Skimming is the way to go. The writing leans towards wordy and redundant. It came to a natural end(like book over) twice before it finally did end(and out of the 3, the actual ending is the worst)
Not a fan of how Lucy was written. You can make a character plus sized/curvy/chubby(actual descriptors used) without it becoming their defining personality trait. It's annoying when it's brought up multiple times in ways that don't make sense. Also if Derrick is 6'5" ish and she's a foot and a half shorter, how are we describing her legs as long? The same way we described her waist as a tiny indent between her big boobs and big ass?
Derrick is also in his 90s and she's in her early 20s.
It felt like someone was more interested in writing a whole bunch of exposition throughout, rather than develop a plot. Sex scenes included.
There is a weird out of nowhere (in a bad way) confrontation that starts and ends in the same chapter toward the end. I have no clue why it was there. Probably as set up for a longer conflict in books to follow.

It's probably supposed to seem like a HEA ending. It bummed me out. Lucy is in her early 20s, homeless and abused throughout her whole life, ends up pregnant within a month. She couldn't have some time to enjoy having a mate? A pack? A home? Feeling safe enough to develop her own interests? Nope. Becoming pregnant with triplets is the way we're going.
For me that sucks. And is further proof CD Gorri might have written the character but does not like her/wrote her as a thing not a person.

Shake That Sass: Sassy Ever After (Dire Wolf Mates Book 1) by C.D. Gorri this is a wonderful start to a brand new series and I am so in love with it so much that I can not wait to read the next book. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about Sci-Fi, contemporary and paranormal romances.

Cats and dogs don’t mix or do they? Lucy Corwyn is a Bobcat Shifter and Derrick Rand is an Alpha Dire Wolf and fate has declared them mates. But Lucy isn’t going down without a fight. Lucy is sweet and sassy and nobody’s fool. Derrick is hot and Alpha and a bit used to getting his way. I loved this steamy tale and look forward to future installments.

Derrick is the Alpha of his pack of Dire Wolves which are a prehistoric wolf much larger than the normal wolf. They just want to live in peace and have found a new home and are opening a bar. Lucy is a bobcat shifter who's car breaks down and she now needs a job to pay for the repairs so she goes to the bar to try and get a job. Surprise the Alpha is her fated mate but he's going to have to work for it she's not going to just roll over. I loved it and think you will too.

I had no doubt this series would start strong. Ms. Gorri seems to be able to every time. Alpha Dire Wolf, Derrick, wants to make a home in Blue Creek with is pack. They are ready to settle and find their mates. Lucy, a bobcat shifter, has no place to call home. Stranded in Blue Creek, could be luck or fate. If she can accept Derrick as her mate. With a wall around her heart, he will need to be patient. Derrick and Lucy work wonderfully together. He can handle any 'Sass' she brings with extreme care. The secondary characters, can't wait for them to meet their mates. Extremely enjoyable romance for all shifter lovers.

Loved this shifter story. Derrick is a Dire wolf, a prehistoric wolf and Lucy is a feline hybrid shifter, a mountain lion and she Cat shifter. Lucy resembles a mountain lion but is tiny compared to them. When Derrick meets Lucy one look and sniff and he knows she is his mate. But Lucy has huge trust issues and will not allow a man to take over her life. Lucy may have trust issues but she is the sassiest woman that Derrick has ever met and he will do anything to make her his own. I loved this story, fast and steamy, and Lucy and Derrick are great together. Loved this wonderful read.

Shake That Sass is the first book in the Dire Wolf Mates series & set in the Sassy Ever After universe. In it we meet dire wolf shifter Derrick & bobcat shifter Lucy & follow them on their road to happily ever after.
Derrick is the alpha of his pack of dire wolf shifters. Tired of the nomadic life of his kind, he & his pack hope they've finally found a home in Blue Creek. And just maybe they'll find their mates there, too.
Lucy is a bobcat shifter. On her own with no place to call home she's passing thru Blue Creek when her old car breaks down. With no money to fix her car, she decides to look for a job at a local bar. She never imagined that she'd meet her mate there.
I've enjoyed a few of CD Gorri's books & since this one is set in Milly Taiden's Sassy Ever After world, I didn't hesitate to give it a try. It was a very good decision. The characters are interesting & likeable with a supporting cast that helps move things along nicely. The story line is well crafted & fits in nicely in the Sassy world. All in all, I look forward to the second book in this new series.

I had the great pleasure of reading Foster by CD Gorri and let me tell you it’s a must read, if you live shifter books!! It’s the beginning ( hope so anyway) of a new shifter series with ancient wolfs. This one had an feline fated mate. I’m holding my breath to see what happens next with this group of ancient wolf pack!

Beautiful and Full of Sass
Have to admit Lucy is now a favorite character of mine. She just knows what she wants and she goes out and gets it. She has no problem putting Derrick in his place to do it either. These two are just perfect for each other. Head strong and stubborn.
You find yourself getting lost in the pages. So many times you find yourself laughing at something that Lucy will say. But don't fret this book will give you lots of steam and hunky actions, just wait.
Can't wait to read more books about this Dire Wolf pack from Blue Creek.

Lucy and Derrick were two very strong, loyal, sexy as hell characters that make the perfect Alpha mates.. This was an awesome start to a new series.. Can't wait to see who is next to find their fated mate and what kind of trouble they cause..

This is the 4th book I've read written by C.D. Gorri; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

It is destiny when these two get together.

Refreshing, playful, funny, sexy, hot, sass, breathtaking, perfect, explosive.
A beautifully written book that took my breath away several times. Derrick and Lucy made an amazing couple.
This is how I imagine a paranormal romance where there's love, tension, fun, romance, lovemaking and brilliantly written lead characters. I'm looking forward to continuing.

Lucy has gotten as far as she could thanks to her clunker and has to work to get money to fix it. What she hadn't planned on was the Alpha taking notice.
Derrick knows the minute she steps into his office who and what she is.
He won't push her though. He knows when it comes to the fates he doesn't have to.

Blue Creek will never be the same
I love this author’s induction into this new series. Not only does she bring us a lonely kitty full of sass, but she brings us 7 dire wolves ready to settle down and find their mates. (Hopefully that means 6 more stories) I truly enjoy the way this author slowly builds the story while introducing us to the characters, it makes them seem so real and invests us in their future. Especially with Lucy, that is one sassy kitty who is going to keep Derrick on his toes for many years to come. I think you will enjoy this book as much as I did, and now the wait begins for the next book. I hope it won’t be too long.

Book one in the Dire Wolf Mates series a well written story with a great storyline the story flowed smoothly across the pages. Lucy Corwyn is a Bobcat Shifter her car breaks down in Blue Creek she needs somewhere to sleep and is sent to the new biker bar in town, Serious Moonlight. Lucy meets Derrick Rand who is an Alpha Dire Wolf and they find out they are mates. I enjoyed reading how these two get their happy ending. I want to read the next book in the series. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
