Okay so first off I’m so happy I discovered this book because it was actually really good 🥰minus his mom being slightly annoying(but I get it he’s a mamas boy and she’s jus looking out for him haha🤍)I love how this book was easily the most Easiest read ever like Im just huh how did it already finish😅 I love how driven isla was dancing and how jake was determined to keep on winning her back after his mom kept ruining it for him constantly lol! I loved how she couldn’t resist and just accepted him again! My favorite part would have to be when he wrote her the cheesy poem about the fondue and when they were playing billiards(pool), it was refreshing to see that the female character actually is good at Sports(or like playing pool) rather than the guy lolll! I was waiting for them to kiss, and when they finally did I was like omg yasss! So yea overall glad I found this short cute story🥰🤍
Enjoyed this story, but felt the ending needed more. Maybe it's because I wanted the story to go on? Plenty of intrigue and pull to see if anything materializes between Jake and Isla. As soon as they were starting a date or getting comfortable with each other's company Jake's mom, Charlene, would show up or interrupt their date or time together. This caused a rift between them, unfortunately, and why I wanted to see a solid ending because it hung here.
Good character description and fun storyline with chuckles in between.
This was a sweet novella about Jake and Isla. Jake can't seem to get away from his meddling mother who sets him up on a date after creating an online profile. She then proceeds to interfer in this very new fledgling relationship which makes Isla back up a bit. Fortunately Jake is not giving up so easily and they eventually get their happy ending. The book flowed easily from chapter to chapter and the characters were believable. A clean romance.
This was a short, sweet, and a tiny bit inspirational story. The characters were somewhat believable, and the story had some interesting elements. Personally, the whole package didn't "grab me". If you want a lighthearted, can be read in one sitting, story to be introduced to the author, I would recommend this so you can decide for yourself. I was able to read a copy of this book via Nook, but it did not in any way affect my review. All opinions are my own.
Cute romance started by a meddling mom, who keeps meddling until she ends up having to apologize to both her son and his new girlfriend. Once mom backs off, they have their HEA.
A different book, that's for sure. Cannot believe a parent would go to such lengths to obtain their desire. Would have made me run for miles to avoid that sort of dynamic. An interesting read.
