As Ink watched his president fall for a woman, he’s thrilled to realize that he’s sure he’s found his too. Even better news is the two women are best friends. Everything looks to be perfect. Or it does until Ink realizes Alisse isn’t willing to give him the time of day.
He’s spent months trying to get her to give him a chance. She keeps shooting him down with allegations of him being a man who can’t commit to one woman. She accuses him of only wanting conquests, not a real, lasting relationship.
Ink has had enough when he finds his woman has gone out on a date with another man. This leads to a confrontation followed by someone trying to take her at gunpoint. The club still has enemies out there. Is it them? Or is it someone else?
Meanwhile, Ink discovers that Alisse and he have a past he doesn’t recall. It answers a lot of questions and leads him to being able to convince her to give him a real chance.
Just as Alisse gives in to Ink’s pleas, his past walks back in the door. Alisse is afraid of what this means for them. A secret is revealed, and this causes only more worry and strife. Is it the truth or a lie?
Meanwhile, her life isn’t her own, as the club keeps her and her best friend under guard. As more dangerous things happen, the club is forced to consider that the enemy they were worried about might not be the enemy who is determined to take Alisse away from Ink.
Thankfully, the club isn’t willing to stop until they get the culprit, remove the threats, and get an answer to a mystery. All Ink is praying for is to be able to fully claim and love his Whirlwind forever.
An avid reader with a passion for romances that finally got the chance to write one of her own. The rest is history. Not what anyone thought for someone who has been a nurse and in healthcare management for years.
I sit writing as my two fur babies, my pugs Kujo and Khaos, impatiently wait for me to get done so they can lay on me as their human sofa!
My children are finally considered to be adults, so it's me, the hubby and the dogs.
I'm a iced tea drinking fiend who has insomnia, more ideas than I know what to do with, and a need to write them down.
Not too bad for a girl from rural Ohio in the foothills of Appalachia that grew up in a town of about 4000 people.
Another fantastic book by the amazing Ciara St James. I absolutely love this world....I want to know there with these people! This book is action packed and had me engaged from the very beginning!! Loved it!!!!
Ink has wanted Alisse since they met. He has pursued her hard, but Alisse keeps shutting him down every chance she gets. After finding out she is on a date with another man, Ink has hit his limit. He wants to know why she won't give him a chance and what he discovers is confounding.
Alisse is worried about giving Ink a chance, he is known as a player but when he gives her the answers she has long wanted, everything changes. As Alisse and Ink begin building their future, the past comes back making it difficult to move forward. Can Alisse believe Ink about trusting in him?
Great story, I was curious how this book would play out. I liked Ink, felt bad for him when he was trying to win over Alisse. Another great book in this series.
You knew Ink was interested in Alisse from the last book. I thought it would take him longer to win Alisse over, but glad it didn't. Their past was interesting, especially as it came back into play. Both of them played things the right way, standing together as a united front and expose all the rotten lies to everybody. I liked how this one ended, liked seeing everyone happy at the end.
I am loving this series. Not that it is surprising as I have liked every one of Ciara St James books I have read so far.
It seems this series is written that the books could be read as a stand alone, but of course reading them in order you get to know all the characters and everything that has happened to date.
Since this is just the second book, there are only two Ol' Ladies so far, I think it's going to be fun to see each man fall as it goes on as well as handling fatherhood if/when it happens.
Ink’s Whirlwind is the second installment in Ciara St. James’ Iron Punishers MC series. In it, she chronicles the romantic journey of Alisse and Ink. Readers met these two as secondary characters in the first book. Ink knows immediately that he is smitten by Alisse and wants her as his Old Lady, wife, and mother of his future children. Alisse, on the other hand, has deep reservations. She knew years ago when he dated her cousin, Amber. Amber cheats on Ink, who was known as Austin, but turns the table on him by making herself the innocent victim. Years later, this lie makes it a challenge for Ink to win Alisse’s heart. As they grow closer, someone is targeting Alisse. Is it remenants of the Soldiers of Corruption MC? Could it be Alex, the guy who dated her and becomes obsessed with her? Does Amber and her parents play a role in these attempts to fatally harm Alisse? To find out, you must read this book.
Like the first book in this series, this plot captures a dual prong plot line. One prong being the romance and the second being the search for the culprits behind the attacks to kill Alisse. Ms. James pens a delightful romance with strong multi-layered lead characters. Her lead characters are strong, determined, confident yet vulnerable. I enjoyed their growth as the story progressed. I liked the strong dialog. I appreciated the dual point of view to tell their back stories. Ms. James use of descriptive language paints vivid scenes. Looking forward to the reading the next book in this series.
Whirlwind, action-packed MC romance Ink's Whirlwind (Iron Punishers MC Book 2) by Ciara St. James is another exciting MC romance. I have fallen - hook, line and sinker for all things MC romance by this author. The Iron Punishers, an ally MC to the original MC of this author brings drama and love to the second MC alpha to fall. Ink meets Alisse through his MC President's old lady, Cheyenne. As best friend of Cheyenne, and her safety on the line, Alisse is protected by association and living on the compound. The more significant connection is that Alisse and Ink were acquaintances in the past, but Ink doesn't remember. On top of that, Alisse's perception of Ink and his past actions are wrong! Their dynamic is slow to start, but the underlying tension of attraction and desire builds to the point of distraction and finally having a much needed conversation. The plot of course includes the building and development of Ink and Alisse's feelings. While Alisse is skeptical, Ink is all in and pursues Alisse without delay. While Ink is trying to lock down Alisse, antagonism is afoot putting her in danger and driving Ink crazy with worry, keeping him and his Club on high alert. Overall, this book features yet another fantastic romantic couple with plenty of heat and heart. The alpha Hero wins his lady love; her heart, mind, body and soul with unwavering support and understanding to build her up love, adoration and devotion. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
I really like this author. I’ve been reading her books in order of publication and this is the first one I’ve DNF. The biggest problem is there’s no chemistry whatsoever between Ink & Alisse. There’s no explanation for why Ink is obsessed with Alisse. I assume that’s because we miss out on their first meeting and impression of each other. By the time this book starts, they’ve known each other for 4 months and Ink is inexplicably head over heels for no apparent reason because Alisse as she is written is extremely unappealing. She comes across as extremely judgmental. I actually liked her in Reaper’s book so don’t know what happened to change her. I Dnf after their first intimate encounter when she was super dominant over him. A dominant female is a hard pass for me. I need a more shy/naive heroine. And the male lead needs to be an alpha male. Ink came across as submissive and Alisse was much too dominant and that just didn’t appeal to me. It also made no sense he’d fall for her based on her appearance - she was described physically as the opposite of what he typically likes. I’ve always finished the books in this series just to at least continue the overarching/intersecting storylines but I was so uninterested in this book and put off by the heroine that even that wasn’t enough to make me want to read this book. Really hoping this is the only dud and I can finish the other books by this author.
I was so bummed when I learned that there wasn't a 3rd Iron Punishers book yet! I just finished Ink's Whirlwind and was going to dive right into book 3. Oh well, I'll be first in line when the next book is released.
Ink and Alisse are a great couple. They have some drama, but they generally handle it like mature adults. Alissa doesn't get on the Ink train right away, but when she does, she's all in. That being said, this isn't a slow burn book. There's lots of good lovin'for a good portion of the story.
Ink is the dream--gorgeous, alpha and a little impulsive, but all in to be a great family man. He learns to rein in some of his jealousy, temper and impulsiveness to be the man Alisse needs.
Alissa is great book girlfriend. I developed a little crush on her. She's quite able to handle herself and doesn't take any disrespect, but she accepts Ink for the man he is at his core. Together, she and Ink learn to communicate well with each other. They say the hard things to each other when necessary and they have each other's backs.
And yeah, there's plenty of steam between these two throughout the book. Seriously, you'll need some anti-fog spray if you wear glasses.
At least 50% is sex, yet again! Skipped a lot of it as it’s boring!
Ink/ Austin has been after Alisse for months, but she won’t give him the time of day. Until she explains to him why she thinks he’s a cheater. Once he clears that up they go onto having sex constantly and I mean constantly. It takes a lot to gross me out about sex scenes, but this book accomplished that achievement. The way that he talks to her during sex is gross! And if they’re so turned on during sex, how are they able to have a full conversation?????
When an attacker appears to be after Alisse, the Mc vow to protect her and the women are still locked down, and still only work two days a week. As I said about the first book, how is the doctor managing without two of her staff?? As this lockdown has been going on for months!
I did enjoy it, mostly. But there a few unanswered questions, for example, who did the shooting at the beginning of the book? What happened to Alisse’s date who vows to win her back? It’s a light read, and sometimes I like a lighter book, where the man is 100% convinced that she’s his woman, and there’s no will it work or not.
Recommend. This was my second book by this author and the female lead was much more believable. She took more time to make sure the relationship was a good fit and that he could be trusted. Ink was a bit sappy with his constant sweet taking, saying I love you over and over and saying how much he liked to cuddle. You can definitely tell this book was written from a female perspective. A lot of sex. It seems like the author was sharing what she that all women wanted in a partner. Personally, I like my men a little tougher and brooding. I also wanted to see the couples develop more of a relationship outside the sex. It is frustrating that they introduced Alex as a potential villain and then just dropped his story line. There was also a discrepancy about the gender of Chey and Reaper’s baby. I have other thoughts about the true villains but don’t want to spoil it for others.
The format is similar to the first book. Biker falls heavily for a girl who has some sort of danger looming. Girl resists (briefly) until biker changes her mind and problem is resolved. Oh...and lots of sex. In fact the story seems to come second to the sex.
The dialogue between the two main characters is yawningly boring. How many ways can a biker tell her in so many sugary, sloppy ways how he feels, how many babies he wants with her, wants to do to her etc. Surely the author has better word skills and imagination than this. I assume book 3 will follow a similar format.
Errors occurred near the end. Information was passed to the police 'unanimously' instead of anonymously and the gender of Reaper and Cheyenne's unborn baby seems to have changed, even though in book one they chose to wait until the baby was born to discover the gender.
I cannot tell you how thrilled I was that we returned to the Iron Punishers so quickly! I couldn't wait to dive into Ink and Alisse's story. Ink has to work for Alisse's love and he doesn't hesitate to roll up his sleeves and do just that. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated his wholehearted devotion to her. While she was operating with a false idea about him, he didn't give up. She had to work through her family's toxic behavior towards her. But she becomes that much stronger for it, along with Ink' love and the MC family that comes with him. This MC is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorites! All the stars for Alisse and Ink!
Apparently there is no proof-reader. Ink and Alisse find out they're pregnant and Ink hopes it's a boy so Chey and Reaper's baby can be friends as they're having a boy. But in the last chapter of previous book, we find out that Reaper and Chey had a girl - Lily Marie. And Chey and Reaper hadn't found out the sex prior - they wanted to be surprised. No consistency of facts. Friend Mark was supposed to get into the bad gang and get things fixed. But we never hear what happened. Now Ogre and Slither are in prison and Mark is in a coma. Just big chunks missing. Things like this between book 1 and 2. We'll see what book 3 brings.
This was a great book! I love the characters and the connection they all share. It’s one big family, and I love seeing them interact with each other.
The only slight problem I had with the book was I felt like the Alex storyline wasn’t resolved. Maybe that just means he’ll show up in another book down the line but the guy is delusional. After one “date” he’s decided she’s going to be his but after he lets Ink know this he just goes away never to be heard from again? I feel like with him obsessively calling and texting her that he wouldn’t stop based on his escalating behavior. So, plot hole aside, I still enjoyed the book.

Ink’s Whirlwind is the second book in the Iron Punishers MC series and follows Ink as he tries to win over Alisse who is super resistant to starting a relationship with Ink due to his previous wild ways.
After seeing the start of the merry chase that Alisse set Ink on in the previous book, I really enjoyed this book and following their journey together. I loved both of the main characters in the book and I loved the bit of history they found together. The story kept me reading on and I didn’t see the twist at the end coming which made me happy.
Overall, this was a really good read and one that I would recommend.
Ciara St. James has hit a homerun out of the park with Ink's and Alisse's love story! Their's is a passionate relationship with plenty of steam. For Ink this was an insta-love connection. Alisse had known him as a teenager and had always had a crush on him. But his reputation was tarnished in her eyes with false information so she took months to warm up to him. They do experience some angst. Someone from their shared past poses a threat toward Alisse and it makes for some action and drama. As I always do with Ciara's books, I loved this romance and was rewarded with a happily ever after.
I chose this rating because this was a pretty good book. I really enjoyed pretty much all of the characters. This was a book of protection, understanding, compassion, kindness, and doing what is good for you and all around you. I enjoyed Ink and Alisse story. I think the author did a great job putting these two characters together. Ink was very protective of his lady, so when a threat came to her he was there to take care of it. Someone from their past came knocking on their door. She was determined to mess their relationship up, but they had something for her that would knock her socks off. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers and MC lovers.
Ciara is an amazing author and book 2 does not disappoint. From the moment Alisse arrives at the club with her best friend Cheyenne, Ink is hooked, she is his one and only. But Alisse calls him a man whore and keeps him at bay for reasons that become apparent as you get more involved in the story. Even though their chemistry is something every couple dreams of she fights the attraction but Ink keeps on trying and slowly starts to break through. Nothing is ever easy as they have to deal with Alisse’s crazy family, danger, MC business and so much more. Another great read and highly recommend.
I thoroughly enjoyed the main characters. I liked the relationship dynamics between Ink and Alisse with her being biracial, and not making that fact a focal point in the story. It was intimated and barely mentioned, but we understood her immediate family-makeup. Luv'd this book, and the whole series. It would be interesting if there is a 'next generation' for the club and to see Christian grow up and join the Iron Punishers MC. Just putting it out there in the universe... Lol😃
Ink & Alisse's story was full of drama, lots of suspense, and worth reading all the way til the end! I swear I wished I could reach into this imaginary world myself and slap Amber for being such an evil human! I'm so thankful these books have HEA because anything less than that would gut me after reading so many of these stories lol.
Ciara St James's creative writing & storylines just keep getting better with each book. She knows how to keep her readers so engaged and coming back for more! And I'll be definitely back to read more books of hers! Happy Reading!
I love how Ink kept knocking all of Alisse's walls down. In so many MC books the bunnies cause problems like JoJo does in this book but I was happy to see Alisse wasn’t taking any sh*t from her and put her in her place!! Alisse's family was unbelievably crappie all around. Ink loved her know matter what they thought of her and she stuck with him through Amber's bullshit. Once again Ciara hits it out of the park absolutely another amazing book!!
Another great series. Ciara is an amazing author. Being pulled into the story right along with the characters. I was laughing, crying and raging right with them. Ink and Alisse has the chemisty every couple dream for. They fight to keep it growing. They deserve the HEA they got. Cant wait to see who's next to fall in the Iron Punishers. Keep them coming Ciara. I have loved every series you have put out. MC or other.
From the moment Alisse came to the club with her best friend Chey Ink was hooked, she was his ibe and only. But Alisse called him a man whore. There was a pass history Ink forgot. Like their friends the Punishers are falling one by one. This story shows the reader the love between Ink and Alisse. Family doesn't have to be blood and the author showed that in this book. Bring on the next one
Wow this was another great story. I really hate the way Alisse's family treated her because of being mixed race. Total snobs and ignorant. Ink actually dated her cousin Amber years ago until he found out she was cheating on him with several other guys. Amber is one of those that thinks she all that. Her and her mom and dad even went so far as to try to kill Alisse twice. Morons thought they wouldn't get caught. Alisse got the last laugh. Happy reading.
Second book in the Iron Punishers MC. When ink sees his President fall hard. He wants that so bad he can taste it. Alisse is best friend to his President ol lady. He sees her every day and she ignores him like crazy. Till one day his brothers let him know she’s on a day with someone other then him. He goes crazy and tell her how he feels. After the bomb Alisse tell him he’s ready to set her straight. She his women and that’s that!!
This could have been an amazing book instead I had to force myself to finish. Really don't care for the authors writing style. She writes as if a seventh grader were reading the story. Everything is very simple and the ideas are not expressed in a mature manner. I keep trying her books. A few were good Bulls Duchess was Very good. But i can't finish the iron punishers. Its to bad because it really has potential to be a great series. 🙁
This is the second book in this impressive series and this storyline is a great addition. This is a well written story which has family, friendships , intrigue, challenges, humour, witty banter, romance, and love which all leads to an entertaining and spicy addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Ink has a hard time getting his lady to love him back the way he loves her. Then when things seem to be going well the past comes back to haunt them both. Ink’s Whirlwind has a tough time with this and Ink hopes it won’t damage his chances at a future with his love.
