When three couples pack their bags to attend an out-of-town funeral, no one anticipates the threats and life-changing circumstances coming their way. The wives have known each other since college, but the husbands are strangers and prefer to keep it that way. The women, however, have different opinions and extend the trip into a long weekend, making a pledge to execute an almost-unthinkable plan. The unending tests of personal strength—physical and mental—demand remarkable resilience. Secrets are revealed, and lives are upended. But whose? And how? Which relationships survive the deception? Do new friendships form, or do marriages end?
After meeting Lou Knight during a local authors event in Georgia, I read her debut novel: The Fallout of Deception. I finished in less than two days which is not usual for me. It did not disappoint! What the cover revealed was intriguing, and the story was so well scripted that my emotions came alive. I either smiled, chuckled, grimaced, cried, or rejoiced with these gals on every page! Lou is a master at character development and her dialogue is spot on; her southern voice spoke to me. Her conclusion of the tale felt perfect! I'm looking forward to her next book. I hear it's called: Shadows from the Past.
Lou Knight has a great storyline and wonderful character development in The Fallout of Deception: A Different Kind of Kidnapping. Few books make me laugh out loud..but this one did and kept me wondering what would happen next to this group of longtime friends. A delightful read! Bravo to Ms. Knight and her first novel! I hope she has more headed our way! This would be fun gift for your best Buddy groups! I highly recommend this book!
This was a really fast and fun read. I’ve never been in a sorority but I do have long time girlfriends with whom I routinely reunite. The story held my attention and kept me engaged. My only small disappointment was in the epilogue where I would have liked a little more follow up on two of the couples.
Great book! Lots of details gain your buy in from the first few chapters. Twists and turns throughout keep you reading longer than expected. I had a hard time putting it down. Highly recommend.
