Kind of disappointing

The first 60 to 70% of the book was good. Then it's a lot of sex, I understand a connection had to be shown but come on for the rest of the book?

This is part of the Dark Mafia Romances series each one can be read as a standalone with in an hour or so, with a sexy dangerous guy and the younger women who captured his heart rendering him powerless to her. Nita is intelligent, sweet, wanted nothing more than to be a mom, loves children studying earl childhood education and when she finds out she is pregnant happiness couldn’t begin to describe how she felt until her pregnancy turns out to be ectopic creating more damage than imaginable breaking her heart in the process and her brother couldn’t take the fact that she can only have children in vitro he walks away. So far she is content with working with her children one day a gunman comes into her class but he didn’t know what he bargained for because she wasn’t going to allow him to hurt any of her babies so out of shear determination to protect she subdue the gunman and the children father is so thankful offering her a job to be their nanny despite the rumors he is part of an organized crime family however, with the money he is offering she can make the money needed for the vitro procedure. Charles sexy as all get out older mob boss who married the women he was arranged to marry neither loved the other but out of duty to their families had two children but when she is murdered he is out for revenge but making his boys his highest priority moving putting them in daycare with policeman kids hoping to deter anyone from coming after his boy but he isn’t that lucky so when he learns that a young women kept his boys safe he offers her a job why not knowing she will do whatever it takes to keep his boys safe and besides he doesn’t take the answer no to often but he never expected to be so open with her about everything, the more time she spends with him and his boys the more they get to know each other growing closer and that magnetic pull can’t be ignored. He realizes he will do anything /everything in his power to protect her just as he would his boys but when his enemies go after her will he save her in time or lose the one women he loves, will he find out who killed his children’s mother, will Nita get the baby she has always wanted, and is there happiness for the two of them?.

I have liked all of the Devil series book by Jess Thick....

....until this one.

While in all others, the ex-partners of the h/H were non existent, this one was not. The H realised he loved his first wife after she died and the h was a case of second best.

I don't like second best stories. I will never believe in their happy ending as since they're second best, had it been anyone else than the h, the outcome would have been same. Or if the ex wife hadn't died, there wouldn't have been any happy ending. And this is also the reason I don't like nanny stories with single dads with dead ex or an ex who has dropped the child at the dad's door. The nanny role always will be a poor substitute to a mother and there's this employee/employer thing involved which I can't digest outside of office romances.

Everything was about the first wife..Daniella this Daniella that...and he so caught up in guilt that you can't believe was with the h because he actually loved her, he just wanted to make everything right which he did wrong with his first wife.

There are comparisons in every step and since he has the guilt of not loving his wife when she was alive, he wants make it right with the h as a substitute. And there was so much tell don't show. We are told that they're having fantastic animalistic sex but never shown. It's all glossed over. And I there transition to sex was so abrupt and sudden... out of nowhere. There was no attraction or build up, straight up sex without context.

So the HEA is somewhat lacks and I don't really believe in the love in these types of stories.

Pass.

Nita works in a nursery watching over children. She longs for one of her own and just when its seems its going to happen she loses her baby. Her boyfriend leaves her, and she wonders what to do next. One day when she was at the nursery two brothers that are in her care are almost kidnapped. However, she takes down the man and saves the kids. Her boss is lecturing her on what she did and when she gets a job offer, she quits the nursery. She becomes Peter and Thomas's full-time nanny. Its not long before Charles is drawn to her too. Will she be able to keep the kids safe? Will Charles see that she is perfect for his family?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

This book is raw and decadent. It is engaging and had me hooked to the point of almost missing an appointment. It is steamy and the author explored the taboo, which might be disgusting to some but do know that some of the sexual scenes are not for the faint hearted.
I did not see the climax coming and the villain was unexpected. This is a book you will want to read.
It does deserve a five star but I am giving it a 3.5 star because there were a lot of typos which can be avoided. I felt like I had the job of an editor as I had to keep noting down the errors. Notwithstanding, the typos will not put you off the book as the storyline is fantastic.

Nita is devastated when her boyfriend leaves her after she has an ectopic pregnancy. As she tries to come to terms with it, she embraces her students, but everything changes when a man comes to take Tommy and Peter and she has to defend them. She is offered the job as their nanny and as she and their father get to know each other, it sparks feelings between them. Will their relationship have Nita going from nanny to mommy? This exciting story drew me in and had me in Nita's corner to finally get her chance for happiness!

This novel had a lot of up and down moments for me. One moment, I was completely sure I wouldn't keep reading it; but then in the next second, something would grab my attention enough to pull me back in.

The overall story line was impeccable, I just could not stay hooked 100%. Definitely worth the read; however, because in the right hands this novel could be amazing.

"You`re sad about the baby, aren`t you?"
"I am, but I will be okay."
"I have decided you should be a mummy, so you will be
Peter`s and my mummy!"

Sigh... Thomas offer is so kind.
- Still, the Ice-King has yet to warm up to his Queen on thin ice.

A surprisingly well-written short story.

Some serious editing is needed.
I was disappointed with the main characters too. I did not feel like they actually fell in love.. on what grounds? It was random and unexplained.

The MMC had an arranged marriage with his late wife and repeatedly said he respected her but never loved her, but then once Nita came along, he realized he did love his wife and wished he told her. Instantly though, he's ready for a relationship with Nita. The sex-only deal they had gets twisted to a point he says he wants her kids to be his and tells his own boys he will one day marry her - before ever telling Nita he wants more. Nita similarly tells herself it's only physical and can end at any time, but once Charles pushes her, she admits she loves him. When? How?

I just couldn't buy their relationship.

In no way do I believe the love story between these two people. And the end was ridiculous.

Cute

Very fast and it lacks substance tbh even if the plot had loads of potential. I would have wanted some more structure and character to the story.

💋ARC REVIEW💋

This was unlike any nanny/mob romance I have ever read before. This was my first book by Jess Trick and I’m obsessed. I want to read ALL of her books!!
It was sweet, romantic, heartfelt and filled my heart with joy. It pulled on my heart strings, the love and the loss was overwhelming. It made me feel everything that the characters were feeling. It was absolutely beautiful! 🥹
If you’re looking for a short n sweet read that will have you swooning, crying and smiling then this is for you!
