It’s the most wonderful time of the year… that is, aside from the murder.
The only thing Anna is looking forward to more than the holiday festivities in Seagull Cove is her cousin Connie's visit for Christmas. However, a series of events on Connie’s first evening in town finds the two entangled in a murder mystery.
Meanwhile, with help from Connie and Jeremy, Anna’s search for Bella leads her to an assisted living facility, where Bella may still work.
Angela K. Ryan is the author of the Sapphire Beach Cozy Mystery Series, the Seaside Ice Cream Shop Mysteries, and the Cape Cod Cozy Mysteries. She writes clean, feel-good cozies for readers who love humor, lots of twists and turns, and happy-dance endings.
When she is not writing, Angela enjoys the outdoors, especially kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, snowshoeing, and skiing. She lives in Massachusetts and loves all four of the New England seasons, but she looks forward to regular escapes to the white, sandy beaches of southwest Florida, where her mother resides.
It is fitting that Angela’s series take place in fictitious seaside towns in Massachusetts and Florida. These small towns would be idyllic if it weren’t for all the bodies that keep turning up!
Angela dreams of one day owning a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel like the sweet pup in her Sapphire Beach Series, but she isn’t home enough to take care of one. So, for now, lives vicariously through one of her main characters, Connie.
This is the first book by this author that I have read, so maybe that is the reason I didn't enjoy it as much was I thought I would. For me the story focused to much on a long running mystery that I knew nothing about and it didn't get solved. The main mystery did get solved but as it seemed more like the filler with only a handful of suspects it was not surprising. I did like the characters but even that was confusing because they are obviously well established and a lot of them. It is a Christmas cosy so fun if you want help feeling christmasy but maybe read the previous first. With her sister missing, presumed dead by everybody else, Christmas is hard for Anna. Which is why her cousin is coming to stay with her and continue the hunt. Instead the pair end up getting involved in a murder investigation when a woman is found dead under a Christmas tree. Anna discovered the body just moments after somebody held her up to steal her ice cream. Could the two be related? Or because she worked in a jewellery shop? Can Anna and find the killer and a sister that doesn't want to be found?
An Awesome Christmas Present The only thing Anna is looking forward to more than the holiday festivities in Seagull Cove is her cousin Connie's visit for Christmas. However, a series of events on Connie’s first evening in town finds the two entangled in a murder mystery. She wasn't through investigating the supposed death of her sister. She didn't know how but she was going to prove her sister was alive. The death of a woman has to be solved. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book.
Anna and her cousin Connie solve murder mysteries in the towns they live in and this time they have teamed up just before Christmas to solve a murder. There are several suspects and as they interview them and narrow down the field of suspects they only have a few left. Of course there is a twist at the end and the true murderer emerges. Rehearsals looking for Anna's sister that faked her death five years earlier. They keep coming so close, but she keeps eluding them. Looking forward to the next book.
Just dropping in the middle of the series with this Christmas cozy, but it didn’t matter because I was immediately engaged in the story and enmeshed in the world. The thing that impressed me the most was the fact that there were two different mysteries going on at the same time with one seemingly being an overarching one while the other was more current and had more Yuletide flavors to it. They were done really well and kept my interest on both. I loved the whole ice cream shop theme. There were just so many great vibes I had reading this. I had a really fun time with them.

I love a great mystery. Only thing is I want to try Peppermint Stick ice cream. Lol. Big family of friends and relatives join for Christmas Eve dinner at the ice cream shop. Two plots, one who was the murderer and where is Anna’s sister? Luckily Connie, Anna’s cousin, helped her through out the story. Great holiday read.
The cousins are amateur sleuths trying to solve a murder mystery. Also continuing mystery thru series makes me curious to read prior and future books. Enjoyed it!
Will Anna locate her missing sister Bella in time for Christmas? Cousin Connie joins Anna for the holidays and winds up helping her solve another murder and get closer to finding Bella too. I can't get enough of this series and look forward to the next book.
It was an enjoyable book, although there were many errors throughout that should have been picked up on the proof reading which I found distracting. A good storyline and otherwise an easy read.
