The arrogant, Herculean-looking man who comes on to me at my mom and new stepdad’s wedding is handsome and cocky and everything I need to stay away from. I know better than to get involved with a guy like him—especially since he’s at least ten years older than me and my stepbrother to boot.
I have my career to focus on. I’m determined to work my way up at the most prestigious financial firm in the city. I’ll nail the interview and become the secretary to the most successful CEO in the city. From there, the sky’s the limit.
What I didn’t count on was him being my infuriatingly conceited new stepbrother.
USA Today bestselling author Emma Bray writes intense, steamy romances with possessive alpha males who’ll stop at nothing to claim the women they want. Emma’s instalove stories are filled with heat, passion and happily ever afters.
Meh, and I only got an icky vibe from Charlie (??). He's older—I think more than a decade—than Sharon (21); that's why he probably knows what he wants. But every action from him only pissed me off, and what he did to her was sexual harassment. But since this is fiction and deep down she's attracted to him as well, I guess I can pretend that it's just his way of bulldozing into her life. 🤧
Anyway, didn't like it, so onto the next read.
Book info: - Novella - Step-siblings - Age gap (decade?? or more??) - V FMC 🙄, No info on MMC - No cheating, opd, separation - HEA (1 yr later, married)
I no longer give a flying fuck if Sharon is my stepsister. I’ll take my little lioness and turn her into a purring kitten if it’s the last thing I do.
Sharon and Charlie meet at their parent's wedding. Their attraction to each other is obvious, but they're both slightly horrified learning that they're stepsiblings. The very next day, Sharon goes in for an interview at a corporation at Charlie owns (but she doesn't know it!). She's hired on the spot as his assistant... and they're pushed together once again.
“All of your smiles belong to me.” “I don't belong to anyone,” she retorts back, but her voice comes out shaky, killing the effect she was going for. I plant my hands on either side of her head and look directly into her eyes as I breathe right against her lips. “You and I both know that's a lie.”
He fires a man for flirting with her and ends up taking her virginity in the elevator at work, which was hot. He's veryyyy jealous/possessive!
“You feel how wet your little pussy is for your daddy, baby?” Charlie whispers in my ear. I go completely still in his arms as his words crash into me and cause something wicked to spark to life inside me. “Oh, yes,” he whispers hotly in my ear. “You heard that right. I called myself your daddy because that's what I am, isn't it? I'm not your boss. I'm not your stepbrother. I'm not just some guy. I'm your daddy, and I'm the only one who knows how to give you what you need.”
I liked the story, but it needs editing.
safety: virgin heroine (surprise v-card trope!) age gap (21h, 30sH) daddy kink no OM/OW no cheating/sharing HEA ♡
Stepbrother Boss, Book 2 of the Sinful Stepbrothers trilogy, was about 21-year-old Sharon Shay, a secretary, and 29-year-old Charles "Charlie" Callaway, the CEO/owner of a finance firm called C Industries (and the eldest of the three Callahan brothers). Charlie and Sharon met for the first time at the wedding reception of their parents. Sharon's mother married Charlie's father...after Charlie had just hit on her. They didn't speak much after the surprise introduction. The morning after the wedding, Sharon had an interview to become the newest secretary to the CEO of a company she hoped to one day lead. After securing the position, she prepared to settle in and learn her new job. She had not yet met the CEO she would be working for but looked forward to working with him. When she did finally meet him, it was to learn that it was Charlie, one of her new stepbrothers. Charlie was like a man possessed where Sharon was concerned. He didn't want her smiling at or laughing with another co-worker, so he fired the man. He didn't want her taking a taxi to/from work, so he made her ride with him. He didn't want to leave her outside of his office, so he moved her desk in with his. Two days after meeting each other, he took her V-card in the elevator at work. There were SO many errors in this story, and it was uncomfortable to read them, especially the one where the FMC said that HIS mom and HER dad were married to each other when it was HER mom and HIS dad. Another HUGE error was when the MMC called the FMC by HIS name! O.M.G.!! This was a little better than book 1 in the trilogy, but it still had so many things that needed editing that caused the story to be less than it could have been. Once again, it was lacking in content, it felt rushed and incomplete, and it had quite a few unresolved issues. Like its predecessor, I could only give it a three-star rating.
Sharon and Charlie meet at their parents’ wedding. They had already hit it off and were interested in the other, before being introduced. Surprise, that hot thing you were eyeing is your new step sibling! Charlie is the owner of a business which Sharon coincidentally was interviewing for a position. She was hired to be Charlie’s assistant, without his meeting his new employee in the hiring process. He fires an employee for flirting with her. He is controlling, possessive, and jealous. Quickly going to the step of having her call him daddy. There were some hot scenes. I love Emma Bray’s books. This one was not my favorite. I felt the story did not flow smoothly, maybe a bit rushed. I was uncomfortable with the intensity of “daddy” and the office aspect, firing of the flirting employee doesn’t work for me. I kept thinking “sexual harassment lawsuit” in the workplace. I like the control and possessiveness; it was a bit too much for me in this story. Overall, a good story line, with likeable characters. I listened to this book immediately after listening to book 1, and I think I prefer this dynamic more, but I think the story in book 1 was cuter. I also preferred the spice in book 1 as well. Like I said in my book 1 review, the insta-love and hardcore possession plot of this series feels a bit much at times. It starts like there will be a big build-up, just for them to be making whoopee in the next chapter, and in love 3 chapters later.... and then the epilogue in the next chapter. I don't mind the instalove trope, I just think it could've been paced slightly better with maybe 2 or 3 more chapters. this opacing in book 2 was actually worse than book 1 lol. It felt like she hated him for the first 2/3 of the book, and then in the last chapter, they did it in an elevator, and she tried to quit, and boom.. Theyre in love. Overall, a solid 3 stars, but the pacing is truly something unusual in these books. They are great time and noise filler reads that will keep you engaged enough to keep going, and the spice is good, but understand that it's going to confuse you (or maybe it's just a me problem lolol) with how fast everything moves.
Sure, it tasted like shit, but her hands had prepared it for me. he drank his coffee with liberal amount of salt. salt. this man got me blushing and shit
these brothers 🛐🛐
the book was short, no nonsense, OTT; needs editing tho
I really liked this story. It was over the top, entertaining, and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable although I did want to smack them upside the head a few times. Charlie was attending his father’s wedding reception when he saw a woman that floored him. He decided to pursue her but was interrupted from his pursuit when he found out that she was his new stepsister. Sharon was attracted to Charlie but knew that he was arrogant and her stepbrother. When she found out that her new boss was going to be Charlie, she was determined to just do her job to the best of her ability. Charlie had other ideas. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.
This has a lot of potential but to many grammatical mistakes.. It was a little too rushed and kuldip have stand to have another two or three more chapters to develop the characters relationship with each other. The smexy scenes were streaming though and I would have loved to read a bit more🥵 …
The confrontation of her quitting was too abrupt.. basically it felt like the book ended before it even began; maybe the next book will have what I feel this one missed out on!! 🫤🫤🤞🤞
This book was okay. There were minor mistakes during POV, and they were mixed up, other then that, the book was what you expected.... This book and the 1st one are pretty similar they met at their parents' wedding, and Charlie hitted on Sharon at the wedding, and they found out they are step siblings.... She ended up getting a job as his personal assistant, she didn't he was the CEO.... He kept getting under her skin, which annoyed her, and things between them got heated....
I’m not sure if this book was the right fit for me. My emotions were all over the place while I was listening to it. At times, the language was a bit too brash for my taste.
Emma Bray has good writing skills, but I wasn’t a big fan of this second book in the “Sinful Stepbrothers” series.
Mackenzie Berry was the narrator, and her performance was fine. She spoke well and transitioned between characters effectively. However, since I already had a certain impression of the book, it made it difficult for me to provide a clear and unbiased review.
If you like the old fashioned Harlequin books inherited from your mother, you will like this. I feel that this little insta-love reads should be sweet, easy and without overly exorbitant drama, so far this writer's style meets my reading requirements without getting me all frazzled and pissed of with some jackalope imaginary H and doormat h. I give this a 10 star or a 10 on my own personal grading scale.
I enjoyed reading this story. I enjoyed their verbal sparing, from the very beginning. I liked that he knew at first glance that she was it for him. She was preoccupied, but wasn’t immune to him. Loved the sparks flying, from the moment she walked into her new job, working for him. Loved the epilogue!
Sharon and Charlie felt a pull to one another at their parents wedding, but not even knowing they had become step-sibblings, the attraction wouldn't fade and once they start working together it gets worse. But no worries, they get their HEA. I received a free copy of this Audiobook via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Charlie (H) instantly falls for his new stepsister, Sharon (h), and is surprised to find out she’s his new personal secretary. Sharon is drawn to Charlie but resists his advances since he’s her boss and her stepbrother. But Charlie keeps coming and working to wear her barriers down until things heat up between the two. Hot and steamy steps instalove quickie.

Charlie and Sharon both decide independently to stay away from their step sibling. Until fate intervenes when she’s hired by HR to be the secretary of the CEO. The CEO is Charlie! If Charlie has anything to say about it Sharon will be his!.

Charlie sees Sharon across the room at his father's wedding and is instantly intrigued. Charlie wants Sharon fiercely, then he finds out she's one of his new step sisters. Things just got complicated, but in Charlie's book not impossible. Will Sharon feel the same way?
Loved this story! Charlie and Sharon are perfect together. Feisty and Alpha. HEA and can be read alone. But definitely start with this if you're gonna read the short series
This was almost identical to book 1, except instead of a next door neighbor, she worked for him. I don't understand the fascination stand-up sex, but whatever. I was disappointed in this book.
5⭐️5🌶️ When you meet at your parents wedding fall for each other and then find out you’re going to be step siblings. Talk about odd. Family gatherings will be odd lol
I really enjoyed this whole series doesn't seem to be a specific way that you have to read them. They were all pretty short reads read each one in a couple of hours. The characters were well written and described really liked the way all three of the stories went
Another great book. I've enjoyed how each brother goes after what he wants, and nothing is to stand in their way. Can't wait to read the 3rd brothers story.
