This captivating New Adult Fantasy series is intended to be read in order and becomes steamier as the series progresses!
I’m actually obsessed with this series. I love it so much. I will say though I’ve had to take breaks due to being so mad at the characters for not communicating. Lots of issues would have been solved if they all just talked. But this is so so so good
After that cliffhanger from book one, I immediately had to pick this up 😭 Rose and Covenant was exactly what I needed. It picks up right where Curse and Kingdom leaves off and doesn’t waste a second—throwing you straight back into the tension, the mysteries, and the rising stakes. One of the biggest strengths of this book is the expanded POV structure. While the first book only starts to explore multiple perspectives toward the end, this one fully leans into it. And it works so well. Getting direct access to different characters’ inner thoughts adds so much depth—it moves beyond just Marigold’s perception of people and lets you understand who they really are. It’s such a perfect evolution for the story. Seeing everything from multiple angles gave me a whole new appreciation for both the world and the characters. The writing continues to be sharp and full of personality. There’s this perfect balance of humor and sarcasm that never feels forced—it actually reminded me of Katy Brent, where the humor is dry, quick, and incredibly well-timed, even in heavier moments. And once again, the pacing of the reveals is what keeps everything so addictive. You’re constantly being given small pieces—more insight into the curse, the Circle, Marigold’s powers— and each new detail just pulls you deeper into the story. It took me around two weeks to finish this one, but only because of life getting in the way...Every time I picked it back up, it felt like stepping into a world I didn’t want to leave. And honestly… I didn’t want it to end 😭 The last few chapters were such an emotional rollercoaster—so many revelations, so many moments where everything starts clicking into place. I actually slowed down on purpose because I didn’t want to miss anything or leave any detail behind. I didn’t expect to fall this hard for this series. I picked it up randomly during a Stuff Your Kobo day, and now I’m fully obsessed 😭 At this point, I already know I’m getting the physical copies—they deserve a permanent spot on my shelf. I can’t wait to see where Ember Blackthorn takes the story next.

The continuation of Curse &Kingdom 💙 I fell in love with this story after finding a tiny snippet in a Facebook add and have been obsessed ever since! I follow a bit through KindleVella but am absolutely living for the release of each season as individual books 🥰 R&C picked up beautifully (obviously) with Isaac and Esmer being unceremoniously dragged in.
Can we just take a sec to acknowledge how AMAZING Isaac is? This man travel all the way to Goldie’s home just to check on her, then followed her to a literal different world to make sure his friends were safe, and attacked a power tripping sorcerer with a freaking laptop! He’s a badass golden retriever bestie and he deserves all the HEA possible. (I’m looking at you Ember…BE NICE TO ISAAC.)
The developments between Goldie and each of the brothers were intense and so stressful to the point of a certain agreement being made 👀 personally I think it was a mistake but I’m hoping they fix it quick… so much happened and so much is still to come that I can’t wait to keep reading!

This book is rather different from book 1 as the characters' stories unfold and they grow.
Marigold herself is changing with the different circumstances she faces and for the better. But it also brings out other questions and worries.
I enjoyed the book a lot but I feel like the description for the book/series is misleading. There are multiple MMCs and, yes, building relationships with all, yearning, attraction and such, but it is just confusing with the jealousy, the back-and-forth whiplash and the different events uncovering why it has to be this way. I am just not sure that is for me. Also there is some spice but it is more or less just edging and teasing which is driving me nuts haha
This series is more plot driven at times than romance driven and I had to look up what it was labelled as again. I will go on to read book 3, because the story and plot is just too interesting! But it has to pick up for me to not rage finish rather than enjoy.
Loved this book too. I’m glad she didn’t return home forever, I need her with these men. I think the whole story was good, I still don’t know where things are going though so that’s a plus. One thing I noticed about this author is she loves to leave sentences unfinished. Like i understand the suspense and that they will be answered in the future but she does it for like every important conversation, Im getting a little tired of it honestly. Anyway though, I love Alastor but this guy really had to make promises that now he doesn’t want and is ruining my happiness with him and Marigold. I need her to stop numbing herself from him, like he said he loved her!!! Again don’t know what’s to come, although I am excited to see Oak leave, grow and maybe him and Esmer can reconnect🤷🏽♀️. My only worry is that everyone is separated so the blood promise can’t be undone yet…

2.5 ⭐️ In this book, we get a bit more depth from the characters compared to Book 1, though they still feel flat at times. Marigold, who lacked dimension in the first book, shows development in this one, which I appreciated. The story isn’t as well rounded and written as others I have read in this similar category. That aside, I still really enjoyed the uniqueness and originality of this series; and the action never takes a break. One consistent strength is how each book leaves you excited to dive into the next. The final chapters and endings have been the most engaging parts in both books so far. With multiple storylines unfolding, I’m excited to see how everything plays out and look forward to continuing the series.
I’m still really enjoying the second book in the Curse & Kingdom series. Even though this one turns up the heat a bit, it feels even more emotionally layered than the first, which I’ve really appreciated. I’m loving where the plot is headed, and Alistair is definitely my favorite brother so far — there’s just something about his complexity that stands out.
I still don’t fully understand what makes Marigold so special, and that question lingers in the back of my mind. It’s not a huge issue, just a small bugaboo I can’t shake. That said, it’s not enough to take away from how much I’m enjoying the story. I’ll definitely be reading the rest of the series — I just really hope the fifth book doesn’t take too long to come out!
This one would be a 3.5 ⭐ rounded up to a 4 star review for good reads. Book 2 started to give answers that were missing in the first one, and it felt much more stable in terms of trying to accomplish a goal and understanding the journey to get there instead of "where in the world is this book going" lol. The romances between the FMC and the MMCs (yes, plural) also became more defined and it was interesting to read about. Thank God also she has some power and isn't a helpless human. I'm also really happy that this book was left off in a new Kingdom and we somewhat understand the goal moving forward. I'm very excited to read the 3rd book but have to break to read a book for book club.
I’m officially emotionally invested in this series. We learn that one of Marigold’s best friends is holding a rather large secret that changes a lot for her. The men make a (rather stupid) decision that makes everything worse. All the while poor Marigold is just trying to do what she thinks will make everything better for everyone. Nothing is easy for anyone in this story and I’m really not sure about how I want everything to turn out.
The second installment in the series was even better than the first, major props to the author for that achievement. Well written and the characters have depth, I recommend this series so far.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love all the details of Therador; the castles, flowers, dresses. Ember really makes it come alive. I thought there was going to be more action but all the relationships between the characters makes up for it.
I was looking forward to this book after the first one, and though it wasn't quite as good, it definitely didn't disappoint. I thought the first half was pretty slow, but the second half picked up and was a lot of fun.
