Wendy Marin thinks Fitz Higgins is the devil reincarnated. Fitz thinks Wendy is an angel on earth. So when they’re forced to participate in a piano competition together, it’s Wendy’s worst nightmare, whilst simultaneously being Fitz’s dream come true. It means he has a chance to win her over. If you like the sound of one-sided-hate-to-lovers (and slow dancing to Taylor Swift), then Nothing to Everything is the book for you! (Warning: this book contains scenes unsuitable for people under the age of 18.)
Maia Aaron is a lover of all things love, and that includes romance novels, which is why she decided to write her own! Ugh this was such a cute book!! Heart eyes for Fitz & Wendy 😍 it was a quick and easy read, just what I needed! Even though the plot was lacking a bit, I still found it interesting and funny as shit. Also the epilogue????? Absolutely perfect, no other words to describe it.
Sorry no. Why was it so fast? Where was the plot? The tension? Nothing to everything? Nothing to nothing. He gave me the ick. I love a man who can tell me how he feels but not that. No thanks :)
It has been a while since I last wrote a review haha! I definitely missed doing them! So, I thank this book so much for getting me out of my reading slump in which I've been struggling and dealing with lately haha.
Anyways, This book right here!!!! OMG! This is the fluff-angst that I badly need haha. The angst made me cried a bit. Made me pondered about forgiveness; That it is not something that you can rush out from a person to give it to you even in death. That forgiveness is letting go, and letting go, is about being able to move forward in life, without anything that has been drowning you back into those ugly memories.
This also has an enemies to lovers trope (one-sided from h's side) she also thought that the H hate her from the get-go but in fact he was so down bad lmao like he was so obsessed with her. Even admitting it to himself multiple times. I love both of their inner monologues too! It gives us a point of view of both their struggles and thoughts that shapes them as a whole, and solidifies and builds their characters up very well.
H fell hard and harder. This book was obviously written by a woman>>(in the best way possible) because omg he was literally the definition of a BOOK BOYFRIEND!
For me this has some kind of reverse grunpy trope but the sunshine being the H is exclusively for the heroine only since H is quiet with others. But not in the sense of "I hate everyone but you" I also love how the h was written here imperfectly perfect, like how flawed her life was especially with her complicated relationship w her mother (if you even can call that a relationship and if you even call her mother a mom bc tbh??? her MOTHER is not MOTHERING!!) I really love how h was reserved and then let herself go in the presence of the Hero like, she let herself -feel-. And that is so freeing~ I highly recommend this one!!! This is a short yet fluffy-angsty read that would make you have a hangover with in the morning, but it is the good kind of hangover; something that you would miss and decide to feel again so you would go back for more, for a second time. - Well, that is in my case, I think, I describe how it made me feel enough since I went back and read it a second time haha-
Safety Details:
- Extremely Safe, Both Virgins who has only ever been with each other. Not each other's first kisses though :) - No OP drama - 4/5 smut - HEA with two epilogues 3 years after and ten years after - Married with one kid and another on the way!
The second book to this was about both h and H's bestfriends respectively. The h and H there were both non-virgins and has mentions of their "sex life" a little bit much in this book. I think that would be angsty!
I hope you all enjoy reading this as much as I did! Definitely, Highly recommended!
I wanted to love this book. I really did. I made it to chapter 13 and I knew that I wouldn't be that heart broken I'm not knowing what happens next.
The first 10 chapters could've easily been 20+ chapters. We were missing so many scenes. We were basically told that they practiced for 6 months together then that they practiced for 1 month together. Then 2 weeks. But weren't shown them practicing. The dynamic complicated relationship that we were being told about? We weren't shown. The mother seems to be like only a 2D character. Wendy is annoying in terms of she can't get over the "I hate him, he hates me" inner monologue. Fitz is a shy boy who can also dirty talk like no other, doesn't work out but can carry her up a hill without breaking a sweat, reads smut, knows how to crochet, plays Taylor Swift on the piano, etc like I'm sorry but I don't think anyone can suspend reality that good to get behind this character. And not to mention that he's just obsessed with her. That's it. There's a whole dialogue about why he thinks she's amazing but because we weren't shown all the qualities he's talking about, it felt very cliche.
I just really wish this was executed better cause I'm here for the plot.
I really hated the h in the first 50% of this book….like realllllly bad. She was so mean to the H, and while I understand she had issues, she was just so mean to him. Thankfully she got over it and was better, but man she was a witch in the beginning idk why he even liked her
Nothing to Everything is a thoroughly enjoyable romance with actually likeable main characters, that does a great job of exploring sensitive topics such as parental neglect and anxiety, while also demonstrating realistic character growth and good communication (yay for all of us who hate the miscommunication trope!).
Fitz is my new favourite book boyfriend omg!!! Some of my favourite quotes:
* “Her perfect lips slowly form into a soft smile as she keeps looking at and touching my face, and suddenly there’s not enough air in the room. This smile is for me. She made it for me and gave it to me and I’ve wanted so long for her to look at me like this that I’m almost scared this is just another dream.”
* “She’s perfectly perfect to me. The only thing that could make her even more perfect is if she was mine, and I hope more than anything that by the end of the night, I’ll be able to make that happen.”
* “He pauses, and then I feel his finger under my chin, lifting it so that I’m looking up at him. “But then I met you,” he places a soft peck on my lips,“and I could see everything with you, Wendy.”
Some tropes etc: * she hates him, he’s completely obsessed with her * learns how to play lover on the piano bc it’s the fmc’s favourite song * take’s fmc on bookshop dates * slow dances to taylor swift * reads fmc’s favourite book bc he wants to know everything about her * no third act breakup
3.5 stars! this was a sickenly cute romance story but i ate. it. up. it was just so cute. both virgins, both ‘enemies’ but the H is so in love with the heroine, even since the beginning, it is so cute. loved their innocent moments, LOVEDDDDD how much the H loved the heroine. like this man did everything and anything for her, it was the best. there were lots of cringy moments but an overall sickenly cute book
This is one of my favorite books of all time. I've never read a book this fast before because I could never get so engaged in a book long enough to finish it in less than 2 months (unless its poetry). But this book was so amazing and I literally cried. Fitz is so amazing...best fictional man I've ever met! I'm so excited for the second book.
Kinda read like what a high school teenager imagines college to be like. Also, what was with the murder mystery vibes randomly in the middle of the book? Not every character needs a tragic backstory I fear. Would be one star but the MMC was actually likeable, so it was bumped up to two.
this was pure sweetness and the epilogue made me so unbelievably happy. (the structure of the story could use some work, but it’s a comforting romance).
Cliché. Sappy. Mushy. And I loved every minute of it!!! This book hit every single checkbox for what I want in a man and in a relationship, and it made be believe that men aren’t so terrible. It was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy and although it was a little wattpad-esque, the character development and the romance made up for it! If you need me, I’ll be impatiently waiting for someone to love me the way Fitz loves Wendy.
i’m in love with fitz. wendy will literally call fitz an asshole and he will be like “but i’m your asshole 🥰 ” and then proceed to swoon over her like she’s the only girl he sees in the world. loved this book. ♾️/5 stars.
I really liked the overall vibe of the book. Some parts were a bit cheesy for me but it definitely has appeal for hopeless romantics. I loved how obsessed Fitz was with Wendy and I think the progression of the book and the storyline was really good.
literally adorable and probably the cutest romance i’ve read this year. also that epilogue was chef’s kiss and *SPOILER* the proposal at the end?? literally perfect. one of my faves
Mmm it got cringy once they started dating 💀 momma was a bitch tho ?!🤨 Also?!? Why so many goo goo Gaga pet names bro like just calm down and call her by her name 😭😭 you guys weren’t even dating with all that snoookums talk bro
this was adorable 🥹 fitz and wendy were so precious. it was definitely a one sided hate to lovers. fitz was a man obsessed completely down bad for wendy since day one literally. she would be insulting him up and down and he’d be like 💕💕💕💕💕 💕 wendy 💕 💕💕💕💕 anyways they were so cute. i really enjoyed this despite it feeling a bit repetitive at times. i feel like a lot of inner monologue was recycled and worded differently but still said the same things so some of that could’ve been cut i regardless this was a super wholesome, sweet read.
introducing, nothing to everything by maia aaron🎹⭐️💗 —— tropes: two rival pianists kinda grumpy heroine golden retriever hero he falls first and hard enemies to lovers except he never hated her and boy obsessed —— i really hope you read this book because i can officially say it’s on my top 10 books i’ve read this whole YEAR. where do i even start. wendy is a girl that i and most other girls can relate to and fitz is my dream man. this book has the BEST epilogue i’ve ever fucking read. please. stop what you are reading right now and read this book.
THIS BOOK MADE ME WANT TO KILL MYSELF FROM THE AMOUNT OF FLUFF AND CUTE SCENES BETWEEN FITZY AND WENDY. LIKE FITZ'S ABSOULTE OBBESSION WITH WENDY WAS KILLING ME ON THE INSIDE. IF YOU DON'T HEAR FROM ME, I AM ALREADY DEAD.
This book was so cuteee, with a little bit spice. Fitz is my new book boyfriend and I will gladly take take him any day of the week over any guy I know in real life 😂
I was going to rate this 3 stars, but after some thinking I'm going to give it 4 starts. I really loved the hero here and I loved all the little touches and tender, sweet kisses. I really liked that this wasn't solely focused on sex, even though there were sex scenes, but it was more focused on building a relationship between main characters. I realized after reading this that most books I've read focus on sex, and sex is kinda the end game. Here, Fitz kissed Wendy, not necessarily because he wanted to sleep with her, but because he liked her, he loved her as a person, and was happy to just touch her and be in her presence. And he really was a great hero - patient, kind and loving. I liked Wendy too. I really could relate to her and I understood her struggles, even if she annoyed me at times. And I loved that Fitz never let her insecurities stand between them and her didn't let her push him away. And I loved that Wendy didn't forgive her mother in the ending. Some people don't deserve forgiveness, especially when they never regret things they've done.
What I didn't like was the time jumps. After every important event the next chapter would be a few days/weeks later, and it got annoying after some time. Also, I think that it could've been a bit shorter because I felt like the story dragged at times.
But, overall, I really enjoyed this book and Fitz is one of the best heroes I've read about.
