You know the story, love. It’s a tale as old as time itself. Boy meets girl. Boy loses girl. Girl meets devilishly charming bastard who tempts with her everything she’s ever dreamed of—and the Devil doesn’t make promises he can’t keep. You see, darling, that boy never deserved you to begin with. You, my treasure, you deserved the entire world laid out at your dainty little feet—and so much more. No ungrateful, simple-minded boy could ever give you that. But I could. I will. My Evie. My eternal love. Only creature on God’s green earth, Heaven above it or even Hell below, who could ever stir the flames of desire into my my cold, sinner’s heart. I stole you from that pathetic moron you were calling a fiancé again, it’s true. But after the way he messed you over—frankly, this time, it was like he was asking for it. You were never really his, love. He might have put his ring on your finger, but he never owned your body. Your heart. Your mind. Your soul. No matter where you are, what you look like, the name you wear, or the color of that fire dancing in your eyes, you’re mine. Always mine. You’ve been mine before, more times than you’ll ever remember. You’ve been torn away from me more times than you’ll ever know. Now that you’re finally mine again, here’s a new promise for This time, it’s forever. I have an army of the damned at my beck and call, more gold to my name than even kings can fathom, the powers of a fallen angel at my fingertips and the command of the Inferno itself in the palm of my hand. Never fear, love. I’ll protect you. I’ll keep you safe. Whether you want it or not. And this time, if anyone dares to try and take you away from me again… This time, there’ll be hell to pay.
Roxie Ray is a group of writer friends who love to write Sci Fi Alien Romance and Paranormal Romance. They love to talk, read and write this lovely genre. They hope you love their books and strive to make sure you have a steamy, wonderful experience!
This story is a complex paranormal romance centred around a devil theme, featuring the intriguing premise of being loved throughout life times and a fight with angels and demons. The narrative is unpredictable, effectively delivering a complete and engaging storyline within a concise format. Readers are likely to find themselves drawn into the plot, eagerly anticipating each twist and turn. Key elements of this immersive tale encompass themes of fated mates—an irresistible pull that transcends time—alongside good and evil, angels and Lucifer. The air is thick with magic, action, and palpable tension, while family dynamics add another layer of complexity to the relationships at play. The male protagonist emerges as a quintessential Alpha—exuding sexiness, dominance, and a fierce possessiveness that heightens the romantic and dramatic stakes of the narrative. As the story unfolds, it blend of passion, intrigue, and supernatural wonders.
“You are more valuable to me than any amount of gold…”
I would have given this book four stars except it turns out this isn’t the entire story. This is a cliffhanger and there are two more books before it ends. Nothing in the blurb indicated this was a cliffhanger. I would have never signed up for the ARC if I had known, either. It’s too bad because otherwise it’s a good book. I really liked Luke even if he is one of the most arrogant heroes I’ve ever read. He’s super hot, very dominant and extremely exciting. Seriously, I just loved him! Evie isn’t the best heroine as she’s too indecisive and kind of whiny. To be honest I don’t know what he sees in her but perhaps she improves in the second and third books. Since this isn’t the entire story I can’t comment one way or the other.
I’m a bit annoyed with the authors. I’ve always liked Roxie Ray and while their books have always been part of a series they were still each stand alone. I’ve noticed since re-releasing books they had previously published under one of their other pen names we are suddenly getting cliffhangers. The first two were released as a box set so at least we got the whole story together. But this is the second time I’ve been tricked into reading just the first part with the rest not even available. I guess I’m going to have to start holding off on reading anything that is a re-release and only read new books. Fortunately book four of the wonderful Secret Shifters Next Door series in due in December. I’ll just have to wait patiently for that one.
If you are ok with a cliffhanger and waiting for the remaining two parts to be published some undisclosed time in the future, then this is a good book. While Evie isn’t that great Luke is pretty wonderful and makes up for her shortcomings. The story is very interesting and different. If all three parts had been bundled together I’d have no problem recommending it. But with only one available, unfortunately I just can’t.

I feel like I have read a very similar story to this one.
The Plot- Eve/Lilith is reincarnated throughout the years and is Lucifers mate. There's a treaty in place, a we can't kill you/you can't kill us situation but we can arrange accidents that cause Eve's death type of treaty.
The angels want to kill Eve, they've been doing so since the creation. If Eve is brought to hell against her will the treaty is broken and they can kill her. So obviously the angels are trying to find a loophole so they can kill Eve.
My Thoughts-
I hated this version of Lucifer, and the loophole the angels found is valid.
I love spicy books but this was just too much and inappropriately/awkwardly placed spice. I skipped over every scene after the first few chapters because it was bad. Most of it detracted from the story.
I'm not keen on finishing out the rest of the 5 books in the series to be honest. Lucifers character was that much of a turn off for me.

This is my new favorite Roxie Ray book! You know a book with the Devil as the H is going to be a good time but this was a delicious, steamy book with twists and turns and a story line that kept me interested. It starts with Evie waking up after her bachelorette party in Luke’s room and married not to her fiancé Adam. The creativity of the authors in the war between heaven and hell and the parallels that were written. I could not recommend this book more.

Eve wakes up with Luke aka Lucifer, a wedding and no memory of the night before. He tells her who he is but she thinks he is joking. Just as he is trying to help her regain her memories threats to them start. So, he has to protect them against the threat or lose Eve again. Will Luke finally get Eve?
This is a great story that will have you shaking your head at parts. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.
