The Nanny Factor! Is there something more going on between Actor Kingston Grier and his new nanny? Stay tuned…

Kingston: Who knew it would be such a challenge finding a nanny who could focus on my daughter without getting sidetracked by trying to get into my bed? I can’t even make eye contact without them thinking I’m flirting. I’m not.

Until Briar arrives, and finally I have a nanny who’s there for Zoe. But why does this Mary Poppins have to be so damn hot?

Briar: My divorce left me with more than my share of trust issues. Not that I’m looking at my new boss that way. Kingston might be a Hollywood hunk, but the guy has the personality of a potato. His daughter couldn’t be more different. One look into her doe eyes, and I am in love.

Somehow Kingston and I go from barely speaking to talking all night long. And our attraction becomes impossible to deny. Just when everything’s finally going right, intimate pictures of us are leaked and the fallout is insane. When I signed up for this job, I knew I’d do anything to protect Zoe—I just never expected how much I’d want to fight for King.

This was a great book full of a slow burn romance that you will cheer for. King and Briar have passion and trust issues but it all ends in love. There is drama, family issues, romance. I enjoyed this book.

With my review of Falling for Rome, I put my money on King being my favorite. So how did he stack up? I fell for Rome, but would I fight for King? Let’s find out!

What I liked about the book:
1. Similar to book one, this sequel had fantastic writing. Gillian Archer is a pro at creating genuine and lovable heroines you want to be BFFs with and flawed heroes you can’t help but want more of.

Briar had all of my love from the beginning with her sad backstory. This woman had went through two things I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, and yet still maintained kindness and a hopeful attitude. I also loved that she was a divorced, older (as in, not nineteen) heroine.

We’ll get to King in a bit, but he was not the main man for me in this one. I mean, obviously, yes, he was the MMC, but he is not the one who stood out and made me want more. That honor goes to…NIX! I know, I can’t believe it either after the hate I had for him in book 1! With him finally being clean, him helping to mend the battles in their family, and his “help” to Briar, he had me seeing him in a new light. Dare I say, I think he’ll be my favorite Grier brother? UGGGHHHH, no matter how hard I try these bad boys just keep finding me! 😉

2. It’s a guilty pleasure of mine, but I really like the nanny/employer trope and this one was done well.

I liked how Briar was actually competent at her job because of her background in teaching. I also liked that the couple wasn’t thrown together 24/7 like a lot of less-preferable nanny/employer trope books I’ve read. And, of course, there’s the perk of an adorable child! Though, I did like that the book definitely didn’t shy away from the struggles of watching a toddler all day, because let’s be real, it’s not all giggles and rainbows.

3. I liked the additional people we met in this one so much that I wasn’t even that mad that Rome and Sophia weren’t in it much.

Briar’s parents are hilarious, especially with King being one of her mom’s celebrity hall passes... AWKWARD! But hilarious!

Mak is the strong, silent type buddy you know has a lot going on under the surface. He definitely served as the swift kick in the ass to the couple everyone needs every once in a while.

And lastly, I actually liked Joyce (King’s mom). She was understanding, warm, and seemed to be the only one that could keep Nix in line. Despite her history, I couldn’t help but trust her this time around.

4. King is supposed to be the actor who plays Captain America, so of course I immediately think of my future baby daddy Chris Evans. Point? That cover is spot on! Great job whoever decided on that cover because you nailed the sexiest man alive look. Seriously, am I the only one that wants to trace his beard lines with my tongue? Just me? Alright…

What could have been better:
1. I was a little underwhelmed with King, but I think that’s because of my high hopes going into the sequel. Don’t get me wrong, he was great once he wasn’t so prickly. Unfortunately, I think the best term to describe him for the first half of the book is off-putting, which is not a glowing recommendation. I’m all for the grumpy x sunshine trope, but that wasn’t really what happened in this book either. He was just…off-putting.

2. I feel like another thing the books in this series have in common so far are shit best friends. I didn’t care for Molly in book 1, and I definitely didn’t care for Lyla in this one. I feel with how genuine the FMCs are in this series they deserve better.

Final Thoughts:
I would verbally spar, for King; I would fight for Briar.

Final Rating: 4 don’t sleep on this beauty stars!

Fighting for King is the story of a Hollywood heartthrob and his nanny. Kingston is a superhero (in the movies), but being a single parent isn't really easy when you have a job like his. Its also difficult to find a nanny who isn't an aspiring actress or hoping to be the next Mrs. Grier.

Briar is recently divorced and drowning in student loan debt. Taking a job as a nanny means way more money than she makes as a preschool teacher. She adores Zoe, but King is a surly, grumpy jerk. Until he isn't. King was so worried about nannies trying to seduce him he missed the danger of him falling for the nanny.

Both King and Briar have a lot of baggage to deal with. Add a cute but demanding toddler to the mix and you have a lot going on. Despite King being a major grump, I liked these two! Their story isn't an easy one, but you can't not fall for them! I appreciate the author didn't go with a miscommunication or similar trope. This was more mature than that!

  POV: dual 1st
  Tears: a few
  Trope: boss/employee
  Triggers: none
  Series/Standalone: standalone
  Cliffhanger:
  HEA:

Single dad/nanny troupe? SIGN ME UP. And this one did not disappoint. King and Briar hit all the buttons for me. Briar is still reeling from her divorce but she is trying to take back her life and do things for her for once. And that means King. I loved her so much. King has been burned one too many times and doesn't trust anyone but Briar wiggles her way under his skin and into his heart. These two were so good. I adored them. I didn't read the first one in this series but didn't feel like I was missing out at all. Really enjoyed and would definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed reading this book even though it had some heavier subjects I didn't expect to read. I haven't read the first book in the series yet, but I could still follow the story of this one easily, you don't necessarily need the first book for it. I absolutely loved the characters, especially near the end of the book. I fell hard and fast and I finished this book in what feels like a blink of the eye. I was hooked from start to finish and will definitely come back for more!

Fighting For King by Gillian Archer is a heart-squeezing, emotional rollercoaster of a romance novel that is completely overflowing with all the feels. This book revolves around superhero movie star & single dad with a tumultuous past & famous siblings, Kingston & recently divorced, heartbroken preschool teacher turned his nanny, Briar. Both of the main characters are working through their complex pasts as they learn to trust again & what follows is a beautiful to witness love story.
The two main characters were both in their thirties, which is amazing & something not super common in the romance book world but should be. I also don’t think I’ve ever read a book that discussed IVF. The main character, Briar, has struggled with infertility & even had a pregnancy loss. Your heart aches for her, but it’s wonderful that you still to get to experience her happily ever after with her. I was smitten for this couple & their relationship with the hero’s toddler daughter, Zoe. I love romance novels with family aspects & Zoe is the most adorable girl.
This was a very believable slowburn love story, even though there is a celebrity aspect it still felt realistic. There was drama, character growth, a bit of action & mystery, love, spice & basically everything nice. If you are looking for an equally emotional & entertaining romance read, then I would highly recommend checking out Fighting For King by Gillian Archer.

Massive thanks to the author & Wildfire Marketing for the arc, which I voluntarily read & reviewed. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Trigger warnings: This book mentions &/or contains death, addiction, pregnancy loss, infertility, non consensual image sharing & cheating (ex).

Our hero, Kingston Grier is an actor & super sexy of course, but he's also a great single father who needs to find a nanny who's there for his daughter & not him. Luckily for him, he ends up with Briar, a woman who is a great nanny, and has some issues with relationships after a divorce which left her with serious trust issues. She finds Kingston hot (who wouldn't) but he's not that great to her which makes it easier for her to keep to herself. It also helps that she fell for his daughter instantly & Zoe is in good hands at this point. I didn't appreciate the way he treated our girl at first, but I will say that he was a great father full stop. Of course these two do have some sparks flying, and they move to talking a lot which makes things a bit more complicated with any sort of attraction because he's her boss, but even worse, he's famous so there are always paps around trying to catch him doing something. I found it extremely easy to devour this story in one sitting with the heat, two MC's who I loved, drama, a tad bit of mystery, and the supporting cast who brought a ton of humor to the table with a kicker of scene stealing Zoe! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It's been a while since I have read a Gillian Archer book and I missed Falling For Rome, but this is easily read as a stand alone. All Kingston Grier, superhero actor, (I stopped watching the Marvel movies when they went WOKE, so have no idea who is playing Captain America now) really cares about is his daughter, Zoe. He needs a nanny who is not an unemployed actress trying to get into his bed. Briar St Clair, with an BA in childhood education and an MA in teaching, is coming off a horrible divorce and living back home in her parent's house. Her BBF, Lyla, works for a placement company, and Lyla thinks that Blair would be the perfect nanny for Zoe. The lucrative position would pay off her student loans and help her with some medical issues. Neither King or Blair are looking for a relationship, but they are just so cute together that they can't fight the attraction. As they create their own little Gan Eden for Zoe, a snake, ironically by the name of Adam tries to destroy their paradise. The characters are all very endearing, especially Zoe, and the writing is marvelous as always.

i got this Arc from NetGalley but all opinions are my own :)
Omg this book had me from the first page ! i could not put it down !!!!
this book was sweet and sexy and i freaking loved it :)

I totally loved Briar ,she is such a great character ,the moment she meets King she totally thinks he hates her and he kinda does but once they get to know one another they have such a connection ,they both have relationship baggage and are not looking to get involved but they can't fight what is happening between them and i love love loved every second of it :) i felt so bad for Briar and everything her ex put her though but i loved that King was there for her :)

Omg King is so smoken' hot ! i love how much he cares about his daughter and that no matter what he always put's her first ! he is such a great dad ,i totally get why he's Leary of someone new coming into his life but i thought it was so great that he ends up building such a strong relationship with Briar ,i could see why he would be gun shy after everything that happened with his ex but the fact that he doesn't push Briar away and he is finally able to open up to her was so great !

I really enjoyed this book and i just wanted more ! i can not wait to read more from Gillian Archer !

Briar's divorced and has moved back in with her parents when her best friend convinces her to interview for a nanny position. She'd be perfect for it - she's been teaching little ones, has gotten her Master's, and is the last person who'd want to come onto her potential new boss, Hollywood good guy Kingston Grier. Unfortunately, upon meeting him, she can tell he doesn't like her, so is completely surprised to find him offering her the position. But make no mistake, Kingston isn't offering her anything but the job of nannying his daughter. There will be no sliding past that line. Right?

Kingston wanted a nanny who wouldn't sell him out to the tabloids, one who wouldn't try to end up in his bed, who would concentrate on his daughter. So why does the very fact that Briar's only interested in Zoe bother him so much?! He cannot, will not, be that guy. The one perving on his new nanny. Right?

I love the nanny trope when the nanny is really all about the child, and not angling for more with the dad, at least at first. And that's one of the reasons why I like this story so much - Briar is such a great character, so good with Zoe, and really fell in love with her before she even thought about liking Kingston. Kingston ends up being a great character after he gets over his grumpypants phase, and then when his daddy of the year side shown through, yeah that's when I saw why Briar fell for him. There are some great secondary characters too, now I'm really looking forward to Kingston's brother Nix's story next *hint hint!*

Fighting for King

What happens when two people get burned?

In the second book in the Star Studded series we get Kingston and Briar’s story. Probably two of the nicest people with little trust left in opposite sex. When he hires Briar to be the nanny of the sweetest toddler Kingston discovers that maybe this incredible woman might find love not only for himself but what he always wanted for his daughter. The author writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

Authors Blurb: Kingston: Who knew it would be such a challenge finding a nanny who could focus on my daughter without getting sidetracked by trying to get into my bed? I can’t even make eye contact without them thinking I’m flirting. I’m not.

Until Briar arrives, and finally we have a nanny who’s there for Zoe.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

honestly, after reading the first book in series—falling for rome—i didn’t expect too much from the next one. But this was surprisingly better. I particularly liked the first half and the initial tension between the characters came in strong. Kingston and Briar were so dynamic and mature, I loved them. I was afraid that them as a pair would come out flat and baseless like Sophia and Rome (yikes) but i could see that fire in them. I liked how open and healthy their conversations were (even though King went a lil overboard in the jealousy department but i loved it nevertheless). The writing was definitely better than the previous book.

I feel like their relationship was somewhat tipping between insta-love and a slow burn since it was none of those as a whole. I’m a huge slow-burn lover so unfortunately, this was my first issue. Since the beginning was so strong and just reading about Kingston in general, i had high hopes from him, but he didn’t turn out to be as grumpy as i expected.

And single dad trope? I haven't been reading a lot of that lately but imma sucker for a girl daddy and those whooshie moments, which this definitely served. Zoe was a literal bundle of sunshine and I swear I had tears with all Kingston crossing the moon and stars for his little princess. Since this trope was in the play, i really do believe that tossing friends with benefits in the mix was a smart choice, and one I absolutely loved.

Another thing that I had a feeling was missing was the lacking use of backstory. Both Briar and Kingston had a great backstory (unlike Sophie and Rome. I’m sorry i just can't stop bringing it up :/) but the execution was MIA. Plus, a celebrity x nanny already carry so much potential, but i’m afraid it didn’t consume that to its fullest. I can count the amount of loose ends it left behind without addressing them.

All in all, if the book would have been a hundred pages more I could see it becoming a real deal. The relationship in general between all of the characters can gain more space to flourish, and become more believable. I’m actually very excited for Phoenix’s book next!! Even though, more than having that alluring and lost sexy little brother vibes, he simply seemed like a spoilt brat to me. But I'm excited to read more of him and get to know more of his character!

Thankyou so much Xpresso Book tours and Netgalley for sending the e-arc along my way in exchange for an honest review. I appreciate it sm!!!

It’s very difficult to write a nanny/boss trope and make it believable and not sleazy but this author made it. It’s not my favorite trope but tied together with a Hollywood actor convinced me to give it a chance, and I’m glad I did.

Story development was great and the characters were fantastic. I loved that both are broken characters, coming from horrible relations, so both were wary and determined to make their relation professional only. But of course, the heart wants what it wants.

Briar comes from a very bitter divorce, where her husband cheated with a friend and got her pregnant. She’s a teacher with student loans and fertility problems so she needs money for IVF and to pay for her loans. Kingston Grier is a very busy actor, about to get involved in an action film and needs a nanny for his baby girl. Preferably, one without ambitions of sharing his bed nor his name. His wife died some months ago but they were divorcing because she was selfish, narcissistic and crazy to boot. So he also has injuries on the married front.

Initially all was well and good, and Briar was a hit with Zoe. The little girl is a good character judge because she got attached to Briar very quick. The problem is that King got attached pretty quick also, and the problems started to pile one on top of the other.

I enjoyed this book because it tells us a realistic story of what it feels to be in the Hollywood scene, with the paparazzi and the fear of living your life in the public eye. All the problems that King and Briar face felt very realistic and very scary and make you think twice about getting involved with someone in the show biz. The love story developed in a believable manner, with some angst, lots of steam, and lots of cute baby time. It was entertaining and sweet, with the bitter touches of nasty family relations who want their moment in the light at the expense of others.

I took a few hours extra to finish this book because I was re-reading most of the lines again and again. The author has just sculpted the characters so beautifully.

KINGSTON - The Male Character is a famous Hollywood star. He's also playing a very important role in his daughter's (Zoe) life. She's his priority. I indeed loved how he managed to come out from his fear of betrayal and trust Briar (His girl forever) It's for sure not easy to trust anyone when your mom and the woman who gave birth to your child has betrayed you. The author paying attention to emotions of each situation he had to deal with was something I didn't find in many books so far.

BRIAR - The Female Character has always been the one who admired working with little children. Initially she came for Zoe to be her nanny but later she started to fight for king and that's when we understand the title of the book. When her ex-husband broke her heart by leaving her and going behind her friend. The Fidelity issue she had with her ex husband was drafted in the perfect manner with the right mix of words. She had no faith over another man. But then again when she allowed herself to trust King was making me hope that he would never break her heart. She definitely deserved the best and he was her best.

Tropes:-
Star/Celebrity Hero
Cute Heroine
Nanny-Boss
Single Dad
Miscarriage/Fertility issue

The writer has brought out the serious topic of fertility issue in an extraordinary stating there are still many better ways to have a child. The 'Epilogue' was so lovely and I really hoped to see more of 'Wynter' their next daughter. Definitely I'm silently buring to wait for Phoenix.

Thank you so much @netgalley and @gilliarcher for handing over the ARC of this book. Here's my honest review in return to show my gratitude.

Quick Summary: A two-hearts-until-forever FWB romance

My Review: Fighting for King by Gillian Archer was a surprisingly complete love story. It had all of the elements that make for a great romance. It had likeable leads who were genuinely good people. It had unresolved family issues that contributed to character choices. It had a sweet, little toddler who was loved by all. It had a mixed group of interesting secondary characters, each with their own unique journeys. It had conflict, angst, betrayals, and grief. Best of all, it had love.

King and Briar's love story had it all. Their two-hearts-until-forever FWB romance had the slow burn, it had some great chemistry, and it had a friends-to-lovers approach. The HEA and the epilogue were nicely done. K and B's story ended in a very satisfying way.

King: Single dad, famous actor, brother, son of divorced parents

Briar: Divorcee, educator, nanny, daughter of parents who were happily married

King's brothers captured my attention in a big way. Nix was particularly captivating. I need to know his story. Because of the need to know his story, I cannot help but be curious about Rome's story.

My Final Say: Readers who enjoy a friends with benefits love story or a story about finding a second chance at love will really enjoy this book. It is a fast-paced read that will draw you in quickly.

Synopsis: Kingston Grier is a handsome famous actor and single father struggling to find a nanny for his daughter Zoe, that will focus on Zoe and not trying to jump his bones. When Briar arrives, he has finally found a nanny who is there for Zoe. Briar is recently divorced and is struggling with her share of trust issues. While she knows King is hot and an amazing actor, she believes he has no personality. But his daughter on the other hand has an amazing personality. Little does she know he is hiding his personality to keep her at arms length because he struggles with his attraction to her and his own trust issues. Somehow King and Briar went from never talking to talking all night. And now their attraction is impossible to deny, what will they do when intimate pictures are leaked and the fallout is insane?

Thoughts: My guilty pleasure is nanny/single dad trope and this book was well done! I really loved both Briar and Kings backstories, Briar’s sad backstory really made me want to give her a big hug. I did love that she wasn’t like the 19-20s age that usually happens in nanny/single dad trope, she is divorced and in her thirties which I appreciated. I am not sure I have ever read a romance that discussed IVF, which was something new for me. It made my heart ache for Briar, who wants to be a mom. I really enjoyed this book! I recommend it for anyone that wants an entertaining and emotional read.

This book includes:
-slow-burn
-single dad
-nanny and single dad

Briar has just been through a rough divorce that has gutted her and is in no way, shape, or form in the mood to start a new relationship so she’s the obvious choice to become the new nanny for Kingston Grier’s toddler, right? Kingston, “Captain America” Grier has a huge distrust of women after the shenanigans his mother and ex-wife put him through. His love for his daughter is commendable but initially seems like a bit of a jerk to Briar. He quickly softens toward her after seeing the loving care she shows baby Zoe and sharing close quarters soon brings the simmering heat between the two to a boil. This book is another great read by this author and a nice quick romance with very relatable characters. I love the idea of this hot and lovable movie star being kind of a grump in real life, Briar’s Disney loving parents (“Sleeping Beauty” is my favorite too) are comical, and little Zoe is adorable. The heat intensity is low to medium with some steamy points, but the logistics of ordinary Briar and mega star Kingston forming a relationship is everyone’s childhood dream of their movie star crush. This is book two in the Grier brothers series. You don’t have to have read Roman’s story first to enjoy this one but I highly suggest you you do because it’s really good too. 4.5 stars, must read.

So excited for this series to continue! After getting to know a little bit of Kingston and his background, I was so excited to know that his book was next! After a disastrous divorce with a lot of resentment, Briar is starting over and not sure where to start. When a friend recommends her to take a nanny position as a way to get money to start a family of her own, she is hesitant but ends up taking the interview, and her life changes forever. Unable to keep a nanny that is more focused on his daughter rather than him, Kingston is frustrated and isn’t interested in Briar, assuming she’s just like the others. But when they meet and she’s more focused on his daughter, he moves forward with hiring her, despite the feelings he initially feels for her. As they get to know each other, we see both of these characters let their guards down with each other, even when Briar doesn’t with Kingston’s assistant, and they decide to keep things casual, which turns somewhat messy. This book was a wild ride – even though I saw the big blowup coming, I was still surprised, even though it’s something that happens probably often in that world. I’m so happy that things work out for this couple though, and we also get the added benefit and story of Kingston making amends with his mother. Can’t wait to get the next book in this series!

Fighting for King is the second book in the Star Studded series written by Gillian Archer, a new-to-me author. It was well-written, fast-paced, and caught my attention right away. This nanny-employee romance had some intrigue and humor that kept me reading.
Kingston needed to find a nanny who wasn’t interested in him and his fame. He was in the middle of a film, and he had already gone through a dozen nannies that didn’t work out. He wanted one who could connect with Zoe, his daughter, and not get starry-eyed for him. King thought Briar would be like the rest, but she actually had no interest in him which was intriguing.
Briar just ended her marriage after being betrayed by her husband and best friend. She needed a new start in life and the nanny job would allow her to save money. She wasn’t sure why King barely spoke to her, but she fell for Zoe right away. After having a conversation one night with King, it became a nightly routine and made it hard for her to ignore her interest in King.
Briar had trust issues after her divorce so watching her friendship and trust in King slowly grow was great. She was such a sweet character and really great for Kingston and Zoe. Kingston started off with a grumpy attitude but was trying to make sure Briar didn’t get any ideas about him. I loved when he realized she had no interest in him which threw him off. This was an emotional and heartwarming story, and I fully enjoyed it. I really hope the next book is for Nix because he needs a happy ever after.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I might like King even better than Rome! He’s a dad with one thing on his mind: protecting his daughter and giving her the best in life. But he’s had a bit of a bad run with nannies because, well, he’s a movie star. And then comes Briar. At first, he’s dead set against her. But then he sees just how great she is with Zoe, how genuine she is, and how utterly NOT looking to bag a star she is. And that’s beyond rare for his circles in this life. But as these two get to know each other, painful secrets are shared, attraction grows, and speculation turns into revenge by one who should’ve been in their corner all along. Can their relationship survive it?

Oddly enough, I found myself truly enjoying Nix and King’s mother here. They appear to be looking for real redemption and forgiveness, so maybe new leaves can be a thing for this family. And Nix becomes the savior and support that Briar desperately needs at a pivotal time, which also spurs King into the actions he’s been dying to take for a little while, too. So we get love, some drama that is all too real feeling, new chances, and hope all in one fell swoop. And…..communication! King and Briar actually excel at this, and that makes their story an automatic win to me.

Now I can’t wait to see how things turn out for Nix. He’s earned my interest and he’s definitely earned a chance at happiness now!

Briar is a teacher and she's divorced. She is living at home and she is also trying to save enough money for fertility treatments. So when her friends offers her a nanny position for a famous actor, she is hesitant at first but when she meets Zoe she is totally on board. And her dad is not too bad to look at. Pity he is always so grumpy...

King is not happy about the new nanny, especially since he is immediately attracted to her. But when he sees how good she is with his daughter he knew he will do anything to keep her. And when they start spending late nights together one thing leads to another... And just when it seems he finally gets his happy ending, it all blows up...

I enjoyed the story. I haven't read one of this authors books in a while, and totally enjoyed it. Little Zoe was just too adorable and her dad loved her to no end. King didn't want to get involved with Briar but he just couldn't stop the chemistry. Both of these characters had some issues to work through from previous relationships and adding in King's fame its gonna take some work😊Sweet, loveable slow burn romance with an adorable little girl thrown in the mix☺️❤️

Fighting King (ARC aesthetic)

Thank you to Wildfire Marketing Solutions for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review

I absolutely love this book and the characters. I'm always in a mood for a good single parent book and this was it. Kingston and Briar are such a wonderful couple, with heartbreaking pasts and a future that doesn't seem so bright in their opinion. When Briar starts working as Kingston daughter's nanny their chemistry and lust can't be contained. They try hard not to give in but the truth is that they can't. Watching Briar bond with little Zoe and being a mother figure for her is too beautiful. Kingston is an amazing dad and even if his job as an actor is too demanding he always is there for his daughter. We watch these two get their second chance. Kingston needed Briar as much as she did and watching them fall in love and having their happily ever after was what I was rooting for and was happy to receive it. A must read in my opinion

Book by:Gillian Archer
Tropes:
• Employer x Nanny
• Second chance romance
• Single parent
• Forbidden romance
• Celebrity hero

My rating: 5/5⭐
Spice level: 3,5/5🔥

King needs a nanny he can trust with the most important person in his life and Briar needs a higher paying job after a divorce that left her unsteady. What neither wants is any attraction between the two of them. What is more cliche than the actor and the nanny? But when the nanny is smart and sweet and cares for your daughter like the treasure she is and the actor is the best parent you have ever seen and a man who listens and values all the pierces of you how do you say no? Why would you even want to?

Another fun story that can through just when I needed this type of escapism. I loved the details in this book from what a great father King is to the great bodyguards he hires. They my be minor characters but they add a lot. I also loved that a couple of time ms I thought I knew what was going to happen next and was pleasantly surprised when things went differently. I am really enjoying this series and will be looking for book three when I want something lighter.

Thank you Gillian Archer and Netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Seriously, I should’ve learned by now not to put unread book on a pedestal. Which I did again, with this one.

I was excited to read about nanny vs. single dad romance and I got duped!

There was no feelings whatsoever in this book and the development was shit. Everything happened from 0 to 100 in a matter of two lines. What was up with that?!

Kingston was annoying, an asshole for like half the book with his on-and-off behaviour. The conflict was somehow conveniently caused by a very obvious person.

There was little growth and maturity in the relationship, because like I said, one moment they were angsty lusty the next they were saying I love you.

The ex didn’t even get karma and I think was only mentioned so that the FMC had a backstory. No exploring the obvious trauma in her life.

Overall, this book was very cringe and a sad attempt at nanny single parent romance.

The only bright spot in the book was Zoe.

“When I signed up for this job, I knew I’d do anything to protect Zoe- I just never expected how much I’d want to fight for King.”

Thank you Gillian Archer and NetGalley for this ARC in return for my honest review. “Fighting for King” is the second book in the “Star Studded” series, but can be read as a stand-alone book. Publication Day is on November 17, 2022.

Actor Kingston Grier has been though nanny after nanny trying to find someone who will focus on his daughter, Zoe, instead of focusing on trying to get into his bed. Finally he finds someone who is perfect for the job. The only problem? He can’t keep his eyes off of her. Briar St. Clair’s divorce left her with more than her share of trust issues. Yet she finds herself going from barely talking to her boss to talking to him all night long. When scandals pictures are released of the two and the fallout is more than expected. When Briar took the job she knew she pull do anything to protect Zoe, but now she finds herself wanting to fight for King too.

“Fighting for King” is a fast paced, dual POV romance. The characters were lovable and I devoured this book. It was such a cute an easy read. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a lighthearted romance. I gave “Fight for King” 4 ⭐️’s.

Kingston is looking for a nanny to help take care of his young daughter Zoe. Briar gets convinced by her friend to work as a nanny since she loves children so much.

Briar has trust issues after divorcing her cheating husband and is not looking for love. Kingston is left to take of Zoe after his wife died. Zoe and Briar immediately connect and bond together.
But what happens when there is more than just a connection between Kingston and Briar?

I loved loved the nanny trope and how it was written in this book. It was such a sweet story and it felt real. I could not put the book down and read it in one sitting.

There was just that right amount of drama and low angst to keep you wanting more.

Both characters have gone through a lot and you cannot help but root for them. The side characters in this book are interesting.

The book can be read as a standalone. I had not read book 1 prior to reading this book. I will be reading it though, as I have loved the writing in this book.

I haven’t read much by this author but that’s about to change because I loved everything about single dad Kingston (King) and Briar’s slow burn/friends to lovers journey and as soon as time permits I will be catching up on previous works by the very talented Gillian Archer.
King is in desperate need of a nanny for his daughter Zoe and because of a bitter divorce he is finding it hard to trust and that in turn means he is going through nanny’s every other week. Briar takes the job as a favour and it was only meant to be short term but as she gets to know her boss and he starts opening up, lines get crossed and what starts off as a working relationship soon turns into friendship and eventually so much more……
This book ticked all my boxes, I fell hard and fast for King, I adored Briar but it was Xoe who stole my heart. I swooned, I sighed and I found myself cheering this couple on and hoping they got the HEA they all deserved. A beautifully written sweet yet spicy romance that I highly recommend.

Fighting for King is the second book in the Star Studded Series. You can read this book as a standalone but if you haven’t read Falling for Rome I highly recommend. This story will take you on a roller coaster ride. We see love, the fight, the grit but also unexpected plot twist, and lots family drama. The story line kept me engaged and wanting more. Kingston is an actor, single dad who had a lot of trust issues due to previous circumstances. Briar is a smart, sassy, sexy preschool teacher, soon to be nanny who has also had a tragic past and has given up on Love. They both carried the heavy baggage of their pasts. We see them slowly start to let their walls down, even as they are thrown hurdles left and right. Kingston is just the sweetest, so swoon worthy and Zoe is just a doll. I couldn’t get enough. I loved this slow burn romance. Can’t wait to read Phoenix’s storyline.

I voluntarily reviewed a complementary copy of this book.

I was super excited to read this book after reading the blurb as it has some of my favourite troopes. And I wasn't disappointed. This is the first book I read by the author and I am a fan of her writing style. It was easy to loose myself in their world.

King and Briar won my heart instantly. And Zoe was adorable. They both have been through hell and carry a lot of baggage from their past. I was completely into their story and loved how they fell in love. They had to face their demons to finally get the happiness.

I was in awe with Briar's strength. The way she stood and fought for King and Zoe. And how King was ready to give up everything for Zoe and Briar. I was happy how their families were there to support them.

I loved every moment where Zoe was present. Nix, Mak, Jayne, Joyce and Briar's parents were some of my favourites. I am super excited to read Pheonix book and already counting days.

Thanks to Gillian and WildfireMarketing for an advanced copy.
