**Audio Review**
Reading The Natural History Novellas by the talented Erin Mallon was a super good time, however listening, brought them to a whole new laugh-out-loud level, and I honestly couldn’t get enough! I loved Callie, Ralph, Mabel, Wally, Louise, and James so much, I wrote a separate review for each of their novellas! Thank you, Erin, for these fantastic stories!
“Flirtin”
Who’s ready for a bone-iversary in Vegas?! Flirtin' was a hilarious, squeeze-your-heart romance that had me laughing, smiling, and happy sighing from start to finish. Two years later, Calliope and Ralph-alpha’s relationship is stronger than ever. Callie is nervous and excited about attending a book signing in Vegas, and Ralph joins her for this momentous occasion. However, things get kind of crazy once fan girls realize, Ralph is Rock Cosmos, the rock star narrator who narrates all of Tracy Triassic’s dino love stories.
Erin and Jason Clarke narrate Callie and Ralph’s novella! I loved Erin’s portrayal of Callie’s fire for her work and her ambitious personality (Hello mile high club), but also her insecurities and doubts she has that so many of us can relate to. Oh, Ralph-alpha…I adored getting his POV in this novella and WOW did Jason deliver! In his performance, you could feel Ralph’s love and dedication for Callie but also get a glimpse of his vulnerable, nerdy self! This made me love him even more. However, when Jason unleashed Ralph’s confident, over-the-top, romance narrator persona, Rock Cosmos, prepare to laugh and swoon at the same time! (Look out for that growl, ladies!)
Overall, I LOVED this story. If you are a fan of a romcom novella with a best-selling dino porn author, a hot nerdy newfound romance narrator, mile-high club mishaps, Rain Man references, book signing chaos, Rich Bitch Power Hours, steamy tub time, and a HEA that was written in the stars, then you will fall even more in love with Ralph and Callie!
“Buggin”
Walla Walla Bing Bang indeed! Buggin' was another laugh-out-loud romp of a good time! This novella catches up with Wally and Mabel two years down the road, and the sweet, sticky love these two share for each other is neverending. Their Bee’s Elbow honey business is thriving, along with their very own Youtube Channel where Mabel has become the face of the brand. She even has her own fans, which leads them to take a trip to the Netherlands for the National Redhead Day Festival!
Erin and Joe Arden narrate Mabel and Wally’s novella. Erin truly gives it her all delivering Mabey Baby’s bubbly, upbeat, and free-spirited personality. I love how Erin showcases Mabel’s love and adoration for Wally and is not afraid to let her freak flag fly! Plus, that improv song! (Pollinate me!) Getting inside Wally’s head in this novella was quite entertaining, and YES, Joe sure made him even more burly and loveable! Joe’s hilarious and heartfelt portrayal of Wally’s intentions, protective side, and of course his unconditional love for Mabel was spot on! (weird quirks and all!) Erin and Joe both shine in the way they present the unique one-of-a-kind connection these two have no matter what crazy curve ball is thrown their way. (Hello proposal!)
Overall I LOVED this story. If you are a fan of a romcom novella with a hot scruffy wall of a man, an outgoing spontaneous entomologist, a trip to the Netherlands, a redhead festival, matching outfits, hanging out at the Bar, improvisational family singing groups, more Rich Bitch Power Hours, a Poison Puppetmaster proposal, and a HEA that leads to one buggin' good time, then you will fall a little bit harder for Wally and Mabel!

Oh, baby! Baitin’ was a light-hearted, hilarious romcom novella that gets us all caught up with James and Louise! Louise is very pregnant! Hoping to keep her mind off the pregnancy, she invites Mabel and Wally to wed at their home in Hawaii. Her pregnancy hormones are all over the place, but she finds her peace with the help of James and her entreprewhores.
Erin and Teddy Hamilton narrate Louise and James’ novella. Erin’s portrayal of Louise’s anxious and stressed persona in this novella is something a lot of women can relate to while pregnant. I adored how Erin’s performance of Louise showed she finally let herself find support and comfort in others and turns into one amazing new momma! Teddy brought his swoon and charm proving James’ love for Louise had not faltered. I enjoyed that he wanted to take care of her and pamper her in any way he could. Erin and Teddy's performances, alike, demonstrated that James and Louise could get through anything including unique BroSpa and bugorlette parties and hosting a wedding on the beach with an unexpected but welcome surprise!
Overall, I LOVED this story. If you are a fan of a romcom novella with a dedicated husband/ priest, a very pregnant hormonal heroine, a Hawaiian wedding, BroSpa, floating with your besties, family time, hilarious outbursts, catching up with Meilani, Friends references, and a HEA that squeezes your heart in all the best ways and proves their love for their friends and family runs deep, then you will love James and Louise’s new addition!
I've loved this Natural History series so much, and I always look forward to more from Erin Mallon!

There are many authors I like/love but there are few authors I call favourites. Erin is a favourite of mine.
Each time I go to listen to a book she has written I am blown away with how goooood she is. I am always entertained or it is thought provoking, usually I am left with sore cheeks from laughing.
Today I felt like I spent the day with friends. I laughed myself silly with The Natural History Novellas by Erin Mallon. We get a glimpse into “wWhere are they now?”
I found some of the situations the couples get themselves into are over the top, but also it's usually born from truth that is why it is so funny.
Obviously we know we are going to get a story of each of the couples from each of their books, but with all of the couples being friends we get some of them in each story too so it feels like we are never without them.
I can’t say too much about the books without giving spoilers other than to say listen. 🎧 If you picked up any of the original Natural History books you won’t regret buying this one either.

The narration, I can’t not speak about it because my word it was wonderful. These 4 narrators are phenomenal in this book. They really do give these characters that little bit of special to bring them off the page. Loved 🥰.

(audiobook) When you combine a witty writing style, unique characters, hilarious and/or emotional situations, and a perfect cast, you get a few hours of bliss.
The author finally offers us Ralph’s and Wally’s point of view–we got James’s in the previous book–and their respect and love for their girls is incredible. As the female characters in those books are very special and quirky, they tend to monopolize the reader’s mind, pushing the male characters to the side, literally as a side character. To give them a voice is to make them the heroes of their own story. And by being in their head, we experience their insecurities and fears and hopes. It was great.
If you only learn one thing from those stories, it’s to support your significant other in everything, by staying by their side. Not taking over. It’s the common theme, and the author illustrates it beautifully.
It was also fun to travel a bit with the characters. The setting was always meaningful, chosen perfectly for each novella. Brilliant.
Finally, the author gives closure to her characters. While being all happy endings, the previous books let some things unfinished or uncertain. Not anymore. Those novellas are kind of bonus epilogues where everything is tied in.
As for the narration, it was amazing. Each narrator has been chosen perfectly for their character, and they all managed the pace and the comic timing very well, making this audiobook a great conclusion to the series.

I freaking love Erin Mallon and her writing. She’s so incredibly talented.
I listened to an ALC and it just like I spent the day with a group of friends. I was laughing and smiling and just generally having the best time.
Every since second of these novellas is absolute perfection.
From Dino noises, the mile high club, an improv band, weddings, travel, and babies. Erin’s talent is unparalleled. I already can’t wait to re listen!
Overall I absolutely loved each of these stories. Yes they’re novellas but each story felt and complete and I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything.

You know that audiobook that hits the spot and leaves a smile on your face? This is it! You all know I'm a sucker for epilogues and revisiting the "sister friends" and their beaus was a hoot!
In Flirtin', we see Calliope and Ralpha-alpha heading to Vegas for a two year bone-iversary while they attend a book signing. Calliope is now a full-fledged and full-time Dino romance novelist (strange words...)! And in true romance book signing event fashion, "Rock Cosmos", Ralph's narrator alter ego, realizes he has a legion of fans (to Calliope's somewhat dismay...).
In Buggin', Wally and Mabel have a thriving business with Bee's Elbow and their love is sweeter than their honey. When Mabel's YouTube channel brings her a new friend, things get even more interesting because it leads to them heading to the Netherlands and the National Redhead Day Festival (you read it right!).
In Baitin' , James and Louise are living happily in Hawaii and Cold Brew is about to pop. They are also going to host Wally and Mabel's wedding, with all the quirkiness that it entails. They are all more than happy to reunite for this joyful event. James is his swoony self as the protective father-to-be and it's adorable! BroSpa bachelor party a a buglorette one? Yes, we have them! We also have a special surprise that shows up at the beach wedding!
I loved everything about this book but the audiobook is a gem!
I don't easily LOL but Jason Clarke had me cackling with his very dedicated performance of... Dino p0rn! LOL (How would we categorize these romances: historical fiction?!) It's a freaking snort-your-drink-through-your-nose kinda funny!
We all know people ooh and aah with Joe Arden, but to me he really shines when you let him be a goofball. And he delivers!
James is the only one we are revisiting as we had his POV in Sharkbait , but he's swoonier than ever in this one in the hands of Teddy Hamilton.
And through it all we have the queen!! Erin Mallon not only wrote all these lovely stories but gives life to all the sister friends! What a treat! All the stars!

They are such a beautiful group of characters and friends!
One thing you can count on from Erin Mallon as a writer is her stories and jokes will always come full circle. In the best way! This collection of novellas, continuing from the original novels in The Natural History series, accomplishes that feat magnificently. If you fell in love with the couples in the novels, this is the perfect place to pick up. If you are new to this world, she does a wonderful job of catching you up. The stories feel as if you are starting in the middle of real life with three different couples, in three different places in that life. The individual novellas are so good on their own, but also intertwine in a way that fuels this romance reader’s soul.
Through the comedy, you can always count on Erin Mallon to give you some good life lessons and have the characters work though things that could easily be applied to your life. I love that about her work, the balance of comedy, growth, and heart happy moments. It was so wonderful to hang out with Calliope & Ralph, Mabel & Wally, and Louise & James. They are such a beautiful group of characters and friends!
There is some thing particularly fabulous about hearing these audio men narrate comedy. Jason Clarke, Joe Arden, and Teddy Hamilton have made me fall in love more times than I can count, but I seriously cannot get enough of them in the funny bits. The parts that make them less swoony. I live for that, and Erin delivers with her writing. Speaking of Erin, I love hearing her narrate her own words, there is just something extra in the delivery. She delivers an unspoken extra in her cadence. This audio is fantastic!

Sometimes you pick up a novella and think “oh this will be cute.” Well after wiping away tears from laughing CONTINUOUSLY thru the first story, laughing again at the antics in story #2, and smiling until my cheeks hurt while reading story #3, I can safely say that 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙉𝘼𝙏𝙐𝙍𝘼𝙇 𝙃𝙄𝙎𝙏𝙊𝙍𝙔 𝙉𝙊𝙑𝙀𝙇𝙇𝘼�� are much more than “cute.” These stories are laugh out loud fun! They touch your heart and are full of sweetness. Three completely different couples. Each character unique. Friends and more. All brilliantly written.
I was surprised to discover that you don’t have to read the 3 full length novels where these characters originate to enjoy these 3 short stories. HOWEVER you really, really, REALLY should read them to see how these couples got together, how they got to where they are in these short stories and experience all that fun!
First, we have Calliope and Ralph in Vegas at a book convention where they discover Ralph’s sudden fame as sexy narrator of Calliope’s “Dino Porn” best selling books. That’s right. She writes romance novels centering on dinosaurs having sex.
Then we have Mabel and Wally, traveling to the Netherlands for a Red headed/Ginger parade celebration where Mabel discovers more family secrets. Mabel’s reaction will have you crying laughing at times….and yea, she’s probably my favorite character in this series…..
Finally, we have Ralph’s sister Louise and her guy James, Wally’s best friend, now living in Hawaii with Louise very pregnant and acting none too pleasant these last few months. I was surprised to discover that you don’t have to read the 3 full length novels where these characters originate to enjoy these 3 short stories. HOWEVER you really, really, REALLY should read them to see how these couples got together, how they got to where they are in these short stories and experience all that fun!
First, we have Calliope and Ralph in Vegas at a book convention where they discover Ralph’s sudden fame as sexy narrator of Calliope’s “Dino Porn” best selling books. That’s right. She writes romance novels centering on dinosaurs having sex.
Then we have Mabel and Wally, traveling to the Netherlands for a Red headed/Ginger parade celebration where Mabel discovers more family secrets. Mabel’s reaction will have you crying laughing at times….and yea, she’s probably my favorite character in this series…..
Finally, we have Ralph’s sister Louise and her guy James, Wally’s best friend, now living in Hawaii with Louise very pregnant and acting none too pleasant these last few months. Everyone gathers at their home for a wedding and well. . . this one is the most touching story. Humor sure. But it’s more than that.

It gave me Goose Pumps listening to the four of you narrating - my favourite voices in audio!
Holy, cannoli - getting the updates on Callie, Mabey Baby and Mama Lou, plus all their fantastic men… it blew my mind! Being able to listen and read along together, was absolutely perfect. I adored all of these characters in their original books, but to get their story updates a few years later? Chefs kiss - thank you so much for giving us this extra taste of your incredible words, worlds and pieces of your soul, Erin. ❤️
I loved the excellent Vegas book signing with Calliope and Ralph, where she’s embraced writing her Dino romance full-time, and he’s her narrator… and the crowds are going crazy for them!
Mabel and Wally heading to Amsterdam for a red head festival (and sell honey), and happening to meet a guy she’s been messaging online, in her innocence, getting a whole lot more than she imagined. Singing on-stage with him and his family, and even getting Ralph to bring out his death-metal singing once again to ask a question he’d been trying to, for days…
And finally, everyone heading to Hawaii to visit Louise and James, for the big wedding that Louise has agreed to host and help plan - all while extremely pregnant and freaking out.
Re-visiting all of the characters, especially with them all back together at the very end - such a great time, and I really hope Erin will find a way to bring them home to us again someday!!

I absolutely loved this 'where are they now?' collection of novellas that catches us up on the quirky couples we fell hard for in Mallon's Natural History series! These couples had me laughing out loud, wanting to cover my eyes with some over the top antics, that again had me howling with laughter, and had me sighing and swooning for these close friends and lovers. What I loved most about each story, in between the laughter, and awkward moments, was at it's core, each story was a heartfelt and honest look at life and love and the challenges we face and overcome with the help of loving partners and friends. Each couple had their own ups and downs, and they faced them in their own unique, quirky, hilarious way, bringing them closer and making them stronger, together. I absolutely loved the friendship between the three women throughout each story. They were each others best cheer leaders, always being unconditionally supportive, and honest. The blurb sums up each story best, so I will just mention a couple of my favorite things from each story, but really they are all so much more!

Erin is so creative and writes the most unique books with amazing and quirky characters. The original books were amazing and these novellas are freakin fantastic!
Full disclosure - you will laugh out loud, maybe snort and be thoroughly entertained…be aware of your surroundings! Lol. Although these are novellas - each story packs a punch. They are each filled with doubts, emotions, humor and beautiful love. All the characters cross between the stories…their adventures and life realizations are fantastic. Great catching up with everyone.
The audiobook is amazing. Erin, Teddy, Joe and Jason’s performances were fantastic. They fascinate me with their voices, emotions and personalizes they give to each character. They are so incredibly talented and add so much to the stories.
My favorite, laugh out loud scenes- the airplane, the book reading, singing sequence and the volcano scene.

I love all of these characters so much and was laughing throughout this whole novella.
Mabel is seriously the funniest bug lovin women out there. Her improv song was so perfectly Mabel and laugh out loud funny. Mabel & Wally will always be an interesting couple but they are perfect for each other!
Calliope & Ralph… I mean Tracy Triassic & Rock Cosmos are so funny. Rocks live reading of the volcano Dino chapter was historic. Literally and figuratively.
Louise & James are always my favorite. I love how caring and loving James is, how Louise started to fix her relationship with her mom, and their family starts in such a perfect way for them.
These characters are so much fun to read about and very light hearted.

Flirtin'
Flirtin’ is the where are they and what are they doing now story of the fabulous Ralph and Calliope who we met and fell in love with in Flirtasaurus.
Two years later and Callie is writing more dino porn under her pen name Tracy Triassic and Ralph is narrating her books under the pseudonym Rock Cosmos.
They are heading to Sin City for a book signing event and to celebrate their bone-iversary, only Callie is looking to start the celebration early by joining the mile high. However, in true Callie and Ralph fashion this does not go smoothly. A small bathroom, turbulence and vomiting has their induction into the exclusive club far from smooth.
The calamities continue for Ralph and Callie. From a boujee hotel room complete with a heart shaped revolving bed, twinkling lights and a mirrored ceiling, to Ralph letting his new found fame get6 the better of him, to Callie being nervous and scared, to rich bitch power hours and Rain Man references, hot and steamy times in the bathtub and a HEA that is written in the stars, this where are they now glimpse into Callie and Ralph is absolute perfection.
Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon bring Ralph and Calliope to life in the most magnificent was. Jason’s portrayal of the astronomy loving, Rain Man obsessed, sweet and sexy geek Ralph is incredible. Jason had me belly laughing at his reading of the dino porn in front of his captive audience. Erin reprises her role as Callie and my goodness, I loved Erin in Flirtasaurus, but she truly excels herself and exceeded my expectations in this. Jason and Erin are the perfect pairing for this quirky, geeky couple.
If like me, you loved Flirtasaurus you will go bananas over Flirtin’ and will love the little glimpses into the other couples in the friendship group.
Erin, when I grow up, I want to be you lady! You smashed it girl!
Buggin'
Buggin’ is the where are they and what are they up to now story of the super fun and quirky Wally and Mabel who we met and fell over heels in love with in Lovebug.
Two years on and Wally and Mabel are living on a tree farm that Wally built. Mabel is teaching kids entomology at the museum and arboretum a few mornings a week, she also works on the farm. She has 12 hives and 500,000 bees and makes The Bees Elbow honey, honey infused soap, candles, and body butter, but her bestseller is her raw edible honeycomb. Mabel and Ralph have also started a YouTube channel which is doing great and covers a range of topics from bee keeping to redhead trivia and tips for keeping a nudist home.
Mabel (May-be-baby) and Wally (Walla ball bing bang) head to the Netherlands for a redhead parade where poor Wally has a wardrobe malfunction which gives us the line of the book “Are you telling me I just paraded through a foreign city while publicly dangling my dong?”
Mabel meets one of her online “fans” Declan during her Netherlands trip and he has one hell of a revelation for her which leads to her performing in a redheaded family improvisational band and Wally joining in to ask a very important question is quite possibly the highlight of the entire book!
Joe Arden and Erin Mallon lend their voices to Wally and Mabel and the result is pure magic! Joe’s performance as nerdy Wally is simply magnificent. His awkward stilted tone was pure perfection and the thrash metal singing, oh my god, I had tears streaming down my face laughing! Erin reprising her role as bug loving, super quirky Mabel is fantastic. I didn’t think it would be possible to top Lovebug Mabel then Erin brought out the big guns with the singing which was amazing. I will never tire of listening to Joe and Erin, they are a powerhouse duo!
If you loved the beginning of Wally and Mabel’s story in Lovebug then you’ll love this check into their lives now. Mabel announcing she’d let her personal freak flag fly and the support group she named entreprewhores are just a couple of the laugh out loud moments from this phenomenal novella. Erin you killed it girl!

Baitin’ is the where are they and what are they up to now story of the amazing James and Louise who we met and fell in love with in Sharkbait.
Two years later and James and Louise are living in Hawaii and life is good. James has been running a water excursion company-Highs and Lows while Louise has been running painting workshops on the beach 5 mornings a week and they are set to become parents with Louise being 37 weeks pregnant. Only Louise has been struggling, that hasn’t stopped her offering up her home and to help organise Wally and Mabels wedding all while being heavily pregnant and being a Mum to James’ daughter Iris.
The hits just keep coming for James and Lousie in this novella, as James tries to keep her calm and happy while organising a BroSpa bachelor party and lightening the wedding planning load for Louise while she navigates pregnancy, wedding planning and then a slew of uninvited and unannounced guests show up before she is whisked off on the buglorette bachelorette party which is a salt flotation tank all about getting Louise to relax. And to cap it all off, after all her stressing, Louise has a rather unexpected and surprising zen birth , on the beach!
Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon reprise their roles as the playful, easy-going James and the fiercely loyal, loving and somewhat neurotic Louise. Teddy’s portrayal of James was fabulous. He brought all the swoony charm proving that James’ love for Louise is strong. Teddy’s voice truly is made for rom com. Erin’s performance of stressed, anxious mamma to be Louise is pure perfection. Erin managed to get across to us listeners the importance and significance of Louise finding and accepting comfort and support in those around her. Another fantastic narrating duo who I love together.

Erin Mallon has graced us with three sequel novellas to her Natural History series and I could not be more elated with how these stories have continued! Calliope, Mabel, and Louise are three hysterical, relatable, and lovably nerdy bad b heroines. Their hot cinnamon roll counterparts are charming, supportive, adorkable, and swoon-worthy. They say nice guys finish last, but not when Erin Mallon dreams them up! Well, they may finish second, but that’s because they know how to treat their women. My face is sore from smiling so hard throughout this audio collection. I may have had more than one coffee spittake during this listen! Since two of the Natural History novels were single POV, I was thrilled to hear Ralph and Wally’s POVs in the novellas. Flirtin’, Buggin’, and Baitin’ are fantastic romcom gems! If you have not read The Natural History series Novels, I highly recommend diving into the audiobooks.

We catch up with Ralph and Calliope two years into their happily ever after, and they are as quirky, sweet, and loving as ever. When the palpable chemistry between Calliope & Ralph ramps up, mile-high hijinks ensue. These two are a powerhouse team; like any couple they have seen ups, downs, and a few career changes. Calliope’s dino romance series has taken off and with it, Ralph has made a name for himself in the audiobook industry. When you think cinnamon roll with a [bit of an] edge and a low, growly timbre capable of making dino banging hot, Jason Clarke is the man for the job! Erin cast this story perfectly when she chose Jason to portray the affable, charismatic, romantic AF Ralph. Jason and Erin are a perfectly suited narration duo; their storytelling styles, pacing, and comedic timing seem effortless and keep the story flowing beautifully. This story made me snort-laugh each time I’ve listened.
Buggin’
Okay, Mabel Unleashed was one of my favorite things in Sharkbait, but Mabel Unleashed Does the Netherlands, is magnificent. Mabel hits the stage and it is epic! Erin’s creative bravery never ceases to amaze me; she pushes boundaries with her writing and gives herself the freedom to follow her instinct in this narration. I, for one, think the outcome is outstanding! Buggin’ is authentic, emotional, zany as hell, and a true delight. Wally and Mabel prove there really is a lid for every pot. Wally was a closed-off, shy horticulturist when we met him in Lovebug. Since benign with Mabel, he has come out of his shell. Wally is a charming, handsome, sweet entrepreneur unlike any character Joe Arden has previously narrated. Listening to Wally’s POV and Joe clearly having a blast bringing the character to life was a lovely and side-splitting aural experience. Joe and Erin have a dynamic chemistry in the booth on any project they narrate. But to hear them bring Erin’s story and characters off the page was a uniquely joyous pleasure.
Baitin’
James and Louise’s love story started with a bang. Now on the verge of motherhood, Cold Brew’s introspection is at an all-time high. Louise and James have a rock-solid relationship and they are happy in their professional partnership. Louise has found a way to blend her love of marine biology and painting. As any new mother is prone to do, Louise is feeling a bit uneasy about the impending, life-changing adventure. Leave it to her besties to have her back and support her through the journey. I loved the way Erin brought Iris’ mom, Eva into the story more. The healthy and positive co-parenting between James, Eva, and Louise is inspiring. Louise’s revelations made me cry. Louise has always been an independent spitfire; the way James lends her his strength without stepping on her feminine power is perfect. Teddy Hamilton reprises his role as James, and his portrayal of the once-reclusive, hunky, endearing hero is wonderful. Teddy’s performance as James is lovably natural, flawless, and genuine. Erin and Teddy are so naturally compatible that their performances just flow. These two make me smile any time they are paired together; their lighthearted styles, pacing, and warmth are beguiling. James and Louise melted my heart. Baitin’ was the perfect conclusion to this phenomenal series.
Erin Mallon has graced us with three sequel novellas to her Natural History series and I could not be more elated with how these stories have continued! Calliope, Mabel, and Louise are three hysterical, relatable, and lovably nerdy bad b heroines. Their hot cinnamon roll counterparts are charming, supportive, adorkable, and swoon-worthy. They say nice guys finish last, but not when Erin Mallon dreams them up! Well, they may finish second, but that’s because they know how to treat their women. My face is sore from smiling so hard throughout this audio collection. I may have had more than one coffee spittake during this listen! Now, they are no longer working together at the science center anymore considering their career/lovelife paths went to different places but it is safe to say their long-distance friendship with one another didn’t stand their way going to the same spot: unfailing trust & support for one another. These novellas were all about, of course, the journey of true love & sisterhood!!!!
Firtin’ Book 1: Erin Mallon & Jason Clark narrated for Calliope and Ralph. Calliope is a full-time dino romance author and her astronomer boyfriend, Ralph, became the narrator of her books. Now, I love how Erin manages to write a little experience in this story, such as going to Las Vegas book signing & book romance reading events. As a fan, I had a little experience how we would woo, clap, and hollow when a narrator performed in the room. Perhaps, it was a bit of an exaggeration of how the book event can be, but as a fictional story, it truly works perfectly. The story & audio gave a lot of laughs, fun, and most importantly, challenges they have to overcome when alter ego comes to play. The audio performance is a simple reminder of how captivating and spectacular Erin & Jason does things together!
Buggin’ Book 2: Erin Mallon & Joe Arden narrated for Mabel & Wally. Mabel loves bugs but one bug, in particular, gave her a business of sweetness. Her “Bee” making honey business is thriving and decided to travel to sell some honey jars in the Netherlands & nevertheless, on the National Redhead Day Festival. Wally comes along, of course, but don’t get me wrong, trouble is in the air when they arrive…Let’s just say, a mysterious man takes them for a spin of a lifetime!!! Oh, yes, a band and singing involved with these 2 and holy cow, Erin & Joe gave that wow factor! They did such a great job storytelling & man, what a beautiful harmony & beats of voices!
Baitin’ Book 3: Erin Mallon & Teddy Hamilton narrated for Louise & James. Louise and James were honored to host their besties, Mabel & Wally’s wedding. Even if Louise is pretty dare close to having her baby, no one will stop them to provide the best beach wedding as well as bachelor/bachelorette parties in Hawaii. This is where the fun begins with unexpected guests and better yet, how they manage to keep it a uniquely outrageous & funny special reunion. Erin & Teddy provide not only heart melting moments but pieces of their souls on these pages!
The novellas are quite remarkable especially when you already read the other 3 books. I truly had the “full” effect of how hilarious, fun-loving, and smashing the couples truly are!!! Yes, this is the 4th book…and yes, you want to re-listen to it because it’s that good. So, if you are #fangirling for Erin Mallon or just want a barrel of chuckles, giggles, and silly shenanigans kind of book, this is for you!

This book had me in hysterics and gave me all the feels! It is a little spicy, so much fun, quirky, romantic, and hilarious. Erin Mallon adds three more delicious stories to her fantastic writing library and shows once again how talented she is as a narrator.

Ralph and Calliope's Mile High club scene was so damn funny and hot at the same time. I just love though how supportive he is of her. Even though his fans are swooning over him as "Rock Cosmos" in Vegas, he is 100% there for her. Erin's description of a book signing event is so crazy accurate I was laughing so much!
“Take it off!” a woman wearing a unicorn horn shouts from over thirty feet away. She whips her own bra off and slingshots it across the space. It soars through the air like a mint-green meteor. I catch it with my teeth. At that moment, an aspect of my personality that had been dormant inside me ignites. And I lose my damn mind.

Mabel brings out her crazy quirky personality and convinces Wally to go to the Netherlands to participate in the Red Head festival. He loves Mabel so much that he would do just about anything for her. Amazingly while they are there Mabel's life takes a a huge turn and finds out that she has a family that she did not know about!
“Mabey Baby,” I say calmly. “You told me they weren’t see-through.” “They weren’t! Not when you asked me back at the flat, that is. But once we hit the sun?” She sighs. “Yeah, then everyone could see everything.” “Are you telling me I just paraded through a foreign city while publicly dangling my dong?”

Every single story is laugh out loud funny and pulls at your heart strings while also sprinkling some spice throughout. Erin has such a unique way of telling her characters stories...she thinks outside the box and I absolutely love it!

Callie is headed to a book convention and is bringing Ralph for moral support...it also just so happens Ralph narrated a bunch of her books and they both aren't prepared for the response the audiobooks have received. If you are listening to the audio Callie is played by Erin and Ralph is played by Jason Clarke. Bless Erin's heart for getting Jason to perform Chapter 2....I hyperventilated from laughing so hard. It also touched on the insecurities people face...and the imposter syndrome that can overwhelm us.
Buggin'
Mabel and Wally are on vacation and marching in the Red head parade....who knew that was a thing? There so many moments where I just want to be Mabel...she is so unapologetically herself and has a partner who truly gets her and believes her in passion. If you are listening to the audio -Erin plays Mabel....I am forever changed by Mabel's song, Pollination has a whole new meaning. Joe Arden plays Wally and he delivers a stellar performance.
Baitin'
I really connected with Louise on her journey to motherhood and to the uncertainty that comes with bringing a tiny human into the world with your partner. James was such a rock for Louise, it was beautiful to watch them navigate how they could be there for each other. I laughed and cried with this one. In the audio Erin plays Louise and Teddy Hamilton plays James. Teddy did such a seamless job of bringing James to life.
And if you haven't counted...Erin performed three characters + the voices for the MMCS in her chapters + support characters! It's amazing to listen to the different stories back to back and how she can make such subtle changes to her voice and it takes on a completely different vibe for each character.

THIS IS A MUST LISTEN ROM COM & SO MUCH MORE!!!
What an awesome ending to a great series. I'm going to miss these characters so much. I loved Flirtasaurus, Lovebug & Sharkbait but I really loved getting this "Where are they now?" book! It felt like spending time with old friends.
These novellas all kept perfectly in line with each couple and all their craziness and I laughed from beginning to end. I love how Erin makes us laugh at some serious subjects and how she always weaves a little reality in her books. It almost feels like she adds a little secret code into her books and you can decode it if you know the inside jokes or the facebook book world. I see you Erin 👀
One of the best parts about this series for me is that I never laugh at books and she makes me laugh throughout this entire series and there is something different about Calliope, Mabel & Louise that I can absolutely relate to. They all have insecurities but they surround themselves with people who help give them confidence. I also love their friendship. One of the best lines in the book is
"Don’t let anyone tell you that internet book friends aren’t real friends. They’re the best friends!” and that is so true!!!
I would love to go into all my favorite parts of this book but they would all be spoilers and you just need to listen to this book so you can hear Erin, Jason, Joe & Teddy flawlessly perform this hilarious book! Each of them were awesome with the humor which I don't think is always easy as a narrator.

What an awesome ending to a great series. I'm going to miss these characters so much. I loved Flirtasaurus, Lovebug & Sharkbait but I really loved getting this "Where are they now?" book! It felt like spending time with old friends.
These novellas all kept perfectly in line with each couple and all their craziness and I laughed from beginning to end. I love how Erin makes us laugh at some serious subjects and how she always weaves a little reality in her books. It almost feels like she adds a little secret code into her books and you can decode it if you know the inside jokes or the facebook book world. I see you Erin 👀

Contains 3 short novellas that wrap up the Natural History series with a trio of "where are they now" glimpses at life after Shark Bait (book 3). It is the perfect combination of celebration and closure for these characters we've loved so much over this series.
Flirtin' (Ralph & Calliope) had me laughing and feeling all the reader/author/narrator convention love.
Buggin' (Wally & Mabel) had me swooning, jaw dropping and hiding behind a pillow.
Baitin' (James & Louise) had me all up in the feels for impending motherhood, weeping and beaming with joy.
The audio for this was performed with such joy. Erin performed all the female POVs as she did with the original books. She was just as wild, crazy and lovable as she was with each of these characters in their original books. They each have their own distinct personality and it comes through. The improvisational singing was something special to behold... you need to hear it.
But we've never been inside the head of Ralph or Wally before so this was a special treat to get some time from their view along with their lady loves. Erin put these guys through their paces and they rose to the challenge.
Ralph was performed by Jason Clarke - such professionalism and depth of feeling even when having to narrate his character as an audiobook narrator of dino romance.
Wally was performed by Joe Arden - switching gears from romancing his lady to recovering from a wardrobe malfunction of massive proportions without cracking up... yeah, that's a good one. And also the heavy metal improv singing? yeah, you need to hear it.
James was reprised by Teddy Hamilton - he is James and it's perfection. They way he goes with the flow and just finds a way to help Lou through everything. I love this guy so much!!!

❤️ Three novellas that tell us the "after the epilogue" story of Calliope and Ralph, Mabel and Wally and Louise and James.
I gotta say how I freaking loved the uniqueness of each story!
💜 I couldn't get enough of Ralph Alpha reading Tracy Triassic's chapter from her dinosaur romance! I laughed so hard at that and I actually listen to that scene 3 times! It was so amazingly good! Jason Clarke was amazing as usual and I just love hearing Erin reading her own words! I also think Jason and Erin work wonderful together.
I loved seeing Calliope and Ralph learning new new sides of one another. And I really loved the none conventional HEA (but still a great HEA) romance books these couple have. It's a refreshing change.
💙 Mable and Wally's story was pretty surprising considering Mabel's previous story but maybe that what made it so unique. This story made me laugh so much and Wally is definitely the only person who can get Mabel in all her glory.
Jow Arden as Wally was incredible. I couldn't think of someone else as Walla Walla. He was funny, he was witty and he was so sweet and understanding to Mabel.
I think they are just the cutest couple and there's something about her that just makes me happy. I would also really love to be Mable's friend!
💚 Louise and James made me teary eyed most of the story! I know what's it like being in Louise's situation and she actually handled it like a pro!
James too! They really do understand each other and they communicate on a different level and I absolutely love it!

I absolutely loved this 'where are they now?' collection of novellas that catches us up on the quirky couples we fell hard for in Mallon's Natural History series! These couples had me laughing out loud, wanting to cover my eyes with some over the top antics, that again had me howling with laughter, and had me sighing and swooning for these close friends and lovers. What I loved most about each story, in between the laughter, and awkward moments, was at it's core, each story was a heartfelt and honest look at life and love and the challenges we face and overcome with the help of loving partners and friends. Each couple had their own ups and downs, and they faced them in their own unique, quirky, hilarious way, bringing them closer and making them stronger, together. I absolutely loved the friendship between the three women throughout each story. They were each others best cheer leaders, always being unconditionally supportive, and honest. The blurb sums up each story best, so I will just mention a couple of my favorite things from each story, but really, they are all so much more!

These novellas made my heart so happy! Each one was like visiting old friends, I loved getting to see where each couple is now, and the dual perspective from all 3 couples. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Jason Clarke, Joe Arden, Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon. I knew this was going to be my preferred way to read, and I was not disappointed. The performances by these expert narrators was absolute perfection.
In Flirtin', I loved getting to see Callie and Ralph navigate the book world. Having recently attended a book signing in Vegas, I felt like I was right there in the book. The star of this novella was definitely Jason Clarke narrating a spicy dinosaur romance scene inside of an erupting volcano. It was exactly as hilarious and wonderful as you might imagine.
In Buggin' Mabel and Wally continue to be their quirky selves which is already a recipe for hilarity. Erin Mallon performing Mabel's musical improve song was the best thing I heard all day! Joe Arden's performance as Wally was perfectly complimentary and had its own wacky humor.
In Baitin' I found this story much more emotional as Louise prepares for childbirth, but I really enjoyed seeing Louise deal with some of the not so fun parts of pregnancy, and James help her navigate their changing relationship. This story was a wonderful culmination of the three novellas grounding the overall stories and tying it all up in a little bow.
If you listen to the audiobook, Erin Mallon leaves a little audio note at the end which I loved. It feels like she left me a personal voicemail after reading her book and it made the experience that much better.
These novellas are a fantastic way to revisit old characters and I highly recommend them in audio!

Lately I have had zero time to read, but that's the beautiful thing about audiobooks: they are amazing buddies for chores and driving. I've completely embraced the audiobook world, and @mallonerin is the Queen of audiobook narration. I'm pretty sure she could narrate a dictionary, and we would all be laughing on the floor like crazy people. There's something undeniably funny in all her books; after listening to her backstage pass (it's at the end of the book! ), I get why! I'm a fan of comedy, and romantic comedies have always been a favorite genre of mine, so my heart soars every time I listen to one of Mallon's books. This collection of novellas was wonderful. I have only listened to Sharkbait (book 3 of the Natural History Series), but I quickly fell into the story of the novellas. Quick heads up: there are a lot of spoilers in the novellas, so if you're interested, start with The Flirtasaurus, The Love Bug, and The Sharkbait before tackling this one.
It's always satisfying to see characters you've grown to love in one book go through more shenanigans. And this is definitely the right word to describe this collection, and I mean it in the most hilarious way imaginable. From Ralph's moment in the book signing session to Mabel and Wally's performance, finishing with Louise's "situation" on the beach, I honestly can't choose a more outlandish scene. A quick note to the first novella, Flirtin', since I think the message will resonate with a lot of people, not only with first-time authors. We all experience that one moment of feeling like a fraud, and to see Caliope's journey was a gift.
One last note to the male narrators: they did an awesome job in this collection, just as they did in the Natural History series!

I love this series and The Natural History novellas.
This series is super funny, features women in STEM, and doesn’t get enough attention. I’m so glad that in Sharkbait, the author switched to dual POV and carried that through in the novellas because this cast of narrators perfectly captured all the personalities.
The novellas were a perfect “where are they now” peak into their lives. I was strangely emotional while listening which I was not expecting. The novellas were hilarious yet showed the vulnerabilities of the couples.
I loved all the novellas and enjoyed revisiting these characters with their quirky personalities and humor. These are a perfect read or listen for rom com fans who like women in STEM (anthropologist, entymologist, and marine scientist).
🦖 In Flirtin’, Calliope is now a full-time dinosaur romance author and Ralph is her narrator. Hearing Jason Clarke read a snippet of the Dino romance in Ralph’s narrator alter ego had me laughing so hard.
🐞 In Buggin’, Wally and Mabel are off to The Netherlands to celebrate redheads and sell their honey. While there, Mabel finds more than she expected. And that improv song scene? Comedic gold! Both for Mabel’s risqué lyrics and then Wally’s heavy metal improv song to propose. And yes, Erin and Joe both sang the lyrics!

Oh man, I’ve been waiting for these novellas to wrap a series that has been close to my heart. “The Natural History Novellas” are a fun and literal laugh out loud that were the perfect wrap up to the series.
In “Flirtin’”, Callie is a full time dino romance author and is in Vegas for a signing with Ralph who now narrates all of her books. But when Rock Cosmos is called upon to narrate a scene in her book live at the signing, we see Callie’s vulnerable side.
In “Buggin’”, we get to catch up with Mabel and Wally as they grow their maple syrup business by starting a YouTube channel. They end up going to the National Redheads Day festival where they meet some unexpected redheads. I loved how supportive Wally is of Mabel and all of her hilarious quirks.
In “Baitin’”, James and Louise are living in Hawaii and expecting their first baby together. Lots of chaos ensues when the whole gang visits for Wally and Mabel’s wedding.
Erin wrote three amazing novellas and I loved each one so much. In the first two books, it was only written from the FMC’s POV. I was so stoked to have Ralph and Wally’s POV. And of course James POV, too.

If you know me, you know it's fairly common for me to do everything backwards. Sometimes that includes books. It doesn't bother me to read books out of order in a series. That's basically where I am in The Natural History Novellas. I've only read Flirtasaurus, which is the first book in the series, and that was well before I started keeping track of my reviews other than just clicking on the number of stars I thought it was worth at the end of the book. Needless to say, I need to relisten to that book and give it a proper review! With all that said, here's my review of the "where are they now" novellas for the series of books that I've actually only read one of.
I loved how all three "where are they now" stories are in one book, and I also really love how they are all connected. We get an update on all the ladies and where they are in life, both physically and relationship wise. Calliope and Ralph reach dinosaur smut stardom (yes, that's a real thing), Mabel and Wally kind of run into her long lost family (after Wally's jealous fit), and Louise and James and their awesomely blended family. The addition of the male narrators was also great! I can only imagine some of the bloopers that came out of this book! I will say though, that my favorite part of this book was Erin's comments at the end! I love all things behind the scenes related and getting to know an author's or narrator's thoughts, preparation, routine… everything! Erin always has such fine projects and I can't wait to see what she gives us next.

These are 3 of the most hilarious, fun, feel filled stories I've read in a long time. The 3 Natural History couples where are they now. It's 2 years after their books, and things have changed for our girls, but they are still the girls we loved.

Did you ever listen to a book and when it ends, you wonder what happens next? Erin Mallon gives it to us in a hilarious look at the three couples in her Natural History series. I have to say, this is the best kind of medicine for any mood. I know it had me laughing out loud at scenes, making those around me wonder what was so funny! Giving us a glimpse two years later, we see how love evolves. The insecurities and quirkiness still exists, the problems and fun times are abundant. I love revisiting them all! It was a great look at how we all find our people, and love is everlasting. You just have to laugh!
And to make it even better, is the fabulous narration team Erin has assembled. To compliment her amazing comedic timing is Jason Clarke, Joe Arden and Teddy Hamilton. Each finding their idiosyncrasies and making them endearing, bringing a smile to our face and warmth to our hearts. I loved every minute!
