterious character and I would have appreciated to discover more about him. Apart from that it was a good read just as the first 3 books.
I just finished reading "Missing Love," the fourth book in the Elite Men of Manhattan series. The story follows Ari and Olivia in an enemy-to-lovers plot as they end up working together, leading to unexpected developments.
I really enjoyed the book. We already had some insight into Ari's character from previous books, but this time, we see a different side of him, with inner struggles and demons. Olivia remains my favorite female character, staying true to her hardworking and talented nature despite facing challenges in love.
Overall, "Missing Love" is a quick and enjoyable read with some steamy moments, although I found it slightly less compelling than the earlier books in the series.
You have to love the banter between these two! That school kid picking that they do with each other just to make one mad. They are adults, but the actions don't say so. The difference between being raised with money and being dirt poor was a lot of the drive behind Olivia. Ari didn't know that about her for a good while. Of course in the end they come together. There are places that made me laugh out loud!
Ari and Olivia have a love hate thing going on and oh boy do they love to hate each other that the start of this book. As time goes on you find out Ari is not the womaniser Olivia thinks he is and Olivia is not the Ice Queen Ari thinks she is. As their worlds collide and the truth comes out they change that love hate to love. Definitely a very good read.
You know when you’re reading a series and thinking, this may get boring by the 4th and all may be much of a muchness and should come back to it at a later date? Well this book was NOT that! These books are a completely different story on their own yet are familiar with all the characters! I am absolutely obsessed with Ari and Olivia, along with Barrett and Connor, they’re all so different but so damn hot 🔥 Absolutely loved it!
I’d rate these a 5 but she desperately needs an editor. She gets her idioms mixed up, makes references that dont make sense, and skips words to complete the phrases. This happens in all her books in this series so far. Was hoping it would get better. Storylines are cute. Characters are ok even if she can only describe their hair color. The main female in this book has blonde hair. And if you forget you’ll be reminded every other paragraph.
My favorite of the series. At times their bickering was over the top, but they were cute. I feel like they got together as a couple quickly then lasted 5 minutes before issues arise. I liked Olivia a lot, she was strong and independent. Ari’s arrogance was a bit over the top at time. The grandmama kinda annoyed me. They were cute and had a lot of chemistry. I enjoyed the slow burn.
Ok I love reading about the Hunkholes. I was completely blown away by Ari’s story. Loved the writing and I was in tears. I’m so happy he found his happy ending but I found Olivia infuriating and she’s just a bit too hard for me. Loved the friendships and all the characters but I didn’t enjoy reading about her as much. Can’t wait to read about Magnus next.
Oh my heart. This book tugs at the string of your heart from beginning to end. At times my stomach had a pit feeing and then the next it fluttered with butterflies. Ari & Olivia love story was up & down and all around.
I wish there was more to the ending, but the actual pages leading up I couldn’t stop turning them. You’ll be immediately dragged in, trust me!
Ari’s story was much more emotional and sad than I was expecting it to be. I really enjoy this group of friends and the way their loves are unfolding. I would have liked a little more emotion between Olivia and Ari. I didn’t get the feeling that they actually liked each other at any point, but the overall story was good.
The cringe is strong in this one. So many tropes that it felt convoluted. At no point in this story did I see anything that at all resembled them getting to know each other, so I fail to understand how we get to love. Sexual chemistry, sure, but definitely not romantic. Ari and Olivia would absolutely not last beyond the final page. As the title suggests, this romance novel is missing the love.
This book follows the story of Ari and Olivia. Ari is the Manhattan millionaire, and Olivia was an assistant to Barnett. Olivia came from nothing has been worked her way up to being a highly sought after interior decorator. Ari’s grandmother hires her to restyle their store in Manhattan. This is an enemies to lovers story and probably my favorite so far of this series.
After a 10-year absence from the business world, rich, handsome Ari has decided to return to working with his grandmother who is a world-famous couture designer. His grandmother hires Olivia to remodel thr flagship store in NYC. Ari and Olivia are like fire and water, but a developing respect for each other can make for interesting changes.
I loved this series! This last book in the series had a slow start and it took me longer than usual to read it. The first few chapters weren’t as captivating as the rest of the books in the series. But overall a good story and good read.
I loved the book and couldn’t put it down. However, the ending was so abrupt. Would it have killed the author to write one or two more chapters!?! This book didn’t even have an Epilogue unlike the other 3 books in the series.
When opposites attract!!! The relationship between them is literally comical, I laughed, almost cried, o many emotions, but the whole way through I was rooting for them. Fireworks :-) great book, great story, just love all of Missys books!!
This series only gets better with each book. The more I read, the more I think the next story couldn’t be more exciting but to my surprise it does. This series is great! Highly recommend!
I love the relationship between these 2! They way they were themselves and were able to open up with each other was heartfelt. I wish their ending was a little more... but still loved the book! Would recommend.
